The Visitor - Chapter 3
Short summary: Jack finds Sally sleeping outside his house, so he invites her inside.
Pairings: Jack/ Sally
Chapter Three
words of love
"Sally? Sally are you okay?"
The ragdoll was lying on the floor, her head pounding furiously in pain.
After walking into the kitchen, she had hit something, and fallen backwards. During her fall, she had slammed the back of her head into the counter before hitting the floor, momentarily knocking her out. When she gained consciousness a few seconds later, the first thing she felt was a hand placed on her arm, followed by a voice softly calling her name.
"Sally? Sally please!"
The hand on her arm gently nudged her. She stirred, blinking her eyes open slightly. It took a second for her vision to focus, but when it did, she wasn't at all surprised by what she saw.
Jack was sitting next to her on the ground, on his knees. He was leaning toward her, trying to wake her up. Worry was plastered all over his features.
"Ow..." Sally winced as pain continued to throb in the back of her head. The ragdoll carefully blinked her eyes the rest of the way open.
"Sally!" Jack let go of her arm. "Thank god, you're awake. I am so sorry, are you alright?!"
She struggled to sit up, leaning her back against the counter. She rubbed her hand against the bruised spot on the back of her head, hoping to reduce the pain.
"Er...yeah..." She answered, "I-I'm alright..."
Jack tilted his head. "You don't sound very well..." Sally waved it off.
"I just fell, is all. I'll be fine..."
"It looked like quite a nasty fall, though- you seemed to hit your head pretty hard. You're not dizzy are you? Does it hurt?" He looked concerned.
She rubbed her head again. "Of course it...hurts a little, but, I assure you, Jack, I'm fine. And...no, I'm not dizzy."
The skeleton sighed. "...alright.." He stood up, taking a second to smooth out his pajama top before turning back to his injured friend and holding out his hand to help her up. "Please, forgive me, Sally...this is my fault. You crashed directly into me- If I'd have-"
"-No, Jack, It's okay. It's more my fault than yours.." She took his hand and stood up. "If I had been looking where I was going, I wouldn't have ran into you. Even then, It's really not that big of a deal. I'm fine, see?" She turned her head and smiled a little. "If anything, I should be the one apologizing for..bumping into you.."
Jack shook his skull.
"Nonsense. I'm not the one who hit my head..." He sighed again. "I'm just...I'm glad you're okay." Sally nodded.
"Yes...I'm fine" she assured him, and she was serious. The pain was starting to fade.
Jack nodded once. He looked at her for a moment before asking, "..What were you coming out here for? If you don't mind me asking...." He tilted his head. "It's just that it's..rather late, and, I expected you to be asleep by now, considering how tired you were."
Sally blinked. "Oh! Well..I..." she rubbed her arm. "I've just been..having some trouble sleeping, is all. I just came out to get a drink." she looked back up at him, letting a piece of hair fall over her shoulder. "...what are you doing up?" she asked. Jack smiled.
"Same as you, it seems.." he chuckled. "I was just getting some water myself. In fact, here-" He reached over to the counter and picked up a small glass, already filled with the clear liquid. "I haven't drank out of it yet- so you can have mine"
Sally took the cup from him. She felt her cheeks begin to warm. "Oh..Jack..are you sure?" She asked, looking down at the glass in her hands. It was cold. Jack nodded.
"Of course," he answered, walking over to the nearby cabinet. He opened its door and reached inside, pulling out a new glass for himself and then walking back over to the sink to fill it. "Not a problem at all."
Sally smiled, biting her lip a bit. "Well...Thank you..." she said, bringing the cup up to her ruby lips and taking a few sips. It was very cold, very refreshing.
Jack watched her for a second, before bringing the cup up and taking his own drink. His was also very cold.
After a second, the two both put their cups down. Sally wiped her mouth. It was then that it occurred to her- she remembered the real reason she wanted to come get a drink. Not because she was thirsty- but because she was afraid. All those thoughts about the Doctor came back to her. She had never escaped from the tower for this long before. It had been hours! Worse yet, it was the middle of the night! What was she supposed to tell him when she got back?! She can't possibly come clean and admit that she spent the night in the king's manor! Especially since the Doctor knew about her feelings for him! How would that look?! But she can't just lie! Sally was terrible at lying!
The feeling of sickness returned to her stomach. Her face went pale. Finkelstein was going to be very angry. She was scared of him when he was angry. Oh, what was she to-
"Sally?"
