"If you’re conquered primarily by Africans, expect to be cooked in the oven. If you’re conquered primarily by Middle-Easterners, some of them might show mercy towards you and instead of cooking you, they will convert you to Islam. (Certainly, they will take the few young women still around as concubines.) Thus the white race in Europe might still have some biological continuity under that religion. If you don’t like either of these scenarios, or any combination thereof, then you — or, rather, the Americans post autocoup — will need to change the European regimes and install Based Christian priesthoods instead of the current Prog priesthoods. Patriarchal monogamy works just fine for Europeans, if they actually stick to it. You guys conquered the whole planet back when you took Saint Paul seriously. Then in the 19th century you gradually stopped taking religion seriously (because subversive faggots memetically pozzed up your elite, as they always do), and now the whole planet is about to conquer you. To conscript wombs, you need to stop listening to subversive faggots, and bring back pro-natalist religion. There is no “alternative.” There never was. That’s the only option to save the West."

Happy disabled pride month to the undiagnosed. To those with no idea what it could be. To those who are pretty sure they know, but can't be certain yet. To those whose doctors are trying their best, and to those whose doctors aren't. To those with test results, and those without. To those whose prognosis isn't looking good. To those scared by the course of their symptoms, and with no idea what's going to happen next. Living undiagnosed is hard, and I wish you all luck.
#actually disabled#disabled#disability#disability pride month#me with my repeated inflammatory issues to doctors like ok but there are some parts of the body that you REALLY DO NOT WANT to get inflamed#so maybe we should look into why this keeps happening#instead of shrugging and saying its weird#cause i've already had some scary experiences#i don't want more

Can You Have Joint Pain Without Inflammation
Joint pain is a frequent and aggravating condition that can significantly reduce one's quality of life. Although inflammation is frequently related with joint discomfort, it is not the only cause. Several illnesses, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, and injury, can cause joint discomfort. It is critical to see a doctor to evaluate the underlying cause of joint pain, as there are both inflammatory and non-inflammatory kinds.

like okay we've very intentionally quarantined off all mcyt posting to another blog bc we know it annoys people but at some point i think there should maybe be a conversation around how people treat nascent artistic mediums as particularly foul/offensive/annoying/unworthy of serious analysis and how as a result the artistic capability of those mediums is set back by years while a lot of founding "texts" from these mediums start getting lost and overlooked. comics is wrestling is video games is ingame improv. you don't have to like a particular medium but the barest modicum of respect would really help to make fandom around it less annoying.
#also ''but it's real people'' my ass. have you ever heard of kayfabe. piss off#this is a bit inflammatory and i'm sure we'll regret it later. whatever.

Luke Plunkett at Aftermath is doing some interesting reporting right now with a short article "The Last Thing Video Games Needs Are More Dog Whistles" on how there's instances of major outlets framing the situation at Bioware and EA in ways that appear to subtly frame the layoffs and decline of the studio as the specific result of increased "wokeness" in Dragon Age, namely in Taash existing, which in turn attracts and riles up "the chuds" who buy into the anti-DEI movements sweeping gaming space.
His article is in addition to an observation on Bluesky that business types on LinkedIn are already sanitizing bad faith criticism by the reactionary gamers using speak like "the broader cultural shift" and descending on Veilguard as the latest in a string of other game failures as a result of DEI policies—which Plunkett further points out that these games HAD issues that contributed to any failures. But, those real issues aren't being cited at all by these business types nor is that what is being suggested by these framings. Instead of doing any reflection on especially poor business decisions, development mismanagement, aggressive layoffs to minimize staff costs, unsustainable practices, or difficult economic climate, the problem is still signaled as these games were "too woke" and thus that is why they failed. It is pathetic and cowardly. For me, it is also unsettling.
This is all additionally on the heels of the Sweet Baby Inc. conspiracies, as that "needs right now" in the article links to (requires a subscription). Which is a further worrying context on this framing, part of a worrying trend overall in the games discourse that ignores all factors and real causes to imagine and specifically blame the specter of the culture war and churn the anti-DEI movement, and some outlets and analysts are feeding into that, either out of carelessness, cowardice, or concession. The comparison and connection to traditional journalism and broader political trends is also apt.
As someone who keeps an eye on how things are being reported and works here and there in the cultural criticism space, I agree: we don't need more dog whistles, and we gotta keep an eye out for outlets, masthead or YouTuber or otherwise, that make them.
#To clarify this is not about real and salient criticisms of the games or studios or corporate suites nor to dismiss or downplay them.#This is about how the facts are being framed in the aftermath specifically to suggest specific incorrect and inflammatory things#that cater to a growing and increasingly emboldened reactionary subset.
