🌹rose milk taste test

origin: iran store: tesco price: £1.10

a relatively uncommon flavour in the UK, rose in food isn't something i'm overly familiar with but have heard plenty about. "falooda" is an iranian dessert dish of rose syrup, basil seeds and vermicelli, and i assume this drink aims to recreate those flavours as a milkshake. the scent is subtle and pleasantly floral and the colour is peachy, more orange than it is red. smell is obviously a large part of how we taste, but with my senses being quite dull in comparison to most people i find it hard to understand the feeling. but this drink connects the two more than anything i've ever had; it's sweet and smooth with a perfume taste that lingers in the back of your mouth without becoming soapy on the tongue. it's extremely nice, feels almost too expensive even though it's a reasonable price, and the basil seeds offer a contrast in texture with a mild nuttiness that goes well with the rose. overall it's definitely a drink i will get more often!!!
