Random Izuku Midoriya HCs
Pairing: Midoriya Izuku x reader
Word Count: 1109
Warnings: nothing I think! (Except that it’s not in any way edited 😅)
Genre: fluff and maybe some angst(? But like only cuz I talk about what arguments might be like briefly??)
A/N: So, school has been hella hectic so I don’t have another fic to post just yet, but I did have these HCs I wrote a while ago (because thinking about domestic things with this boy is literally my coping mechanism) so I thought I’d share these.
🌸~🌸~🌸~🌸~🌸~🌸~🌸~🌸~🌸~🌸~🌸~🌸~🌸~
I see him living in an apartment. Like maybe it’s just me and my bias cuz I prefer apartments but he just gives me that vibe.
I think the two of you have a monthly movie night.
He’s that one guy that always guesses who the murderer is in thriller/murder mystery movies.
The two of you would be watching a movie on the couch, snuggled up together being all cute. Like fifteen to thirty minutes into the movie he’ll suddenly blurt out “it was the butler.”
C’mon he’s so observant by nature you can’t tell me this wouldn’t be him.
It annoys you so much but at the same time it’s so cute how he goes into a muttering rampage whenever there’s some new information.
I think he's much better at baking than he is at cooking. I think he used to help Mama Midoriya with baking all the time as a kid and that probably stuck with him throughout his life.
Speaking of cooking and Mama Midoriya, I think she makes him a lot of premade meals in his early pro hero days. She knows that he’s an adult and he can take good care of himself, but he’s always so busy and his work is so dangerous, she just wants to make sure he’s not neglecting his health.
Inko is definitely happy that her son found a s/o like you 🥺
That being said, I don’t think he’d be a bad cook. He’s really just okay. Like if he’s got a recipe he’ll follow it to a T and it’ll come out nice.
Without the recipe? Not so much.
Would totally collect other pro heroes’ autographs once he himself is a pro hero.
Once he’s high enough in the ranks and he has his own merch, Izuku will definitely be too shy to wear any of it.
Baby is humble ❤️
BUT BUT BUT please steal the free samples the companies that make his merch give him for free (pjs, hoodies, shirts, slippers, etc.) and wear them yourself.
He will malfunction when he sees you clad in pjs that look like his hero suit.
Izuku.exe has stopped working.
If you’re also a pro hero, or have a job where merch based on you could be made, he will purchase and wear everything.
If you’re not a high ranking hero and have no merch based on you? That’s fine, he’ll commission someone to make at the very least a hoodie for him.
It’s canon that Izuku is a fanboy, it only increases tenfold when it’s his lovely s/o.
This man will be so sweet to all of his fans, especially lil kiddos. Whenever they tell him that they wanna be heroes I can imagine him being super supportive because he knows what it’s like to have people tell you you can’t accomplish your dreams.
I think this is a given, but his office has a huge limited edition poster of All Might that is both framed and laminated.
He speaks to it whenever he needs guided✨
Izuku will definitely, 100%, undoubtedly be a bit of a workaholic.
Like, he doesn’t put his work before his family or you and if you ever call him saying you’re upset about something or you’re sick he will drop everything (or at least try to get everything done as fast as he can since the #1 hero can’t exactly just drop everything sometimes) and run home to you so he can take care of you and give you cuddles 🥰
The two of you rarely fight since both of you hate hurting each other and he would literally rather fight an army of villains than upset you, but when you do fight it’s usually about how he works himself too hard or of how he puts himself at jeopardy too often.
I feel like he wouldn’t yell at you during these arguments because he just hates raising his voice at you.
If you happen to cry because of the fight he will feel so bad. No doubt will start crying too and you’ll spend the rest of the day comforting each other in each other’s embrace.
He’s so soft for you uwu
He’s a busy guy so dates might not happen as often as he would like them to, but he’ll manage to make time for at least one or two a month.
They might be low key, just because I can’t see him as someone who goes on ultra extravagant dates, but they are always tailored to what the two of you like to do together. They mean the world to the two of you.
I’m not 100% sure about what his love language would be but I’m leaning towards words of affirmation?
