3, 24, 46 for those asks, my love! 💞
Libby!!! My phantasmic simulation!! Don’t ask my why that 😄 It came to me in a dream ♥️
3: Do you leave the window open at night?
Ooh okay no 😭 see our windows don’t open they’re kind of stuck our home is a death trap BUT even then if they could I would never!! I’m too scared that someone or something is going to come inside. Plus I’m already very freaked out by any time of intruder situation in general that I always check our doors during movies or lets plays that involve that!
24: If we were together on a rooftop, what would we be doing?
OKAY OKAY OKAY. SEE, I thought about this one because I could easily say we’d have a sweet endearing heart to heart as we stare at the moon but honestly I think I’d throw something off for funsies and we’d end up throwing to see who could make it the farthest. 🤔 as for what we’re throwing I thought of water balloons but maybe golf balls or rocks if we’re feeling spicy 😄 I’d hate to be anyone walking by! We gotta aim for the head!!
46: favorite holiday film?
So I also had to really think about this one 🤔 let’s do both Halloween and Christmas.
Halloween would have to be the Scary Godmother films. I haven’t seen them in a good minute but they’ve never left me!! I love them so much. AND monster house!!! Without a doubt 😭 the way she dies OOOF and he loved her so much
Christmas!! That ones tricky cause we always rewatch the same movies every year but if I had to pick out some of my favorites it would be Klaus, Richie Rich’s Christmas wish, and the National lampoons Christmas vacation!!
♥️ Ask Game Questions ♥️
#my looooove!!! I would love to throw rocks at people with you ♥️#😭 i really had to think hard on the Christmas movies tbh#I went and googled them for a SECOND and it deleted my entire reply#I decided to rewrite it in my notes#SOOOBS#🥰 thank you for asking though#if you were to break into my house I would welcome you ♥️ after screaming of course#mys mail ♥️

Incarnate Deleted Scenes - Hector's (Scrapped) Transformation
Writing chapter 1 of my Incarnate fic took FOREVER. There were so many revisions, so much prep and planning that took place in my head before I started typing anything, and I think I genuinely triggered myself a little bit because there were several incidents where I would be in the middle of passionately and excitedly working on the chapter, only to suddenly feel drowsy and fall asleep while sitting at my laptop. I was going thru my Google Docs and found one of the original drafts of Hector's initial transformation. While rereading it, I realized it was actually pretty good and there were parts I might be able to recycle for later on in the fic. And since chapter 4 of Incarnate was really short, and it was posted about seven months after chapter 3, I figured you guys might appreciate getting to read this deleted scene while I work on chapter 5! Hope you enjoy! ^^D
(Continue reading under the cut)
Adira dropped to one knee beside him, eyes wide in disbelief. Her brother wrapped both arms around his chest protectively and gave her a fearful glare. “Don’t touch me! What have you done?!” Hector demanded. The panicked, begging tone in his voice didn’t make Adira feel any better about this horrific development. “I won’t touch you unless it’s absolutely necessary,” she assured gently. Adira then turned and shouted down the bridge, “EDMUND!” thankful to see her king already halfway to them. “No!” Hector yelped, rolling onto one side and turning his back to her. He was panting softly now, fear and anxiety lacing his every breath. “H-he can’t see me…I didn’t mean to…I’m sorry…” he murmured breathlessly, beginning to tremble. “Hector you didn’t do anything - Edmund and I will figure out what to do, you’ll be okay,” Adira soothed, sliding her Shadow Blade into the sheath on her back. “What happened?” Edmund called as he approached the island of black rock. “The Moonstone shattered,” Adira replied, looking up at him.
“How?” the king demanded upon drawing level with them. Adira stood and stepped around Hector’s body, letting the monarch kneel at his back.
“I broke it,” she confessed readily, kneeling in front of her distraught brother. “The opal is no longer a viable container for the Moondrop’s power-” “How do you know?” Adira gestured to the pile of rubble at the base of the pedestal. Upon registering the sight, Edmund’s face went pale. “The power of the Moonstone needed a stable vessel…” Adira trailed off. She hadn’t quite processed the sight of the celestial magic moving from one host to another of its own accord, much less the fact that Hector had been its first choice. “Vessel?” the other knight whispered, his luminous eyes wide with horror. He lifted one arm off his chest for a sudden inspection. Adira saw the thin layer of red coating his skin, and was momentarily relieved to see one thing she did know how to deal with. “No-no-no, what is it doing?!” Hector whimpered. “It’s just bloodsweat, tam'muḍu,” she assured. “You’ve had it a couple times before, remember? It’s a result of intense stress, which you are definitely undergoing-” “It’s everywhere,” Hector muttered, holding his other arm beside the first. “Everywhere!” Adira took note of the thin layer of red liquid coating the second appendage, then let her eyes run along his form. She realized that the darkened spots on his tunic and leggings, which she had presumed were normal sweat stains, were quickly expanding to cover his entire body. And there was a definite red tinge to them. This Adira had not, in fact, had to deal with before. She only remembered a handful of occasions from their training years in which Hector’s anxiety had become so overwhelming that blood vessels just beneath his skin had temporarily ruptured. This allowed thin traces of blood to mingle with his sweat, painlessly seeping through his skin. But the bloodsweat had always been localized to one or two areas, never spread over his whole body. “Okay, roll onto your back,” Adira instructed, forcing her voice to remain calm. “We need to figure out what we’re dealing with.” Hector gulped, shivering and holding both fists to his chest.
“Please-” she heard him whisper, although what he was asking for Adira didn’t know. Edmund carefully grabbed the younger man’s shoulder with a gloved hand. Adira saw Hector’s eyes widen briefly, before shutting tightly as his teeth ground together and he tucked his chin to his chest. She’d never done well interpreting the body language of other people, but she’d known Hector long enough to read him like a book. Before the king could pull on him, Adira’s hand shot out and grabbed Edmund’s, ripping it off Hector’s shoulder.
“He said he didn’t want to be touched - we have to keep physical contact to a minimum,” she warned, throwing his hand aside. Edmund blinked at her, then glanced down at the pitiful state Hector was in.
“I don’t think he’s going to react the way you normally do,” the king reasoned with a confused expression.
“That’s not the point,” Adira countered firmly. “This is an emergency and he’s panicking. He needs to be cared for, not man-handled.” “And how are you determining the difference?” “Right now, he is.” “Adira! What happened to the Moonstone?” Adira nearly jumped at the sound of Princess Rapunzel’s voice. She and Edmund turned to see the Coronan party arriving at their end of the bridge, Rapunzel already standing close by and ogling wide-eyed at Hector. “Is Hector okay? How can I help?” "Keep that blonde ball of nightmare fuel AWAY FROM ME!" Hector screeched, crossing his arms over his chest and curling further into himself. Rapunzel stepped back in surprise, the rest of her friends coming to a stop behind her. After sharing a brief look with the white-haired warrior, Edmund told the princess, “You and your friends are not citizens of the Dark Kingdom, and should not be present for this.” “What about me?” Fishskin asked, stepping up beside his girlfriend. Adira respected the concern he exhibited for a man that recently tried to kill him, but knew the presence of the long-lost prince would only agitate her brother. “You aren’t a member of the Brotherhood, and you mean nothing good to Hector,” she answered soberly. “He needs the help of people he knows and trusts.” “But I’m the Sundrop, there must be-” Rapunzel began to argue. “Respect our boundary, princess,” Adira snapped icily. Her hand reflexively reached behind her head, fingertips brushing the hilt of her Shadow Blade as she leveled a glare at the Sundrop’s host. She’d witnessed the younger woman’s inability to resolve conflict and respect the boundaries of those she considered friends - she was beginning to see how much Rapunzel had to learn in the ways of respect and diplomacy. “You endangered my brother’s life without reason once already. I won’t permit it a second time.” “He tried to kill us!” Short Hair snapped back, stepping ahead of Rapunzel. “Now she’s offering to help him, and your response is to threaten her?” Adira’s eyes narrowed, and she gripped the handle of her Shadow Blade fully. Rapunzel looked shocked, as if she hadn’t expected Adira to defend her own brother from unwanted meddling. “Guys, let’s leave it,” Fishskin spoke up, glancing uncomfortably at Hector’s gasping, vulnerable body and placing a hand on Rapunzel’s shoulder. “This is serious. Adira and Edmund probably know how to handle it better than we do.” Rapunzel nodded silently, leaning into her boyfriend’s touch. “Thank you, son,” Edmund said with a nod. Short Hair scoffed and held a short glaring match with Adira, before turning and following the rest of the group across the bridge and out of the Moonstone chamber. Adira maintained her grip on her sword’s handle until the door to the chamber gently boomed closed. She released the weapon with a small sigh and let her shoulders drop slightly. “Hector, if you can’t roll over we’ll situate you,” she said, looking down at him. The younger knight’s eyes met hers nervously, his shoulders and chest heaving for breath as the bloodsweat soaked through his torn clothes completely. “But you can do it yourself if you want.” His gaze dropped away, and his face creased with a look of helpless discomfort as his parted lips began to tremble. Adira assumed the appearance of Rapunzel and her friends had spooked him too much. “You want us to do it - yes or no?” she asked gently. (Insert missing segment where Hector is covered in ooblek bloodsweat) Adira fell silent as the substance coating Hector’s body went from navy purple to an electrifying shade of blue, slightly glowing of its own accord. He yelped and yanked out of her grip, stared at himself in horror for a moment, then pushed himself into a sitting position with a loud groan. “What are you doing?” Adira demanded nervously, holding one hand as close as she could to Hector without accidentally touching him.
“I’m not dying in a puddle of magic bloodsweat,” Hector grumbled irritatedly, pressing a hand to his injured ribs. “Hector this isn’t the time for you to be moving in any way,” Adira countered, hoping she wouldn’t have to wrestle him back down. Edmund shifted his bulk a little closer to the smaller man, as if that would dissuade him from attempting to stand in his panicked state. “Says you!” Hector sneered. “You don’t even know what’s happening right-”
A pained shriek rent the air, and then there were long, thin spikes of black rock extending out of Hector’s right arm, the one closest to Adira. They were clustered just beneath his wrist and elbow, and completely circumferenced his forearm. All three warriors watched in a mix of shock and horror as the shards paused, then laid flat against Hector’s forearm in a series of interlocking shards. The startlingly blue former-blood continued oozing from the seams between the black rock shards, a few drops growing large enough to slide down to Hector’s elbow and then plop softly on the ground. Hector was staring in wide-eyed, slack jawed horror at his newly encased limb. Only a few moments of silence passed before he began releasing small whimpers and moans, his body starting to tremble. At his sounds of distress Adira snapped out of her own reverie. “Hector lay down,” she commanded sternly. He slowly and shakily complied, holding his right arm protectively to his chest. “Can I look at your arm?” Adira requested, forcing herself to speak in a calmer, soothing voice. Hector shook his head with a slight gasp. “Hector I need to see your arm-”
“It’s not going to help you,” Hector whimpered. “None of us know what’s happening-” “I’m not going to do anything painful; I’m just going to scrutinize it,” Adira assured. Hector resisted a few moments longer, before reluctantly lifting his arm in her direction. Adira let him rest the appendage in her open hands this time, and her eyes searched the black shards for any helpful clues that could be found. Hector continued whimpering softly in a manner that perfectly mimicked his furry sisters. The oozing seams suddenly disappeared as the shards magically stitched themselves together, forming an unbroken layer that covered Hector’s entire forearm. An epiphany struck her. “That’s what it’s doing,” she muttered conclusively. “What w-what’s doing?” Hector demanded. “What are you thinking, Adira?” Edmund inquired. “The Moonstone - Moondrop has augmented his blood into some kind of adhesive,” Adira explained, looking up at the king. “It’s meant to hold the black rocks in place to form armor.” She lifted Hector’s arm slightly for emphasis, bending his elbow a little to make sure he wasn’t hurt by the action. “That’s why it made sure Hector was coated before the rocks even broke his skin. And if their emergence causes him to bleed, that means more adhesive for a stronger stick,” she explained. Hector’s face creased with confusion.
“Arm…wh-why armor?” he asked, sounding more out of breath with every word. “Well, the Moondrop probably doesn’t want its new home to be destroyed as easily as the last one,” Edmund reminded them uneasily. Hector’s eyes went wide and he shrieked, “NO!” He pulled his arm out of Adira’s hold once more and cradled it to his chest, turning onto his right side and curling in on himself. “No-no-no-no-no!” he whimpered in despair. This time it sounded as though he was truly starting to cry. “Make it stop! Give it the fucking Sundrop, not me!” he begged. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry-” “Hector I swear on the house of my father I will find a way to reverse this, but it isn’t going to happen right now,” Adira affirmed, even as her stomach trembled from the weight of what she knew was about to take place. “You have to trust us, and you cannot fight what the Moondrop is doing.” Hector simply lay curled on the floor for several moments, panting heavily and making distressed murmuring noises. Then his body tensed and he let out a groan. “Not again, not again-not again-not again-”
“Give me your hand,” Adira instructed gently, holding her own near Hector’s bowed head. “Let me keep your arm off the floor.” Shaking, not looking up at her, Hector slowly peeled his left arm from his body and rested his hand in hers. Adira gripped said hand and pulled it closer to herself, extending his arm just enough to be sure that the forthcoming black rocks wouldn’t come in contact with any other part of his body. Hector spasmed momentarily, and then the tips of fresh black rocks sprouted from the blood-adhesive coating his arm. Adira set her mouth in a firm line, but couldn’t completely hide her grimace. She watched the same destructive force that had torn apart her kingdom push itself through her brother’s flesh - while he was still alive to feel the pain. Based on the sounds Hector made, he was groaning and growling through it with gritted teeth. His left hand tightened around hers in a death-like grip. His right hand dug into the black rock floor with curled fingers, scratching desperately. The new spikes of black rock reached a satisfactory length relatively quickly, and after a moment’s pause, laid flat against Hector’s forearm. He released a loud sigh of relief, then heaved for air as his left arm oozed and dripped for several seconds. Finally the flat shards melded into a single, unbroken layer, and Adira gently rested Hector’s arm on the ground. She let him lay still, breathing heavily with his head bowed, and studied his goop-covered body to figure out the best way to proceed. “Do your feet hurt from sweating too?” she finally asked. Hector panted for several seconds before replying.
“Yes…why?”
“We should get your boots off then. The black rocks will easily tear through them, but any scraps of leather that get caught between you and the armor might hinder it from conforming properly,” Adira advised.
“By that logic, should we strip him entirely?” Edmund asked. Adira shook her head. “His tunic and leggings are thin enough not to cause problems, probably his socks too,” she replied. “And if we remove his clothes we’ll probably remove a significant portion of the adhesive, which his heart will have to work even harder to replace.” She fully believed Hector’s clothing wouldn’t be a hindrance to his future armor. She also knew Hector had a deeply ingrained discomfort with being seen naked that rivaled her aversion to touch. She could hear the relief in her brother’s panting immediately after her declaration that he would only be losing his boots. Addressing him once more, she said, “Hector, I’m going to remove your belt and garter so they don’t get destroyed or cause problems. I need you to roll onto your back so I can cut the garter off cleanly.” “...You said…save it,” he wheezed, lifting his head to give her a confused look. “We can mend it much easier if it stays in one piece,” Adira elaborated gently. Hector thought over her logic for a moment, before nodding dazedly. Adira took note of how dizzy and clumsy he was when simply rolling himself over. True to his prediction, he lay soaked and surrounded by a pool of his augmented blood, and the loss of bodily fluid was starting to take its toll on him. “Edmund and I will be quick,” Adira said as she drew a knife from her boot and slid her other hand beneath Hector’s garter. She looked up at Edmund and gave him a short nod, which he returned. “If you feel another wave of the rocks coming, tell us immediately,” she instructed as she positioned her blade beneath the garter, holding its sharpened edge against the accessory.
“‘Kay,” Hector moaned uncomfortably, his arms resting limply by his sides. Edmund deftly slid the knight’s boots off as Adira cut through his garter and pulled it off his thigh. “Has your heart rate slowed?” she asked as she slid the knife back into her boot and set the accessory aside. She then grabbed the belt around his waist. Hector, with his eyes closed, took a deep breath and weakly muttered, “No.” Adira nervously looked down at his feet. It was almost impossible to tell he was even wearing socks. His tunic and leggings had nearly disappeared beneath the ever-thickening layer of blood-adhesive as well. “He can’t keep losing blood at this rate,” she grumbled to herself as she undid his belt, slathering her hands in the glowing substance as a result. “Sister,” Hector grunted nervously as she pulled it off. After setting the belt aside, she turned back to make eye contact with him. “Please…this…is a dream?” he begged weakly. His normally luminous eyes were dim, while the glow of his magically augmented blood seemed brighter than a few minutes prior. Adira’s expression dropped sadly, and she gently pressed her soiled fist into her brother’s limp, open palm. “I’m afraid this is very real, tam'muḍu,” she replied. As the reality of the situation fully gripped him, Hector’s chest and shoulders began to heave once more. His eyes shut tightly and he started shaking ten times worse than before, pulling his hand away from his sister’s. He started whimpering in the manner his bearcats did, hugging himself and murmuring, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry-” “Hector, you don’t need to apologize,” Adira insisted gently. “You did your job as well as you could. I’m the one who - I should have…” she trailed off. She should have what?
Should she have abandoned her quest for the Sundrop upon discovering it inhabited the body of a foreign princess? Should she have chosen another route through the Southern Mountains, avoiding a confrontation with Hector entirely? Could she have been more careful and not unleashed the homeless power of the Moonstone on her own brother? Adira found herself locking eyes with Hector once more, knowing what he deserved to hear, but unable to pinpoint why he deserved it from her.
“I…” Hector broke the staring match, grinding his teeth and pushing his head back with a loud moan. Letting go of the moment, Adira turned to see if she could pinpoint where the rocks would appear next. Edmund set his hands on Hector’s ankles in preparation, but Adira waved her hand disapprovingly. “Let him move, or do whatever he needs to,” she instructed. “We have no way of knowing where the rocks-” Hector’s moaning became significantly louder and he started scratching at the floor with both hands. Edmund pulled his own hands away just as new black spikes began emerging just above Hector’s ankles and just below his knees. These were significantly larger than the ones from his arms. Twin armies of miniature spikes also erupted over his feet, completing their mission of coverage surprisingly fast and forming what looked like a type of shoe. Hector attempted to bend his knees so his feet could rest flat on the floor, his teeth gritted and his every exhale punctuated with a pained grunt. Adira eyed the spikes that would eventually cover his shins and calves as they extended out of his body. “He’s not strong enough to keep his legs up,” she declared. “Can you support him without getting stabbed?” she asked, glancing at Edmund.
The king nodded and placed his hands behind both of Hector’s knees, careful to not touch the emerging black rocks while bending his legs so his feet laid flat on the floor. These bigger spikes were causing noticeable bleeding, making the section of adhesive between them impressively thick and causing the pool beneath Hector’s legs to spread a bit faster. Adira felt a pinprick of relief once they laid flat against his shins and calves. That was instantly snuffed, however, as a new ring of spikes began pushing free just above Hector’s knees, while his lower legs still had oozing, dripping seams. Then her heart gave a nervous shudder as a second ring of spikes erupted above the first, and then a third, starting a new pattern that was directed towards Hector’s upper body. Hector began wailing open-mouthed, fingers curled and nails digging into the floor as his arms went rigid. Not seeing an opposing ring of spikes emerge closer to his hips, Adira assumed the black rocks were now on a course that would end near her brother’s head. And that would require some repositioning. “Lift him - off the ground!” she commanded. “They’re not going to stop!” She turned away from Edmund’s confused face and slid her hands beneath Hector’s lower back. “What are you doing?!” Hector demanded through his wailing. “Making sure there’s space between you and the ground,” Adira replied, practically shouting over the sounds of her brother’s pain. “We’ll hold you up until your legs are done, and then put you back down, okay?” she explained, pulling up so that Hector’s hips and lower back were suspended. Edmund held his knees even higher. The black rock spikes erupting over his thighs were much shorter and wider than the ones from his lower legs, yet they caused just as much bleeding. Hector’s legs twitched and spasmed as he vented his pain, feet flopping against Edmund’s diaphragm. His knees remained untouched by the rocks, merely slathered with the glowing blood-adhesive. “Did the seams on his lower legs close up?” Adira asked loudly, focused on keeping her brother partially suspended in the air.
“They did,” Edmund confirmed equally loudly. “Good,” Adira replied. Once Hector’s legs were covered hip to toe by a flattened layer of the black rocks, she instructed Edmund to gently put him back down, moving in tandem with the king to limit her brother’s discomfort. Hector’s wailing was finally reduced to animalistic whimpering and heavy, ragged breaths. He lay with all four limbs splayed on the ground for a few moments, upper legs oozing from their still-open seams. Hector’s sweat-drenched head flopped in Adira’s direction, and he gazed up at her through unfocused eyes. “You…s-said-” His eyes then widened and he sloppily slapped both hands to his abdomen, gripping it desperately. “Stop! Stop-stop-stop PLEASE!” Realizing his un-armored hands were going to be impaled, Adira did the one thing she really didn’t want to do in this situation. She grabbed his forearms and lifted his hands off his stomach, holding firm as he struggled to escape her grip. “LEMME’-!” he demanded, then cut himself off with a strangled, high-pitched scream, louder than any war cry she’d heard him emit on the battlefield. The shards of black rock that emerged to cover his abdomen were not long or spiked. They were wide, short, and round, akin to scales, and maybe a quarter of Adira’s palm in size. Their sharp edges gleamed like miniature chakrams as they broke through the blood-adhesive coating Hector’s belly, traveling in two opposite directions from the centerline of his body. Adira grimaced, seeing tears spill out of her brother’s eyes and pour down his face, mingling with the sweat dripping from his forehead. He ripped his right arm free and raked his nails across his stomach in an attempt to claw the “scales” from his skin. Adira quickly grabbed his wrist and pulled his hand away, letting his left arm slide through her grip before tightening around his other wrist. Hector twisted and thrashed as the black rock scales blossomed over his torso, covering his stomach, pelvis, and chest and leaving pencil thin seams between them. No matter how hard he tried to yank his hands free, Adira refused to let go. The black rocks were relentless, spraying droplets of the glowing, blue blood-adhesive to pepper both their hands and Adira’s arm guards as they appeared, before laying flat to Hector’s form. If Hector’s fingers were trapped beneath his new armor, then…well, Adira didn’t know what would happen then. She was determined not to find out, no matter how many tears she had to watch him cry or how disturbed his screaming and sobbing became. The only thing that could possibly be worse than watching her brother be adapted to the Moondrop’s liking - against his will - would be watching that modification process go wrong. Hector tried pulling his wrists close to his mouth so he could sink his fangs into her hands, but Adira shifted and made sure he bit down on her forearm guards instead. He tried in vain to twist his neck and throw her arms aside, biting down multiple times in search of a promising grip while continuing to scream his lungs out. Adira simply shook him off each time. When she saw the black rock scales progress over his shoulders and around his sides, she let him latch onto her arm properly. Using it as a third anchor point, Adira began shuffling backwards on her knees and pulled Hector towards herself, rolling him onto his belly. “Get his legs!”
At her demand, Edmund carefully grabbed Hector’s left leg and lifted it over his right leg, pushing gently against the man’s lower back as he did so. Adira waited until Hector was completely overturned to release his wrists and pull her arm from his mouth. Once he was freed from both their grips, Hector pushed himself up into a half-plank, shaking on his elbows and forearms, before falling flat on the floor. He was still screaming, sobbing audibly with his fists clenched by his head, which was turned to face Adira. The woman’s gaze flicked between his tear streaked face and the black rock scales that washed over his back and shoulders. They even extended down to cover his upper arms, stopping just above his elbows. The two waves met at his spine and merged together, and at last, the Moondrop was satisfied.