A soft voice called, cutting off her thoughts. She looked up. Jack was watching her. He put his cup down on the counter and walked over to her, until he was standing right next to her. He studied her carefully, concern in his sockets. "...is something wrong? You don't look well..."
"Jack....I...." She closed her eyes. As much as she didn't want to bother him with her own problems, she felt as though she didn't have a choice. What else was she to do? Jack was probably the one person who would be able to help her. Besides, it's not like she was going to disturb him- he was already awake, down here with her in the kitchen, asking what was wrong. She sighed. "Yes, Jack...something is wrong..." She kept her eyes closed and her head down. Jack, meanwhile, was frowning.
"Oh, dear...I'm sorry. What's the matter?"
"...Jack..could you...could you come back to the sofa with me?" She asked, looking up at him now. "I really...need to talk to you. And it feels like a more appropriate place..."
The skeleton tilted his head, taking a moment to think. When Sally noticed him hesitate, she added quickly. "-I know, it's late, and I'm sure you'd rather be going back to bed, but...I need your help..."
Jack nodded. "Of course, Sal. I don't mind." He gave her an understanding smile. "I can tell something is bothering you. I am more than happy to help you in any way that I can."
A tiny smile formed on Sally's lips as well. Her face flushed a bit.
"Thank you, Jack....that means..so much to me.."
"But of course!" He placed a hand on her shoulder. "You're one of my closest friends, Sally. I'd do anything for you."
She blinked, her face flushing darker. The Ragdoll just stared at him..not sure what to say. Jack spun her around.
"Come on, now. Let's get back to the couch, and you can tell me what's troubling you. Okay?" Sally nodded, walking alongside him. She blushed as their arms touched.
"Yeah..."
——
By the time they got back to the sofa, Sally felt a little bit calmer. Not much, but better. At least she now felt ready to tell her friend what was causing her so much trouble.
She sat down on the sofa, and he sat next to her, turning to face her immediately.
"Now..." He started, "...please, tell me. What's wrong?" he tilted his head a bit. Sally sighed, unsure where she should even begin. Jack, noticing her hesitation, continued. "....there's something going on at home, isn't there?" he guessed. Sally bit her lip. After a second, she nodded.
"Yes..."
"I thought maybe...." he frowned. "You don't seem very...happy there. At the tower, I mean."
She shook her head. "I'm not...not very happy at all.." Sally looked down, a sad expression on her face. It pained Jack to see her like this. He placed a hand on her shoulder.
"..If you don't mind me asking, why is that?"
".....the doctor."
"What?" He raised a skullbrow. "Doctor Finkelstein? What's the trouble with him?" She turned back to face him again.
"He isn't very kind to me....all I ever really do at home is work and chores. But..that isn't the main problem."
"Then...what is?"
She played with her hands nervously.  "He doesn't..let me leave the tower.."
"What? I've seen you in town before-"
"-I'm not supposed to be..."
The skeleton looked a bit confused. "Then...how-"
"I have to sneak out, Jack." She confessed, picking at her nailpolish. "I-I'm sorry, I just....I hate being stuck there all the time! It's awful. The tower can get so suffocating. But..he gets mad when I leave like this..so I try not to. But sometimes, I just can't help it.."
"So that's why you didn't want me to take you back?" she nodded as he continued. "...you had run away earlier tonight, hadn't you?"
"Yes..I did. The Doctor had come into my room to yell at me. I got upset and..all I wanted to do was leave."
"Yell at you?" Jack tilted his head. "What for?" Sally bit her lip, wishing she hadn't said that. Her face flushed.
"Oh..uh, it's really...just...the reason isn't really important right now, you know?" she excused quickly. He looked a bit puzzled for a second, before his expression softened.
"I see.." he shook his head. "..This doesn't seem right, Sally. There's absolutely no reason he needs to be keeping you there."
"I know..."
"Would you like me to have a talk with him? I'm sure I-"
"-No!" She shouted. Jack blinked, caught off guard by the way she raised her voice for the second time that night. "Jack, please, don't talk to him about this. He can't know what I've told you. I'll be in worse trouble than I'm already in.."
The skeleton sighed. "Alright, then. I won't." He paused before adding, "..I'm very sorry you have to deal with this. You don't deserve it. You should have just as much freedom as anyone else."
