I went digging and couldn't turn up anything, substantial or otherwise, about Matt Moylan. I need to know how low to place my expectations for my second favorite mega men, because it sounds like "pretty damn low"

Matt Moylan is the Director of Publishing over at Udon. He's been there for ages. He's also a total reactionary.

To give full context, this is gonna get a little long.

Moylan is perhaps best known for the Transformers fancomic Lil Formers, which was popular in the '00s. This isn't super important here, but allow me to go on a tangent because it's where a lot of people know the guy from, and it's mildly more entertaining than just screencapping his tweets. The comic was basically just an excuse for him to draw a bunch of chibi Transformers that people would then use in forum signatures and whatnot. Sometimes he would attach his cranky old geewunner opinions and complain about art style changes or new female characters in the dialogue, if he wasn't just making a generic joke about Wheelie being annoying or Seaspray having a silly voice or whatever.

Comedy gold, I know.

Lil Formers was well known within the fandom. Geewunners and kids who didn't know any better and just liked the chibi Transformers (guilty) loved it. Other fans grew more annoyed by Moylan's schtick. As far back as 2009 TFWiki contributor David Willis mocked it in a strip from his own webcomic, Shortpacked:

His wiki page on TFWiki also recounts a bizarre old bit of fandom drama. Moylan had previously worked for the defunct comic publisher Dreamwave, who published the Transformers comics in the early '00s, and in 2006 he went on popular Transformers forum TFW2005 to make several claims about behind the scenes conflicts and unfulfilled story plans. Most bizarre was a claim that Autobot Sunstreaker was supposed to be gay in the Dreamwave comics, which was written off as a childish attempt to rile up the fandom. His claims were all vehemently disputed by the Dreamwave writers he was shit talking, who would also accuse Moylan of anonymously slandering them and sending them threatening emails. Swell guy!

Anyway, hopefully this isn't surprising to literally anyone who's been on a forum in the last decade, but this nerd who won't shut up about the Good Ol' Days of the '80s is now a reactionary conservative who complains about how they're making everything "woke." And unfortunately he's no longer just some guy drawing dumb little one-panel comics about Transformers, he's now overseeing all of the output at Capcom's go-to comic and art book publisher in North America.

Here's some of his tweets to illustrate what he's like these days.

Yes, that's a reply to Mark "Grummz" Kern. He's also chatted up accounts like Libs of Tiktok and Comicsgate ringleader Ethan Van Sciver. Also note the reply in which he tries to tell Greg Weisman himself that Gargoyles had "not an ounce of woke." This guy's brain is fucking cooked.

Here's a take he posted about The Boys, too, just because it's really fucking funny to me:

After I and several other people posted about his behavior over on Bluesky and expressed disinterest in buying anything from Udon (such as the new Mega Man comics), he deleted his Twitter for like a week. He's since restored it, the tweets in question now long gone. Clearly it wasn't a good look for him to be making statements about his employer's values like this, sometimes in the same breath as announcements about new comics. That being said, he's issued no actual apology for his statements, and Udon hasn't acknowledged it at all. There's no reason to believe he's had a change of heart. They're just gonna pretend he never said any of this. And as of a few days ago, he's been announced as the writer for the one-shot Mega Man ZX comic that Udon is putting out later this year. Yaaaayyyy

I know there are a lot of cool people working on stuff for Udon, but Moylan being in a position of power there means I have zero interest in giving that company money. When your Director of Publishing is over on Twitter trying to court an audience of reactionary nerds and proudly proclaiming that Udon is "anti-woke, anti-DEI," and then you go to their website and the first image you see is this...

...Look, I love huge boobs as much as the next bisexual furry pervert, but this particular image in conjunction with his tweets paints a pretty clear picture of what sort of values Moylan is pushing at Udon. He wants to cater to nerds who will buy softcore Street Fighter hentai thinking it'll own the libs.

So hey, if he doesn't want my dirty woke money, fine by me. I'm not touching anything Udon publishes as long as Matt Moylan still works there.

He mainly clings onto your side, like he just clamps himself onto your waist or arm and will just stay there! He also likes being held by you but that’s only for special occasions

He doesn’t beg and whine for cuddles but he will be pissed if he doesn’t get cuddles when he wants. He expects you to read his mind; “how was I supposed to know you wanted to cuddle you didn’t say anything?” “I DONT KNOW!”

But once he does get them he is very pleased with himself, he feel like he wins since he didn’t have to ask even though he was pouting the whole day which is basically the same-

He normally big spoons you while his face is like (¬◡¬). If you catch a glimpse of his dumb smirk you tease him which makes him hide in your hair instead~

He’s scared of cuddling anywhere public in any way- he wants cuddles to be private and special! He like just being with you and no one else ok!

Tsukishima✿

He thinks he’s so smart trying to make cuddling ‘your idea’ even though you didn’t even say anything at all. Like random he just walks up to you; “fineee since you wanna whine so much I guess we could cuddle.” You didn’t even say anything before he spoke up he was just to shy to admit he wanted to cuddle

He big spoons you but what he really loves is resting his head on your chest and wrapping his arms around you, You play with his hair and call him ‘your baby’ and at that point he doesn’t even try to stop it. He will deny it later tho👍

The only cuddling he really does PDA wise is letting you rest on him. He doesn’t care abt all the teasing his gunna get if your tired he doesn’t care he will be a pillow. Again he will deny it later even though there were witnesses

Yamaguchi✿

Never will he ever ask to cuddle, it’s way too embarrassing to ask you he’d rather just curl into a ball on top of you and wait for you to acknowledge him, he always lays on top of you even if he’s bigger or smaller than you he doesn’t care. He draws shapes on your arms while he waits for attention, he also likes when you pat his head-