Edit: please don’t let my experience sway you from downloading the game, I had no intention of that happening while sharing this. Overall I recommend the game if you love a good otome, minus my situation it’s one of the best and only otome games that’s made me cry!
Calling the IkemenVampire community please please read this post I’m begging it feels like I’m going crazy.
Has anyone experienced Leonardo’s and Vincent’s fourth wall break? I googled everything I could about it and I don’t see a single thing posted about it.
Background on me(relevant for Vincent’s part): I’m an editor so I was saving the photos for edits now onto the story.
this is pre Covid so a lot is paraphrased but please hear me out I never got over this + Vincent’s incident scared me away from the game for good.
Leonardo’s:
On my second run through of Leo’s route I was basically skimming through because I wanted the new photos and diamonds/whatever currency they gave and I got to the ballroom chapter and I loved that chapter so I was sorta skipping and skimming when I realized Leo was saying new and weird things
Very paraphrased but basically my dialogue option was “I hope this moment can last forever “ he replies “I hope it doesn’t, because if we relive the same memory over and over again it’ll get stale” sounds pretty basic until the background around his sprite went black. Then like he was directly talking to ME THE PLAYER was implying that I couldn’t keep playing this/the game repeatedly because it has to end sometime like for my own good.
I don’t remember much after that mainly because it was mad late and I was STUNNED speechless.
Vincent’s:
This is the reason I stopped playing this game.
{lil extra bit I remembered;
This was when Vincent’s route was about to come out, I was very excited to play his route I was watching the trailer and looking everywhere to learn more about him and I found something like “equip x characters power(?)” *Im really sad I can’t fully remember this part but it was like a gatcha mini game where you could choose a power that was related to the character
I got Jeans, issacs, and I want to say Vincent’s. I think I equipped Jeans power because I absolutely loved his character design & personality but either way it had something to do with a characters eye? Okay}
-
I played his little sneak peek and it was going GREAT until it cut to the scene where he had something that looked like blood (probably red paint) on his face and he started saying “you’re mine right…?” Like yandere shit
THEN continuing onwards we were in a garden and normal dialogue and his background goes black “you did something wrong, and you’re going to fix it” I wish I screen recorded this shit y’all cause I know mfs aren’t going to believe me “tomorrow you’re going to log back on and re agree to the terms and conditions at 12:00 Japanese time” his background is still black, my game crashes I’m traumatized, I re open the game and it says “come back at 12:00 Japanese time and accept the terms of service” I close the app and delete it.
I don’t think I’ve ever been scared like that in my entire fucking life, I went from playing a sneak peek of a cute vampire boys route to detailed and direct instructions on how to not mess up my second chance. I was genuinely terrified I’m about to piss my self from laughing looking back on it but that scared me away from otome games for 2 years.
The worst part is nobody has said a word about this happening to them, I hope I dreamed this because I actually love IkemenVampire, one of the best otomes out there. Imagine this happening to you when you’re barely 15 at an ungodly hour at night, I know what they’re talking about, I had 2-3 IkemenVampire edits that had the screenshots Vincent was hinting at on my Instagram page. I’m surprised I didn’t piss myself.
Reblogs are appreciated, my hunt is older than the lockdown. Help me find Zen and tell me your stories if this happened to you too.
Thank you for you time.
Edit: again please don’t let my experiences scare you from the game! I’ve ultimately moved on from this experience and just want to know if anyone else experienced something similar.
I’m actually quite impressed with how their coding deals with rule breakers and my respect for the game + game devs went up, give this game a try if you haven’t!!!!.
#please respond yall#i haven’t seen peace since this happened#please tell me it was a fever dream#gaslight me#i swear on my life#i am not copy pasting or making a creepy pasta yall#everytime I think about it it unsettles me#IkemenVampire is the best horror game#that is some amazing coding and I’m not even mad at them#IkemenVampire#ikemen vampire#ikémen vampire#ikemen memes#otome game#ikemen vincent#ikemen leonardo#ikemen series#ikemen games#english otome#long post

Whats actually happened between you and taemaknae? I read about it on the tea blog and still confused
This is an insanely long story so I'm going to put it below the cut so for anyone interested in this absolute shit show, continue on.
Essentially, I posted these headers about a month ago:
It was a set of like 8 colours and it was the first time I had ever posted any headers or anything. The issue nic had with these, was the ripped paper bottom. Because apparently you can trademark that. I had asked a (now ex) “friend” of mine if she knew where I could find the ripped paper effect because I had seen the effect on the header of her network blog and I had been trying to find a similar thing for months and google images never gave me anything good. She ended up referring me to google images anyways and after like an hour of dedicated searching, I found this ripped paper effect and used it. This ex “friend” went on to tell another friend of mine that I had "asked where nicole gets her resources for her headers" and then screenshotted my dm as "proof", which still confuses me because I never mentioned nicole there lmao. I've seen the screenshot.
Tell me where I said nicole. It was literally just a question born from seeing the header they had on their network lmao. I feel it’s important to mention I didn’t know this person ran said network at that time, which is why i said “these people”.
This other friend then came to me and just said my headers "may be seen as similar to nic's” and said she noticed it on her own and never mentioned my other “friend” approaching her. I was confused because other than that ripped paper effect that I know many people on tumblr use, I saw no similarities. Nic's headers are usually more complex and more than just a coloured background with a little effect in it. I just wanted to make some simple headers for fun because I was bored. But, regardless, I messaged nic about it to make sure she didn't feel the same way. I told her a friend of mine was worried nic might think my headers are similar to her's and I assured her that if she found them similar I would take them down, no questions asked. Nic told me she was surprised this friend brought it up and told me that it was entirely up to me if I found the headers similar. She never once told me she felt they were the same, never mentioned anything about them, she insisted it was up to me to do as I pleased. So, since I genuinely found no similarities, I left them up.
About a week went by and things between nic and I were fine, or so I thought, based off the fact that she was interacting with my posts, sending me cute asks and replying to a lot of my comments and stuff being kind and whatnot. Then, I decided to post a small list of my creations and the series I had running at the time.
After that, all of a sudden I got an influx of rude hate anons:
To anyone I mentioned the anons to, they agreed with me, you cannot trademark circular icons. This anon also accused me saying “just the fact that you had an anxiety attack about it proves you copied them” Like no sweetie, it’s called three strangers walked into my house and I got anxious.
Despite me not seeing the issue, I messaged nic, assuming she wouldn't care about the icons (it wasn't like I was taking her exact work and copying and pasting them as my own) and that made her very upset. When she responded to me, she was incredibly heated and gave off the vibe she was waiting for me to message her about it.
She said things like "this has actually been bothering me for a while", "i expected you to be able to read between the lines and delete the headers", "i don't know who that anon was but clearly they recognize my style". For starters, she never told me that she was annoyed with me, she was being very kind to me publicly. And I have no idea how I was meant to “read between the lines” of what she said especially considering how kind she was to me the following days. I also never accused her of knowing this anon, she just insisted it wasn't her and she didn't know them right off the bat. She also insinuated that I copied my gifs from others as well, which ticked me off because I made my 100+ layer psd myself thank you very much. But I kept my cool, and I told her I had no idea she felt the way she did, and I told her I would delete the headers (which i did as the conversation was going on), and that I would stop posting my icons and bringing attention to them because no one ever paid it any mind before that point. And I asked her “please tell me straight up the next time you have an issue with me because I am generally pretty dumb with social cues”, I have my adhd to thank for that. And instead of replying, she just blocked me. And conveniently, the hate anons stopped dead right after we blocked each other and I haven't received any since.
Also, these are the kinds of icons I posted:
Looks pretty generic and idk, universal, right?
Then, as I've recently found out today, she was in an "anti-loverjimin" groupchat with at least 2 other bloggers.
Which explains why this all went and fell into place. I know who the two other bloggers are because of what happened two days later but I won't name them just yet, but these two people had been "friends" with me for several months. So, a day or two after nic blocked me, all of a sudden some good friends of mine were blocking me and not talking to me when I asked what was going on. I found out soon after it was because nicole and those two now ex “friends” of mine had taken old dms I sent them and were showing them to people. And I will go into detail about them but I won't name the people they are about for privacy reasons.
Before I move on, to clarify some lies nic has been spreading about me, I never once shit talked nicole to my friends. One of these ex friends also said I was trying to get people on my side. I would have reacted to this all very very differently if that were the case. I would be dragging everyone through the fucking dirt but I don't get off on drama or micromanaging what my mutuals do. My issues are with these people, if you're still friends with them that's your decision i could not care less. So, back to it, the only thing I said about nic was that she and I had a stupid small fight over icons and that she was spreading lies about me, based off of what nic said to jordan.
That exact message, or slight variations of it, was sent to anyone I interacted with because I didn't know if nic was going to stop at jordan or try and get to everyone I fucking knew lmao. Some of the people I messaged this to told ME nic had done this kind of thing before, that she has sent hate anons, launched hate campaigns, cancelled people, etc. Over stupid shit like icons lmao.
Here are some responses I received after I mentioned nicole:
And nic or one of her friends also took it upon themselves to send anons to that tea blog to blow shit up and named everyone and made it an even bigger mess when they saw no one was actively trying to fight me after the dms got out.
I also love that in this following ask, they named my two “friends” that were behind the whole dm drama and backstabbed me, as well as two other people I never badmouthed, that story was twisted. But we’ll get into those details shortly.
And she also told people I clout chased big blogs and only cared about notes. At one point, yes, I did care a lot about my statistics. However, never once did I think clout chasing was worth my fucking time or energy, Nic is the biggest clout chaser on this damn site and there are receipts of that, ask jordan lmao. And I couldn’t give two shits about my statistics anymore lmao, much less anxiety that way. Do I still crave validation sometimes? Sure. But it's not a driving force of my tumblr experience like it used to be.
But, moving on to the dms, the first one was sent when I first came back to tumblr full-time and didn't understand why people self reblogged things, I found the pretence of self reblogging annoying and greedy and I complained about it and it was a comment fuelled by two bloggers that i would see sr a lot on my dash. But I never thought THEY were annoying, as these people are saying I did, it was self reblogging I found annoying and as you can see I have come to understand why people sr and I do it myself too. I didn't even know these two bloggers at this time either. That dm was cropped to hide the fact that this "friend" agreed with me and hid the date as well so it seemed recent, and was sent to one of the bloggers I mentioned as an example, someone I had since become good friends with.
I didn’t befriend one of the people I mentioned there until mid to late June. That friendship is now over thanks to this drama and all the lies. The second friend of mine they went after was never spoken about in dms, they went and turned her against me through lies and manipulation so that friendship has ended too. And while those two were doing that, nic went off to try and turn jordan against me.
There was a particular user on here that I did say some nasty things about but we weren't friends, as many people have been made to believe. I was particularly mad at this person in those dms and was hurtful, I admit, and I have since apologized and owned up to all of it to these people. I did call them fake and/or two-faced.
And what in the gassing me up bullshit was their response though lmao. I also sent this following dm before I even talked about the issue with this person. They urged me to continue and to name drop the person, and I stupidly thought they were trustworthy.
My reasoning for what I said wasn't unwarranted though, I don't make a habit of going around shit-talking people, unless they do something to me first. I vent when I am upset and this person had sent me a passive aggressive ask and then denied sending it when I asked and I thought that was just very fake, especially since she was so kind to me in dms before the ask came in. But all of these dms were cropped too to hide timestamps and responses, and in most cases, like those screenshots prove, these "friends" either gassed me up or egged me on to continue ranting or to name the people i was mad at and they had agreed with me on several, several occasions. Turns out they were trying to get dirt on me to use in their cancel campaign. But the point is, nic has made me out to be this horrible person that befriends "big blogs" (an overrated statement) and then shit talks them behind their back without remorse. Yet it was one person I said rude things about and I, again, owned up to it all and apologized to them the first day. I would've done it sooner had I a) remembered feeling the way I did all those months ago or remembered the dms themselves or b) felt that way still after meeting them. But neither is the case.
I find it really amusing though that these people wanted things to be kept quiet and didn’t want anyone they spoke to to talk to me about it because I was going to “out them on my blog” and “make a big scene”, then they three went and made it a big fucking scene and ruined my friendships. I’m familiar with this pattern of manipulation as it has happened to me in real life before and it’s the most childish bullshit to witness.
Before this callout day for nic, I had never once been directly rude to or about her, same goes for those ex “friends” that betrayed my trust and friendship. The fact that they plotted against me in a group chat while still actively talking to me and being all buddy buddy is just disgusting. Both of them were talking to me that day at the same time they were sharing the dms and shit-talking me to my friends. But yeah, that's my side, the untwisted side, of the whole story. I tried to be mature and talk to nic and when I didn't do what she wanted me to do, she blocked me and launched the hate campaign with dms and the power of photoshop. I’ve been hesitant to make any of this public because it was meant to be a silent ordeal but I’ve grown tired of her constantly publicizing everything without consequence while I remain silent like I promised.
#anon#replied💌#tw:negativity#drama#long post#read at your own risk aha#its a shit show#idc if you rb it#pinning temporarily for the next day(sih)#ish*#edited with screenshots and whatnot that i forgot i had on my phone lmao