"I know...but it's alright. I'm fine, really. Just..." she looked him in the eyes. "...you don't care that I've been sneaking out?"
"What?" Jack placed  a hand on her shoulder. "Of course I don't. If he won't let you out, do whatever you need to. I mean... if you don't escape, I'd never get to see you. We can't have that! You're one of my dearest friends, after all." The ends of his stitched lips curled into a smile as he finished his sentence.
Sally's mouth gaped slightly and the blushing on her face darkened. She couldn't hardly believe what she was hearing. She had expected him to be angry with her when she told him about breaking the rules and disobeying the doctor- or at least, disappointed. But he wasn't either of those things at all. In fact, he was encouraging her. Why? Because he wanted to see her.
"Jack, I.." she placed a hand on her face. "..th-that...means so much to me to hear...from you. I don't know what to say...thank you...."
"You're welcome." he nodded. "-and I'm happy to help in any way that I can."
"Oh! That just..reminded me.." She told him, sitting up straight. She had almost forgotten the original reason she wanted to talk to him about this in the first place! She cleared her throat before continuing. "There..ahem...actually is something I need your help with...if you're willing.." He nodded.
"Oh, for sure. Anything for you. What is it?"
Sally looked down, her face still pink but her expression saddened. "Finkelstein will be very angry with me when I go home in the morning. And even more angry if I tell him I stayed...here. I just..wanted to ask you if you could maybe..come with me, and try to talk with him? I just hate it when he locks me in my room for so long..." She looked up at him as she finished her sentence. There was a look of understanding in his sockets. "..I just think he'd listen better to you than he would to me. Just explaining..you know...what happened."
Jack closed his eyes momentarily before nodding in response. "You know what? I think you're right. And I don't want you to get in trouble, of course. I'd be more than happy to come along and assist." He smiled.
She smiled back at him, all traces of sorrow gone from her stitched face. It made her heart swell to hear him say that. She knew she was blushing again.
"Thank you very much, Jack." She cooed softly.
"No problem."
Sally sighed. She knew she could count on him to be there for her. He was always there for her. As she stared up at the smile plastered onto his adorable skull, another wave of admiration crashed over her. She closed her eyes.
"Why are you so kind to me?" she blurted out. Even if it was a strange question, she just needed an answer. It really felt like she didn't deserve him.
Jack looked confused. "What do you mean?" he asked. Sally went back to playing shyly with her hair.
"It's just that...ever since you found me outside your home earlier, it's been one kind gesture after the next. I almost feel like I don't deserve it." She gathered her courage to look him in the eyes, scooting a bit closer to him, "..like I don't deserve you."
He stared at her for a moment, unsure how to respond. He was tapping the sofa with two of his fingers. He had a strange look in his eye sockets that reflected a 'can't believe what I'm hearing' look. Then, he shook his skull.
"Sally, of course you deserve it. I'm treating you the way you should be treated: with respect. You're my most trusted friend, and I care a lot about you." He shifted closer to her until their legs were almost touching. "-You're the most kind hearted person I know, and every moment we spend together is enjoyable. I tend to feel in a better mood when you're around, probably because you're such an easy person to talk to- and I appreciate that very much. You've always listened to what I have to say, regardless of what it's about, whereas everyone else just wants to know about my plans for Halloween or throw compliments at me. But...not you. And that's something I just love about you, Sally." He finished his sentence with a soft tone and leaned towards his friend, without realizing it. Sally leaned in as well, her face was flushed and she looked like she was about to cry from the way his words touched her. "...so, please, don't ever say you don't deserve me. Because you do."
"Oh, Jack..." Sally wiped her eyes. "D-Do you...really mean it?"
A wave of adoration for his friend swept over him as he looked at her. She just looked so...cute. Jack was feeling things in his ribcage now. Things he'd never felt before, and couldn't recognize. But right now, he didn't care. Instead, he smiled, letting his eyes go half lidded as he leaned in to give her his answer.
"Every word."
For Sally, that was the last thing needed to be said. She felt so much love for this skeleton in her heart, she thought it might explode. She closed her eyes.
"You don't know how much that means to me to hear..from you of all people." She reopened her eyes and looked at him half lidded. "I care so much about you as well. I always..love it when I see you. You make me very happy, Jack. Sometimes I..I don't know what I'd do without you..." She closed her eyes again, blushing.
