FFXIV Write 2023: Master Post & Round Up!

Seven years of FFXIV Write in the bag! Whether this is your first year or your seventh, whether you wrote seven words or seven thousand, GOOD JOB, EVERYONE! And a thank you, as always, to @sea-wolf-coast-to-coast for continuing to host and provide prompts for us year after year.

As with last year, I will not be checking my word count or any other sort of stats; I ended up focusing on that in past years to my detriment, and the point of this challenge is to have fun! It's enough for me that I wrote every day. :D

BUT! October is here--and that it means it's time for my own personal challenge: FFXIV Edit! The heart of FFXIV Write is just to write, regardless of mistakes or roughness, but I do like to go back and revisit my ideas and see if my brain wants to put some more polish on my entries. So, throughout October, I will continue my tradition of posting each of my prompts to AO3 once a day and take the time to give them an edit or expansion or rewrite as I see fit.

Comics read this past week:

Marvel Comics:

Captain Marvel (1968) #13

This issue was published in February 1969. It was written by Gary Friedrich, penciled by Frank Springer, and inked by Vince Colletta. It was 20 pages.

I only skimmed issues #12 and #14 because I’ve read them before for my Black Widow and Iron Man readings, respectively.

The Incredible Hulk (1968) #284-291 and Annual #12

These issues were published across March 1983 to October 1983. All were written by Bill Mantlo, except that issue #286 was an adaptation of a short story and teleplay by Harlan Ellison.

Issues #284-286 and #289-291 were penciled by Sal Buscema, who also drew the layouts for issues #287-288, which were finished by Chic Stone and Jim Mooney, respectively. Issues #284 and #289 were inked by Joe Sinnott. Issue #285 was inked by Chic Stone. Issue #286 was inked by Bob Sharon. Issue #290 was inked by Carlos Garzón. And issue #291 was inked by Gerry Talaoc. All were 22 pages, except that issue #290 was 23 pages.

The Annual was drawn by Herb Trimpe, who drew the character from The Incredible Hulk (1968) #107-142 and #145-193, as well as in The Defenders (1972) #68-81 and the Hulk vs. Spider-Man story of Marvel Treasury Edition (1974) #25. This Annual story was 39 pages, and there was also a 1-page pin-up drawn by Brent Anderson.

Marvel (2020) #1-6

These issues were published across March 2020 to March 2021.

This series was an anthology of works by various creators about various characters, tied together with an overarching story about the Dr. Strange villain Nightmare making everyone on Earth fall asleep and controlling their dreams- the excuse for the various stories. This storyline is credited as that Alex Ross, Steve Darnell, and Kurt Busiek were all the storytellers, presumably meaning they plotted/conceptualized it together. Then the chapters were all written by Steve Darnell, and, across all these issues, the first 15 and 3/4 pages were painted by Alex Ross and the last 6 and 1/2 pages were drawn (including colored) by Mitch O’Connell in a purposefully different style.

Issue #1 contained an 11-page Spider-Man story, which was credited as by Frank Espinosa, presumably meaning that he plotted the story as well as drew (and colored) it, while the dialogue was written by Sajan Saini.

And a 14-page story about Rick Jones and Bruce Banner’s relationship, set during the early days of the Avengers, which was written by Kurt Busiek, drawn by Steve Rude, and colored by Steve Legge.

Issue #2 contained a 10-page X-Men story, set when Wolverine had only recently joined the team, which was written and drawn (including colored) by Dan Baereton.

A 10-page Thing (of the Fantastic Four) story with Spider-Man and Doctor Doom, which was written and drawn by Eric Powell, and colored by Eric Powell with Marissa Louise.

And an 8-page Vision story, which was written and drawn (including colored) by Paolo Rivera.

Issue #3 contained a 12-page Namor the Sub-Mariner story, which was written and drawn by Alan Weiss and colored by Lovern Kindzierski.

A 10-page story narrated by the Watcher about the life and interiority of a comic book artist, which was written and drawn (including colored) by Bill Sienkiewicz.

A 2-page Rocket Racoon story, which was written and drawn (including colored) by Scott Gustafson.

And a 4-page story about the Golden Age character Black Widow and the Red Skull, which was written and drawn (including colored) by Ryan Heshka.

Issue #4 contained a 13-page story about a dystopian timeline where the Earth was taken over by Deviants and humans were their mind-controlled slaves, with the superhero characters we know used as gladiators for entertainment. It was written and drawn (including colored) by Daniel Acuña.

A 10-page Dr. Droom story, which was an ode to the pre-superhero revival monster comics of the Silver Age. It was credited as that the storytellers were Hilary Barta and Doug Rice, and colored by Wesley Wong.

And a 7-page Thing (of the Fantastic Four) story, which was scripted by Alex Ross and drawn (including colored) by Sal Abbinanti.

Issue #5 contained a 12-page story about Wong, Dr. Strange’s helper, which was credited as that Gene Ha and Zander Cannon were the storytellers, and then Gene Ha drew (including colored) the story.

