Hrkg Chapter 25 spoilers

Thinking about Hirano looking for "normal" in Google. Because... We know he isn't stupid. The guys around the table even joke around that while he may not think about kissing he does like studying and... The whole scene reminded me too much of this one Given scene:

For context, Ue (black hair guy) asks this after his bandmate (Akihiko) tells him that everyone can notice how in love he is just by looking at his face.

This scene has always broke me. Ue is just a highschool guy. Just your average highschool guy (not really, he's a music prodigy but that's beside the point). And suddenly he has this whirlpool of feelings towars his male friend.

Look at his despair. He's screaming this. At least the first part, the actual word "weird" is said after many pauses. I've always imagine he ends up saying it in the fastest most incoherent way possible. In the way you say stuff you don't really wanna deal with. He's sweating, he has lost his words and confidence. Is he weird? Is liking his male friend something he's not allowed to do?

I often wonder what would have happened if someone confirmed his worries. Because clearly, if he's asking it is because he has previously thought about it. About all he is feeling and how it may look for an outsider.

Thankfully, no one does. He gets no confirmation on being weird. He just gets support.

And I want you guys to know that this is not any support. This is support from a bandmate, an older person and most importantly, the guy he admires the most in the world. Ue's worries are met with nothing but understanding. Akihiko even comes out to him at that moment. Surely, being queer can't be something that bad if the person Ue admires so much has always been like that all this time. And even if he was, his bandmates, the people he is closer to, wouldn't judge him for that.

Now, going back to chapter 25...

I wonder if Hirano will have any kind of support.

I wonder if there will be someone to tell him that he is normal and maybe normal isn't even a concept you should wish to embody.

This probably won't have terrible consequences since it's Harusono we are talking about but the whole wondering of whats normal and, even worse, the stress(? of knowing that entering a relationship might mean kissing and other stuff you are not really excited for or maybe even never thought about was such accurate representation of common queer and specifically asexual struggles that it broke me down a bit