Jack closed his eyes as well. He felt..strange. What was this feeling? It was so new..but exciting! But...what exactly was it? And why was he feeling it right now of all times?
'You know what? Who cares' Jack decided. Whatever this feeling in his chest was, he liked it. It made him feel happy, and for some reason, when he opened his sockets a bit and saw Sally sitting next to him, it grew a lot stronger.
There was undoubtedly love in Jack's heart. Even if he couldn't recognize it.
"I feel the same about you"
At this point, neither of them were fully paying attention to what they were doing, so caught up in the moment and both their hearts full of emotion.
Eyes closed, it only took a second for them to drift closer, and closer, until their lips interlocked.
It sent a jolt of electricity down Sally's back, but her brain hadn't caught up yet and she barely even realized what was happening.
Neither of them did.
After a moment they both pulled away, still dazed. But as soon as they opened their eyes, their expressions of pure love were replaced with complete shock. It only took Jack and Sally a second to realize what just happened.
They just kissed.
They just kissed.
They both stared at each other, frozen and wide eyed. Sally felt like she was malfunctioning. Her heart was pounding furiously inside her chest and she could feel the flustered heat radiating off her face.
Jack didn't feel much better himself. It was probably a full minute before he finally spoke up. He managed to get full words out, although his tone was slightly shaky.
".....well..I, uh, should be getting back to bed now, I suppose..."
The ragdoll gripped the sofa. "Yeah..." she responded, "I-I guess that's...probably a good idea. I-it's getting late, after all.."
Jack nodded. She noticed he seemed to be avoiding her gaze. The skeleton stood up off the couch and brushed himself off. He took a few steps over to the door and opened it, but paused before leaving.
"...goodnight, then.."
"....goodnight.."
And with that, Jack sighed, leaving the room and shutting the door quietly behind him.
Sally stared into the darkness. She was still trying to wrap her brain around what just happened.
Jack Skellington, the man she's had the biggest crush on for as long as she can remember, had just showered her in compliments- and then she kissed him.
And he kissed back.
A warm, happy smile spread across her face. She closed her eyes, running her finger along her lips.
'I actually did it...I actually kissed him...'
Part of her couldn't hardly believe it. But it was true- she really kissed him.
Sally fell back onto the couch, pulling the covers up under her chin and giggling. Her heart soared.
Maybe she had a chance with the love of her life after all.

( marilyn lima, demifemale, she/they )╰ ✧ ˔ ⭒ magic is in the air ! oh wait - that’s just our newest neighbor, SALLY FINKELSTEIN, the TWENTY-FIVE year old SEAMSTRESS. they’ve been relocated from pastoral city, and so far the locals claim that they’re SENSIBLE and DIFFIDENT, just like SALLY from THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. if you ask me, they seem like the type to enjoy THE STEADY THRUM OF A SEWING MACHINE IN USE & BUNDLES OF HERBS HUNG TO DRY IN THE WARMTH OF YOUR KITCHEN. apparently, they are RELIEVED about entering rome pines, and i don’t think their power of CLAIRVOYANCE will help them this time. let’s just hope they can adjust to the new neighborhood…⭒˔ ╮{ ooc: honey, 22, EST, she/her }
hello again , my dears ! it’s honey again , bringing you all my dearest sally . some basic info / backstory can be found beneath the cut . please note that there are mentions of  parent death , death , mental illness , emotional abuse , & depression. if there is any other potentially triggering content that i’ve not tagged , please don’t hesitate to message me !
so , to start , sally actually was not effected by the fire in pastoral city in terms of losing her home or forcibly having to move as a result of it . she moved to rome pines around age nine shortly after the untimely death of her parents due to an accident . she would go on to move in with her estranged grandfather . he lived in an old manor on the fringes of bald mountain , alone up until sally’s arrival .
her grandfather , doctor percival finkelstein , was an arrogant & unstable man ; though he’d never deigned to receive a diagnosis , insistent that he had no faults , and certainly no symptoms of illness , he suffered from narcissistic personality disorder . he was a particularly controlling father and used manipulation & emotional abuse keep sally’s mother under his thumb . as a result , her mother had fled once she’d turned 18 & had kept him at arms length , especially after the birth of her daughter . his behavior had changed very little since that point , and he treated his granddaughter much the same .
