WARNING: PRETENTIOUS CHOIR KID YAPPING Kinda crazy how much of the rtc fandom (THIS IS JUST FROM MY EXPERIENCE IRL AND ME BEING PRETENTIOUS AND NITPICKY ON AO3 I LOVE Y'ALL YOU'RE COOL) doesn't know shit about choir and like ik a lot of choirs do things differently especially smaller choirs hell my school's choir could be doing something wrong ya never know but I can always kinda tell in a fic who's been in choir and who hasn't if you're gonna focus on the choir being a choir try to do it right

And like there's so many ways you could write it well: is it a class or an after school club? Do you have to audition or just sign up? What section would everybody be In? Do you walk in there and father Marcus is super strict and there's no freetime or anything they just lock in and sing or Do they maybe have time right after the class starts and before it Ends where idk maybe Mischa is messaging Talia and ocean is (in a very pretentious fashion) help anyone who needs it understand the music? Do they go to competitions? Give me details please I'm desperate

So fleshing out some kobolds of mine, that trio from a while ago with the faces, now being the adventuring party/spec ops for my dragon sona (both sorc and full dragon)...

Defi, the snowmancer (top), Rebana, the titan (middle), and Tomtom, the geomancer (bottom), in their normal form and their mega form from tapping through their dragon patron's blessing given to them specifically. They do use my three favorite elements so kinda fits... ice, earth, and Big Wrestly Smashy. just saw them as a recurring triple boss that's optional but like.. kind of super boss... First two times you can fight them, the last one standing take on that super form, turning it from 3 annoying bosses into one super boss. Then the third optional fight with them is all three of them in their super form right off the bat (they do give you a powerful piece of gear or something idk, the typical something that you clearly don't need that you've proven you can beat one of the hardest boss in the game, near the of it).

Buuuh yeah, Bellypaw Clan kobolds but now these three have names and actual roles. They're not the -only- representative of these "classes", just individuals, tho Tomtom def is using my initial draw of a geomancer.

Stan and Ford share a single brain cell.

Literally.

It’s the very special brain cell that turns the holder into a genius. It also likes to suck up all new knowledge it can find.

You lose the brain cell? You lose the knowledge.

As children no one was sure which one of them was the smart twin. Maybe they both were. Maybe neither.

The brain cell holder switched freely depending on who needed it the most. However, the older they got the more Ford used it.

He actually liked to study and feed the brain cell, unlike Stan who just shrugged and let Ford have it most of the time. It’s not like he needed it for much anyway except for getting a passing grade on a test. 5 minutes were usually more than enough.

This was all fine until it wasn’t. Until Ford did all the work, put all the effort into studying, only for Stan to steal and misuse his efforts whenever it was convenient for him to do so.

And let’s not forget that time when Stan skipped school and took control over the brain cell right when Ford was supposed to give a presentation.

Ford was the main holder of the brain cell. All his knowledge and studies went into it. Without the brain cell he was no longer a genius and he couldn't fall back on the knowledge he acquired.

Needless to say the fall out of that presentation wasn’t pretty and Stan promised Ford not to use the brain cell unless Ford allowed it.

He kept that promise even when he shouldn’t have. He never took control over the brain cell to check if Ford’s project was really still working as intended, because he didn’t want to break Ford’s trust and lose him over it.

After he got kicked out however, the promise meant nothing. Stan still used the brain cell rarely, but he used it. He had to use it to survive, though he tried to only use it in emergencies or when Ford was sleeping and the brain cell was not in use, which as the years went by became a concerning rare occasion.

One time Stan stole the brain cell from Ford and read all books he could find on the importance of sleep and yeeted the brain cell back to Ford, hoping he would get the message.

Another time he spent a day wrestling Ford mentally for the brain cell just to learn how to cook basic meals because their mother was worried about Ford's eating habits.

These occasions were few and far in between. So few in fact that a certain dream demon never quite figured out what was going on. He was however slightly impressed and very frustrated with how well guarded the important parts of Ford’s mind were.

Ford never mentioned it, in part because sharing the brain cell has always been as natural as breathing and in part because he was ashamed Bill would think less of him if he knew that the genius mind he chose wasn’t truly Ford's alone.

And then Bill betrayed Ford and the age old question of who the smart twin was finally got its answer.

It was Stanley. With or without the brain cell Ford knew, Stanley would have never been this stupid. He would’ve seen through Bill from the start.

Ford’s stupidity has doomed the world and Ford has no way to stop it. Bill owned him.