Long post: Being young in the TCC
I wanna talk about those under the age of 18+ in this community. It will not be any form of slander directed at the teens and younger teens in this community, just merely my observation and personal experiences. For reference, I was born at the end of 1999. (I’m not super ancient but enough)
I grew up being into the paranormal, cryptozoology, mythology, so it isn’t a big shock that I eventually have fallen down this rabbit hole of a true crime wonderland I’m in now.
I was about 7-10 years old when I would recall overhearing conversations my parents were having with my “grandparents.” (Ignore the quotations, it’s a long story) I never forgot hearing them talk about, who I now know was Jeffrey Dahmer, a man who had body parts in his fridge and trash bags of body parts. They would have a few cocktails and talk about notorious criminals often. Something about it stuck with me and I did ask questions, but they never answered more than likely due to my age and their belief that I might lack understanding.
Around age 11/12, I was introduced to this band, Blood on the Dance floor. (Yes, we both know…) Anyways, if you were a fellow emo or scene kid back in the day, you may recall Bryan Stars Interviews, some little twinky kid who’d interview all the edgy bands. I was watching an interview with the band i stated earlier, and one of the front men recited a quote/meme (not entirely sure where it came from) which was a parody of “Call me Maybe,” the top song of the year.
It went:
“Hey I just met you, and this is crazy. But here’s my basement, I’m John Wayne Gacy”
Within the second I heard that, my little preteen fingers scrambled to Google. That’s when I found out he was a serial killer, in which lead me to Jeffrey Dahmer. From there, I was hooked. I spent hours watching documentaries, movies, reading books, trying to learn everything about Jeff. You can say I was THAT person. I was so utterly obsessed over the crime and person, down to the point where I knew his inmate number by heart.. yeesh.
That’s when I started to discover what true empathy felt like. As we know, there’s a big deal over the romanticism of killers online and in research. As a kid, I didn’t know any better. I felt this strange pity for Dahmer. Looking at it now, as an adult, it was because I myself was in a bad place at the time and I happened to know what it felt like to be lonely per say. I understood what he did was wrong and couldn’t be justified, but that overwhelming sorrow I felt was immense.
Though, I was also so young and immature to the point where I didn’t understand the emotions those who confronted Dahmer in the court room over their loved ones and cracked jokes about it. I get comments replying, to this day, to my HORRIBLE in taste comments on YouTube videos I made when I was 11/12 and delete them in horror of what I said. I didn’t know how to empathize with the victims then.
Around that time, deep into my Dahmer obsession, Sandy Hook destroyed my state. ( Wont disclose my location obviously, but will say I personally knew people who lost loved ones that day). My 13th birthday was just around the corner, two days to be exact, when the shooting happened. I also won’t go into detail about where I was, what I thought, and so on that day; it’s a whole separate post I would make. But that that the moment I kinda snapped back to reality.
From there on my interest disappeared for a while. Only being able recalling odd situations I’ve been in where other criminals where being discussed in conversation; for example when I was a sophomore in high school attending a spoken word poetry type deal with my class. A young male, my age or an upperclassmen, read a poem about bullying. I do not recall anything from that session, but a loose sentence from his poem.
“Bullying can affect others mental health immensely. Take Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold for example”
I never thought anything of it, nor do I remember the whole poem, but that stuck with me, a victim of poor mental health and bullying myself.
Time skip to the summer after I graduated to really set my point in. I wanted to just add my personal experience with being very young and intrigued by true crime before I came to the age group the majority of people in this community are.
I was fresh out of high school, two months exactly. I partied like it was 1999 all over again that whole summer, into fall, and into the next year. My friend and I came back into my room after a long night of smoking weed and having a few drinks. We had just lost our friend to, what was labeled as murder, but became involuntary manslaughter, and talked about him.
I owned an ouija board. (Yes, you may think this is going where you think it’s going… it is kinda.) Like I said earlier, I loved the paranormal, so of course I owned one of these. My friend pulled it out of my closet said we should talk to our friend. Which we tried, got kinda spooked in a fun way, and lead to us joking about ghosts.
She ended up bringing up Ted Bundy, which sparked my whole memory of my Dahmer days. We talked about it for a while before binging court clips on YouTube. I’m pretty sure y’all know how YouTube will roll over to the next video in your recommended; well as we finished, I noticed YouTube was rolling over to a video called “Hitmen for Hire.” The second it started playing I was confused. I thought it was some stupid video someone uploaded online, and never thought anything of it until I saw, who I know now was Eric, start screaming at the camera. I had this weird feeling that I recognized him from somewhere, almost like one of those “we’ve met before” moments. But at this time I had really no prior knowledge about Columbine what so ever. I googled the names in the description and was hooked on what the fuck went down. I’m talking about full on deep dive research that was nonstop. My researching lead me to this community.
You still with me? Wow, i’m impressed. Here’s a gold star ⭐️
I joined the tcc tumblr at the ripe age of 17 and I never turned back. My life drastically changed immediately after that. I won’t go into major detail to as what, but I was absolutely downright stupid, but was “enabled” by my vast following I conjured in the small span of a year. Im talking typical columbiner stuff, minus the “I’m in love with ___ or ___”, adopting the shitty ideologies, and never disrespected the victims. (No hate to those who do say they love them, it just was/is pure platonic love here)
I was deeply obsessed with Eric, it became so bad, on top of my heavy drug/alcohol use and the slow titrating off my cocktail of medications at the time, that I was subconsciously unaware I was molding myself into a weird imagined version of Eric that was in my head. Actually more like this “REB” character. A “REB kinnie” almost if you must. I let the case or mostly Eric himself, swallow me into this deep abyss.
I was consumed, as consumed as one can get. I was fighting with people in the community over the absolute dumbest shit, being pinned as a horrible person, bullied relentlessly, and practically targeted for the smallest things. I noticed this behavior and “mold” after something made me snap into a fit of anger. I really had to look at myself in the mirror and remember who the fuck I was, and who I wanted/needed to become.
Eric stood out to me way more than Dylan did. Eric and I, in a metaphorical way, are “connected.” (We’re not talking spirituality here, logically and mentally) I saw the world through the same eyes as him, not to the extreme extents and poor in taste rants, but similar. It was like for once there was someone out there who just understood. Somebody who mirrored my reflection back to me. That’s why I felt so attached.
This pattern/behavior stopped after doing some self reflecting before I sent my ass out to Colorado in 2018. I visited the memorial, grave sites, saw their former homes, and school. My whole perspective truly changed. From there, I took a break from the tcc. I left for a whole year and returned with a sincere apology for my behavior. I was on the tumblr and Instagram side of the tcc at this point, mostly ignoring my tumblr. I truly did not return to the tcc until May of 2020 when I joined tcc Twitter, now have been on it coming to about 2 years, and returning to tumblr late this year.
What I want you all to take from this, especially if you’re within the 14-18 age range. You need to learn how to detach. It is 100% okay to feel the way you feel, it’s okay to relate to your “Fave” or topic/person of interest. But you cannot let it consume you. You do not have to feel like you need to dress like them, be interested in the same things, or even talk/spread the same belief system as them to be accepted by others or feel closer to them. I do not want any of you to fall victim to that mindset I did. The worst part of this, and the biggest thing I want to make clear, is that sometimes you don’t even recognize this behavior in yourself since it’s subconscious or even conscious. It’s because you conditioned yourself or lead yourself to believe what is going on is normal behavior for you. You don’t recognize that the interest has had an effect on you since you’re so consumed by it.
You will look back on this, if you decided to stick around longer, and just want to slap yourself. I can already hear the typical “I won’t be here when I’m an adult,” “it’s really not that serious, I won’t care” already. Yes…. You will. Maybe not immediately, oh but you will..
Another word of advice to my younger mutuals, it’s okay to make friends, but be super weary with who you’re talking to and how you talk to them. You never know if someone is out to harm you. It’s okay to be mutuals with an adult as teen. As long as they’re not actively engaging in red flag behavior, grooming for example, toward you or anyone in that age group, you’re fine.
I see my younger mutuals as siblings, If you need advice I’m here. You can practically ask me anything. (Just don’t tell me any details about your “private time/life” I’m an adult, yes I’ve been there too, but I don’t need to know.) God forbid one of you needed a plan b for example, I would go out of my way to help you obtain it so you don’t have to have that embarrassing talk with mom or dad.
Overall, I and many other older veterans here truly care about you. If you’re spiraling, need help, anything. Talk to one of us you trust. You’re not alone, and you’re not the first to go through an edgy phase or your hardships.

writer tag game wooooo
thanks @palimpsessed and @captain-aralias for the tags!!
a few tags.. @urban-sith @snowybank @tea-brigade @seducing-a-vampire @xivz @facewithoutheart @unseelieseelie @motherscarf @stillmadaboutpetra but as always i love reading these so lie and say i tagged u if u wanna do it!!
How many works do you have on AO3? 17, 15 of which are for simon snow series What’s your total AO3 word count? 97,953 How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? ive published for three! simon snow, check please, and one direction. ive also written some steve/bucky that never went anywhere. What are your top five fics by kudos? In black ink my love may still shine bright Want to mark you up (e-rated part two to "In black ink.."!) Nothing Equals the Splendor a bully and a snob and a complete arsehole Light Me Up
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I try to but if too many come in at a time i get overwhelmed haha. that's only happened a few times tho, toward the end of my multi-chap when people were subscribed and ready. i love replying to comments bc i write a lot more than i post — if something makes it to ao3, that means i really like the story! and if people want to talk to me about it, that's like.. the best thing ever.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
i was gonna be like "oh i always give them a happy ending" but then ao3 told me — that's not true! Yellow was a lil deleted scene thing i did abt simon buying his yellow breakup stationery, so obviously the ending is big owie. and my humdrum fic, Hunger of the Shadow... i mean its a humdrum fic lol. idk which is angstier, its different types i guess.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
i got a comment that bothered me once that was like sort of judgmental abt a bit of my plot, and they were like "you should have done __ instead." and i was like ummmmmm... but not HATE i suppose.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
i wrote smut on my own once (Want to mark you up). i mostly wrote this one to capitalize on the horny momentum of In black ink my love may still shine bright, in which simon and baz go out to a bar, etc. also i wanted to make a joke about lamb hahahah.
then i did a few smut pieces with some pals via Frantic Fanfic. One of them, A for Effort, is actually technically my second most-kudos-ed fic, but it didn't feel right to claim it because Kay (xivz) did the heavy lifting on that one!
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Just the Frantic Fanfic stuff!
What’s your all time favorite ship?
i wanna say snowbaz because im elbow-deep in it right now, but i don't know! i've definitely written most for snowbaz, but i think that's just because i'm more confident of a writer now than i was in my other fandoms. i think ill always be a slut for a certain 1d ship that really embarrasses me but i like..... can't get over it lmfao. also steve/bucky comes back to haunt me quite often
What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?
i have a lot of wips that im determined to do, but it might be a while. i have one wip that is heavily rooted in a new england summer setting that i recently moved to my Graveyard folder on google drive because i was like... i don't think i can write this as well now that summer's over. the first sentence in that doc (which is entirely scrambled outline) is "this fic should smell like sunscreen." i will probably revisit next summer if im still around because im super invested in it. it's a childhood friends>rivals>friends>lovers with copious new englandisms, ghost hunting, simpard, explorations of guilt that are like super catholic (again: hello new england), queer identity stuff. i think shepard is a trans dude in that one too which was fun. idk!! this answer got long. it makes me more certain i will return to it lol.
What are your writing strengths?
hmmm probably like - earnest descriptions of emotion? like, if the character is going through something, im going to take you through allll the stages. i personally think im funny, which is what matters to me as my own reader lmfao. and i think i like to break them out of the usual settings and plotlines! i really like setting as a literary tool, thinking abt the obstacles that come wherever your characters are. im in the ideas stage of a road trip fic and i think that's going to be a really good way for me to flex there.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Sometimes dialogue, sometimes not. Elaborate plots that can't be tied to character development. I've said this before, but I find my writing to be quite plain in terms of syntax/word choice/etc... this is usually fine but sometimes my writing can get very like "action, thought, action, though, action, dialogue." idk. i dont know that i have a word for this, am open to suggestions.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?
i can only write in english!
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
one direction lol
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
pshhhhh....... i like really love everything ive published for the simon snow series so idk. im most emotionally invested in my multichap, Nothing Equals the Splendor. But also i had the most fun writing both Jump Up, Chosen One! (where they get stuck in a mario game lmfao) and Light Me Up (my stoner fic). theyre all my favorites for different reasons lmfao.
if you read this whole thing i love u. i put the read more cut in at the top and then i was like 'i can wax on as long as i want now" hahaha. i love talking abt writing and idc if it makes me self-absorbed i love my fics 😂

ok im kind of out of the loop but. WHAT happened with ryan??
this morning kiwifarms (notoriously second worst place on the internet) posted allegations about adam kovic exchanging nudes with someone catfishing as an underage girl. in this post they linked an entire google drive folder of explicit photos/vids that adam sent from a burner instagram account. the post also mentioned that some of the photos were of ryan.
true: adam sent hundreds of vids/photos to someone who is presumably Not His Wife. however: there is zero evidence the underage thing is true (i’ll elaborate later in the post) and none of the photos in that album were of ryan.
concurrently, someone on 4chan posted a photo they’d taken of their google drive that showed a screenshot of ryan sexting on instagram. the post was very alt righty (direct quote: roosterteeth the company that recently went ULTRA WOKE and started deleting “offensive” videos). they alleged that he was sending this stuff to underaged fans.
i’ll be honest, i thought the ryan stuff looked really thin. i thought it was weird that they’d taken a physical photo with their phone of their computer screen. i thought it was weird that it was on 4chan from people who defend vic with their life, i thought it was weird he was falsely wrangled into the adam stuff and i thought it was weird that it was one (1) screenshot from instagram that was NOT posted by the person who was receiving the messages.
my friend did some digging after this, and i’ll reblog her sourced post when she puts it together, but this is what she found:
in early september of 2020, one person uploaded all the adam photos that went around this morning + the ryan screenshot + a non public suggestive selfie of what they said was ryan (it was headless). they said they were a catfish. they said nothing about pretending to be underage. i’m inclined to believe the instagram screenshot is real because of this.
so at this point: adam stuff is real, ryan stuff is proooobably real, but there’s literally just one screenshot.
at about 8 pm tonight on twitter, someone started name searching ryan and replying to “the ryan allegations are obviously fake” with super explicit videos + pictures that were clearly ryan. a lot of them show his face, a lot of them show his streaming room. this is their allegation: “ryan’s been cheating on his wife for years, sending nudes, meeting up with young girls and having sex with them. they will come forward when they’re ready to do so.”
this account later clarified that they did NOT mean underage when they said young, and they have no knowledge of him sending photos to minors. i went through the account. it’s been around since may 2020, and they’ve been tweeting things (unrelated to ryan) since august. this isn’t a burner account created this weekend to fuck over ryan.
at this point: ryan stuff is like 100% true, and i will not be surprised when more comes out.
update as of 10/5/20 10 am: several people on twitter are backing up the allegations and saying ryan’s been sending explicit stuff to fans for years, since at least 2017. i dm-ed one of them and they allowed me to post our dms and their old photos for proof. link here.