living with him was similar to living with a warden : he was a severe man who expected sally to do as she was told the moment she was told to , and not a half second later . if she took to long , or did not perform to his liking , she was punished . if he said she wasn’t going out , as he frequently did , then she wasn’t going out & that was final . what he hadn’t accounted for , however , was sally’s determination . she would eventually find ways to creep past his watchful gaze , and would often sneak out at all hours of the night , returning in the early hours of the morning .
if dr. finkelstein caught her in the act , however , her punishment was swift . often he’d lock her in an old closet in pitch darkness and leave her there for hours on end under the guise of giving her time to think about what she’d done ; during these times sally would often sit in quietude and daydream about the day when she’d finally get away . when he returned , she’d put on an act of repentance that played to his ego . in this way , her rebellion was often quiet . there were moments where she’d talk back to her grandfather , but they were few & far in between . sally found that sometimes the best course of action was simply to bite her tongue and let him burn himself out so that she wouldn’t have to suffer the consequences .
as she often wasn’t allowed out save for school or other necessities , she found her own forms of entertainment at home . she could spend hours going through her grandfather’s old medical & biology textbooks , and she loved to work with her hands . her mother had taught her the basics of sewing before her death , and she’d often exhaust time by stitching together old blankets into something new . she would sneak flowers in from outside to dry and press between worn pages of a heavy thesaurus , which she kept hidden beneath her bed .
as sally grew older , so too did percival , and his health & independence began to drift down a steady decline . he began to require more help at home than the chores he regularly tasked her with , and before long , she played more at being his caretaker than she did at being his granddaughter . it played into his hand rather favorably , unfortunately ; sally often felt overcome with guilt in regards to being there to assist him . he would frequently manipulate her by using the situation to his advantage . for instance , if sally insisted she had to go out for some reason that night - say it was school related , as that was often an exception , percival would turn and remind her that if she wasn’t there to make dinner , he’d be left to go hungry until she returned home . he would also regularly remind her that he was the reason she wasn’t on the street , or stuck in foster care , and that she ought to be grateful to him . it reinforced the feelings of guilt & responsibility she felt to him , and left her quite trapped .
up until the age of 22 , sally sacrificed much of her own happiness & social life in order to meet percival’s constant demands . he passed that winter , and in his wake , sally was left behind in the old manor with her memories . her grief was confusing ; a combination of equal parts relief , sadness , and you guessed it : more guilt .
she still resides in the old manor & is currently working on having it renovated . while the space houses some bad memories , she has high hopes that she can turn it into something that feels more like her home , and make happier memories within it . she used a portion of her inheritance money to purchase an empty storefront on the storybrooke strip and has recently opened up her very own boutique ! she sells her own products , mostly unique handmade / custom clothing , pieces of artwork / embroidery , and also partners with other local artisans to sell their products for a small percentage of the profit .
sally is noticeably sheltered & reserved . she was raised to be meek & obedient , seen and not heard . she still retains these behaviors , even if they sometimes frustrate her , as they’re what she’s known for years - she’s still figuring out who she is , and who she wants to be . she’s doing her best to break out of the shell she’d grown to protect herself , but as with anything else , it isn’t as easy as snapping ones’ fingers and having it be done . she trusts her intuition and is grateful for her independence , though sometimes this is a result of her being too afraid to ask for help . at first glance she might read as being timid or too distant , but truthfully she’s quite brave and ambitious .
her power of clairvoyance is a tricky thing , indeed . it’s not as simple as simply just knowing the future , or having a vision as clear as day to provide insight . her clairvoyancy manifests itself in a few notable ways : she will sometimes have flashes of a vision or a fleeting emotion or thought , though they’re rarely complete . if it’s related to an unknown person or situation , it can leave her quite puzzled ; sometimes she’s able to put the little pieces together and figure something out about the situation . she also tends to have strange dreams that seem very lucid about current , past , or future events . sometimes she just starts vibrating with this sudden anxiety and she’s like . . . is this just my usual anxiety or is something up
huge worrier . also a mom friend . she’s very used to putting others’ needs before her own , which isn’t good , but it’s normal to her and it’s not a habit she’s yet to break . it’s easier to care for others than to focus on herself .
she doesn’t care much for coffee , but she ADORES a good cup of tea. she’s also a pretty bad insomniac - sometimes her visions keep her awake , or she’ll wake up from one of her lucid dreams and be totally unable to sleep afterwards . the majority of her time spent learning to crochet , knit , sew & embroider took place during the dead of night because she couldn’t sleep , and she likes having something to do with her hands .
owns two cats and a snake !
if u see a spelling or grammar error no u didn’t . i am probably forgetting things but anyway

lol u guessed it it’s me , again , by unpopular demand - i am so sorry. third muse already bc i can’t keep myself away from playing absolute CINNAMON ROLLS so that’s what u can expect from sam w/ a pumpkin spice twist. bc nightmare is my absolute favorite movie and ... halloween, motherfuckers. so as usual this will PROBABLY end up long bc i love writing sam so much so yeah , more below !