A 9-page Nick Fury story set just after Germany surrendered in WWII, which was written and drawn (including colored) by Adam Hughes.

And an 8-page story about the Wolverine fighting the Hulk, narrated with a conversation between Professor X and Scott Summers. It was written by Mark Waid and drawn (including colored) by Lucio Parrillo.

And issue #6 contained an 11-page Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. story, which was written and drawn (including colored) by Greg Smallwood.

And a 12-page black-and-white Silver Surfer story, with Jim Hammond also appearing in it, set at the end of the world, which was written and drawn by Lee Bermejo.

DC Comics:

the Wonder Woman story in Sensation Comics (1942) #5

This story was published in an issue cover dated May 1942. It was written by William Moulton Marston and drawn by Harry Peter. It was 13 pages.

Ink October 2021 day 8-14

Day 10: Obstacle. Yer one from The Squid Game,,,

Day 11: Divide. RIP Gordon’s Hand.

Day 12: Justify.

Day 13: Hit. Had to math the Batfam’s ages for mine and @cielbyrne ‘s au so I made a little side au where pretty much everyone is the age they were when Damien was 1. Babs (not pictured) is 19, Dick is 16, Jason and Cass are 9, Steph is 7, Tim is 5, and Duke is 4.

Day 14: Belief. Didn’t really follow the prompt but did a little German comic because I’ve been doing duolingo first thing in the morning for a while now.

The Dimensional Pocket Knife

Need a screwdriver? a pen? Maybe a crowbar to open that locked chest? Say no more, the Dimensional Pocket Knife has all you need and more!  ...Well, most of the time.

The Dimensional Pocket Knife starts with 5 charges, and at the end of each day restores 1D4 +1 charges (to a max of 5). Upon use, a player can try to pull a tool of their choice from the pocket knife. They must roll a WIS saving throw, against the DPK's DC of 13. On a successful roll, the player draws the tool they desire. On a failure, the player instead rolls a D100, and draws the corresponding tool from the below list. (NOTE: the DPK works using the rules of Hammerspace, and so can draw tools much bigger than itself from it’s body, e.g, a spear, a crowbar, etc. The DPK itself is the size of a standard pocket knife)

Ended up creating an actual self-sona for @kiokodoodles / @okay-kioko ‘s mermaid pirate AU

This is Vanta ^^ They’re a shy and reclusive octopus-like merperson who like to trail behind ships just out of sight. They have pretty bad vision (I’m not sure how merfolk glasses would work) They like painting with their ink on underwater cave walls

I’m not sure if I’ll give them a human form but I hope you like them ^^

I wasn’t expecting this but this morning I woke up to 100 followers! Thank you guys so much!

So to celebrate I’m going to hold an art raffle ^^ (this is my first time doing one so sorry if I mess up on any details)

OK, FINALLY HOME, TIME TO SAY MY THOUGHTS ON THE TRAILER

The animation was really good, even for Illumination. You can really tell Nintendo *put a lot of money in to make this look good (read: held a gun to Illumination's head to make sure they didn't fuck this up)

So, fun fact about me, before this trailer, I have never heard Jack Black's voice. I didn't even know who he was until he got cast! Still, I gotta, you can tell he put a lot of effort into Bowser's voice, to make it that perfect mix of villainous so you can see why he's seen as a threat but also cartoony enough to be funny.

Speaking of funny, the scene with the peinguins? Hilarious!

Also, internet, can we bully Nintendo into getting rid of Crisp Rat? That man IS not Mario. We did for Sonic's design, we can do it for this.

Toad was pretty ok, he wasn't a dead ringer, but he also wasn't Crisp Rat.

Also, once again, My Boi Luigi is getting buried under the rug! But, at least there's confirmation they didn't fuck him up so....

Conclusion:

Me: I want to see my little boi

Nintendo: Here he comes!

Whelp, time to ramble

TW for implied torture

Instead of trying to gas her, the Keepers decided to lock Audrey up with the rest of the Cyclebreakers

The barrier curtains that cover the cells? Outta here! Audrey interacting with Henry and Sammy (and Norman, he's there too) more then in-game!

During this stint in prison, Audrey sees one of the communication-radio thingies that Allison talked to her on nearby and goes for it while her cellmates cause a distraction!

She speaks into it only to hear instead...Porter?!

He was in the nearby area of one and heard her voice coming out of it and decided to strike up a conversation!

Obviously, she's like, "h e l p m e" and Porter, while kinda not getting the fact that her life's in danger, promises to come save her!

Audrey gives him instructions to find a woman with a sword named Alice and that he has to find a way to take out the power, because his powers would be canceled out.

But then the Keepers come and take Audrey away!

And they uh...let's just say that her punishment was exactly what Bendy was trying to prevent

And that everyone in the prison heard her screams.

And there was a certain someone with incredible hearing far away from the prison who heard her.