i suddenly got this idea where izuku is an anonymous famous editor for youtubers who hire him to edit their videos because he’s a professional at doing it, and katsuki is an upcoming youtube vlogger who travels around the world and yet doesn’t know how to edit his own videos to save his life, so no matter what he does, he always seem to mess up even the basics of editing (part 1/??)
“i think you need professional help” kirishima says as he watches katsuki trying to drag an edited cut on to his video for the umpteenth time that day “shut up, shitty hair just give me a minute-” an error popup. “did you just.. deleted the video?” “....”
katsuki keeps trying, he even watched tutorials on youtube (while skipping important segments ofc because he can totally do that all on his own!) but his patience is wearing thin until kirishima recommended him to someone who’s known in the youtube community for their famous editing skills
“..deku?” katsuki stares at his screen showing a youtube profile with the name deku as their username and an icon of all might with edited-in sunglasses “okay look, he may seem suspicious to you, but i gotta tell you bakugou, he’s legit, i’ve seen his videos and they look awesome!” well katsuki will be the judge of that despite this deku having 5 mil+ subscribers than him!
the blonde spent the whole day watching deku’s videos which mostly consists of amvs (anime music videos) and games, especially the ones that required a lot of effort to make, plus he even made tutorials! so he gotta give him credit for that, but alas, katsuki is still somehow having trouble following directions and gave up on the latest tutorial video on how to add an easy transition
when kirishima came to check in with katsuki, all he heard were multiple clicks and grumbled noises, he let out an exasperated sigh “i can’t believe you’re still trying..” “what the fuck do you want me to do kirishima?” katsuki was trying not to flip his table at this point. “hire him obviously!” the red head yells out as if that’s the answer to their problems “..and how do you suppose i do that?”
it actually took a lot of convincing in kirishima’s part, but katsuki finally threw away his pride and decided to send a message to deku’s business email that was left under his about page on youtube
“..i want you to become my editor and help me in becoming the #1 youtube travel vlogger in the community” kirishima reads the message out loud that’s displayed on the screen, “you sure you want to send it like this?” “i don’t see anything wrong with it?” “but don’t you think it’s too.. blunt? no formalities or anything like, hello i’ve seen your videos and i would be honored to have you as my editor, you know?” katsuki just shrugged, “it’s too late, i already sent it to him”
about half a day later, deku replied back, “Good afternoon Mr.Explosionmurder, I appreciate that you requested me to become your editor and would like to discuss further details about our agreement via discord. You can contact me by adding my username, deku#2463. I look forward to hearing from you.” to this day, kirishima still can’t believe his eyes when he read the message
“oi shitty hair, what’s a discord?”
it wasn’t katsuki’s fault that the majority of time he spent in high school was doing his best to stay on top of assignments and projects, plus being in the A honor roll, he didn’t really get to decide on his career until after he graduated, thanks to the courtesy of his parents owning their own modeling industry, he put the money he saved up to good use in traveling around the world and vlogging it for people to see with kirishima as his traveling partner
he explained all of this and his reasonings to deku on discord once he reached out to him and figured out how to use the platform, but katsuki was still suspicious regarding his video editing skills and wanted to see it firsthand on how his videos would look like as a finished product
deku: fair enough, send me your videos and i’ll see what i can do, until then, if you deem it satisfactory, which i’m confident that you will, i request a 50/50 payment on your revenue. take it or leave it.
for some reason, katsuki agreed to it without a second thought due to the challenging tone from the message; “i can’t believe you! i told you to trust him! why do you have to doubt him?! haven’t you already seen his videos?!” kirishima was full on panicking at this point, how were they going to make money?! “shut up, i know what i’m doing! i know what’s best for my videos!” it was a good chance too since they’re currently in hong kong and planning to shoot the top 10 tourist spots to visit as claimed by an article he found online
a few days later, katsuki finally got all the videos piled up in one folder and sent them all in a google drive to share with deku just as he requested, he even mentioned to him thru discord message to follow the cues he was giving him on his videos such as when he and kirishima took a stroll and tried foods in the temple street night market; “hey deku, i want you to do a close up of kirishima eating the curry fish ball with erotic music playing in the background” he smirks while focusing the camera on the red head eating without a care in the world and not noticing katsuki making the comment, “mmm dude, mmm you gotta try this, it’s so freakin’ good- wait bro, how long have you been pointing the camera at me?”
in less than a week, deku sent a reply back with the link to the fully edited video; deku: hmm, not gonna lie, but your cues were actually helpful and dare I say, creative? katsuki took it as a compliment and opened the link to the video file, it was about a few GB so it shouldn’t take a long time to upload on youtube, but.. was it ready? he called in kirishima to watch it with him and was actually prepared for it to look horrible despite deku’s obvious talent except.. it was actually pretty good?? better even?! “what did i tell ya katsuki? i told you he was legit,” his partner boasted, just earlier he was embarrassed when the part about him eating the curry fish ball with the “let’s get it on” music in the background showed up while the blonde just rolled his eyes.
explosionmurder: thanks, and i just saw it, consider yourself hired deku: happy to be of service! i’m looking forward to working with you, mr.explosionmurder! it would be helpful again if you provided the cues during your journey! :) explosionmurder: don’t mention it and also don’t call me that, call me katsuki deku: okay, mr.katsuki! [all might emoji]
kastuki found it odd that he became really eager during the exchange but thought nothing of it
a couple of months flew by and katsuki with kirishima in tow have already travelled in 4 other different countries, he even received about 500k+ subscribers, he’s almost to 1 million! as per agreement, he gives half of his revenue to deku which was okay with him since he still has a lot of saved up money in the bank including kirishima’s since they’re sharing it anyway, most of the time, his communication with deku have been entirely professional with a few emojis in between (usually deku’s part), until today that is
deku: it must be nice to travel 0: explosionmurder: pfft, what are you talking about? you now have over 7 mil+ subscribers in your channel since i met you, you can go traveling whenever or wherever you want deku: i can’t explosionmurder: what do you mean you can’t?
no reply
since then, katsuki didn’t want to think too much on what deku said and focused mostly on traveling, those videos won’t work themselves! after he finished, he sent over the videos of his recent trip from india over to deku and as usual, deku delivered it back beautifully edited along with a message
deku: that’s so cool! you guys went to india? *o* [link to video edit] explosionmurder: yeah, you should’ve seen shitty hair when he tried that really spicy curry, which reminds me, you did what i asked right? deku: of course mr. katsuki! as always, i’ve paid attention to every cue you asked for! [saluting pepe emoji] explosionmurder: good good, i didn’t just hire you to sit on your ass all day deku: haha you’re not my only contractor you know ^^” explosionmurder: is that what you meant when you said you couldn’t travel because you’ve been busy? way to be blunt katsuki, he mentally berated himself, but at least deku answered this time, although reluctantly deku: ...let’s just say im stuck at home in that very moment, is when everything changed between them explosionmurder: alright nerd, you sound depressed as hell so i’m going to give you the decision to decide on where we’re going to travel to next, think of it as a reward for all you’ve done for us deku: asdkjflas that’s too much! T_T are you sure mr. katsuki??? explosionmurder: i’m waiting, you got 3 seconds starting now, 3 deku: america! i’ve been wanting to go to america...
katsuki told kirishima his plans, then the spiky red head gave him a pat on the back and a thumbs up, “so you do have a sentimental bone in your body!” kirishima was almost close to being dead that very same day
when they arrived to america, he asked deku the list of things he wanted to see and most of them were, “all might amusement park, all might cafe, all might- is there anything else the nerd likes besides all might and superheroes?” katsuki says while viewing the list in the hotel they’re staying at. “give him a break, you said so yourself that he couldn’t leave his house, so this is the least we can do for him and for all the hard work he put in our videos,” kirishima reasoned with him
on the last day of their trip, katsuki did his routine in piling the videos together and sending them to deku with the attached message, “i actually bought you a souvenir if you want it, looked like the type of shit you would like, you’ll see what it is in the videos i’ve sent you” they’ve known each other long enough so he thought why the hell not, it’s just a matter of getting his PO address, and the response to this was immediate, “AAA I SAW IT! THANK YOU THANK YOU!” <3<3 <(^w^<)
it was an all might limited edition figurine only available in the US
for the first time, deku took two days longer to finish than katsuki expected him to since they’ve started because he always goes through them pretty quickly, maybe he’s too busy making them look up-to-par? whatever the case was, when katsuki received the video, it already had a title for it, “MY AWESOME TRIP TO AMERICA PLUS ULTRA!” kirishima just laughed and told him to keep it in honor of deku so he left it like that, “this better give me some views,” he grumbled and uploaded it the night before they went to bed, he wasn’t really worried in checking it out either because he has faith in deku’s abilities
the morning after was hectic, katsuki has been receiving notifications upon notifications on the “travel bros” (courtesy of kirishima) twitter since last night, one in particular caught his eye, “i can’t believe deku and katsuki are dating! who would’ve thought!” what?
a short video appeared underneath that came from the video he uploaded, and regretfully never took a look at, showing katsuki saying to the camera as he held the AM figurine, “deku, you should’ve been here, look at what i got you, nerd,” at first glance, it was supposed to look normal (from the original video!) except hearts and sparkles began appearing around katsuki as he smirks up at the camera, what the fuck? besides, deku was suppose to edit that all out! for every cue in every part where he says deku’s name, he was expected to delete them like he usually does! even though it was no secret that deku was his video editor, he distinctly remembers mentioning about him in a video they took way back when they first started out their contract agreement
meanwhile, kirishima was having a field day, he finally saw their video while katsuki kept on seeing other short videos of him on twitter from different segments of the trip in which he either had sparkles or hearts around him, especially when he mentions deku’s name; “bro you won’t believe this, our subscribers grew up to over 1 million last night!” kirishima yells enthusiastically, but when he noticed katsuki not paying attention to him, he looked over his shoulder to check what he was looking at. “oh that, you know those aren’t fanmade videos, right?” katsuki unblinkingly turned to look at him, “you mean..?” kirishima gave him a toothy grin, “yep!”
a video call from discord, “dekuuuu, what is the meaning of this?” a squeaky voice, “i-I’m so sorry i got carried away and i couldn’t help it! all might was too beautiful including you and-!” “..what did you just say?”
TBC maybe?