HISTORY
So as we know , Jack & Sally were sent to the Isle w/ the rest of Halloweentown for trying to steal Christmas ! And unlike Christmas , Samhain was not born in Halloweentown. In fact , he wasn’t even born - he was made.
Magic wasn’t a huge thing on the Isle - but a resource of science was Dr. Finkelstein , and despite the limited resources and technology on the Isle , the couple begged the mad scientist to create another child for them. And from Sally , it took a lot of convincing , but Jack was able to talk him into it.
It took even more of an effort to pull off , again considering the state of the Isle. But a good few months into the project and Jack & Sally were greeted with the cries of a tiny ragdoll baby boy. Keeping up with the holiday themed names , he was named Samhain - Sam for short.
He grew with multiple touch-ups from the doctor to simulate an actual boy growing up - every year , a check-up making him taller , stronger , etc. And in that process he started to look more and more like his mother , with her big eyes and stitched smile and patchwork clothes. But he grew up loved by his brother & parents - though it never quelled the fact he always wanted... more.
He was loved , he was coddled , and as sheltered as a child could be on the Isle. So , much like his mother , he took a habit of sneaking out frequently and trying to fit in with the other Isle kids , even though he knew he didn’t.
He just wanted to fit in. That was it. And it started off with him wearing large hoods and heavy clothes to hide the stitches on his body as well as masks to cover facial stitches. And while some other Isle kids found him odd and sticking out like a sore thumb , some found him cool. Some found him interesting. But nobody really knew what he was hiding - and it added mystery to someone so NICE , because Sam’s overall sweetness could rival that if sugar’s.
Curiosity only reached dangerous points though when Sam snuck out on night to camp out with friends - and when everyone else was asleep , one removed his mask , and of COURSE did Samhain immediately wake up. He didn’t stay to see the reaction of the other when revealing his stitches , too afraid that he’d be seen as scary or repulsive for what he was. And he ran. He ran back home , locking himself in his room , and those friends he routinely hung out with . . . well , he didn’t talk to them much after that. Because what if they knew , now ?? What would they think ??
Villain & Auradon kids coming together was a new chance for Sam to try and fit in - be more in his element. He was immediately acquainted with a magic-practicing individual ( could be an AK or a VK - this’ll be a wc ) who struck a deal with him to offer him glamours so he could look less scary. Of course , these glamours would have to be applied and would wear off until the next application , but it’d make him feel more comfortable - even though he WOULD technically be hiding who he is.
While Christmas , the elder sibling , would be sticking around in Auradon Prep , Samhain would prefer to move immediately to Auroria University to try and figure out who exactly he wanted to be , and how he could do that. Currently he’s majoring in Nursing , given he’s always had a rather NURTURING and charitable nature - never turning down someone else’s request to help.
CHARACTER & FACTS
So lemme get this one thing out of the way bc if I don’t I’ll be itching about it - but all my resources for ( the love of my life ) Rocky were made by me , and while they’re all from multiple eras from both R5 & TDE , I imagine Sam to resemble how Rocky looks around the post-Louder , Heart Made Up On You & Sometime Last Night eras ( basically from like 2013-2015 ). Here , here , & here for some references. I’m nOT DONE GIFFING THOUGH bc frankly I find giffing him therapeutic.
Now I don’t have a drawn reference or anything for this next part so we’re gonna have to use our imagination here but unglamoured , Sam basically looks like his mom in terms of the fact he’s a little ragdoll baby. Putting on a glamour doesn’t change his appearance much save for the fact the stitches disappear and he looks more human.
The glamour is an enchanted bat charm he wears around his neck that can also be used as a hairtie. And it has to be refreshed every so often , so he has to keep going back to whoever provided him with it so it doesn’t lose its effect.
