Not to be a negative little shit during our final hours but I gotta write my feelings out: after reading the leaked scripts I finally figured out what I hate about the shisno paradox writing (aside from the obvious stuff). There's basically no subtlety in anything, any time there's a chance for the audience to interpret a character's behavior themselves they need some third party to walk in and explain the moral like a PBS cartoon. They can't let a character's actions speak for themselves they have to treat the viewer like they're 5 and haven't been watching the same show for decades (which previously WAS able to show and not tell) the audience for this show is adults with characters that are also adults yet they can't seem to grasp that adult audiences can comprehend mature topics. It's so grating.

The idea that Mike took the van/"you're the heart" as a rejection.

Because if he took it as a rejection, then to him, his story is that of a boy whose arc for a year and a half was to overcome a situational and emotional battle with himself to be able to take a step towards doing something for himself. A year and a half of building the courage. And when he reached that level of vulnerability for the first time, worth celebrating, honestly, Will hit him right where it hurts at his most vulnerable and raw.

Always remember that this was not the single week build we saw. He was trying for a long time. And if he took it as a rejection, I bet part of him wishes he never did try. Because then he still wouldn't know the answer and he could keep pretending forever. But the goal was achieved. And now it was over.

it recites like it did the last time Venear left them and before Icarixis could shove those thoughts back into the box they came from Ven shakes his head and apologizes to the ethereal entity before them "you just seem like the kinda person I'd wanna know" and gods above this was going to be so much harder than they thought

Ven has basically requested his own execution and Icarus was granting it because this was his choice not theirs

and they're supposed to be the quixis who doesn't interven not like Midas did but gods they can't stand to look at that friendly smile free of judgment and nothing short of genuine but lacking that spark of familiarity behind it

and suddenly everything is all to much and they turn around but once their back is to the portal they can't make themself turn back

they bite the inside of their lip and squeeze their eyes shut for a moment taking a breath because gods damn it they are not going to cry

and just like that Ven is gone again and Icarus let him go again because that's what he wanted again and they didn't have the strength to watch him leave... again

and if a few tears trail down the newest Quixis's face well there's not anyone here to say anything about it so maybe... just maybe they took a little while longer to start their usual rounds that day