Hear me out, we know that he’s struggled with his self esteem growing up and he’s definitely gotten better and is more self assured as an adult! But once in a while, he’ll get a little insecure and hearing you say such lovely things and reminding him of how much you love him makes him feel warm and gooey on the inside.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve been together for 5 months or 5 years, Izuku will blush at any compliment you give him.
He’s a cuddle bug. Istg will die on this hill. He loves to be close to him. Please play with his hair while his head is resting on your chest or lap. He will turn into mush.
At this point in the relationship, he has a hard time falling asleep without you/the sound of your heartbeat and breathing to lull him into sleep.
He likes when you read aloud to him. For all he cares you could be reading about fucking mitosis but as long as it’s your voice he couldn’t care less.
He gives me early bird vibes.
Like, even on his day off he’ll probably wake up at like 6 or 7 am just cuz it’s hardwired into his system.
When that happens, he’ll probably go work out before taking a shower and coming back to join you in bed.
He won’t be able to fall asleep again so he’ll just admire you in a non creepy way and/or watch some hero documentary thing (with headphones so that he doesn’t wake you up ofc)
Once you do wake up, the two of you will make breakfast together before spending the day together being soft adorable babies.
If he ever does sleep in or you wake up earlier than him, please wake him up by attacking his entire face with kisses he will die a happy man.

Missing Mommy
Another Daycare au! Hooray! Sorry to all of you Logan, Virgil, and Valerie lovers. This is a Patton-and-Roman-centric thingy.
Warnings for crying/hyperventilating and nightmares (not anything graphic)
((Also Roman is a silent crier and you can pull that hc out of my cold dead hands))
~
Roman Craftman was perplexed.
You see, Roman was sure, with 100% certainty, that it was Sunday. Today should be the day he spends with his Mommy.
Instead, at 6:25 am, his Mommy woke him from his peaceful sleep and told him to get dressed to go to daycare. Then, before he could open his mouth, she dashed back down the stairs. It took him a bit to even understand what she had said. He then started to wonder, was it really Monday? Did he forget that Sunday even happened?
Roman hoped not. He loved Sundays the most. It was the only day he got to spend all day with his Mommy.
To get to the bottom of this predicament, Roman meandered down the stairs, still in his PJ's, rubbing his eyes and yawning dramatically all the way. What he found was his mother frantically putting things into her work bag.
His Mommy didn't have to work on Sunday! That was why he liked it so much! Maybe it really was Monday.
Now doubting himself more than ever he asked, "Isn' it Sunday, Mommy?"
His mother looked up at his for a second before sighing. "Yes, it is. Now why are you still in your pajamas? We have to go in ten minutes!"
Roman couldn't believe it. He had to go to daycare. He was going to daycare on his only family day in the whole week. He liked daycare, but he loved his Mommy. And today he was promised a whole day with her, just like always.
Suddenly, he felt a stinging rise to his eyes. His bottom lip forced it's way out of his mouth into a pitiful pout and he started to cry.
He stood there at the bottom of the stairs for quite some time before his Mommy noticed he had not gone up to change. When Roman's mother noticed him still standing there she sighed in a truly pained fashion. Roman could really be a drama queen and now was not the time, in her eyes. She walked over to Roman, picked him up, and carried him upstairs. "I know you're upset, but I have to be to work very soon and I really can't be late. Can you be cooperative for me please?"
She tried her best to quickly sooth Roman but he was not having it. When she tried to get him in presentable attire for the day he kicked and made the saddest face he could.
Eventually, she gave up. "You know what? Fine. Got to Patton's in your pajamas. We have to go now, or I'm going to be late. Patton will feed you when you get there."
Roman was speechless! His Mommy never ignored his pouty face. And now she was taking him to daycare in PJ's? Whenever he was upset, his Mommy always explained why things had to be the way they were and then did what she set out to do. Never once has she neglected to confort Roman when he was destressed in favor of time.
*
Roman about fell out of his booster seat of his car when they pulled in the driveway of the "daycare". This was not the daycare he knew. Instead of a commercial building with multiple entrances for different services and classes, Roman found himself at the door of what looked like a quaint little house.