So accidentally read this ask wrong from @positivecorrelation, and thought it was about them ending their beef, went with that, and wrote everything below this. I just rechecked the ask and realised what you were asking for. I will make it work.
I don’t have a set headcanon on how they make up, but one of my favorite ideas is that Cassie, and Hailie team up to end the feud. So I started writing an entire fic, but I really wanted to post this so here is the headcanon and most of the fic.
Cassie convinces MGK to apologise to Hailie, not her dad, since he wronged her first. She does it with perfect little kid logic, and Kelly wants to not only be a good dad but also a good example for his daughter, so he apologises to Hailie.
Hailie would be really happy she received an apology, and would decide that if a 9 year old can convince her dad to apologise, maybe together, and with a little outside help, they can get this feud to end.
This takes place sometime late February 2019.
Cassie hated that her dad was in a feud with Eminem. A lot of people are being mean, harassing him when he goes out, and booing him when he does ‘Rap Devil’. She has noticed that her dad isn’t as happy, and is acting different. He is sleeping more and more.
Cassie had an idea to help him though. If her dad apologises to Eminem’s daughter then that should make things better, not perfect, but it was a starting point. First she needs to find her dad, so she can convince him that he needs to apologise to hailie. She finds him easily enough in the living room, working on a song.
She starts by asking about the beef, and why they are fighting. Then she asked if he apologized, which she knows he did, but to the wrong person.
“But dad, but your tweet was about his daughter, not him. Shouldn’t you have apologized to Hailie instead?” Cassie asks.
Kelly freezes, thinking about what his daughter said. His tweet was about Hailie. She was the one he insulted, but he tried to apologize to Eminem. He never thought about how his comment affected her. If some kid had said something rude to his daughter, he would expect them to apologize to her.
“You’re right Cassie. I should have apologized to Hailie.”
“Then why don’t you? I bet she would appreciate it.”
“It’s a little too late for that now, pumpkin.”
“It’s never too late to say you’re sorry.”
“It’s a little more complicated than that.”
“No it’s not. You made a mistake, you acknowledged you made a mistake, now you just need to tell her you're sorry, and that you won’t do it again. See simple.”
“You are right again, sugar bean. How did you get so smart?” Kelly asks as he scoops his daughter up, as she breaks out into a fit of giggles.
Later that night, after he has put Cassie to bed, Kelly thinks about what she said. He really should apologize to Hailie for his tweet, but how could he get in contact with her. It’s not like Eminem, or anyone close to her will help him, and a public apology will look like a copout after all the feuding he and Em have done.
“Fuck. I can’t set a bad example for Cassie.”
He scrolls through his contacts on his phone, until he sees Travis Barker’s name. ‘Maybe he can give me some advice.’ He checks the clock; it was only 10:30, Travis should still be up.
After two rings he picks up
“Hey Kelly. What’s up?”
“Do you know a way I can get in touch with Eminem’s daughter Hailie?”
“Why do you want to get in contact with Hailie Scott?” Travis asks threateningly.
“I just want to apologise to her, nothing else. My daughter was asking about my feud with Eminem, and asked why I apologised to him, and not Hailie, since it was Hailie I tweeted about. I thought about what she said and it’s a good point. I wronged Hailie, therefore I need to apologise to Hailie, but I have no idea how.”
“So why call me?”
“For advice.”
“Okay. Let’s think. You could try DMing her”
“I highly doubt she would read a DM from me, if she hasn’t out right blocked me on everything.”
“Right. No one will probably give you her phone number. So maybe write her a letter.”
“A letter really. Even if I do write her a letter, I don’t have an address to send it to.”
“I can actually help with that. You just write the letter. I’ll take care of the rest.”
“Okay, a letter it is.”
“Oh and Kelly, you better be telling the truth about this. I don’t mind helping you, but if this is just a way to get to Eminem by using Hailie, or something like that, I will personally drive your career into the ground.”
“Don’t worry Travis I am serious about this. I’ll leave the envelope unsealed so you can read it before it’s sent off.”
“Okay. Call me when you’re done.”
Kelly puts his phone down, grabs pen and paper, and starts drafting his letter.
It’s harder than he thought it would. Swallowing his pride, admitting his faults, and humbling himself is hard, but he finally does, and the letter shows his regret for his actions. Now he just has to find that nice stationary someone gifted him.
******
Hailie was sick and tired of all the attention she has been getting from her dad’s feud with Machine Gun Kelly. She prefers the quiet life she was making for herself, but now she barely got a moment of peace. What makes it even worse is that she has never seen her dad so angry, worrying that things will escalate beyond diss tracks and insults. Hailey doesn’t want anything bad to happen to her dad, because he feels obligated to defend her honor.
She knows her father’s beef with MGK isn’t just about the tweet Kelly posted back in 2012 about her being hot when she was 16, (Kelly says he didn’t know how old she was at the time), and that it was more about how disrespectful MGK was to her dad, saying he was better than her dad, and claiming how Eminem was hindering his career, banning him from Shade 45, and whatnot, but she was tired of this shit. Yeah MGK was a prideful idiot, who was full of himself, but her dad did block him from Shade 45, and some of his friends have decided not to associate with Kelly. When Kelly really did try to talk to Eminem in private, and end their feud, he threw it back in the blonds face, making Machine Gun Kelly double down, and release that diss track, ‘Rap Devil’. Her dad then destroyed him with ‘Killshot’.
While going through her mail, she notices a letter. She couldn’t think of who would send her a letter. Maybe it was a former classmate, or a thank you card. Shrugging she opens the envelope, and pulls out the paper inside.
The letter read,
Hailie,
I am sorry for the tweet I posted in 2012 about you being ‘sexy as fuck’, making you uncomfortable, and for apologising to your dad instead of you.
When I posted the tweet I didn’t know you were only sixteen, and when I found out your age I should have taken it down immediately, and apologized to you, but I didn’t. Instead I made a half assed apology to your dad, who I should have apologised to anyway, but for a different reason.
My daughter helped me see my mistakes, and convinced me that it’s not too late to apologise for what I did. I am going to set a better example for her. I have deleted the tweet, and I promise to never do something like that again. I will make a public apology, if that helps you, or if there is something else you need me to do, please tell me. I want to make up for what I did to you.
I was wrong for what I did, and what you had to deal with because of my actions.
I know I don’t deserve it, and that you in no shape or form have to give it to me, but I would like to ask for your forgiveness.
Sincerely,
Colson Baker, (A.K.A. Machine Gun Kelly)
Hailie was shocked. Machine Gun Kelly sent her a handwritten letter, to apologise for something he did years ago. No one else who had targeted and dissed her has ever apologised to her. Her dad sure, but never her. She rereads it just to make sure.
She opens up twitter, and the tweet is gone. Looking back at the letter, Hailie smiles. Maybe Machine Gun Kelly wasn’t as bad as she thought. She did want to know how he got her address though.
Going back to her phone, she reopens twitter, and goes to Machine Gun Kelly’s profile. She unblocks him, before opening her DMs.
I got your letter. How did you get my address? - Hailie
A few minutes later she got a reply.
I’m glad you got my letter. Don’t worry I don’t have your address. I gave the letter to Travis Barker. He’s the one who got a hold of your address. - MGK
Hailie frowns at her phone. Who was Travis Barker? His name sounds familiar. After a quick google search, she sees he is the drummer for Blink-182, and that he probably got it from Paul Rosenberg. Okay that made her feel better. Going back to twitter, she sees that she has a new message.
Would you mind if I told my daughter that you got my apology letter? - MGK
Hailie thinks about it before typing her reply.
Yeah, go ahead, I don’t mind if you tell her. This doesn’t mean that I forgive you though. - Hailie
I understand, and thank you. Again I am sorry for my tweet, and dragging you into this beef. - MGK
Hailie doesn’t respond. She debates whether or not to reblock MGK, but decides against it. He really did seem remorseful for what he did, and is trying to change to be better for his daughter. That gets Hailie thinking, if Machine Gun Kelly’s daughter can convince him that he needs to apologize to her, and not her dad, then maybe together they can get their dad’s to stop fighting.
Hailie has a plan to end this stupid feud, get her dad from being so angry all the time, and hopefully get her peaceful life back. She will need Cassie’s help, and a few other people too, for this to work. First thing she does is call up Paul Rosenberg.
“This is Paul.”
“Hey, Paul this is Hailie. Do you have a second?”
“Sure. What can I do for you?”
“First are you with my dad.”
“No. Should I be?”
“No, it’s better if he isn’t around for this. Did you give my address to Travis Barker?”
“No, he gave me the letter to mail. I didn’t read it though. He said it was something important, and asked me not to read it. Is everything okay? Was there something in there I should Know about?”
“The letter was important, and you did the right thing trusting him. I just wanted to know how he got my address.”
“Okay, I’m glad my judgement was good, but this has me a little worried. Will you tell me what the letter was about?”
Hailie debates whether or not to tell him. On one hand the letter was an apology to her, she doesn’t have to tell anyone about it. On the other hand, if she tells Paul nothing, he might tell her dad about it in concern, which would ruin her plans. She makes her decision.
“It was a handwritten apology letter from Machine Gun Kelly.”
There is a moment of silence before Paul responds. “WHAT!”
“You heard me. He apologized for the tweet he posted about me, making me uncomfortable, apologising to my dad instead of me, and for dragging me into this stupid feud. He even deleted the tweet.”
Hailie can hear Paul tapping on his phone, probably checking to see if it was really deleted. “Damn, he really did delete it. Do you know what brought this on?”
“Yeah, his daughter.”
“Okay, makes sense.”
“So you know how you have been trying to get my dad to end this feud with him, well this gave me an idea. I just need to know if you are in.”
“I’m listening.”
“If Cassie can change her dad’s mind, then I should be able to do the same with my dad, right? Right. So I need you to do a couple of things. I need a way to get in contact with Cassie, and her mom. I will also need you to back me up later on.”
“Okay I can probably get in touch with Cassie, and her mom. Give me a few days. And I will back you up but I will need more details.”
“I will tell you the details later. I need to make a few more calls.
Next people she recruits are Alaina and Whitney. They have noticed how agitated Eminem has been lately, and agree to help with her plan. He also ropes in Travis Barker, Tommy Lee and Elton John, to help them too.
Paul came through with Emma’s, Cassie’s mom, phone number, and an understanding that Emma will listen to her idea, but she decides if Cassie is involved.
Hailie explains her plan. She and Cassie were going to convince their dad’s to meet, in hopes of ending the beef. Colson already tried once, but Em turned it down. This is where Cassie came in. She needed to convince her dad that he should try again, that he should take the higher ground, and be the better person. You know, set a good example. Emma can help with this too. Hailie has the harder job of convincing her dad to do the same. That he has defended her, and should talk with MGK. Once they have convinced both men to meet, they will have to pick a date that works for everybody. They will have Paul, Travis, Elton, and of course Hailie and Cassie, there when the two meet. Hopefully having both of their daughters there will keep things civil long enough to get something done. Paul hopes a collaboration comes out of it, but Hailie and Cassie just want their dads to be happy again.
******
Over the next few weeks Hailie e-mailed, Cassie and Emma, over how to get the two rappers to end their feud.
******
Hailie, Whitney, and Alaina have been dropping hints, and saying things, about ending arguments, burning the hatchet, and letting bygones be bygones. Em is really proud of his girls, being so mature, but fails to get the hints. Whitney even stages a fight with a friend, with an epic apology, but it still goes over Em’s head.
Now it is time for Hailie to confront her dad on his feud.
She has made it this far, there’s no turning back now. Hailie straightens her back, squares her shoulder, and walks into her dad’s office determined. Her dad looks up from some papers and smiles. It’s nice to see him smile.
“Hey Hailie.”
“Hey dad.”
“What brings you over? Not that I’m not glad to see you, it’s just you have been busy lately.”
“I came to talk to you. It’s about your feud with Machine Gun Kelly.”
The smile falls off Eminem’s face and his eyes harden. “You don’t need to worry about that son of a bitch. I’ll take care of him.” He stands up and heads over to the window.
Hailie takes a deep breath. “No dad. It was me he tweeted about. Everything has gotten out of control, and I have now been dragged into your stupid feud.”
Em turns around. “I know sweetie, and I’m sorry for that, but don’t worry I am crushing that blond asshole. His career is practically over.”
“Dad, that's not okay. Yeah, he is an asshole, and he deserved to be knocked down a few pegs, but this is overkill.”
“Hailie, this is my business. What I do…” Em didn’t get to finish her sentence.
“No, this isn’t just your business. It’s mine too, and I get a say in what happens. Machine Gun Kelly wrote me a letter…” Hailie didn’t get to finish what
“HE FUCKING CONTACTED YOU. I’M GOING TO KILL HIM. THAT STALKING SON OF A…” Em yells, as he heads for the door. Hailie steps in front of him, blocking the exit.
“No you're not. Now calm down. We are going to finish this conversation.”
“Hailie Jade Scott Mathers you better move out of my way.”
“No dad. I am a full grown woman, not a little girl anymore, and you are going to listen to what I have to say. Yes he wrote me a letter. He did it to apologise for what he did. The tweet, the feud, everything. Do you know how many other people have apologised to me for stuff they said? Have expressed regret for what they did to me? Not how many regret having to deal with you, but feel bad for what they did to me.”
Eminem thinks for a second, but doesn’t respond. Hailie continues.
“None. That’s how many. Everyone says sorry to you, not me. He is the only one. He admitted that he should have given me an apology for the comment, and even though it is years late, he still said sorry. Even after this whole feud, ‘Killshot’, and everyone hating him, Colson Baker is a big enough man to admit when he is wrong.”
“Just because he said ‘sorry’ doesn’t mean…”
“No dad, he didn’t just say ‘sorry’, he swallowed his pride, took responsibility for it, deleted the tweet, asked what he could do to make it up to me, and asked for my forgiveness. He wants to be a better role model for his own daughter. Here, read it for yourself.” Hailie hands him the letter, and waits while he reads it.
Em reads the letter. The kid really did set his pride aside and ask for his daughter forgiveness. He rereads the letter just to make sure he read it right, and he did. He was still unbelievably pissed that Machine Gun Kelly was somehow able to get to Hailie, but after reading the letter he doesn’t want to kill the blond idiot anymore.
“Okay he apologized to you, what do you want me to do? Just let him get away with running his mouth?”
“You have already won. He admitted that he couldn’t respond to ‘Killshot’. He tried to contact you more than once to end it but you said no. What I want is for you to be like Machine Gun Kelly, swallow your pride and set a better example for Alaina, Whitney, and I, and at least meet with him, so this stupid feud can end.” Hailie says as she holds her dad’s satire.
Em looks away, and sighs. “I don’t really have a choice in this so I?”
“You do have a choice. You can be an adult and meet with him, or you can be petty, and Alaina, Whitney, Paul, Fifty, Royce, Elton, Dre, and I will be disappointed in you.”
“Of course you got everyone to back you up. Fuck! Fine, I will meet with him, but I am making no promises about ”
Hailie relaxes. She will take it. For all intents and purposes, her dad has agreed, and she is tired, but she has a sense of accomplishment.
“Thanks dad. I’ll have Paul arrange the meeting.” She turns to leave.
“Hey, Heilie.”
“Yeah,dad.”
She turns back around, and her dad has wrapped her up in a big hug. She returns it immediately, and stands there for a moment. When they finally break apart Em asks her, “When did you get so smart, Jelly bean?”
“I don’t know dad. I musta learned it from you.”
******
The day of the meeting happens. They are in a studio in LA. It’s a neutral location. Paul, Elton, and Travis are sitting in the room waiting on the others to arrive.
“So, do you think this will actually work?” Travis asks.
“I don’t know darling, but hopefully with their daughters here it will be civil.” Elton replies as he crosses his ankles.
A few minutes later Eminem shows up with Hailie, and he looks put out. “Alright where is the blond fucker?”
“Marshall! I hope you don’t plan on using that kind of language today. Colson is bringing his daughter, and she is only 9.” Elton scolds. Em sighs knowing better than to argue with Uncle Elton about this kind of thing, even though he is pretty sure that she has heard worse from her own dad. He slumps into a chair between Paul and Hailie, already feeling done with the day and this meeting.
Kelly walks in with Cassie on his shoulders, and she is just chatting away, and Kelly is listening to every word she says. He sets her down in one chair, and takes the one between her and Travis.
“Hi Cassie.” Hailie greets.
“Hi Hailie.” Cassie says with a wave.
Em looks between his and Kelly’s daughters, and then it clicks.
“Fuuuuc-dge, fudge knuckles.” Em has to correct himself remembering that there is a literal child present. Hailie and Travis are snickering. At least Paul and Elton are trying to hide their amusement at his outburst. Em looks over at Kelly who gives him a look saying ‘yeah me too’.
“Our daughters played us.” Em says.
“Yep they teamed up to gang up on us.” Kelly says as he nods in agreement.
Neither rapper speaks, and the silence gets heavier with each passing moment.
“Let’s get this over with.” Em says with a sigh. “Everyone else out. This is between Machine Gun Kelly and me.”
Everyone but Kelly and Cassie begin to protest. Cassie decides to take action. She nudges her dad in the side with her elbow, and whispers in his ear, “Remember Dad be the bigger person.”
“Thanks pumpkin.” He whispers back, gives her a hug. She then grabs hailies hand, and heads for the door. The others follow suit, until it’s just Em and Kelly in the room.
“I’m sorry for tweeting about your daughter. I’m sorry for those things I said about you trying to interfere with my career, and I'm sorry for the other awful things I said about you. I really didn’t mean for that tweet to be rude, but I now see how it looks.”
“Did you fucking practise.”
Kells scratches the back of his head, breaking eye contact, looking down, at the ground. “Yeah with my daughter.” He mumbles out.
“Why did you post that tweet about Hailie?”
“To be honest, I thought she looked hot in it, but I didn’t know how old she was. When I found out how old she was I was disgusted with myself, but didn’t know what to do.”
“Okay fine I can understand that you didn’t know her age before commenting, but it was still shitty.”
“I Know.”
“Don’t ever do it again.”
Kelly looks up meeting Em’s Glare. “I won’t.”
Em takes pity on him, seeing that he is being sincere.
“I’m sorry too, kid. I’m sorry I banned you from Shade 45, talked shit about you, and called you a mumble rapper. You’re not.”
“Thank you.” A soft smile appears on Kelly’s face. Em can’t help but think it looks good on the blond.
Em can’t help but smirk. He was going to have fun picking on Kelly. “Am I really your idol?”
Kelly goes pink, and looks away. “Shut-up.”
“Oh no. You really looked up to me didn’t you? You wanted to be just like me. I bet you had all my albums, and posters of me.”
“Yeah but they always say never meet your heroes.” Kelly freezes, not meaning to say that out loud, making Em stop. Yeah Kelly did look up to him. Kelly really didn’t do anything, beside the tweet. Em did hinder his career, and was an ass to him, but the entire time they were feuding, Kelly still said he looked up to him.
“Look I’m sorry I was an ass to you. You just wanted recognition from me. Instead I dissed you, called you a mumble rapper. You tried to end this multiple times, and I didn’t want to hear it.”
Kelly is still blushing but he is looking at Em again.
“Your lyrics aren’t half bad either.”
The blond lights up. “Really?”
“Yes, need some work but they are pretty good.”
“Thank you.”
They sit there again not knowing what to do. Then Kelly pipes up. “So does that mean our feud is over?”
“Yeah it’s over.”
“What do we do now.”
“N
Em grabs his phone and texts Paul. Next thing they know Paul walks in. “Now that that is out of the way, we can call this beef over. I will set something up for the press.”
The details are hashed out. Kelly is going to open up for Em later this year, and neither one is going to sing their diss tracks of each other. Kelly does get to keep the moniker ‘Rap Devil’, to Paul’s disdain. Em thinks it’s funny (read cute).
Everyone parts ways.
Hailie links with her dad’s arm as they go down the hallway.
“The way you were picking on him, almost felt like you were doing it to get his attention.”
Em blushes as the statement.
“OMG you do think he is cute, that’s why you don’t want to give up this beef.”
“No I don’t. He’s an asshole who needed to be taught a lesson.”
“Okay Dad whatever you say.”
She hurries on head, but turns and gives her dad a wink. A new plan in mind.

