there's a little bit of discourse around evangelizing/converting going around today and I don't really have time to write about everything that I'm thinking but like.

I don't think my mission is to convert people. I don't feel called to "convert." I feel called to create pathways to faith for people who have been excluded.

but that does mean evangelism is part of my call. and I won't cede it to the right-wing. part of why we do good works for our neighbors IS so that they will encounter Christ through us. accepting Christ should NEVER be the motivation for giving aid to a neighbor, but the encounter with Christ is part of what Christianity provides. an atheist can do good for good's sake. we do good for Christ's sake.
