This piece took a really long time! I think around 18 hours according to procreate. I’ve been wanting to draw DnD Byler for ever, so I tried my best to go all out!

I did my best to add a lot of detail and texture to their clothes which was pretty out of my comfort zone, here’s some very slight color variations as well :)

CALEB SAID THEY MADE PLAYLISTS FOR THEIR CHARACTERS, SO STURN (Finn made this playlist) IS ABOUT MIKE AND HE'S GAY (it has lyrics like "it's so easy to lie to myself and pretend that I could love you but I can't" which is about mlvn and "besides I don't want to be the one whose coming out first") which is about Mike wanting Will to come out as gay first because he's scared and it has a song about a milkshake and about how a relationship wasn't built to last (which is also about mlvn since they had milkshakes in s4)

You know the thing about this scene that I realized is already so promising?

It's a scene of Mike alone. We're getting Mike's POV PERIOD. More information that we were distinctly lacking no matter WHAT. Which also, in having it, reaffirms that we DON'T have all the information.

There is only one scene in season 4 where Mike is completely alone experiencing and it's when he reads El's note. That's it. The entire season. The closest being when he reads her letter, which is a transitional shot into a SCENE that has Nancy in it. There is only ONE scene in the ENTIRE 13 hour season that can only be in Mike's point of view and no one else's.

Season 5 starts with one.

Ooooooooh. We are getting in this boy's head. Which confirms we haven't been. Which confirms that there's more to the story. Which confirms that season 4 episode 9 was not his happy permanent ending.

these are so obvious but only because this stuff is confirmed. Max DID indeed meet her fate in the Creel house. Will IS indeed affected by Vecna in that specific spot on his body. but me theorizing about possible foreshadowing is not okay? that suddenly i'm reaching? reaching, when this show has time and time again told me to remember every detail? that it's crucial information?