Breathe with me. Chapter 3
@indiacater @annekebbphotography

Chapter 2 here
Two days later Liam gave up trying to keep his mind off Lina and was sitting on his bed with phone in hand. Now he just needed to figure it out how does he enter that Facebook thing to talk to her.
OK, it's not a rocket science, I can do that. Email. I don't have personal email. Should I ask my assistant for my email? No, he will ask questions. Patience. Let's just make a new one.
15 min later
Ok, why does it need my phone number? I don't remember it. I'll just enter some random number. Nobody cares.
10 min later
Fine, why I didn't think that it will send me some confirmation code? How do I get it now? Think, Liam, think. Right, I'll call Drake, ask for my number and write it down.
-Hey, Drake… No No, nothing happened. I need you to tell me my phone number… Yes, I know it's two am, sorry. Yes, I am writing it down… No, I don't know how to find it in my settings. OK, thanks and good night.
Got it!!!! Here is the code. OK they sent me a letter to my email. But I already closed it. I don't remember what name did I make up. Download the app button? Nah, I don't know what will it do. OK, don't panic, Liam. Just think what name did you make. John Smith was already occupied. Right, it was JohnSmithakaKing. Aha, I am in. Done. Now how do I find her? Right. Search for Lina New York. OK, there is not one Lina in New York? Calm down, scroll down. OK, this is bad. There is literally like hundreds of them.
One and a half hour later
Aha, this looks like her! Finally. OK, add friend.
20 minutes later as the sun raises
Declined? Why did she decline? Message. OK works too.
Good morning.
20 min later.
OK, her picture wasn't in front of the message before and now it moved there. What does it mean? Should have taken a course on social media before to try it.
Good morning, Lina. It's Liam if you still remember me?
15 seconds later
….
Hey. Yes I do, of course I do. What's up? Didn't know you were on FB. Sorry I declined. Didn't know it was you… John Smith.
Sorry about that. Couldn't really name myself King Liam of Cordonia. So how are you?
This is exciting. We are literally speaking right now. She holds her phone in hand thousands of kilometers away and talks to me. God, I spoke on the phone before, I message Drake but never it felt so exciting.
I am good, fine. How are you? What brings you to Facebook anyway? Just created an account?
Yes, just now. Maxwell mentioned the other day that you talk to each other here. So I figured I could also give it a try and find some friends.
Welcome to the 21st century I guess? So anyway, how are things in Cordonia?
Good. We are actually coming to New York next Wednesday.
10 min later
Why she doesn't reply? Her picture moved down. She saw the message. I didn't say anything wrong.
15 min later
Yeah, Max told me. I'll see you guys Wednesday night.
Wait what? Maxwell already invited her? Sorry Drake but title of my best friend goes to Maxwell from now on.
Yes, I can't wait. Will your boyfriend join us?
Why did I type that? How do I delete it before she reads the message? Crap, to late. Picture is already next to it. Imbecile. Next time think before you type.
5 min later
Maybe. We didn't discuss it yet. Sorry but I gtg. Can't wait to see you and Max. Talk to you later.
Not much but it will do. Are all conversations through Facebook so awkward and impersonal? I definitely need a course.
Liam threw his phone on the bed and drifted to sleep.
——————————————————–——
Lina nervously threw her phone on the kitchen counter and began to pace a floor. She didn't really have to go anywhere or do anything. She had this afternoon all to herself. She was planning to go shopping but since her conversation with Max last night all she could think of was Liam. Year and a half had passed since that night. First weeks were difficult for her. She often returned to the memories of that night replaying every word and every second of it. She often cursed herself for rejecting Max's offer, would she accepted then at least she would be able to see him again. She was wondering what would happen if she accepted and went to Cordonia. One night she decided to Google him and since then she was following all news about their weird competition. She saw their pictures in Internet and knew right then that she made a right decision to stay home. There was no chance in hell that she could complete with those gorgeous, rich and sophisticated women. It got better with a time, she almost convinced herself that nothing special happened that night. Cinderellas don't exist in real life, she would just become a laughing stock for entire world if she went there and would end up with broken heart. Besides the idea itself was ridiculous. What is it, 16 century or a horse race? No, nothing good would come out of it.
Finally a day of coronation was there and he picked his bride. Gorgeous, rich blonde. She was working that day when the news were published and she was grateful for it. Lina knew it was silly but she couldn't help it and was dreaming that he would reject them all and magically appear in her bar but of course it didn't happen. Next few days pictures of Liam and his fiance were all over cordonian news sites and they were looking very happy together.
One of his friends would often message her on FB, they became quite close, he was funny and kind guy. They were never discussing Liam, competition or his fiance and Lina was grateful for that. She didn't want to hear how happy he was with another woman.
She convinced herself that she became obsessed with media image and nothing else. It's the same as to have celebrity crush. It passes with a time and nobody dies from it. Of course he was a guy any girl would fall for. Handsome, charming, rich and powerful.
She kept telling herself that she will get over this obsession and will be happy. Then she met Thomas and it almost became true.
He was a successful lawyer ten years older than her. Of course there was this age difference but it only attracted her more. He was so mature and composed comparing to the guys of her age. She didn't know if that was love but being with him made her happy and she almost got over that obsession with Liam. Almost.
She still followed all the news about him, she knew about attacks and his father's death and she felt bad for him but at least now she had Thomas to look at and remind herself that she will be happy, she is dating wonderful man who picked her of all women for some reason.
Thomas was a perfect boyfriend who never canceled dates no matter how busy he was with his work, he often arranged surprise weekends for her taking her to see different cities around US and he was generous lover. She couldn't complain.
The only sore in her life was her inability to find a better job in New York. All the places she sent her resumes to were looking for experienced professionals. She had zero experience and it made her chances to ever find a good job close to zero as well. She graduated with mediocre balls and had no advantages.
Yesterday she was working when Max messaged her and said that they are coming to New York again for another bachelor party. Lina wondered how many bachelor parties Liam needs and if it is some cordonian tradition to go to New York for that. He said that they will spend four full days in New York and asked her if she wants to see them. She had to go to back alley of her bar before people in bar would notice how nervous and stressed she was. It took her good ten minutes to calm her nerves and to be able think straight again.
No, that's definitely the worst idea ever. It took me almost a year to get over that obsession. If I see him again it will start all over again. No, absolutely no. I should just say no, find any excuse and to avoid them at any cost.
Finally she made up her mind and messaged back.
Sorry, Max, but I am working next week. It will be a very busy week but I will love to see you again next time you are in town. Just give me head ups and I'll take a night off xoxoxxoxo
Max replied almost immediately
Awww no. But that's OK, if you are working then we can come to your bar and after your shift we go clubbing all together. So we will drop in Wednesday night. The same booth!!!
Shit shit shit. OK that didn't work at all. That's even worse than to just go clubbing with them. I'll be so nervous that I'll just probably drop a tray or a few Infront of them. Besides I don't even have to work Wednesday night. Why did I even add Max? Should have blocked him and never hear from them again. From any of them. Life would be so much easier now.
Np Max, I just traded shifts with a friend so my night is free. You don't have to come to bar, we will meet in Kismet, OK?
Awsome! See you there at 11 xxooxox.
Since last night she was just a bundle of nerves and it didn't become any better once she realised that Liam himself was now messaging her.
Really what's up with those guys? Why would he message me now or even remember about me after all this time? I was sure that he forgot about me as soon as he drove me home that night. OK don't sound desperate. Just keep it as casual as possible and it should be fine, right?
Several times Lina didn't reply his messages right away taking her time to calm down and to master some casual, almost cold replies. Like Kings and hot guys were messaging her every day. Not a big deal, ha!
OK, I better say that I have to go. I might be working or having fun out with friends, right? Not like he knows that I am home alone and freaking out right now. OK bye, Liam, before I type something stupid. Oh my, next days will be a torture I just know it already.
Later that night she went to Thomas's place. She was vague if she should go or to stay home and keep freaking out but it would be super rude to cancel. Thomas himself has never canceled their dates and he knew that it's her day off anyway.
Her fingerprints were in the database and she had a key to his apartments so she unlocked the door and entered just as Thomas was coming out of the hallway leading to bedrooms.
He just took shower obviously because his hair were still wet. He rushed to her and wrapped Lina in his arms giving her a long passionate kiss on the lips.
-Hello, gorgeous. I've missed you. How was your day?
Still holding her waist Thomas leaded her towards living room and sat on the couch wrapping his arms around her.
-It was good, didn't do anything special. What about you? - Lina laughed nervously. She still wasn't able to relax and enjoy seeing him wishing she was home alone right now. She just needed time to process the fact that she will be seeing Liam in a few days again and Thomas definitely was a distraction. She wasn't able to focus on him just yet.
-As usual, we don't want to discuss my work, believe me. I would rather to enjoy a quiet night with you. - Thomas laid her down on the couch and began to passionately kiss her letting his arms to wonder around Lina's body.
A few minutes later Lina gently pushed him away and Rose from the couch.
-I was promised a dinner-she giggled silly.
-Are we going to cook or…?
-No, I got a take out on my way home. It's in the kitchen. Let's go before it gets cold.
They went to the kitchen together, Thomas sat at the counter while Lina took the food out of containers and put it on the plates. Thomas would never eat it straight out of containers even if it was just a take out food.
For a few minutes they just enjoined their food in comfortable silence until Lina finally spoke.
-Do you remember Max? My friend from Europe?
Thomas nodded.
-Yes, a funny silly guy. You forced me to go with you to the club. What about him?
-Well, he is coming to New York again and invited us to Kismet wednesday night. Are you in?
Thomas whipped his mouth with a napkin and took a sip of wine.
-Yes, about that. II was going to tell you. I have to go to Chicago for a week. I'll be leaving Monday so you will have to go without me.
Great, just great. And how am I supposed to keep my sanity if I won't have you there?
Lina sighed sadly and shook her head.
-That sucks. I was really hoping that you could come with me.
Thomas rose from his seat and walked to Lina giving her peek on the cheek.
-That's OK, go have some fun just two of you. I wouldn't be able to keep up with you, kids, anyway. That guy is like energizer and you will spend all night on the dance floor. But I will make it up to you later, I promise.
Fanfuckingtastic. Yes, just leave me one on one with my celebrity crush. He doesn't even know that. Should I tell him? No, I will sound crazy. How am I even going to say that? "Hey, by the way, a King of European country I was obsessed with will be there with us and I totally need you there not just to jump on him?". Yeah I can totally say that, right?

Cancel Culture: The Internet Eating Itself RSS FEED OF POST WRITTEN BY FOZMEADOWS
As social media platforms enter their collective adolescence – Facebook is fifteen, YouTube fourteen, Twitter thirteen, tumblr twelve – I find myself thinking about how little we really understand their cultural implications, both ongoing and for the future. At this point, the idea that being online is completely optional in modern world ought to be absurd, and yet multiple friends, having spoken to their therapists about the impact of digital abuse on their mental health, were told straight up to just stop using the internet. Even if this was a viable option for some, the idea that we can neatly sidestep the problem of bad behaviour in any non-utilitarian sphere by telling those impacted to simply quit is baffling at best and a tacit form of victim-blaming at worst. The internet might be a liminal space, but object permanence still applies to what happens here: the trolls don’t vanish if we close our eyes, and if we vanquish one digital hydra-domain for Toxicity Crimes without caring to fathom the whys and hows of what went wrong, we merely ensure that three more will spring up in its place.
Is the internet a private space, a government space or a public space? Yes.
Is it corporate, communal or unaffiliated? Yes.
Is it truly global or bound by local legal jurisdictions? Yes.
Does the internet reflect our culture or create it? Yes.
Is what people say on the internet reflective of their true beliefs, or is it a constant shell-game of digital personas, marketing ploys, intrusive thoughts, growth-in-progress, personal speculation and fictional exploration? Yes.
The problem with the internet is that takes up all three areas on a Venn diagram depicting the overlap between speech and action, and while this has always been the case, we’re only now admitting that it’s a bug as well as a feature. Human interaction cannot be usefully monitored using an algorithm, but our current conception of What The Internet Is has been engineered specifically to shortcut existing forms of human oversight, the better to maximise both accessibility (good to neutral) and profits (neutral to bad). Uber and Lyft are cheaper, frequently more convenient alternatives to a traditional taxi service, for instance, but that’s because the apps themselves are functionally predicated on the removal of meaningful customer service and worker protections that were hard-won elsewhere. Sites like tumblr are free to use, but the lack of revenue generated by those users means that, past a certain point, profits can only hope to outstrip expenses by selling access to those users and/or their account data, which means in turn that paying to effectively monitor their content creation becomes vastly less important than monetising it.
Small wonder, then, that individual users of social media platforms have learned to place a high premium on their ability to curate what they see, how they see it, and who sees them in turn. When I first started blogging, the largely unwritten rule of the blogsphere was that, while particular webforums dedicated to specific topics could have rules about content and conduct, blogs and their comment pages should be kept Free. Monitoring comments was viewed as a sign of narrow-minded fearfulness: even if a participant was aggressive or abusive, the enlightened path was to let them speak, because anything else was Censorship. This position held out for a good long while, until the collective frustration of everyone who’d been graphically threatened with rape, torture and death, bombarded with slurs, exhausted by sealioning or simply fed up with nitpicking and bad faith arguments finally boiled over.
Particularly in progressive circles, the relief people felt at being told that actually, we were under no moral obligation to let assholes grandstand in the comments or repeatedly explain basic concepts to only theoretically invested strangers was overwhelming. Instead, you could simply delete them, or block them, or maybe even mock them, if the offence or initial point of ignorance seemed silly enough. But as with the previous system, this one-size-fits-all approach soon developed a downside. Thanks to the burnout so many of us felt after literal years of trying to treat patiently with trolls playing Devil’s Advocate, liberal internet culture shifted sharply towards immediate shows of anger, derision and flippancy to anyone who asked a 101 question, or who didn’t use the right language, or who did anything other than immediately agree with whatever position was explained to them, however simply.
I don’t exempt myself from this criticism, but knowing why I was so goddamn tired doesn’t change my conviction that, cumulatively, the end result did more harm than good. Without wanting to sidetrack into a lengthy dissertation on digital activism in the post-aughties decade, it seems evident in hindsight that the then-fledgling alliance between trolls, MRAs, PUAs, Redditors and 4channers to deliberately exhaust left-wing goodwill via sealioning and bad faith arguments was only the first part of a two-pronged attack. The second part, when the left had lost all patience with explaining its own beliefs and was snappily telling anyone who asked about feminism, racism or anything else to just fucking Google it, was to swoop in and persuade the rebuffed party that we were all irrational, screeching harridans who didn’t want to answer because we knew our answers were bad, and why not consider reading Roosh V instead?
The fallout of this period, I would argue, is still ongoing. In an ideal world, drawing a link between online culture wars about ownership of SFF and geekdom and the rise of far-right fascist, xenophobic extremism should be a bow so long that not even Odysseus himself could draw it. But this world, as we’ve all had frequent cause to notice, is far from ideal at the best of times – which these are not – and yet another featurebug of the internet is the fluid interpermeability of its various spaces. We talk, for instance – as I am talking here – about social media as a discreet concept, as though platforms like Twitter or Facebook are functionally separate from the other sites to which their users link; as though there is no relationship between or bleed-through from the viral Facebook post screencapped and shared on BuzzFeed, which is then linked and commented upon on Reddit, which thread is then linked to on Twitter, where an entirely new conversation emerges and subsequently spawns an article in The Huffington Post, which is shared again on Facebook and the replies to that shared on tumblr, and so on like some grizzly perpetual mention machine.
But I digress. The point here is that internet culture is best understood as a pattern of ripples, each new iteration a reaction to the previous one, spreading out until it dissipates and a new shape takes its place. Having learned that slamming the virtual door in everyone’s face was a bad idea, the online left tried establishing a better, calmer means of communication; the flipside was a sudden increase in tone-policing, conversations in which presentation was vaunted over substance and where, once again, particular groups were singled out as needing to conform to the comfort-levels of others. Overlapping with this was the move towards discussing things as being problematic, rather than using more fixed and strident language to decry particular faults – an attempt to acknowledge the inherent fallibility of human works while still allowing for criticism. A sensible goal, surely, but once again, attempting to apply the dictum universally proved a double-edged sword: if everything is problematic, then how to distinguish grave offences from trifling ones? How can anyone enjoy anything if we’re always expected to thumb the rosary of its failings first?
When everything is problematic and everyone has the right to say so, being online as any sort of creator or celebrity is like being nibbled to death by ducks. The well-meaning promise of various organisations, public figures or storytellers to take criticism on board – to listen to the fanbase and do right by their desires – was always going to stumble over the problem of differing tastes. No group is a hivemind: what one person considers bad representation or in poor taste, another might find enlightening, while yet a third party is more concerned with something else entirely. Even in cases with a clear majority opinion, it’s physically impossible to please everyone and a type of folly to try, but that has yet to stop the collective internet from demanding it be so. Out of this comes a new type of ironic frustration: having once rejoiced in being allowed to simply block trolls or timewasters, we now cast judgement on those who block us in turn, viewing them, as we once were viewed, as being fearful of criticism.
Are we creating echo chambers by curating what we see online, or are we acting in pragmatic acknowledgement of the fact that we neither have time to read everything nor an obligation to see all perspectives as equally valid? Yes.
Even if we did have the time and ability to wade through everything, is the signal-to-noise ratio of truth to lies on the internet beyond our individual ability to successfully measure, such that outsourcing some of our judgement to trusted sources is fundamentally necessary, or should we be expected to think critically about everything we encounter, even if it’s only intended as entertainment? Yes.
If something or someone online acts in a way that’s antithetical to our values, are we allowed to tune them out thereafter, knowing full well that there’s a nearly infinite supply of as-yet undisappointing content and content-creators waiting to take their place, or are we obliged to acknowledge that Doing A Bad doesn’t necessarily ruin a person forever? Yes.
And thus we come to cancel culture, the current – but by no means final – culmination of previous internet discourse waves. In this iteration, burnout at critical engagement dovetails with a new emphasis on collective content curation courtesies (try saying that six times fast), but ends up hamstrung once again by differences in taste. Or, to put it another way: someone fucks up and it’s the last straw for us personally, so we try to remove them from our timelines altogether – but unless our friends and mutuals, who we still want to engage with, are convinced to do likewise, then we haven’t really removed them at all, such that we’re now potentially willing to make failure to cancel on demand itself a cancellable offence.
Which brings us right back around to the problem of how the modern internet is fundamentally structured – which is to say, the way in which it’s overwhelmingly meant to rely on individual curation instead of collective moderation. Because the one thing each successive mode of social media discourse has in common with its predecessors is a central, and currently unanswerable question: what universal code of conduct exists that I, an individual on the internet, can adhere to – and expect others to adhere to – while we communicate across multiple different platforms?
In the real world, we understand about social behavioural norms: even if we don’t talk about them in those terms, we broadly recognise them when we see them. Of course, we also understand that those norms can vary from place to place and context to context, but as we can only ever be in one physical place at a time, it’s comparatively easy to adjust as appropriate.
But the internet, as stated, is a liminal space: it’s real and virtual, myriad and singular, private and public all at once. It confuses our sense of which rules might apply under which circumstances, jumbles the normal behavioural cues by obscuring the identity of our interlocutors, and even though we don’t acknowledge it nearly as often as we should, written communication – like spoken communication – is a skill that not everyone has, just as tone, whether spoken or written, isn’t always received (or executed, for that matter) in the way it was intended. And when it comes to politics, in which the internet and its doings now plays no small role, there’s the continual frustration that comes from observing, with more and more frequency, how many literal, real-world crimes and abuses go without punishment, and how that lack of consequences contributes in turn to the fostering of abuse and hostility towards vulnerable groups online.
This is what comes of occupying a transitional period in history: one in which laws are changed and proposed to reflect our changing awareness of the world, but where habit, custom, ignorance, bias and malice still routinely combine, both institutionally and more generally, to see those laws enacted only in part, or tokenistically, or not at all. To take one of the most egregious and well-publicised instances that ultimately presaged the #MeToo movement, the laughably meagre sentence handed down to Brock Turner, who was caught in the act of raping an unconscious woman, combined with the emphasis placed by both the judge and much of the media coverage on his swimming talents and family standing as a means of exonerating him, made it very clear that sexual violence against women is frequently held to be less important than the perceived ‘bright futures’ of its perpetrators.
Knowing this, then – knowing that the story was spread, discussed and argued about on social media, along with thousands of other, similar accounts; knowing that, even in this context, some people still freely spoke up in defence of rapists and issued misogynistic threats against their female interlocutors – is it any wonder that, in the absence of consistent legal justice in such cases, the internet tried, and is still trying, to fill the gap? Is it any wonder, when instances of racist police brutality are constantly filmed and posted online, only for the perpetrators to receive no discipline, that we lose patience for anyone who wants to debate the semantics of when, exactly, extrajudicial murder is “acceptable”?
We cannot control the brutality of the world from the safety of our keyboards, but when it exhausts or threatens us, we can at least click a button to mute its seeming adherents. We don’t always have the energy to decry the same person we’ve already argued against a thousand times before, but when a friend unthinkingly puts them back on our timeline for some new reason, we can tell them that person is cancelled and hope they take the hint not to do it again. Never mind that there is far too often no subtlety, no sense of scale or proportion to how the collective, viral internet reacts in each instance, until all outrage is rendered flat and the outside observer could be forgiven for worrying what’s gone wrong with us all, that using a homophobic trope in a TV show is thought to merit the same online response as an actual hate crime. So long as the war is waged with words alone, there’s only a finite number of outcomes that boycotting, blocking, blacklisting, cancelling, complaining and critiquing can achieve, and while some of those outcomes in particular are well worth fighting for, so many words are poured towards so many attempts that it’s easy to feel numbed to the process; or, conversely, easy to think that one response fits all contexts.
I’m tired of cancel culture, just as I was dully tired of everything that preceded it and will doubtless grow tired of everything that comes after it in turn, until our fundamental sense of what the internet is and how it should be managed finally changes. Like it or not, the internet both is and is of the world, and that is too much for any one person to sensibly try and curate at an individual level. Where nothing is moderated for us, everything must be moderated by us; and wherever people form communities, those communities will grow cultures, which will develop rules and customs that spill over into neighbouring communities, both digitally and offline, with mixed and ever-changing results. Cancel culture is particularly tricky in this regard, as the ease with which we block someone online can seldom be replicated offline, which makes it all the more intoxicating a power to wield when possible: we can’t do anything about the awful coworker who rants at us in the breakroom, but by God, we can block every person who reminds us of them on Twitter.
The thing about participating in internet discourse is, it’s like playing Civilisation in real-time, only it’s not a game and the world keeps progressing even when you log off. Things change so fast on the internet – memes, etiquette, slang, dominant opinions – and yet the changes spread so organically and so fast that we frequently adapt without keeping conscious track of when and why they shifted. Social media is like the Hotel California: we can check out any time we like, but we can never meaningfully leave – not when world leaders are still threatening nuclear war on Twitter, or when Facebook is using friendly memes to test facial recognition software, or when corporate accounts are creating multi-staffed humansonas to engage with artists on tumblr, or when YouTube algorithms are accidentally-on-purpose steering kids towards white nationalist propaganda because it makes them more money.
Of course we try and curate our time online into something finite, comprehensible, familiar, safe: the alternative is to embrace the near-infinite, incomprehensible, alien, dangerous gallimaufry of our fractured global mindscape. Of course we want to try and be critical, rational, moral in our convictions and choices; it’s just that we’re also tired and scared and everyone who wants to argue with us about anything can, even if they’re wrong and angry and also our relative, or else a complete stranger, and sometimes you just want to turn off your brain and enjoy a thing without thinking about it, or give yourself some respite, or exercise a tiny bit of autonomy in the only way you can.
It’s human nature to want to be the most amount of right for the least amount of effort, but unthinkingly taking our moral cues from internet culture the same way we’re accustomed to doing in offline contexts doesn’t work: digital culture shifts too fast and too asymmetrically to be relied on moment to moment as anything like a universal touchstone. Either you end up preaching to the choir, or you run a high risk of aggravation, not necessarily due to any fundamental ideological divide, but because your interlocutor is leaning on a different, false-universal jargon overlying alternate 101 and 201 concepts to the ones you’re using, and modern social media platforms – in what is perhaps the greatest irony of all – are uniquely poorly suited to coherent debate.
Purity wars in fandom, arguments about diversity in narrative and whether its proponents have crossed the line from criticism into bullying: these types of arguments are cyclical now, dying out and rekindling with each new wave of discourse. We might not yet be in a position to stop it, but I have some hope that being aware of it can mitigate the worst of the damage, if only because I’m loathe to watch yet another fandom steadily talk itself into hating its own core media for the sake of literal argument.
For all its flaws – and with all its potential – the internet is here to stay. Here’s hoping we figure out how to fix it before its ugliest aspects make us give up on ourselves.

