#IDW never forgets

Currently thinking about how much I love how IDW shows the consequences to the carnage in transformers, specifically the Wreckers and the whole Overload prison in Garuus(Garrus?) 9 thing. I love how that they show the aftermath to Fort Max's psyche after literally been near dead and lobotomized for years. How when he sees the decepticons in Delphi after waking up from his 5 year coma and absolutely PUMMELS THEM.

He literally decapitated one with his vent latch thingy(not to sure what it is) and while it was metal as hell it shows how he's still hurting and how he's still affected leading to the next issues of mtmte when he snaps.

Correct me if I'm wrong because English isn't my native language but I've got a funny explanation for fandom meta :

When I say I'm a Starscream apologist, it means "I see him committing many crimes and still love him. Maybe I love him because he commits crimes and I support women's wrongs"

When I say I'm a Rodimus defender, it means "I see him committing crimes and deny that they're crimes in the first place. Your Honour my client pleads not guilty"

Basically imo the line between character apologist and character defender is very thin and you cross the border by going nuh-uh when someone brings up said character's flaws.

i kind of want to read stc because ive never read it before but i also never finished the sonic x comics but i also kind of want to re read at least part of archie because certain sections of it are just a huge blur to me because of the fact that i read the entire series including spinoffs and side comics over the course of like . 2 months tops. so many choices so many sonic comics to read .

I chose your first prompt because I never draw these two enough. I had such a hard time figuring out which rendition, I decided to compile most of them like a mad man 🙌 I will say, this was definitely the most fun I’ve had working on a gift. I also adore the idea of these two just hanging out 🫂.

Transformers Animated is so funny because specifically Megatron doesn't seem to be aware of the fact that he is in a kids' show. This man is taking everything so seriously. He goes for the kill all the time. He ignores all the 'this show is for kids' things around him. He spends an entire season as a cut off head and tries to kill the main cast at every moment anyway. Starscream betrays him again and he kills him. Starscream keeps coming back from the dead like a cartoon character? Megs kills him again. And again. Dumps his body out and goes back to serious business. Heroes keep attacking him? Fuck you he's bringing out a wholeass sword and a gun and he will use them. Never gonna forget the one time where Optimus saves him and then immediately after Megs picks him up and uses him as a shield. Everyone around him keeps doing and saying silly stuff for the funsies and he ignores them. Amazing. Irredeemable. He does not deal with cartoony stuff and mostly ignores anything that is like a kids show.

Like you could pick him up and plop him into TFP or IDW no problem, he's straight up a genocidal dictator. I love him and his non-silly ass

If the list light cat shelter had an ending similar to the IDW comic's ending, it would go something like this:

Rung unexpectedly pulls out all the stops, and manages to get all of the cats adopted out! Unfortunately, you can't have a cat shelter with no cats, so the Lost Light is forced to shut down. A few notable fates of the kitties:

Drift and Ratchet get adopted out together. However, Ratchet sadly passes away not long after. He dies in a warm, loving home with Drift by his side.

Tailgate and Cyclonus get adopted out together, and live quite happily. For a long time afterwards, Whirl the goose can be seen loitering around where the shelter used to be. He seems sad and confused about where everyone went. One day, however, he appears in the yard of Cyclonus and Tailgate's new owner, and refuses to ever leave after that.

Rodimus is adopted by Thunderclash. Thunderclash loves him and gives him all the best treats and toys, but he has no other pets, and he often works long hours. Rodimus eventually becomes depressed from the crushing loneliness, his spark completely gone.

Nautica becomes the star of a pet blog.

Chromedome and Rewind are adopted together, however Rewind develops a degenerative disease that eventually leaves him blind. Chromedome spends long hours grooming him after he can no longer groom himself.

Swerve is adopted, surrendered to a different shelter, and then adopted again.

Ultra Magnus' new owner renames him "Minimus Ambus," and brushes him regularly, so he no longer appears as massive as he once did. As it turns out, the newly christened Minimus Ambus is not so grumpy when he isn't drowning under mountains of fur.

Ravage goes away to college and isn't heard from again for a very long time.

I said that all of the cats were adopted...but I lied. One cat simply couldn't find a new home. Unfortunately, the shelter can't stay open just for a single cat, so Megatron was transferred to the only shelter that could take him - a pro-euthanasia shelter. As he is handed over, the shelter worker there says that they don't know how long they'll be able to keep him - they'll try to find another no-kill shelter that will take him, but it's just as likely that they will have to put him down. No one ever finds out what became of him.

The reason Rung suddenly decided to make a big push to get all of the cats new homes? He himself has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. He wanted to make sure all of the cats had a place to call home before he was no longer around to take care of them. When he eventually dies, the world doesn't seem to notice. An obituary in the newspaper is the only sign that marks his passing, which reads: "The world may forget him, but the cats he saved never will."

This has been living in the box for a while and I didn’t know if I wanted to let it out, but I feel like it would be a shame to keep it to myself.

As I keep writing more and more for the Cat Shelter AU, it’s hard to choose what kind of “ending” i want for it, if it would even happen. We all want the adventure to go on forever, right?

In the end, I decided I wanted to make a happier ending for the kitties. However, if the ending did go with the one that happened in the original MTMTE comic, it would probably look a lot like that.

So if Rodimus isn't a Prime in this Au, what's with the name change? Did he carry the matrix briefly like IDW?

Rodimus never carries the Matrix in my AU, at least not so far as I'm aware. His boyfriend and crew started calling him that as a nickname after he defeated Nova Prime (like as a sorta, you defeated a prime, makes you a prime, kind of inside joke). When they got to Earth, Optimus hears Roddy's friends call him that and, seeing how Hot Rod has matured during his time in space, calls him that with a wink and now everyone calls him that. Rodimus likes it, but it's also kinda cringe when his dad does it. He actually properly adopts the name after Optimus dies as a way to honor him. Bumblebee doesnt call him that until he actually makes the name change official, and even now he kinda forgets sometimes.

Also the funniest thing about the IDW one is he isnt called Rodimus because of the Matrix, Swindle called him that once and he liked it. :P

(context: he's lying, no one's calling him that)

Optimus does later give him the name after he carries the Matrix for a bit, but it's hilarious to me that Swindle came up with it first.