"Mommy! This isn' the daycare!" Roman whined as he tried to drag her back to the car. She ignored him and rang the door bell.
He continued to pull and complain untill the door swung open. Roman's eyes grew to the size of saucers when none other than Patton, the daycare caretaker, answered the door.
She smiled at Patton then looked at her watch worriedly. When seeing the time she yelped and lightly pushed Roman over to Patton. "Good morning Patton. Thank you for doing this. There you go Roman. Have a fun day. I will pick you up later!" Then she was sprinting as fast as a woman could in heels in gravel could to her car.
Roman still stood at the front of what may very well be Patton's own house, looking back at his Mommy's car speeding to work.
Patton noticed his hurt face and crouched down to his level. "Hey buddy. How's it going?"
Roman lifted his eyes to reveal a heartbreaking expression. "Mommy left."
"I know, honey. She'll come back, though! She always does."
Roman shook his head crossed his arms over his chest. "But today's family day," he whimpered into his arms.
Patton took a second to decipher what Roman had said, then made a sound like a whining puppy. "I'm so sorry, Roman, I know you want to go home. Maybe your mom didn't tell you, but she was called in to cover a very important meeting for her boss and she had to go. I'm sure she would have stayed with you if she had the choice."
Suddenly, Patton found a Roman launching at him for a tight bear hug.
"Do you want to go inside buddy?" Patton asked after a cool breeze reminded the both of them that they were still outside and Roman was in PJ's.
"Mhm," Roman muttered against Patton's shoulder. He didn't look like he was about to let go at any point so Patton hoisted him up and carried him in the door. Roman clung to Patton while looking around the unfamiliar house. He first noticed how small it was. It looked pretty small from the outside, but compared to the other houses on the block, you wouldn't think it was that small. It had tiny kitchen and living room that was equally as small. A bathroom near the bottom of the stairs was the only other room in Roman's line of sight. The rest of the house was on the second floor.
Once inside, the two rummaged through the cupboards looking for some adequate breakfast food. Roman found the candy pretty quickly.
"No Roman, M&M's are not a breakfast food!" Patton said, but he was a smidge to late because he was met with a chocolate covered Roman with cheeks full of goodies turning around to look guiltily at him.
Patton shook his head and laughed as he took the remainder of the sweets away from Roman. "We'll have eggs. How does that sound?"
Roman smiled a chocolatey smile and nodded energeticly.
"Maybe we should get you cleaned up first, Kiddo," Patton laughed.
About halfway through breakfast, the sound of a dog's bark startled Roman so badly he knocked his plastic cup of orange juice to the floor. Patton cringed and said, "Lucy, hush!" as he ran for paper towels to clean up the mess.
Roman apologized profusely through Patton's rush to maintain order and offered to help, but Patton refused. "No, my dog scared you so I should clean it up."
Roman's eyes grew in astonishment, catching on. "You has a dog?"
"Yes, I HAVE a dog." Patton corrected.
Roman got down from his chair as quickly as Patton responded. "I'm done! I wanna see the doggie!"
Patton looked up at Roman with a confused expression. "I thought you would be scared of Lucy so I put her upstairs. She's a pretty big dog, and she barks pretty loud..." Patton gestured to the spot on the floor where the juice was cleaned from. "Are you sure you want to see her?"
Roman clasped Patton's hands in his like Patton was the child in this situation. "Yes. Ev'ybody loves dogs."
Patton smirked at Roman's 'wise words'. "Oh, but of course. Your Majesty."
Roman giggled and ran towards the stairs leading to Lucy. Patton ran after him saying, "Slow down kiddo! Lucy gets overexcited sometimes and I don't want anyone to get-" but for the second time that day Patton was too late to tell him what to do. Roman flung the closest door to him and out came barreling a very energetic Great Pyrenees.
The fluffy white dog was at least a hundred and ten pounds of pure joy, running laps around a laughing Roman. When Roman reached out his little hand to pet Lucy's nose, Lucy froze so she could be pet without knocking little Roman over. She had a little trouble keeping still so her whole back end was wiggling away with the exited wag of her tail, but other than that she was very safe for Roman.