Think Your Privacy Is Protected? Think Again.

They hacked my Instagram account last December. My account was down for two weeks, and Instagram was no help. No one ever replied. I went to Facebook and registered as an app developer then requested help for advertising. Whala. Someone called within hours. They restored my account within minutes. But what was the purpose of the hack? Why was my account blocked and not deleted? What happened?
Social media attracts hundreds of millions of users each day. Hacking requires little skill and we can purchase programs like keylogging at Amazon. Malicious coding, spyware, and proprietary information theft are commonly used for simple hacks. With the press of one key, your information is stolen. In my case, I opened an email in my Inbox, the mail looked identical to Instagrams logos, lettering and letterhead. “Your Instagram account has been compromised. Reset your password.” I pressed the link. My account was gone.
Software assures protection, and in most cases even advertise its protection, but If you read the fine print most policies will tell you in the Terms and Conditions they don’t take responsibility for your loss data.
They can buy our personal data for as little as $0.20, 2018 Current State Of Crime. Because it sells for so cheap, this makes sellers work harder, hunting down personal data anyway they can.
Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg is under the microscope for selling major company’s information to Russia. I hope Zuckerberg goes down.
When you download your data from social media platforms, you’ll probably be shocked to discover what they have stored. Think you deleted it years ago? Think again. Nothing ever gets deleted. If someone hacked your account, they have access to everything you have ever typed, including what you sent via private message and your previous passwords.
1 out of 5 files aren’t protected. Your software device firewall and added software security are not protecting you entirely. When you install an app, it asks for permission to gain access in your device. And that is exactly what they have, access.
Cybercrime is more profitable than drug trade.
Despite the payout of personal data, cybercrime is incredibly expensive and the most expensive part is loss. In 2015 cybercrime caused a whopping 3 trillion in damages and it’s estimated to cause 6 trillion in damages by 2021. When our credit reporting agencies and emails are hacked, this number increases at an enormous rate and speed.
We may think it’s bigger companies to blame for Cyber breaches, but in fact 95% of security failures are the customers fault.
Microsoft Office file formats (Excel, Word, Power point), compromise the most prevalent group of malicious file extensions. Making up 38% of Cyber attacks, effecting you daily. These are commonly sent as extensions or attachments in emails and are utilized by most people. These Microsoft file formats are vectors for malware and are easily overlooked.
WordPress is a free and open source website tool; popular software that’s powering nearly half of all websites on the Internet. But 73.2% of all Wordpress installations are open to vulnerabilities.
Crypto Hacking attacks are up by 8,500% yet the unemployment rate for Cyber security jobs are approaching 0%. Reaching 3.5 million needed jobs to fill by 2021. This market is growing too fast for the world to keep up.
Androids are at extreme risk. Malicious software that is installed on android platforms has increased by 400%. People tend to be more relaxed with their cell phones, probably because most of us carry it with ourselves. Only 50% buy added protected on their smartphones and 72% on their laptops and desktops computers. It’s likely that our smartphones store more data than our desktops and laptops. In a hyper-connected world the majority of us use our phones for everything. We have become overly connected and have developed a deep loving relationship with our phones. We tend to trust it, it’s our safety for so many reasons. Therefore, we input more personal information on our phones than on our computers.
Over half of China’s electronic devices are infected. China is the #1 country with the most infected malware. There are billions of malware samples, “PandaLabs, the laboratory of Panda Security, detected and neutralized more than 84 million new malware samples throughout 2015.” Last year there were 304 million samples detected in the world. It’s estimated that over 230,000 new malware samples are produced daily in China and roughly 1 million new threats are released every day in the world, CNN Business, 2014.
It can take seconds to steal your data. Below is a list of malware and hacking techniques to beware of.
Digital extortion: one of the most lucrative ways cybercriminals can profit. Hackers steal files or photos from a victim’s computer and demand a ransom in exchange for a key to decrypt their files. The bulk of digital extortion is done with ransomware attacks. Other types include, phishing, negative review and spamming (the cybercriminal will retract the negative review for cost), and blackmail.
Common ploy: Send 300k in Bitcoin or the cybercriminal will release personal and private information about you. They may even have a video of you doing someone that makes you feel guilty. Or they may threaten to have a video of you or know something about you doing something that makes you feel guilty to cave in. They will most likely provide your accurate banking information and personal information to validate that they are in fact real hackers to scare you. Therefore the blackmail works so well. Especially if you have kids and loved ones you want to protect. What should you do? Save yourself 300k in Bitcoin. Change your passwords and bank information. Don’t entertain them.
Guilt has made many people prosper.
If you are computer savvy, check your terminal and look for anything unusual. You can open Terminal from Utilities. Type ‘man’ followed by a space and then the process name, e.g. “man nefwork.
Social media scams. Users do all the work for the cybercriminal just by sharing a video or story on sketchy sites. The virus spreads rapidly because people are more likely to click on something posted by a friend.
Likejacking and clickjacking are common social media spam hoaxes made in an attempt to steal your private information. A common ploy, “Facebook will donate $1 toward the child’s care for every like.” Cyber thieves will say anything to convince the reader to hit the link to embed the malware in your device.
Proxy hijacking is when a hacker creates a copy of the victims web page on a proxy server, using keyword stuffing techniques, linking the original site to a copied website hoping to increase search engine rankings. The victims site will then rank lower. Search engines like Google will see the victims site as a duplicated website, then Google might remove it from its index.
Keylogging is common in the workforce and keylogging software is available on Amazon. Keylogs record your information by recording your keystrokes. Information is gathered and collected over time. If you keep getting the same email threat, chances are, your keystrokes are being recorded. Keylogs are also commonly used in the home, it’s a common a program purchased for someone with trust issues.
Malware is hard to detect. Its intention is to cause damage to a device, server, or network.
Trojan is a computer program which misleads users convincing them the content is true.
Spyware Like keyloggers, this software aims to gather information by recording your keystrokes and activities. The information can be sent to another entity without the consumer’s knowledge. A common example is when a cybercriminal waits for the user to install an update. Then they have access to your devices.
A crawler or hunter is not malware or a virus, instead it wreaks havoc on your device and disrupts browsing activity.
Phishing. 1 in 3 emails are phishing. “Roughly 12 percent are victims of the actual infections that result from phishing.”
What can you do? Educate yourself on keyloggers, Trojans, spyware and malware. Protect yourself against malicious apps and third-party tools. Beware of apps and software asking permission for sms, microphone access, and device permission. Beware of fraudulent email accounts. Hackers use email names from companies we recognize then imitate a company’s name to look similar: @gmail.com, @gmall.com.
Never download from 3rd party sites, change passwords weekly and Include specialized characters, capital letters and numbers. Never use the same password for over one account. When you receive a text asking to validate a pin, keep in mind, it might be a hack. Instead, use an old unactivated phone for two factor authentications for extra protection.
When you open a suspected email, check the URL on your desktop. An unsafe URL starts with http:// a protected URL starts with https:// Know that there are ways to manipulate a URL. so it looks like it is a trusted company. Also know that there are sites you go incognito with to get a URL checked out.
Remember that open networks and WEP security, aren’t secure at all. Consider changing your proxy when using Wi-Fi networks that are shared. Change or hide your IP address. Hackers can exploit your IP address. But they can’t do much if your firewall is on, your firewall stops them from entering your programs, they can get into your ports. Your personal details and your IP address are not connected, so that is false, your IP does not provide information about you. Consider using an extra hardware firewall for added protection and block your IP address.
Some sites will prevent your account from logging in if you use a different IP address then what you normally used to log in. I can easily unblock mine when logging into sites with difficulty. Working in social media, I find a lot of third-party sites change their IP for privacy and assign one specifically to you. It’s also good to change your proxy settings to prevent proxy hijacking.
Unfortunately, it’s impossible to avoid all hacks. But we can educate ourselves on what we can control and protect ourselves.

Successful non-profit organizations use the Internet to market charitable program.