Once you finally engage with him he was just start TALKINGG, about anything! When he’s comfortable he talks! About his day n such and sometimes he goes “oh do you wanna say something? No? Ok…blah blah blahhh” you don’t mind his yapping at all though

If you try hugging him in public or pulling him in he will just look away timidly and softly push off, hopeing no one sees his red face~

He tries cuddling you literally everywhere. He can’t go one second without a cuddle- he could be in the middle of shopping or something and he will just stop, turn around and cling onto you, then after a minute he will get off and act like nothing happened

If you guys r just hanging out at your house and y’all decide to cuddle uhm, your going to have to pick the position cuz he can not make up his mind- honestly he just sprawls out and let’s you do whatever, normally you just hold him which he’s chill with

He gives you hugs n love but cuddling is rare but when it does happen it lasts HOURS. Like 4 full hours I’m being Fr. He holds you close to his chest and just stays there, he doesn’t even fall asleep he’s fully awake and he remembers every moment!

He waits all day for you both to have free time so you could just talk and cuddle and he will get impatient in you take too long, he’s been waiting all day ofc he’s gunna get impatient; “y/n hurry up!!!” “Be PATIENT!” “UGHHH”

When y’all cuddle he always hides his face in your hair or neck and he gets cold like really easily so when he starts getting a little cold he tightens his arms around you hoping for you to bring warmth to him

He is obsessed with cuddles but if he asked for them all the time he would feel like he’s bothering you, WHICH HES NOT!

He tries to figure out if your busy in any way ; “sooo y/n, you doing anything?” “Uhm no?” “Cool…cool…” “…do you wanna cuddle~!” “Yeah” you can tell what he wants without him having to ask which he loves

He cuddles by tucking under your chin and basically hiding in the neck, when you cuddle it’s nap time for him so you have a sleeping boy hiding in your neck while softly snoring, you comment about his snoring later and he got embarrassed 😔

Tanaka✿

He normally only cuddles late at night when he’s still hype asf and needs to calm down, so he just throws himself onto you-

He obviously uses your chest as a pillow so he wraps his hands round your waist as well, you could feel him nuzzling into your chest while he whispers something about you being so hot (as usual)

On a serious note he finds is so cute when you drag your thumb over his cheeks in an attempt to calm him down, he always grabs your hand and kisses it before actually calming down.

Like I kinda understand the CoraLaw ship, I also like don't? For some reason my brain just views it as like almost grooming??? Idk, would it be possible for you to please further explain your view on the ship? Obviously you are under no obligation to do so, and it's fair of you think you shouldn't have to explain your thoughts on it. I am moreso just curious.

Regardless I absolutely adore your art, especially how you draw Penguin and Shachi.

This isn't rude at all, this is actually quite polite and civil! And also-

I shall go in depth below since it'll be a lot.

First and foremost, a lot of people seem to have a totally bastardized idea of what "grooming" actually even IS nowadays. It gets tossed around so much that people forget that the main trait is INTENTIONALITY. It is an INTENTIONAL process of manipulation and abuse for selfish reasons (similar to gaslighting). It is very hard to "accidentally" groom someone. You can give them the wrong idea, maybe, but that's not grooming. It originally means to basically prep and train up someone for a specific role later in life. Doflamingo uses this meaning of the term when talking about wanting to train Law up to become his righthand man.

Cora-san's character is LITERALLY DEFINED by his selflessness and sacrifices he makes to save Law's life. He doesn't expect anything in return. He acts on a sense of duty and then empathy. He suffers greatly in attempts to allow Law to survive and live freely, out from under the thumb of his brother.

Speaking of Doflamingo real quick, for some reason I feel like I see the ship of DofLaw get a lot less hate than CoraLaw despite the fact that they're in similar positions. Usually, because people have the headcanon of DadCora even though Law never views or refers to Cora as a father figure in any canon or spinoff material. If you have that headcanon, fine, whatever, but you have to remember that canonically, Law and Cora do not see their relationship as familial. That's part of the weight in the scene that Law has with Sengoku after Dressrosa. "Don't look for a reason for somebody's love."

Law didn't have to be family or important or anything for Cora to love him. He just did, if anything, from a sense of deepseated empathy and understanding of the pain that Law was going through.

Now- the actual shipping part of it.

It is also extremely difficult to groom someone if you are GONE FOR 13 YEARS.

The most commonly depicted manner of CoraLaw as a ship is Cora returning after 13 years, whether he secretly survived Minion Island, has been a ghost, was resurrected- whatever it may be, there is the gap of Cora being gone and assumed dead for over a decade. That is a LONG TIME to be separated from a person, and by the time you reunite, things will have changed, ESPECIALLY LAW. He is NOT the same person he was at age 13 anymore, obviously. He is a fullass grown adult at age 26 in the current canon. He has become an entirely new person with new strengths, confidence, and outlook on things.

Another important part of the ship to me...is that it is most often LAW who is pursuing CORA, not the other way around. LAW is the one who has spent all this time devoted to avenging Cora and being basically obsessed with honoring his memory and repaying the sacrifices that Cora made to him. The devotion is met in equal measures in that sense.

Their relationship as adults, 26 and either ALSO 26 or 39 (depending on if Cora is resurrected or has actually been alive this whole time) is them recognizing how things have changed and how their dynamic has now evolved into something totally different. Law isn't a kid that Cora can pick up like a football. He's an accomplished pirate captain. He was a warlord for a bit!!! He's an insanely powerful and scary guy tbh!!!

But Law still has a soft spot for Cora, still talks about him with an edge of kindness and love. Law would he terrified of admitting that he's perhaps developed feelings because of the fear of rejection from his most precious person, the one he owes everything to.