Patton wasn't sure why he was worried. Lucy was loud and a little crazy sometimes, but it's just because she gets exited. She had always been very aware of her surroundings and acted accordingly. He had nothing to worry about.
Lucy and Roman played for hours. Roman would grab various dog toys (provided by Patton) and run away from Lucy in a fun game of chase. Again Patton was worried for Roman's safety, but Lucy trotted a safe distance behind him. It was a fun time for all.
Eventually, Roman and Lucy were bother tuckered out. Roman insisted that he was fine, "But our a'venture jus' began!"
But as if on cue, Roman yawned. He knew he couldn't win this battle while giving his enemy amunition, so he allowed Patton to pick him up and carry him to the living room where a cot was set up just for him. Lucy pranced over and plopped down next to the mini cot, resting her head gently on the edge and closed her eyes.
In a matter of adorable minutes, the two fast friends were fast asleep.
*
Roman did not sleep soundly. His sleep was mixed with scary nightmares about mean men that had come to take his Mommy away forever. He had to try and run after her, but his little legs never had a chance and he fell behind. So far behind that while he was still running forward, it looked like he was traveling backward. The men were long gone and Roman was stuck in a loop of running forward but going backwards and a monster was behind him and he kept running forward but the monster was right there and keeps getting closer oh god!
Roman woke up and bolted upright, distressing Lucy greatly. Roman looked around and he was reminded that he wasn't at home. His Mommy really was taken away by meanies; she was stolen from her only full day with him! Patton wasn't in sight either. He was all alone. Roman's breath became shakey and quick. Fat teardrops rolled down the sides of his face as fast as he could wipe them away with the palms of his hands.
Roman could be dramatic and pouty all he wanted to get attention but in actuality he was a very quiet crier.
So there he sat, tears falling down his face, in a bed that wasn't his , by a dog he wished he could have.
Lucy rubbed her face against Roman's and whined. When Roman's hitched breathing turned to hyperventilating, Lucy yipped once and then howled.
Patton heard his dog's commotion and walked into the room.
When Roman heard Patton coming he turned his face away. He shouldn't cry over something so silly! Nightmares aren't real. There was millions of worse things that could have happened. No one died! He wanted his Mommy, sure. But he would still see her that night.
Rationalizing did no good because Roman continued to cry and have a dangerous breathing pattern.
Patton rounded the corner and peered in saying, "Lucy, what's the matter? Roman has to sleep so please-"
He cut himself off when he looked into his living room.
Roman's little arms were now wrapped around Lucy's fluffy neck. His face was red and blotchy and tears flowed freely down his cheeks before falling to Lucy's fur.
Patton rushed over to the cot and kneeled gently by the side of it. He put his hand softly on Roman's back to rub it soothingly while cooing.
"Shh. Breathe sweetie. You gotta breathe. Take one with me, okay?"
"Oka-ay."
"In with the good air... Out with the bad."
"I-I'm s-s-" Roman hiccupped and continued to sob.
"It's okay, just focus on breathing for me. In... Out. That's good, Roman."
They stayed on the floor just breathing for a good half an hour. Roman clutched Patton as hard as he could. If he couldn't have Mommy, then Patton was the next best thing and he was never letting go. The monsters wouldn't take all the things he loved away.
Later, Roman's Mommy would come back. She would wisk him up into her arms and spin him around and say how sorry she was that she couldn't stay with him today. She would take him home and make him her special toasted cheese and tomato soup that she knew was a very messy food but she would make it anyway because it's his favorite. Later, Roman would ask his Mommy if maybe she could spend a different day with him because he really, really missed her. She would laugh and rope him into the biggest bear hug and promise to pull a few strings.
But now, Roman and Patton would just sit on the living room floor, with Lucy by their side, ready to fight away any monsters that dare defy the mighty Roman and his closest allies.
~
Was that good did I do good?
Haha the bad reference game is real. Anyway, thanks for reading. Had this in the works for ages but was a lazy beanbag chair as usual.