Internet marketing is still essential to any business's overall marketing strategy. Mentioned before with all the benefits of internet marketing, people still buy magazines, billboards went out to check to see their mail, watch TV, and shopping. No matter how fast-paced and wide internet of communication, people go out together, talking about going to the gym. Thus, while Internet marketing is absolutely valid and important, condemning certain value of the cost of traditional marketing any business, many potential customers. Another thing, when we say that internet marketing, it is not only figures we choose to click on ads. The list also includes security, advertising, advertising social networks, groups, discussion boards and many others. Accordingly, the online marketing activities can effect the number of people exposed. However, one disadvantage is that people started to become one of the, and would even advertise the advertising or know (even people in the security list), and delete without opening them. When someone on the Internet, they would like to read / write e-mail, chat with friends, read and post / reply comments, play fun games. As a internet marketing goal is to build a top priority for Internet users. Also, try and spam and unsolicited e-mail and advertising, more and more people away from Internet advertising in general, unless they are some specific content. A variety of Internet marketing strategy is free and paid online marketing can make more money. 12-month Internet Millionaire Review - Russell Brunson is a 12-month millionaire fraud ?. As the market one of the most controversial books, and now the Internet millionaire's 12 months still institute a major buzz everywhere. A great professional internet marketing make money online. Internet marketing can be a lucrative industry, if some big Internet-related skills and knowledge development to do so successfully. Must also identify and develop the necessary strategies to make money online. Pay per click advertising, online advertising and link exchange programs, is marketing, can be used to make the Internet industry to make money online there are some important programs.
Internet marketing are not the result of a well-defined, integrated internet strategy; rather, they are a response to competitors activities or customers demand. Through the site has implemented for more than a year, marketing staff and senior management will naturally question its effectiveness. This is usually the point in a coherent Internet marketing strategy needs to become an apprentice. As a result, starting in the sum of electronic marketing strategy, is when a company's existing website, which is to review the existing site and its purpose is to improve the effectiveness of the future. There is no evidence that the development and implementation of a strategy to be significantly different approach to electronic marketing. Strategic planning for enterprise development or strategic marketing to comply with the established framework should still be. The framework provides a logical order to follow up to ensure that the strategic focus of all development activities included. It can be said, however, with the e-market strategy for a highly sensitive process of rapid response mode, the events in the market need. Soviet-style five-year planning application does not seem to fit, the best approach is a new process of electronic marketing strategy is a continuous improvement. Check fee (2002) pointed out that e-commerce or e-marketing strategy process models tend to agree with the following features:
There are many ways to market your product using a large number of online with Google AdWords or Yahoo's Overture advertising network, eBay, members network, cost per click marketing. In addition, there are many second tier cost of sales and earnings per share network. You need to have a good network marketing strategy, using the Internet to provide online marketing tool. With Internet marketing company, will help you to get your website in search engine advertising and optimization services provided by many of the results, but ever you need to determine what kind of network marketing will give you the best of a product line. It used to be you bought CPM (cost per thousand) in large-scale campaign Web site and hope that the good performance of these ads and get traffic to your website. Now, there are many choices, there is usually a for each event better than the other run. It appears that the use of network marketing the best way to get return on investment cost per click online marketing tool, the strategic point. Google AdWords and Yahoos Overture CPC programs have dominated the world of network marketing in the past two years, they only get bigger and stronger. Network marketing companies have sprung up to help beginners learn how to use AdWords and Overture to the best of their ability to rope. If you want to build a brand, then the cost per click will not be online marketing solutions. Instead of the online brand, you will go to a CPM campaign, is a straight line costs. The targeted ads, and now there's online advertising spending is due to leave the television and radio have been gradually transferred to the Internet. Why do you want, if you are advertising with the radio or TV, you can actually track the individual results of the work online. We believe that many ad networks and affiliate program will gradually fade out in the next several years, while Google and Yahoo Zhudao even with their own, targeted search results and more advertising network. Internet changes quickly, any company wants to optimize their online marketing presence needs to adapt and adjust to the latest technology.
Network marketing is the three capacities: transport infrastructure, marketing, application development, marketing methods and permissions. Practical ability of the network in sports marketing when three similar shift manual gearbox, driving a car, both in mechanics.
Internet marketing is the same where you live, because it is a global market.
They do not have banner ads, because they are cheaper than print. In Facebook, because their children that they should be. If you start what you want for your site's business focus and you concentrate all energy on helping to improve the preliminary results of this goal, Name of the Dong Xi you Keyi try, to see if they are how they work. Or you can look at things, said: "I do not see how it can help me achieve my goal. Now, if you ignore something, it is possible that they will actually become extremely important, and you 'local employees realize that you made a mistake. but only the larger error is ignored, since you are overriding, or try to do everything hafway and accomplish nothing.
Network Marketing is not just a large budget or the entire company's IT department. We have developed in Newfoundland and Labrador website, then who can appear in more effective competitors excluded from the market itself. We can do the same for you, to establish an online presence to support your other. This allows you all the seamless integration of marketing activities, you become a better profit growth in your site shooting. We believe that your answer in Lorne Park and associated companies will seek to get you.
Internet marketing is clear, the next question is usually, "Yes, but where I start." For new and existing customers a direct entry point. In the days passed, and when people want to find a business, they turned to the yellow pages. Today, your customers will find you on the Internet, if you are not there, they will turn to the next thing, they did find: 1,
Network Marketing is your competitor doing? How do your competitors in the domestic major search engine rankings? What kind of traffic from their own site? Use the right tools, this valuable information can be found in your competitors: What is your product or service for the customer to resolve or do not provide any good? In what ways you can best illustrate this advantage? Clear and consistent information on the positioning of your products in the market based on a solid understanding is very important to all offline and online marketing efforts: How much money can you get customers and still make a profit? What is each customer, you get the value of life expectancy? This is the answer you need to determine the effectiveness of any network marketing program running on key issues.
Internet marketing is falling over themselves trying to shift dollars from offline to online marketing. I believe the idea is that network marketing will give them better to reduce the US dollar in a tight economic returns. While it is surely a solid strategy for mobile Internet, it pays to put it a little thought, the first: Verify your infrastructure. Offline dollars in your move to online, to ensure that you can actually use all of the online customer service. Do you have in place of? You can quickly adjust the landing page and website copy? No sense, if you put in to send visitors to a site, sucking money from online advertising. If you are offline to online money like two weeks to generate a 5: 1 return, reducing the Prozac and think twice to come back. The biggest mistake I see their budget, the company's transformation, is that they think this is a line 'run and do' things. Marketers and their bosses think they can create a landing page or start a PPC campaign, and then forget about it for a month. And this cycle works in print or television, it will not work online. Line is highly, highly repetitive, and requires constant attention. So you save a lot of advertising money into the labor force.
Characteristics of network marketing is definitely a good start in the Internet market, but if you do not know how to drive traffic to your site, these things will be wasted.
Search Engine Optimization Senior Account Manager Applicants must have at least the search engine optimization, link building, PPC 3 years of experience, and can hit the ground running. Intelligence and ability to work proactively without supervision is necessary, you should be able to work on project management. You also must be able to communicate with customers the highest level of search engine optimization. We are a small busy Swiss institutions and roll up their sleeves and complete the work is essential. Internet marketing is just too numerous to mention in this article. If you access the Internet value-added services, web savvy, you will see how much of this marketing can increase your business type.
Network marketing is online marketing, network marketing, network marketing. Internet marketing is very important, but the madness of growth with social media, I strongly recommend listening skills is to know how to do twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Many marketing media, relying on the three to take home the bacon only. The building is a long list of network marketing, a necessary component of success. List building simply means that a user list, you can communicate regularly via e-mail. In order to start building a list, you first need to establish what is called a capture page. Pages, your visitors will be asked to provide some free gifts, to share their names and e-mail. It can be a free report, e-books, video or presentation software. Many merchants also offer free electronic can receive daily early bird tips and notifications.
In today's competitive (and noise) market, we must combine all the right online marketing tools, to create a truly effective and comprehensive marketing program. All, of course, is up and around the central site, but to create opportunities, improve customer response, increased brand awareness, the site of the network through a comprehensive marketing strategy, including search engine optimization, PPC, social media tools to support marketing , and so on.
Linked network marketing ideas and technology and business strategy design, development, Internet advertising and marketing. Search engine marketing, email marketing, display advertising, affiliate marketing, display advertising, blog marketing, display advertising, viral marketing. Internet marketing is the media running along the different stages of customer engagement cycle through search engine marketing, search engine optimization in a specific site, e-mail marketing and Web 2, banner ads. Network marketing has become more and more organizations use to promote the network media key and very effective. 'The establishment of a website' or 'promotion site' is the foundation, but not the basis of network marketing.
Somewhere behind that website is a real goal, the real organization. Internet marketing strategy includes all of the online advertising products and services, including market research, email marketing, websites, and direct sales.

Full text of our recent article on how we get 20% publish rates on HARO. Hope you guys get some value out of it - the full text is here so no need to click to the article unless you want to see images (mods let me know if this is all good).Link to blog article (with images). One of the hardest things for new, unknown startups is getting press. While getting press certainly isn’t the end-all, be-all it is a solid way for a company to build some social proof, relationships and even backlinks.A word of caution before we get too far into this post – chasing press mentions will not make your startup the next billionaire dollar brand. If our experience is anything to go by, most mentions will garner some modest traffic gains at best and silence at worst. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t spend time building relationships with the media. As I touched on above, not only do press mentions garner immense social proof they also can have additional benefits like boosts to your search rankings and getting your name/product/brand in front of an entirely new audience. But how do you get press?Well, there are a few ways. The traditional wisdom usually stipulates you make connections with reporters that cover your industry well before you ever pitch them a story. In our opinion, that is the best way to do it.However, this post will be focusing on a different path. If you’re looking for more info on making connections with specific reporters, here are a few guides written by Austen Allred and Matthew Barby that we’ve found useful:How to Get Press for Your Startup by Austen AllredHow Press Requests Can Be A Link Building Goldmine by Matthew BarbyThe other option that we’ll be discussing here is via a service called Help A Reporter Out, colloquially known as HARO. If you’re already familiar with HARO you can skip down a few sentences to get to the meat of the article.HARO is a free service created to do just what it says on the tin – provide a way to help reporters who are in need of a source. The service itself is email based and provides up to three emails per day containing lists of queries that reporters need filled. These queries can range from everything to on-air interview requests for TV stations (although rare) to a simple request for quotes from topical experts. For all the nitty gritty details and sign-up instructions, we’d suggest you check out HelpAReporterOut.com.We’ve been using the HARO service here at GoDesignerGo ever since we launched the company many, many months ago. I’m not a super connected tech entrepreneur, so I saw HARO as a way to practice my reporter pitches and community outreach all the while getting a little bit of press at the same time.So how did we get a 20% response rate as an unknown company? Let’s delve a little deeper.RulesBefore I ever signed up for HARO I sat down and drafted a Google Doc that listed out a set of specific rules to follow when attempting to pitch reporters/bloggers/whoever.It was (and still is) very barebones and likely full of holes, but it provided a good starting point from which we could quickly decide yes or no on whether we should pitch on a certain story or just leave it be.Below is an abbreviated version of the ruleset designed to be a more general list that isn’t specific to our company.1. Don’t stretch the truth. This was a big one for us. We knew that as a scrappy, bootstrapped startup it would be very easy to fall into the trap of embellishing stats, revenue and so forth in the hopes that it would make us seem more credible and, in turn, garner more press attention. In reality, stretching the truth does work for a lot of companies – both big and small. There is no problem with showing the best side of your company; you’d be silly not to. But we wanted to remind ourselves to never give a false number just because it made the company seem bigger, better or more credible.2. Only respond to relevant queriesHARO will send you a lot of queries every day. If you sign up for the three-times-a-day email blast you can expect to receive a Morning, Afternoon and Evening blast of reporter queries. On busy days this can be close to a hundred individual queries. Granted, 80 to 90% of these will not be in any way related to you, but it is a lot to sift through regardless. On days when there really isn’t a relevant query is it common to want to reply to a query that is kind of relevant or relevant if you just change these two minor details etc. Don’t fall into that trap. We responded to a lot of stuff that wasn’t relevant in the early days. And you know what happened? Nothing. No replies. Silence.Don’t pitch reporters on stories that are only partially relevant. That’s a surefire way to make sure your story never sees the light of day.The reporter will be able to tell within a few seconds that you are either, full of shit or are wasting their time.3. Follow reporters’ instructionsWe contemplated putting this as a footnote in the procedures section, but it is important enough to warrant a rule all of its own. Reporters are busy people and reporters who post on HARO are going to be extremely busy with the inundation of replies their query will garner.Besides not being a relevant source, the quickest way to get your reply ignored and deleted is to make life hard on the reporter. If they ask for a specific format for responses, you better follow that. If all they are looking for is a quote, don’t write a three-paragraph long epic that “they can choose a quote from.” Just provide a damn quote.4. Provide an easy way to follow-upIn the same vein as following a reporters instructions, you also need to provide a quick and easy way for the reporter to follow-up with you or access your biographical information. One of the reasons we’ve been so successful with getting quoted is due to the fact that we provide all the information the reporter needs at the bottom of the email.Generally for quote queries, the standard information we include is a Dropbox link to a headshot (in three different resolutions), social media links, website links as well as a contact phone number and email.Providing this information up front makes it super easy for the reporter to copy/paste your info and not only increases your probability of being featured in their current article but also increases the probability that you will be used in the future – it shows you’re serious and you value their time. There are plenty more rules that can be used when pitching reporters via HARO or other means. In fact, a bunch of people have wrote entire books on the subject.Procedures & DocumentsOur procedures for choosing and replying to HARO queries is nothing extraordinary. It’s a system that worked well for us and we thought it might help out some of you who are less experienced (or just starting) with reporter outreach. Here at GoDesignerGo we set up a system for checking and replying to HARO queries that we felt would maximize our ability to provide solid answers to queries while ensuring we missed as few deadlines as possible. The HARO emails go out at approximately three different times every day: 5:30am Eastern, 12:30pm Eastern and 5:30pm Eastern. Being on the West coast this presented a bit of a problem for us. I wasn’t wanting to get up at 6am to reply to HARO queries nor was I wanting to miss deadlines because of the three-hour time difference.Luckily for us, it seemed that the majority of morning queries seemed to have a deadline that was either end-of-day or a day or two in the future. This meant we wouldn’t miss too many queries and those that we did, well, we would just have to chalk them up to the time difference (we didn’t think doing queries at 6am would result in the same quality as if we did them once we were fully awake). The daily procedure went like this:9am: check HARO morning queries and list the queries we wanted to reply to in our Google Sheet (link in the next section of the post)9:15am: begin replying to queries based on deadlines (unless there was an extremely relevant query then do that one first)1pm (ish): Check HARO afternoon queries and replyEnd of day: check HARO evening queries and reply (we rarely found anything in the evening queries, so we usually checked this every other day)For each article, we have a Google Doc that includes a basic template for three types of queries that we most commonly reply to: interview requests, quote requests and story requests. Each of these templates includes a basic greeting as well as closing bullet points that include contact info, links and summary info based on the type of query. Quote queries, for example, almost always need headshots and links to social profiles or a website so we included that info in our template. These templates make sure we never forget to include relevant information and, more importantly, make sure we focus on the most important parts of the email – the actual content of the reply.Documents & TrackingFor each and every query, we track who the reporter was, what they were asking and what the outlet was. We do this on a very basic Google Sheet that also includes a running tally of our percentage hit rate of getting our stories or quotes picked up and published. This is really important as it provides you a solid metric by which you can measure time spent vs. articles published. In the early days, we used to link to the HARO website where our reply was held – we didn’t see much value in that so we replaced that with a simple one sentence explanation of the pitch subject matter. For each new post that we respond to we also look up the reporter on Twitter and send them a simple tweet letting them know we provided some insight for their post and to reach out if we can provide any additional help. Keep in mind that due to our extremely selective nature of responses, we are only replying to a handful of queries a week. If you respond to more than that, we’d recommend picking and choosing your tweets as you would like come off as spammy. Below is a screenshot of the most recent tweet we sent to Pagezii’s Jon Kaspszak regarding a blog on blog bounce rates.Reddit wouldn't let me put an image here, but you can click here to get taken to the actual post and see the imageSee?A very basic tweet that is sent once.Don’t spam the person or barrage them with tweets asking if they received your email. That is a surefire way to make sure that you aren’t featured in the post and that your future emails will go ignored.I hesitate to call this a tactic as, really, it is just us trying to be helpful in case a reporter needs extra information. But for the sake of the article let’s call it a tactic. We used this tactic with a reporter on an article about two months ago. The result? Nothing. We didn’t get published. But you know what happened the next time the reporter needed sources for a story? We sent over an email and were featured in the story. According to the reporter, they recognized my name from our tweet and remembered that we were one of the few helpful people out of a sea of “post my quote!” emails. The moral of the story here is Twitter can be extremely powerful assuming you use it responsibly, don’t spam people and are genuinely helpful. So, what exactly does the email template we use look like? Can't post an image - click here to see the imageWell, not to disappoint but it is extremely simple. Extremely short. Extremely barebones. And that is for a very good reason. We wanted the template to only provide the necessities required to fill out a reply. We didn’t want the template to dictate the reply. That philosophy forced us to focus all of our efforts on the actual content of the email and making sure that our choice of words was exact, meaningful and provided exactly what the reporter was looking for.Don’t be self-promotional. It won’t work. This is a version of our email template that we use for quote queries. Generally speaking, quote queries ask for a headshot of some kind as well as social links etc.As you can see, the template really isn’t much of a template. It’s mostly a reminder to include all the elements that we feel make for a strong query reply. For other types of queries, we use a slightly modified version of this template. For interview requests or cold pitches, we hand write a custom email for each and every one. Templates are great and they do streamline the process somewhat, 98% of our time is spent crafting the messages that go within the red highlighted text. That is what is providing value to the reporter. Your story is great and I’m sure that you’re an awesome business person, but unless the reporter is specifically asking for personal stories, it doesn’t matter.Provide enough information to assert the credibility of the quote you are going to provide. Not a syllable more.Round UpHopefully this post provided some good info to help you in your use of HARO and other reporter pitching platforms. These steps and procedures have worked well for us so far and we hope they help you in some way as well.In case you want to read the post with pretty pictures included

Think Your Privacy Is Protected? Think Again.
My Instagram account, @sarahstreetmedia was hacked last December.
In my case, I opened an email in my Inbox; the mail looked identical to Instagrams logos, lettering and letterhead. “Your Instagram account has been compromised. Reset your password.” I pressed the link. My account was gone.
Software assures protection, and in most cases even advertise its protection, but If you read the fine print most policies will tell you in the Terms and Conditions they don’t take responsibility for your loss data.
Our personal data can be bought for as little as $0.20, 2018 Current State Of Crime. Because it sells for so cheap, this makes sellers work harder, hunting down personal data anyway they can.
Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg is under the microscope for selling major company’s information to Russia. I personally hope Zuckerberg goes down.
When you download your data from social media platforms, you’ll probably be shocked to discover what it has stored.
And that is exactly what they have access.
Other types include, phishing, negative review and spamming (the cybercriminal will retract the negative review in exchange for cost), and blackmail.
This is why the blackmail works so well.
Proxy hijacking is when a hacker creates a copy of the victims web page on a proxy server, using keyword stuffing techniques, linking the original site to a copied website with the hopes of increasing search engine rankings. The victims site will then rank lower. Search engines like Google will see the victims site as a duplicated website, then Google might remove it from its index.
Keylogging is common in the workforce and keylogging software is available on Amazon. Keylogs record your information by recording your keystrokes. Information is gathered and collected over a period of time.
I personally use Express VPN.
Some sites will prevent your account from logging in if you use a different IP address then what you normally use to log in.