A lot of fics go with the mutual pining angle, both afraid of ruining what they have, despite the fact that things aren't the same as they were 13 years ago. It's an interesting space to explore and requires a lot of trust ans vulnerability on both ends-

No. It's not a conventional relationship by any means. I won't argue that. But that's why I like it, damnit. It's a fictional scenario that is largely impossible in our world, and it's a fun space to explore and to consider the depth of the affection they already have for one another, evolving into something different and new.

That's the main takeaway here tbh for me. It's FICTION. Literally no individuals are being hurt and it's not even ticking off any boxes of the usual Dead Dove sort of things so. Yeah

Alanas Brasas x Reader

A/N: I haven't written anything in literal years but i got inspiration at 2am with a friend so enjoy this and her fic at @xbugs when she uploads it!! :) This is a work of fiction, do not take this as fact or genuine, this is just a bit of fun.

Context: Brangioji = sweetheart/my treasure. Širdelė - sweetheart/little heart.

Warnings: None, just a fluffy fic! :) go to your dentist after. Established relationship.

To keep authenticity, the characters refer to the Lithuanian school system, which would be two years behind the British school system (ex. Lt yr 7= Uk yr 9)

“You sure Lukas isn’t coming by? I wouldn’t want to impose you know-”

“I’m sure, I’m sure he’s busy. Should be getting some sleep, he deserves it after all.”

Alanas rests his ringed hand on the small of your back, guiding you into the studio. With the door clicking shut, you sit down as he takes his guitar carrier off his back. 

“You know, I forgot something.” He leans towards you, pressing a kiss to your hairline. A grin spreads to your face.

Stupid.

So so stupid. But you still smile nonetheless, keening at his affections. The coldness sets back into your chest as he pulls away to set up his guitar, plugging it into the amp and fishing out a guitar pick in some narnia-esque crevice of the studio. 

“So what are you practising? Tavo Akys? Niekas?” You ask, settling into your little corner, eyeing him a little. Your gaze travels down his figure, eyeing his rounded out features, lingering on his nose and lips a little too long. 

His lips quiver in amusement, feeling your stare but trying not to give it away too much. It takes the crackle of the amp to snap you out of your admiration of his features, looking back down at your phone and sliding the edge of your thumbnail down the side, between the screen and the case. 

“Brangioji… you have a bit of a staring problem, hm?”

“Can’t help it, y’know? You’re easy to adore.. And to love.”

He lets out a flustered scoff, unzipping his collared fleece jacket that he takes everywhere, as the tips of his ears turn slightly pink. A smirk graces your lips, readjusting in your spot as he contorts his wrists and fingers under the premise of a wrist exercise; not a possession, thankfully.

“Have you ever played guitar before?”

“Only when I was in year 7 with lessons from music. So I’ve basically forgotten everything anyway.”

“C’mere, love, I’ll teach you the ways of the electric guitar.”

You snort, stifling a giggle at his dramatism towards the beloved ivory Fender Jazzmaster, your lover tracing the details of the instrument with his fingertips like a movie villain with a pampered persian cat. With a small huff, you let him pull you to your feet, adjusting you to his liking to the point where you’re both comfortable. The sofa dips a little extra as you are seated between his legs, his chest pressed to your back. Alanas’ breath tickles the spot under your ear, his face tucked next to yours over your shoulder.

“Comfortable, Širdelė?”

You just nod, melting back into him, the position more than familiar to the both of you. It was reminiscent of late nights of watching House with takeaway, or letting him cling to you as you would do your makeup for work. His frame engulfs yours as he leans in, taking your hands into his, slightly gasping at how cold they are. Alanas rubs his thumb over the back of your hand, pressing a few ticklish kisses to your knuckles, dried from the unpredictable spring weather. 

“Your hands look so much cuter in mine, myeah?” He teases, nosing your ear a little, placing a few kisses there next. 

That same warmth ignites in your chest, worming it’s way out of your heart, winding around your ribcage and into your bloodstream; your heart beating faster for him. Only him. Always him. 

This draws a chuckle out of him, causing him to drum up the nerve to start pressing more kisses to the side of your face. He leaves no stone unturned as his guitar is ditched next to him, winding his arms around your waist and hoisting you up slightly onto his lap for easier access. Despite your giggles and squirming, he doesn’t let up his rather soft assault on your face, pressing his lips to every freckle, blemish and spot on your visage. 

When he finally lets up, he leans in slightly closer, a grin tugging at the corner of his lips.

“You know what guitarists do when they’re all sweaty?”

Before you can even reply, he sticks the crimson guitar pick to your forehead, completely shattering the intimate moment shaped between you two under the dimmed yellow studio lights. You jokingly frown, causing him to mutter apologies into your skin, his voice interrupted by his laugh throughout. His lips travel to your lips like pilgrimage that he swears he cannot get enough of, hands travelling up to your neck, just to hold, to feel your pulse thrumming under his fingers.

Alanas’ blue eyes meet yours, his heart swelling in his chest and straining against his bones at the trust in your eyes. The eyes that see the same, sun, moon and stars look at him with the same devotion to him, to his hands that create sound, warmth and love. He slowly leans in, pressing a kiss to the corner of your lips before committing fully, mouth slotting with his in the most gentle manner possible from a man filled with that much love for someone like you. Someone he would tear himself apart for, just to be rebuilt by your benevolent hands that find so much solace in him. 

He pulls away, lips hovering over yours as you try to catch your breath. Swiping his thumb on your cheek, he asks a simple question.

“Is E-minor a good chord to start with?”

A/N: I've been in the lnd fandom for a few weeks now and I'm so obsessed of this game. Keep in mind these are just some random things that I have in mind when I think of them in a relationship.

