I literally can't make it through ONE episode of elite force. why? oliver. I mean, jake short does his best with what he's given, but the disgusting mischaracterization and writing for his character actually makes me want to crawl out of my skin.

like. yeah. everyone is written much worse and ooc (chase is too angry and grates on my eardrums, kaz is either really smart or braindead which annoys the hell outta me(plus has like. nothing going on after the first ep when they could've done something interesting with his anger), bree is much bitchier, and skylar is WAY too holier-than-thou) but how DARE they take oliver, the sweet boy he was, and twist him into such a disgusting, creepy, frightening character. they could've made something interesting out of his relationship with his mother and the fallout of everything but nooooo, let's make these horrifying jokes at female teammate all the time and have absolutely no substance

Hey does anybody else ever think about how weird it is that Pokémon is going so hard advertising this shiny Lucario for Roy when the HZ team has been so devoted to avoiding leaks about the introduction of new Pokémon like that.

Like, the Lucario is one of the biggest objects on the poster, and Roy’s key stone band (which he doesn’t HAVE yet, mind you) is in full display. Not to mention that the whole thing was revealed on literal POKÉMON DAY.

It all just feels very out of character to me; the HZ team has never been the type to do something like this, especially when they’ve been so careful not to reveal anything about the next arc in the show (which is another thing, because if we didn’t know something bad was going to happen to Friede, I’m sure a lot more people would have been sold on the idea that the show is ending here because there was no apparent direction for it to take post-Laqua).

Don’t get me wrong — I’m ecstatic that Horizons isn’t ending and the time-skip looks like it’s going to be incredible. It just feels off that such an enormous event such as Roy getting a shiny Lucario is just being shown, despite the fact that there’s nothing that’s taken place in the show thus far to even hint at the idea of mega evolution becoming a focus in Horizons. And while I’m sure the HZ team is going to play it splendidly, it does feel a little like it was pressed in there by another source, especially because it’s a LUCARIO, which is easily a Pokémon that the Pokémon Company tends to play favorites with, whereas HZ has what I would say is a good record for including Pokémon that don’t get the spotlight much (I mean, Rayquaza, Moltres, Zygarde, and Entei all getting major roles when they rarely get to show up in other Pokémon media as far as I’m aware despite being LEGENDARIES seems like a pretty decent example).

Nevertheless, I’m sure Mega Voltage is going to be fantastic, even if I feel a bit less sure about the shiny Lucario coming out of nowhere — though it’s probably a means of tying in Legends ZA, if I had to guess — as well as the new main character.