Oh, but he doesn’t own the important part right? He hasn’t cracked the brain cell yet. The one thing he needed to activate the portal was still out of his reach.

Ford has no way to keep Bill out of his mind, but years ago he found a way to keep the brain cell out. It was supposed to be an emergency measure if Stan one day decided to keep the brain cell permanently, but it will now be used for the exact opposite.

So Ford threw the brain cell into Stan’s mind, blocked it with an unbreakable spell from coming back and fell asleep smiling.

Let Bill do whatever he wanted with his mind and body, Ford was useless to him now.

Meanwhile Stan wakes up with the knowledge of how to destroy the world and dull emptiness where his brother’s presence used to be.

Meanwhile Ford, with the math skills of a second grader, drinks a mental smoothie and laughs at Bill flipping his shit over Ford suddenly being an idiot.

“Ah, sorry Bill. Could you dumb it down a little? I have no idea what you just said.”

Hi anon, first of all, thank you for asking and wanting to understand :3

Please keep in mind that I only speak for myself

To me, it's not so much being asked for a part two that gets to me, it's moreso when it's the only thing a person has to say to me. If I get a comment (which is rare enough that I will be excited just seeing the notification) and just see 'part 2' or 'part 2 when' or 'more pls' etc. it registers in my mind as a complete lack of respect for the time and energy I've put into that piece of writing, as well as making me feel less like a person engaging with people of similar interests and more like a "writing-machine" or "content-creator". By saying nothing but 'part 2' in a comment, the writer doesn't see any of your excitement, but may be prone to seeing it as someone at a buffet knocking cutlery against their plate to signal that something has run out.

So, you want the author to write more of that fic, what do you do?

It's actually relatively easy once you understand why we dislike the demanding/entitled tone of 'part 2'. Using one of the following strategies is a much better way to encourage writers;

Reblog and put in the tags what you enjoyed about the fic, you can even add an "I'd love to see this continued someday" or something similar (<- completely different, supportive vibe)

If you don't feel comfortable reblogging, comment on the fic! Tell us that you enjoyed reading it and that you hope we continue it. Maybe even highlight your favourite part, quote something you thought was funny, anything to let us know what you like.

Send an anonymous ask containing the above if you'd rather not have your url revealed. Being shy is completely fine, I used to send anon asks all the time and still often do.

Bonus:

This one pretty much always gets me, but if you leave a comment (or ask, or tags) along the lines of "this was awesome to read! imagine if [insert idea/brainrot for continuation, can be as simple as a line of dialogue that'd be funny] <- just ask my Singed anon, at least two fics have been written because of their enthusiasm for silly ideas I came up with.

In conclusion; 'part 2' is not a compliment, it is a demand. Highlight what you enjoyed or suggest something for brainrot. Fandom is obsessing over fictional stuff together - don't be afraid to get a little deranged (❁´◡`❁)

Hello! I'm Alex, I'm an Art History student at university and I'm currently working on a paper about Lolita fashion. I just wanted to ask if anyone has any sources, like books, articles or anything of the sort I could use as sources, since I'm having some trouble finding stuff on the matter. I can also use videos, podcasts, documentaries and other stuff as sources, just as long as they're reliable enough.

It's been a little while, I know, and I'm truly sorry for it. I just haven't had the time to pick up a pen or a quill lately. My shop gets flooded during the month of Nightmare Night, you know how it is. Ponies come in looking for decorations (In a curio shop? Strange, I know!) and other oddities to show off, or they bring along an artifact they think is haunted or something. It's fun to see them learn that it isn't, or that it is! Both reactions are part of what makes owning this place fun. I'd love to show you sometime ♡

But that's not why I'm writing to you, I just want to tell you how much I miss you. How much I long to be in your vicinity, we don't even have to be talking or cuddling. I just want to be near you, that's how much I miss you. I want to hear your cute little snorts when something interests you within that book you've read for the umpteenth time. I want to see your eyes light up when you finally realize how to put two, or three, unrelated spells together to make a brand new one. I want to watch your ears flick when you hear a teeny tiny sound that takes you out of your own little bookbound world.

If you'd like to cuddle, that'd be nice too. Your steady breathing and your heartbeat are like music to me. I'd give anything in all of Equestria to be beside you right now. You always smell like an old book, it's one of my favorite smells and I'm glad I get to experience it all the time when we're together. The way your soft, love-filled chuckles hum in your chest, and how your voice softens when it's just the two of us. I don't think there'd ever be a better sound to hear than you speaking to me like I'm the most precious thing in your life.