Xavier

I imagine him as a very caring boyfriend

He'd listen to what you have to say and whenever you have something that troubles you, try and find a solution

His favorite sleeping position has got to be spooning you with him being the big spoon

He just loves to embrace you and know that you're safe in his arms

While laying like that he loves to breath in your scent

And while you're asleep, he plays with your hair and softly glides his fingers along your skin

It calms him down, especially after aonh day of fighting wanderers

He also likes to go on missions together with he

He won't admit it but whenever you get assigned with a different partner than him, he gets so jealous

He just loves to spend time with you

He's more a listener than a talker

Through the entire year he takes notes on the things that you mentioned you wanted to have

When your birthday comes up he buys all those things for you!!

Although he loves to spoil you on valentines day with flowers, chocolate and lots of kisses, he doesn't really see a point in the day specifically

He buys you flowers every once in a while and doesn't understand why there would have to be a whole day dedicated for it

But if you see it as important, he definitely puts up an effort to make you happy and see a smile on your face

He always blushes when you get him something in return!

He prefers to give, more that receive

He also makes sure that you're nicely relaxed after a mission

While you sit on your chair he might come up from behind and give you a soft shoulder massage and some neck kisses to ease your mind and body

I imagine him to smell like lavender and fresh laundry

His favorite drink has to be iced coffee and water

In winter he'll also drink a hit chocolate with you

He loves to add cute toppings and make it delicious

As we all know he's a doctor and always very busy

You see him a lot less than you would the other two boys

He appreciates it when you come to the hospital and visit him on his breaks

You'd remind him to relax and take it easy every once in a while

It makes him smile to know that you care for him so much

Him not being able to see you as much makes him sad, so he tries to make the few dates that you go on extra special

He always consideres your wishes and does whatever you desire

You want to stay home with him and watch a movie? Sure, he'd love to. You want to go out to a fancy restaurant? Yeah, he's down.

He has a hard time expressing his emotions with his words, so he's definitely more of a "actions over words" kinda guy

His love language would equal to "acts of service" and "quality time"

His hugs and kisses feel very intimate, because it's his way of expressing his emotions to you

He adores the fact that you understand him so well and that you respect his boundaries

He's a morning person for sure

He likes black coffee

For you he always makes sure that you're healthy

Whenever you get a little sick, he's always worried about you and tries to prevent it with all that he can

It makes you chuckle how much he can get worked up over a little cold

Once you get better he makes sure that you stay healthy and happy

Starting of with a very basic headcanon but I think he'd paint you

But not in the way in which you might think

He wouldn't only paint full on portraits of you but he'd incorporate you into his art in a very different way

He'd draw the landscape of your favorite places

He would use your eye color as the background color of a beautiful still-life

You being around him would inspire him to draw freely without any restrictions

Your laugh would make him move his brush in the same rhythm

Sometimes he'd let you help him with a painting

He also loves to go and search for different ways to create paint with you and look for ingredients

I think even though he's very sassy and bold most of the time, when it comes to intimate moments he'd be rather shy

He blushes a lot!

And definitely has a hard time keeping eye contact with you in those moments

His kisses are more soft and caring than you might think at first

In my eyes he'd be the furthest thing from rough in any intimate situations

He holds you as if you were a fragile piece of glass that could break at any second

He feels like you're the only one who he can let his emotions out on, without feeling judged

Loves sleeping on top of you like a weighted blanket

Slightly snores but not very loud

It's more of a heavier breathing

As we know he's very ticklish

When you two are playfighting you can definitely take advantage of that

He'll be a whining and whimpering mess

I'd like to send a formal apology to Morell, Obie and Zizz for how quickly and effortlessly Tristalis was able to steal their spots in my heart.

Like low-key, Tristalis sounds like the best choice out of all your characters regarding like romantic situations. It could be because we haven't been exposed to his darker traits, but it just seems so far like he's just so sweet but confused regarding like human customs. I just want to cuddle up with him and smother all three of his heads with love and affection.

and the fact that he makes stuffed animals? My biggest comfort item and like just a big love language of mine? As soon as he gives me that stuffed animal on that bus I'm here blushing and crushing immediately.

How would Tristalis react to a romantic interest who gets all giddy and flustered when he gifted them the stuffed animal. Like they're immediately smiling all wide and hugging the stuffed animal to their chest? Just absolutely fawning over it, even tho he can't understand anything they're saying he can practically see the hearts in their eyes.

He's my husband now, he's got no choice- he's gonna be walking down the aisle in a wedding dress by next week. >:(

[Imagine getting mogged by Tristalis rsrsrs. He can be decidedly scary, but he's more permissive than a few of the monsters here.]

Tristalis has had positive reactions to people who see his plushies. Many have come up to him to buy them without the monster even having to do much of anything except rearrange them in public. He's flexible with prices, but not someone who can be scammed easily- Because, even if he's not well-versed in surface customs, he knows the basics of plenty of currencies. Sometimes a child will try to trade a plush for something rather inadequate, and if Tristalis is in a good mood, he'll just give a plush away for a bag of candies.

The only adult Tristalis has ever given plushies to is you. And Lords, does your reaction have him glowing.

He'd been scheming which one you might like best, mostly based on what you were wearing or the color of your eyes and hair. To know that he hit the nail right on the head has him sighing audibly. The Starbeast may not be fluent in your language, but the beam of your smile and the shine of your eyes is all the answer he needs to clap to himself in happiness.

The problem here is that Tristalis is excitable.

He sees you hugging the stuffed plush to yourself and suddenly wants to ramble, mixing words up in an attempt to talk, to let you know more about his crafts.

At some point he just gives up on words altogether, all three heads bobbing occasionally with glee as he shows you other plushies, gives you skeins of yarn to feel and even requests your opinion on possible designs he poorly sketched (drawing is not in his deck of skills, for sure).

