so LITTLE AU LORE DUMP 👅👅👅 (this post is not going to my masterlist bc it's not an official introduction for my au this is jst context)

SOOO in my three cheers au (which ties up into tbp which ties up into dd and becomes one big mcr au but we're not on that yet.....) illi mcmillin and phillip Lero (what I named franks character) grow up to be the demolition lovers, which is what they call themselves to stay anonymous, and become these masked (?) killers BUTTTTTTT they only kill BAD ppl bc I said so 🗣️ guhh but yeah illis a vampire ofc :D and uhh the context for this drawing is that when illi and Phillip died (illi died before Phillip but that's not important, and no illi did not die in the gunfight she went into a coma and THEN died from suicide that totally wasn't actually inflicted by the devil) illi wanted to kill the devil and (bc they're in the paper kingdom (black parade) now bc it's kinda like an in between of heaven and hell for ppl who aren't good but aren't bad either) she went to the vocalist (Gerard, bc the band members named R unknown in tbp) and straight up said "hey vro can I kill the devil :3" and he was like "OMG YES OFC!!!! bout time that bitch is ANNOYING!!!!!" Bc he chill like that and then hands her a special dagger that can kill the devine and gave her access to hell and she absolutely SLAUGHTERED that ho to shreds and then kept his heart as a souvenir for her and Phillip <333 (but dw hell has a voting system bc the devil is so hated that the current one gets killed like every other billion or trillion years or so so they legit gotta keep back ups💀 illi even considered fucking them all over and ruling hell herself BUTTTT I myself have not decided if I wanted to do that so I'm keeping the first idea canon FOR NOW)

Getting strangers on tumblr to try my hyperfixations and obsessions part 2: My Chemical Romance

even though tumblr has a ridiculous amount of MCR fans, there can always be more. Anyways, mcr is my absolute favourite band, and they mostly play emo, alternative rock, pop punk, post hardcore, and FAGGOTRY. Seriously, put a playlist on shuffle and you’ll get ‘I am dying of a terminal illness’, ‘I had aggressive gay sex in prison’, ‘I HATE THE GOVERNMENT sex noises’, and ‘my relationship is falling and I have to kill my gf because shes a zombie’ (mcr fans, see if you can figure out which song is which lmao). And don’t even get me started on how sweet the actual members are. It’s hilarious how a ‘satanic and suicide promoting band’ has members that used to kiss eachother to piss of homophobes, literally turned down working on twilight to play on y Gabba Gabba, has the silliest interviews known to man. Some songs I recommend are the sharpest lives, na na na, demolition lovers, and im not okay. Bangers. This band is like my safe space, I put it on, and suddenly some random 40 something men may as well be telling me ‘it’s alright, you’re doing good’ in my headphones. they’re so fucking good bro. Not to mention that the fandom is HILARIOUS. We see a faint scribble of the name ‘Illi McMillan’ in the im not okay music video, and suddenly everyone is obsessed with them. we’re so starved for content that we basically automatically made lore. THERE IS A CULT FOR HER ON TUMBLR COMMUNITIES FFS. anyways listen to mcr now.

👩 = What’s your muse’s relationship with their mother, what made it that way?

Illyria: Complicated! Eidenghota (just Eid, for short) is the head of the Black Shroud Players, a respected theater company in Gridania. Before that, she was a bard and dancer who made her way contracting on pirate ships. Voyages get long, people get bored, a ship's bard is actually a great investment (plus a big help in battle). Illyria, meanwhile, had absolutely zero talent for music, dance, or performance; she was cripplingly shy and had a bad stutter as a kid. In a lot of ways, Illy felt like she could never live up to her mother's legacy.

Except, well, then, all the Warrior of Light stuff happened. Illy still doesn't feel like she earned all that, even if Eid insists she absolutely did and that she's so proud of her daughter.

When Illyria was about to head off to Ultima Thule, Eid actually traveled all the way to Sharlayan to see her off, and gifted Illy her very own Dancer job stone, so that even if Eid couldn't go with her to the ends of the world, she'd be with her daughter in spirit.