He still has a backup mask just in case , and he’s been practicing with makeup if need be.
Personality-wise , the best one can describe Sam as is sweet and polite. I included tht Stranger Things quote at the beginning 4 a rEASON bc he’s honestly such a sweet kid and will give anything to anyone.
And also bc I imagine Sally as Joyce mom-wise so yEAH bt I digress.
He knows his manners and treats everyone with the UTMOST amount of respect , which makes it extremely easy to get along with him . He’s also maybe a tad bit too giving for his own good , since it’s incredibly easy to use that to one’s advantage and he’s so inclined to believe people have the best intentions. An optimist , even if it’s to a fault. And then when he gets hurt he just sits to the side feeling sorry for himself like “ :’’’(. ”
Now when I say he’s inflexible , I mean that Sam is a very ORGANIZED person who likes things to be done a certain way - like , he can never do anything without a plan , and if even something slightly goes out of what the plan pertains of , he panics. He’s a goody-goody and he’s afraid to break the rules , which is why he’s still hesitant to even do things with the friends who are more “ bad ” than he is.
Everything has to be done BY THE BOOK and if it isn’t then something is bound to go wrong and Sam’s too worried about that happening.
He’s also incredibly insecure about his appearance but I think I’ve hammered in that fact enOUGH ALREADY
But if he takes his glamour off in front u that’s like. A Major sign of trust. So beware.
Again as I mentioned he tries to hang out with kids with the lesser reputations because :
1.) He wants to give them a chance
2.) He wants to make sure they have a friend to look after them
and 3.) He’s so used to trying to fit in with the other Isle kids that he’s trying to be ‘bad’ himself but it never works out bc he’s so sweet and he can dress in skinny jeans and leather and shit as much as he wants but at the end of the day he’s still Sweet Lil’ Samhain.
One thing he’s always had a fascination with would be angels - he’s always believed in them , always though he’s had his own guardian angel watching over him somewhere , he’s always loved the idea of them. He has lots of angel decorations around his dorm as well as ornaments and stuff for the holidays. It’s also pure irony that he just so happens to be just as angelic in nature.
He’s also a big holiday person like the rest of his family and loves helping to decorate for events and stuff !!
One of his greatest talents is his ability to play both the piano & violin , and he’ll often do that if there’s a piano in common areas or so on. He’s also a talented singer , but he’s so used to putting that to the side , making him lack confidence in his voice.
i v much encourage u to listen to the song i linked i find his voice so....soothing.
Like his mom he’s also very good at cooking , sewing , etc. !! Often has to stitch himself back together if he gets hurt - you know , Sally style.
More basic facts are that his final height clocks in at 6′4 , he’s homoromantic homosexual , and identifies as masculine non-binary who doesn’t really care how you address him. He’s very chill. And sometimes he has to walk with a cane of sorts if his stitches are loose or if his legs are feeling especially weak.
but yeah that’s it on that end !!!
WANTED CONNECTIONS
So obviously - the person who provided him with the glamour. Only requirement is that ur character’s good at magic or something of that sort.
AND ALSO - I’d love the person who initially removed his mask !! Sam didn’t stick around to see them react to how he truly looked , so it’s all up to you on how this character feels. But he’s avoided them since that scenario.
Also , his group of friends around the time that scenario happened on the Isle. Maybe they’re a little more rough around the edges than him , but this group was always tight-knit. And then Sam lightning mcghosted bc he wasn’t sure if now they knew what he really was.
Ppl who think his whole sweet thing is fAKE bc we know it isn’t but it’s so easy to THINK it is.
Also would love some folks he routinely cares for maybe in the aspect of like. Bein their shoulder to cry on. Patching up a wound. Just being There for them.
Folks who in general just wanna know more abt him bc he is kind of a mystery !!
Would lOVE sb who his glamour wears off in front of and he begs them to keep his secret but instead they want him to try n be more comfortable w/ himself and who he is. Bc he’s a cute ragdoll let’s b honest he just. Doesn’t see himself that way.
Ppl who Sam crushed on at the Isle and deffo broke his heart bc life just b like that sometimes
Also present day folks who r just ready to break his heart bc again thats so easy to do
also once more i’m open 2 ANYTHINNNNNNG sam is my Baby(tm) and i’d lov any plots thrown his way !! will probs make another wc page for him like i’ve done w/ luke and am in the process of doing w/ trixie !!