Depending on how receptive you are to Tristalis' attention, he may get immediately sidetracked and just follow you around like a lovesick puppy. He can even make smaller things if it guarantees you'll look at him with the same amount of awe you did before.

Whisper! Is my little alien girl! She’s of unknown age and was found in the hull of a spaceship, a curious young thing who loooooves climbing on stuff and is basically a cat in her behaviour. From sitting on high places to the curious need to swat at anything she doesn’t understand. She’s got some pretty broken English because she’s still learning and her little fangs give her a lisp. I love her she’s baby and now basically my mascot!

Meet Lillian the remnant of my short lived miraculous lady bug phase.. she’s a 14 year old girl who just transferred to a new town to be closer to the hospital. She’s got a pretty bad immune system causing her to be rather frail and get tired very quickly. Having spent a lot of her childhood in a hospital bed she’s determined to make a fresh start. Her health has been stable and she doesn’t need to travel as far anymore and the school nearby is very disability accessible SO SHE GETS TO GO TO SCHOOL!

In the story her health swings a ton thanks to a magic paper bird granting her the power to become a magical girl to save the world! But it does come with the price of exhaustion. She will have to learn to balance both sides of herself as she makes both friends and enemies!

meet some of the important characters of my original project quest for the moon(concept title)

She

The 4 champions chosen by the moon goddess herself the benevolent 4 who started it all

They have some hinted lore in their art fight bio’s ehehehe

But i can get into them a little bit here!

CIRCE!

The benevolent high priestess of the children of dragons,

Her people reign over the tops of mountains and the depths of canyons, skilled gliders

She was chosen by the moon as the representative of her people as both an elegant but emotional woman knowing her decisions would not be as cold hearted as her father’s. She’s infatuated by the wizard fallis but her heart strongly beats for the more gruff Jaecar (i ship them so bad and they weren’t even supposed to be canon lol)

JAECAR

The general of a big pack of childeren of the wolves he was chosen to represent the people for his determination but kind heart. A strong leader who knows how to protect what he loves.

Jaecar got his position at a young age after being pushed forward as a young man to stand up against the leader of their traveling town, people thought he’d turn cold after the loss of his eye but his kindness persevered. He’s one to start a fight if he believes he’s in the right causing the others quite a scare but he basically turns into a golden retriever when he’s not under pressure.

He wishes to share his determination with circe as she’s pushing through the complications of her people’s views on her. (And they will kiss.. EY WHO SAID THAT)

ARIEL

chosen by the moon for her relaxed view upon life she brings her calming energy to any debate

Her people roam the waters as the children of the ocean, often far apart the small communities always welcome the young explorer in their mits. She’s very in tune with the emotions of others and wishes to protect them at all costs, often comforting Circe, laughing alongside Jaecar… and keeping an eye on the young Fallis

Her views upon the moon aren’t always as positive as the others.

FALLIS

A young man who had always looked highly upon the moon goddess, seeking her guidance in his craft of healing. He doesn’t believe in violence living a pacifist life. Always putting others before himself.

When the moon chose him the represent the children of the deer he saw it as the greatest honor, he followed the goddess closely and she took a strong liking to the mortal boy. But.. she would never help him in his pursuit of peace and health for everyone, he never understood why she’d try to hold him back when she bestowed him with a gift that was supposed to heighten his abilities. And that feeling… can grow to resentment over time…

We got the earth and the sky, but has anyone asked about what you think of Abzu?

i love abzu!!! another one i have watched the gdc talk for which you can watch here!!

the two big things in abzu are the fish animations and the overall environment lighting - lets start with fish!! there are a lot of them. and when you want to animate a lot of things, your computer will explode. this is specifically when you animate things with bones, how a lot of computer things are animated

luckily one thing that gpus can be really good at is drawing a tonnnn of the same object really fast, using something called instancing. as long as its the same mesh and material, it can be rendered a ton with just a single draw call (like i am talking hundreds of thousands). so lets make 10 thousand fish. unluckily this doesnt work with skeleton animations. luckily you dont need them! especially with fish

even though all the objects need to be the same mesh and material, doesnt mean they cant have different input. not only that but shaders let you modify individual vertexes, so, what if you just take all 10000 fish and wiggle them along an axis, like this

and give them all slightly different inputs so they arent all doing the exact same animation, maybe by giving them each their own unique number. now you have 10 thousand fish swimming around, wiggling, at almost zero rendering cost

these are all individual 3d models and all their animations are running in the shader !

the other way they animated fish without giving them bones was through something called blendshapes - these are usually used for stuff like facial animations, where you move vertices around to your desired "shape" (so like maybe your default face is :| but you edit the vertices so your character goes :> etc), and keep track of the difference between each vertex's position and its original position so you can move it whenever you want

that doesnt need any bones so they used this for things like fish going CHOMP and fish making sharp turns

for the actual environment, they experimented with a bunch of things like using actual volumetric lighting, but in the end they found that just using fog worked best!! they did tweak it a bit though - they had a "zone" between where the fog started to get thick and when the fog just ended up being a solid color where they dimmed any lighting - this really helped the background geometry stick out and give that underwater feel (left is without dimming the lights, right is with dimming the lights!! fun to think about how firewatch did something similar but changing the fog color based on depth rather than literally dimming the lighting)

they also let different volumes have their own fog value, so if there was say a cave off in the distance, it could have less fog than the surrounding area for clarity & also made the fog look a bit more volumetric

and the other huge thing that helped was "portal cards" - not an official term but its what they called them, basically just quads they could stick in any place where they needed to make something "stick out", like a cave, or a hilltop that blended with the background too much. the card sampled the depth of objects behind it, and used that 0 to 1 value to map a color to it. and then the closer youd get to these cards, the more transparent theyd get, until youre right on top of it and you dont need the objects to stick out of the background anymore!! here you can see a Me, but very dark, and then i slide the card over it. the black and white is the camera depth of all objects behind the card, minus the depth of the card. and mapping that to a color makes me stick out way more than i was initially!! then as you swim closer to me, the card fades away, until you pass the card completely

these portal cards were also used to make the light beams poking out from the surface, theyre just animated a bit!! you can see how the portal cards affect the look of things in this frame breakdown

and one other thing thats pretty prominent that wasnt touched on in the talk is all the caustics on the ground, those little wobbly light things you see underwater. but those were probably? just added to every shader as a "add this caustics texture on top based on the with the texture mapped to the world x and z position and only if the object is facing up"