A n y w a y s, the next day, there's a power outage! So Audrey, Sammy, Henry and Norman take this opportunity to escape! (With Henry carrying Norman's head)

During the chaos they manage to unite with Porter, Allison, and Tom (the latter two have to be told that Sammy is an ally, so don't curbstomp him please-)

But then the Keepers corner them, and when it seems like they're dead just when they had a chance, the Ink Demon comes and takes advantage of the lack of power to f*ck em up!

While the others want to use Bendy's rampage as cover to escape, Henry, Audrey and Sammy aren't so inclined.

For Sammy, it's relatively simple; he can't abandon his lord! Not at his grand revival! What kind of prophet would he be?

For Audrey, she's having an internal debate. On one hand, she knows the Ink Demon could kill her, if stories from her cellmates are true and he had. On the other hand, he came here, even after what had happened to him here.

(Wilson spilled what he did to Bendy when he came by in a attempt to get Audrey's trust. It Did Not Work)

He wouldn't have done that just for no reason, and the reason that a part of her wanted to believe that it was to help her. (That part of you is right Audrey~)

Henry's having a similar debate, with the knowledge of the Cycle and the fact that's Bendy's one of Joey's pawns too.

The party's left in a stalemate until Porter just straight up yells to Bendy, "Hey silly! We're leaving soon! You don't wanna be left behind!"

And Bendy? He actually listens and heads towards the group

So now we have Allison and Tom trying to run away from Bendy but also trying not to leave Henry, Audrey, and Porter behind, Bendy in his massive Ink Demon self running behind him, Porter quick teleporting and having the time of his life, Sammy frantically screaming about Bendy, Norman screeching into Allison's ears, and Audrey and Henry just trying to keep up and wondering "how did my life get to this point"

It all comes to a climax when they're almost out of the prison when the power comes back on! And the Keepers found them

Bendy's shrinking into Benders and the Keepers are making a move on him and that's when Audrey makes her choice...

...by scooping him up in his arms and yelling at everyone to keep running

A long and heavy chase ensues, until the group manages to hide and shake them off

Thinks about ghosts as a recurring motif in BATDR. In the literal sense with Carly, the Phantoms of the Machine, Memory! Joey, etc. But also thinks about ghosts in a figurative sense. Joey haunting the studio even after dying, but not being the real Joey, just haunted by the monster the man was. Henry being created solely for Joey to haunt and torture. Audrey being haunted by Joey's legacy and not even remembering it. Alice being haunted and tormented over a false standard of perfection. Allison being haunted by Alice and what could have been. For which he got award in school and that award is kept in his school till date.

He started writing poem, short stories, gazal, nazam and songs, bhajans, shabads etc at teen age of 14 in class 8th.

Jacques Villeneuve recently returned to the wheel of a Formula 1 car to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his title win, with Alpine giving him the opportunity to try out their 2021 contender. JSW Energy stock rises 5% as subsidiary to set up hydro project in Chhattisgarh

JSW Energy stock gained 5 per cent to Rs 323.7 against the previous close of Rs 308.30 on BSE. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 53,217 crore.

Shares of JSW Energy hit upper circuit of 5 per cent today after the firm's arm JSW Neo Energy inked an agreement with the Chhattisgarh government for setting up a 1,000 MW capacity of hydro pumped storage project in the state. JSW Energy stock gained 5 per cent to Rs 323.7 against the previous close of Rs 308.30 on BSE.

Shares of JSW Energy opened with a gain of 3.76 per cent at Rs 319.90. JSW Energy is trading higher than 5 day, 20 day, 50 day, 100 day and 200 day moving averages. The large cap stock has risen 257 per cent in one year and gained 7.61 per cent since the beginning of this year Total 0.23 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 73.35 lakh on BSE.

Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 53,217 crore. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 408.70 on October 14, 2021 and touched a 52-week low of Rs 85.10 on April 5, 2021.

"JSW Energy Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary, JSW Neo Energy, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Chhattisgarh for setting up a 1,000 MW capacity of Hydro Pumped Storage Project viz. Hasdev Bango Pumped Storage Project, in Chhattisgarh. With rapid addition of renewable energy capacity in the country, development of energy storage solutions such as Hydro Pumped Storage Projects (PSP) become essential to solve for intermittent power supply from renewables. Hydro pumped storage is a well-established technology that provides adequate peaking power reserves, reliable grid operation, and energy balancing and storage capacity," said the firm in a communication to bourses.

The firm reported a 162.23 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 323.93 crore in Q3 of last fiscal against Rs 123.53 crore profit in the December 2020 quarter.

Sales rose 17.69 per cent to Rs 1,893.54 crore in Q3 against Rs 1608.86 crore in the December quarter of 2020.

JSW Energy began commercial operations in 2000, with the commissioning of its first 2x130 MW thermal power plants at Vijayanagar, Karnataka.

Since then, the company has steadily enhanced its power generation capacity from 260 MW to 4,559 MW having a portfolio of thermal 3,158 MW, hydel 1,391 MW and solar 10 MW, ensuring diversity in geographic presence, fuel sources and power off-take arrangements.