Ryuu: Also complicated. Leonie Serafinaux died five years ago in the Calamity, unfortunately. Leonie loved her daughter, and was more forgiving than her husband Edouard when Ryuu ran away from home at age 14. She and Ryuu actually did exchange a few letters, even though Edouard refused to communicate with his daughter until just before the Calamity (sadly). Part of why Leonie was more understanding was that... well, both she --and-- Edouard were the children of cultists that had fled Ishgard for Gyr Abania, but Leonie's parents were part of a very particular cult called the Daughters of Ratatoskr (This cult is not canon and is one I invented for this story). This cult reasoned that since the Knights Twelve had devoured Ratatoskr, that by breeding certain bloodlines they could "revive" her by producing a child with a large percentage of Ratatoskr's blood, and then feeding the child with blood from one of Ratatoskr's brood. They'd then present the child to Nidhogg. This... never worked, as you might imagine; Nidhogg would generally kill the child and everyone present at the "ceremony" out of rage. Cultists gonna cult though, so they kept trying. Leonie was supposed to be the latest attempt, but her parents were like "Wow actually hell no" and fled Ishgard with her.

Leonie's high concentration of dragon blood, however, meant that much like Rielle in the Dark Knight quests, she did have a lot of strange powers and unnaturally dense aether, so she was less blindsided by Ryuu's Echo than Edouard was (Edouard's family were Peacemakers, a relatively benign cult and precursor to the Disciples of Saint Shiva). She still didn't quite understand it, and worried a great deal for her daughter (especially once she found out that her daughter was homeless on the streets of Ul'dah for five years!), but also always respected Ryuu's choices.

Ryuu misses her a lot. One of her greatest regrets is that she didn't get to see her, or her father, one last time before the Calamity.

I've had a couple of friends in really diverse relationships. 20 y.o trans guy living indepedently and making his own income and 30+ y.o. women living sheltered with abusive family in cult-like village battling past addiction and mental illiness for which this guy is only way to get life-saving medications since her parents don't believe in medicine. who has more power there? or like, two cis girls, 22 and 23 y.o., but one run from family at 16, made her own buiseness, have money and flat and connections etc and other is college student who needs to ask mom's permission to hang out and didn't work day in her whole life. is it perfectly balanced sine they almost the same age?

So true. At the beginning of my relationship with my husband (older than me by about 5 years) I had the upper hand simply because he had never been in a relationship before and was willing to trust whatever I said a relationship should be like. A lot of people in my situation could have done a lot of damage because of that. He was insecure and only had me, having the power (imo) is a little nerve-wracking cause if I made a mistake he wouldn't know and I might realize to late. But it worked out cause I never set out to abuse it. Power dynamics are very real but unless someone starts a relationship with the intent to abuse it like most of the time it's not abuse but just a mismatch of people which is fine and normal. Not all power dynamics are abusive and not all abuse has power dynamics.

Shang-chi and the Legends of Before

it's hard to put entire lifetimes into just a few posts. to put into just a few feeble words, the importance shang-chi has.

shang-chi is a celebration of what asians have always been capable of.

it is a statement, an affirmation to the world of everything that we are.

of the complexities and unique perspectives that only We have because of the culture that we live in and has been passed down to us and is intrinsic to every aspect of our lives.

it is breaking out from hiding, from the niche, from being cult classics

into the mainstream.

into the biggest most popular most accessible franchise in the whole world.

shang-chi represents the opportunity to finally be seen.

for EVERYONE to see who we really are.

and to be celebrated and respected for it.

to be in charge of the conversation.

to be the topic of it.

an opportunity for the spotlight to be on the stories that only we are capable of telling.

and so, in honor and celebration of shang-chi, i wanna talk and band together and rejoice over everything that came before.

everything that led to this moment of breaking through the barriers and into the light.

every little bit of complex unique storytelling that pushed the boundaries and told more and more of our stories.

how they got so unflinchingly big and bold and daring and honest, that they became too big to ignore.

too good to be ignored.

i wanna talk about the stories that got us to this point.

and i wanna talk about the stories we've seen before and we want to see moving forward.

we still want to keep seeing.

the intricacies of asian storytelling that we know and would love if it could show up in the world that shang-chi has now birthed into the marvel universe.

we are witnessing history, my friends.

we are witnessing asian culture be celebrated in a scale it has never before been seen.

and it all starts with this film.

this, is our moment.

i wanna take this momentum of celebration and use it to just further highlight,

just break that door open a little wider.

and just show, really show just how incredible wide amazing & dazzling the plethora of stories asians have.

this is our moment to show the world who we truly are and what we're really capable of.