I'm reworking my "Undertale Control Route" AU in the the "Monarchara" AU. I already designed Chara. I think this could be an Ask Blog, so if you want to ask questions to Chara or Frisk, I think I could draw them replying. I don't think I'll draw it with color. But first read the description under the drawing of Chara so that you know what it's about.

Both Chara and Frisk are girls in this AU, and the AU will have Charisk content.

The idea is that, after Frisk's No Mercy run, she gave her soul to Chara to bring the world back, just like in the normal game. But now, since Chara's in control, she can do anything she wants (and Frisk is in the position Chara was before that point).

Frisk in this AU isn't a creative person. She never really took decisions on her own, she always followed the possibilities given to her by other people. She always struggled with knowing who she is or what she wants, so she just follows other people's suggestions.

And that was true in the Underground too, as the best thing to do she could come up with with her power to control time was to change who she killed or not. All the other "choices" she made were just proposed by the other characters or by Chara (like the various Acts).

But Chara is different. She has plenty of ideas on how to use this power in interesting ways. She ended up making the Underground into her plaything basically. She knows the people in this world are just characters and not real people, so she has no issue toying with their lives however she wants.

Eventually, after years of doing this, she reached levels of Determination so high that her abilities to control this world even surpassed Asriel's at the end of the pacifist route. Her soul alone was now far stronger than seven. She became a god.

She broke the barrier and annihilated humanity in a snap because she hates them and thinks that this is what they deserve. She proclaimed herself to be the new ruler of this world.

After that, she gave Frisk a body of her own. Though Chara still owns her soul and is the one who decides what she does with it, Frisk still has feelings thanks to it.

And nowadays, monsters live on the surface, and Chara still messes with their lives as she used to, accompanied by Frisk, now no longer limited by the events that happen in the Underground.

She uses her power to control time to do whatever she wants with no consequences. For example, she could very well go to Sans and Papyrus' house, pull all of Papyrus' spaghetti out of the fridge and spill it all on the floor. Then she can steal Sans' pet rock and throw it to break the window of the Librarby.

And well when she does this kinda stuff she doesn't always load immediatly. She waits a bit to see how the people she messes with react.

As for her LV, she used her powers to lock it to 1. She knows LOVE makes you lose yourself, and that when she was at LV 20, she wanted to destroy the world. She wants to avoid losing herself again and she wants to keep playing with this world forever, so she locked it to 1 and killing doesn't affect her LOVE anymore.

Though Chara always resets to right after she got rid of humanity after around a year or so, scared of growing up and wanting to see how much she can change things in the same year.

Despite that, Chara does genuinly care for the one other person she considers real : Frisk.

And while this may seem like the conclusion to this story, it's only the beginning. The idea is to explore Frisk and Chara's respective characters and their dynamic, why they are the way they are and why they did this (because Frisk is on board with Chara's plan), and how they might evolve over time.

Chara's aware of the prophecy of the Deltarune, and that she and Frisk are the Angel who freed all the monsters. Therefore, she renamed the world "The Angel's Heaven", just like in the prophecy.

But she's so powerful that she laughs at the idea that 3 heroes could banish her Angel's Heaven, if they even exist (spoiler alert, they do, but they're not the same as Deltarune's 3 heroes.

And Flowey's still out there. He makes himself discreet because Chara's still mad at him for messing everything up in the past with her plan and would kill him on the spot, but he's trying to come up with a way to stop her somehow.

She's aware of the multiverse, that's how she knows about the Deltarune's prophecy, since the part of the Angel's Heaven has been forgotten over time in Undertale and is only told in Deltarune.

After she killed all humans, she used their souls to make a barrier around her entire universe, so that nobody in the multiverse could possibly enter and interfere with her world. And nobody can break it since nothing in any universe can match the power of billions of human souls.

that utterly disgusting post comparing Wei Wuxian not giving up Wen (dogs) and Jiang Cheng giving up his 3 dogs, and how, he's always been in the position of "giving."

NO.

All the people saying in the tags they are "true brothers," absolutely not. To fulfil your status quo siblings, tsundere character and ship, you completely dismiss the entire story.

1. Jiang Cheng has no dog loving tendencies.

2. The scene of giving his dogs up presents an important theme.

Jiang Fengmian tries to get Wei Ying adjusted to the dogs, but he absolutely cannot, so they are made to leave; Jiang Cheng as a child is understandably upset about losing his dogs. To add on, his dad lifts Wei Ying up and Jiang Cheng kicks Wei Wuxian out, scares him with dogs, but feels like he would get into trouble, so he tells his sister, tries to find him, gets injured, and Wei Wuxian promises he won't tell anyone that JC kicked him out; and then, the dogs are gone, but now Jiang Cheng has his favourite subordinate.

What strikes me is that Jiang Cheng, even as a child, holds no true empathy.

- Wei Wuxian has no control over what he absolutely cannot stand; whether it be dogs or injustice. It's integral to his character.

- Wei Wuxian has no control over who lifts him up, loves him, or praises him. None of these actions are meant to be targeted at Jiang Cheng. Yet throughout the plot we see JC losing his mind when someone approaches WWX with positive intentions or says good things about him.

- JC kicked WWX out and scared him with his worst fear; this is the parallel you are meant to be drawing; just like Jiang Cheng threw him out then, Jiang Cheng threw him out now (leaving the Wens to die is not an option.)

- Jiang Cheng worries that he would be admonished by his father which is why he goes to find WWX, but gets injured in the way.

such a pathetic character honestly. the reason he is still alive is because of the former - he fears authority. Killing demonic cultivators? But let Xue Yang go! Why? He's protected by the Jins. Don't fight LWJ because he's powerful.

and the finding WWX, trying to help WWX once but getting injured... lack of capability.

- WWX promising not to tell anyone; and that's it. that's the basis of their relationship. it's one sided as hell. they're not brothers. it's basically abuse. if you've read the book, you would know.

"from Jiang Cheng's perspective" Jiang Cheng doesn't matter! He will always be beneath Wei Wuxian; his whole purpose is to be a red warning sign; Wei Wuxian can kill 50 of Jiang Chengs for all I know; there is no need to dive deeper with your biased, limited knowledge of Jiang Cheng.

- They are not brothers. They are martial brothers. Raised in the same sect and practicing the same cultivation style.

- There's a clear distinction of subordinate vs superior; master vs slave; owner and his killing dog. The point of conflict arises when the dog acts without his master's commands to save common people. It doesn't stem from misunderstanding or any such thing like that - it's out there. Wei Wuxian knows their moral ideologies don't align. He had hoped Jiang Cheng, if not take the Wens into Yunmeng, would at least, let him be. But when the matter is of "Kill them, or I will not stand by you."

Wei Wuxian leaves the sect; it is NOT Jiang Cheng's sacrifice. It is not hurting Jiang Cheng. The most hurt it causes is to Wei Wuxian; who ultimately had to make the choice.

Jiang Cheng is hurt? Oh, is it because Wei Wuxian chose the moral high-ground over playing his lapdog? Jiang Cheng must be furious.

Also, "Jiang Cheng has given and given" - NO.

- Wei Wuxian comes to Lotus Pier and hangs out with friendless, bitter, unloved child Jiang Cheng, matches his competitiveness head on head, coaxes him to talk to people, etc. Accepts all the endlessly bitter taunts and throws out a few in return. Surpasses him in abilities, practices together. They're boys.

- Does all his bidding and requests in Cloud Recessses to do this or that. Jiang Cheng does carry him, when they are 15.

- In Xuanwu Cave, Jiang Cheng also attacked the Wens after Wei Wuxian got burnt; Wei Wuxian was the reason he was able to live. He did travel and ask for aid. But Wei Wuxian also did allow himself to become a bait and usher people out stuck in a cave with a 400 year old monster... what's not clicking?

- and after the fall of lotus pier he strangles Wei Wuxian and hits him, gets done with life, thinks "I'll die heroically" and also sort of out of guilt and remnant care for Wei Wuxian, but instead loses his core.

And then?

Then what? That is it. That's really it for their relationship being giving on Jiang Cheng's side. It died when Lotus Pier did. Yet:

- Wei Wuxian knowingly, consciously gave up his core for the guy who strangled him twice in the past 50 hours or so.

- Without even a core, fought in the war alongside the Jiangs, earned a lot of report; the sunshot campaign is a small arc text wise in the book, yet there are at least three mentions of Wei Wuxian being the reason behind why the Jiangs are extremely powerful.

- Even afterwards acts on JC's orders in the Phoenix Mountain Hunt.

- Keeps protecting Jiang Cheng's name by ensuring it's not about Jiang Cheng or "don't bring him into this."

- Doesn't even attack the Jiangs in nightless city

- JC can enter the barriers still

- even back to life he just wants to get away and not harm him, unlike JC

so basically, fuck Jiang Cheng and more specifically please touch grass. it's one thing to like a character. it's another to dehumanize a bunch of people rescued from labour camp prison where they were dealing with xianxia level of abuse as dogs and justify a powerful clan leader not helping them, especially when he owes them, to show how he once lost his dogs.

Like that is vile.

Hi. I’m Treasure Planet posting. Did you guys know I love that movie. Disney leave it alone. Disney no remakes or sequels please. Disney let it remain perfect and spotless in my mind.

Actually I wouldn’t consider it QUITE perfect bc it has that one annoying robot but tbh I’m convinced that he was the product of Disney breathing down the writers’ throats to have “more comic relief”

Other than that AUUGHHGHHHHH ITS SO BEAUTIFUL 😭

There was a sequel in the works for a while but tbh I’m so glad it didn’t come to fruition. They were gonna give backstory on how Silver lost his limbs but we already know. He lost them looking for Treasure Planet. We don’t need specifics. Also the plot seemed very much like it would’ve backtracked on all of the development from the first movie. We literally see Jim grow up and become confident in himself but all of a sudden in the sequel he’s angsty and rebellious again? Also Silver was gonna be skinny in the flashbacks? See I could’ve tolerated everything else but that is where I draw the line.

If the sequel did happen I would watch it purely for more father/son found family bonding without the looming doom of Silver’s betrayal around the corner. It’s okay tho because I have fanfiction to fill that void. I also hope that B.E.N. Would stay at the inn for most of the movie. I’m sorry I really tried to like him but that robot makes me so angry.

Also for some reason Amelia was gonna be the dean of Jim’s college??? Sorry but that takes away from her entire character. Because it’s basically a military school and I believe it’s canon that Amelia stopped being in the military because of how strict they controlled everything.

If I were to make a sequel, I would make it go more in depth about the political system in the Treasure Planet universe because the video game touched on that a little bit. But it would have a different ending than the video game bc I HAAAATTEEE that ending. Basically Jim is in the spacer military and the whole political conflict is the same as the video game and Kate is a major character but I don’t think I’d give them a romance story. To me it just felt like they really wanted a love interest for Jim and so OF COURSE he has to fall in love with the only girl character!!!! Kate’s father is in a pretty high up military position and so she’s very much type A, stick to the rules, don’t cause problems kind of girl. Jim isn’t the rebellious 15 year old boy he was in the first movie but he does have a tendency to do things in a way that isn’t traditional and might make some of his superiors a little upset. The two of them PLUS Onyx because he’s also a character from the game and he looked really cool, all get sent in some kind of mission together and at some point they have to stop in a pretty crime-heavy port. They get cornered by a group of pirates while they’re there only to find out that these pirates are led by none other than JOHN SILVER HIMSELF and he’s quick to tell the rest of the pirates to leave them alone and back off because that’s JIMBO who they’ve heard all about from the stories Silver tells at meal time. They are very happy to see each other, they’re cracking jokes, Silver is a proud father. Meanwhile Kate is brooding the whole time because Jim shouldn’t have any kind of relationship with a pirate. Also at the end Silver retires because he’s getting old anyway and spends the rest of his days sailing from planet to planet and making routine visits to Montressor. Ummm anyways those are just a few of the great ideas my brain is capable of. But also I’m happy that there was no sequel because they just don’t get it like I do. Disney needs to sign over the rights to Treasure Planet to ME. Then I could write a really good fanfiction and it would be canon. And I could read other people’s good fanfiction and go “hey this is canon now btw”

Twisted Wonderland AU -Lady of Savanaclaw-

I got around to drawing Vihaan and Kairo older and decided to also draw Ruggie’s kid. In the end that also led me to coming up with the idea that their generation also gets a Yuu or two…

Couple extra things I forgot to mention would be:

1) Vihaan has basically taken over Leona’s role of second in line by her teen years meaning a couple of things, like her being in charge of training the bead brawl winners. She’s also pretty active in making training regimens for the royal guards (this is the main reason she has taken over being second in line as well as the fact that her older brother is ill and can’t do it himself).

2) Yue is half Chinese and half French. She was born in the USA though (much to her carnage). She takes great pleasure in the fact that she gets to introduce a lot of modern things, like lingo, to Yusuke.

3) Yusuke can’t read or write. He mainly memorizes things through sound/auditory processing (that’s why he’s good with instruments since he can remember what sounds are made for different hand positions). He tries his best to remember everything but it can be difficult. After Yue finds out she decides to record their lectures from then on.

4) Arlo was found in Ramshackle’s garden bleeding out. Yusuke found him and called Yue to aid him. He’s been loyal to the two ever since.

5) Yue is the one who ties up Yusuke’s hair.

6) Yue has a game console that came with her to Twisted Wonderland. It’s kind of her greatest treasure as it was in a case that held a bunch of games. (Orth tricks it out for her and made it compatible with their world’s games) She loves watching Yusuke try to play with it cause his reactions are hilarious (like a boomer discovering technology, except he’s not rude about stuff, or something akin to that). She reads all the text aloud for him when he wants to play.

7) Arlo can use magic. He mostly uses light magic instead of void magic and also has an affinity for flora magic.

8) Arlo lost his memory. He doesn’t remember his own name. His name is a name that Yue came up with.

9) when at Ramshackle Yusuke hoses down people he doesn’t like.

Some other extra facts not pertaining to the characters drawn would be:

1) Crowley is still in charge of the school. Most of the teachers remain the same as well.

2) Ortho (Orth for short), Idia’s son, is very proactive in making Crowley squirm and take responsibility. It’s like enacting his very own payback for a couple of things.

3) Orth is a lot of the students favorite teacher. He teaches magic (from principles of magic to magic control and everything in between) and history (Trein has been retired for a while atp and animal linguistics has been taken over by a different teacher).

4) Crowley is terrified of Yusuke cause Yusuke’s a(n) F around and find out type of person with a weapon and no fear of repercussions.

5) There’s an unspoken rule among the students where they don’t mess with Yue because while she tends to be nervous and anxious she’s also very terrifying. Everyone is scared of her especially after she grabbed Yusuke’s axe and almost immediately amputated someone’s limb because they were being misogynistic towards herself and one other female student (Yusuke willingly gives her his axe most of the time).

2) whenever i render i like try to make it look messy but neat at the same time??? if that even makes sense idk if i’m doing it right. i try not to go over my entire sketch so i can give it that messy look. (good(?) example is my elisa and lucia works. i didn’t adapt over to the pencil lineart back then but you can see where i didn’t bother to even try lol. a good example is my anne and alice post. you can see i didn’t really bother to erase the excess lineart of their hair). again not sure if i’m doing it right but i try to give the illusion of stuff seeming well detailed but they are just scribbles yk?? (an example is my marriane work)

i think this ask will help you out too since it talks about how i use colors :)

3) for composition i try not to make my entire drawing look stiff if that makes sense. i try to give everything a “tilt” rather than making everything “straight”. i also zoom in on things sometimes to not make it feel empty

take my elisa work for example. now imagine if i didn’t position her at an angle and she’s zoomed out a bit, making you see her full body. if you compare that to what i did actually drew, you can see the one i made is more dynamic, rather than her just standing there

basically, i try to make everything seem uneven rather than organized ??? if that makes sense (well, not on everything i make, but you get the point)

honestly i just give everything to try to not make my drawings look boring (besides my doodles) so i genuinely have no idea what i’m doing so i hope what i just explained makes sense 😞

(also anon i’m glad you chose those two works bc looking back i’d say their composition is my favorite compared to my other works HOLY?? my works now seem so bland compared to them what happened 💔)
