He’s lore/backstory quite ..sad at first so here let’s start!

When he was alive he was wealthy man with a wife (that he loved very much) and some say they had a son too, one of his passions was to grow a farm one day but bc it was not so acceptable in rich families to work this kind of jobs so when he got married he use his money to grow secret farm away from his new home so no one will judge him he mostly grew pumpkins and he everyday go there to take care of his precious farm.. but his wife one day found out he’s been sneaking outside in early hours or late at night..never understood why..she thought he may cheating on her and she got so upset..she one day had enough ....she cut off his head and she saw he had secret farm a bit later on, she had no choice to hide his body in a scarecrow and the head she hide it deep into a lake so nobody will discover him and if they will, they never know which body it was..because he’s head is missing.. but because it was Halloween somehow the Halloween miracle he was awake? but with no head attached to him ..he search for new head for day after day..then one day he remembered he had pumpkin patch ,so he took some pumpkin and a candle inside the mouth and the legend say he still walking around until this very day..but only on Halloween night...frighting the people.. (of course he got to the dead world in some point and met many great people to accept his passion and look)

He even met y/n the skellignton they become quite good friends talking about their passions/hobbies and like to spooky around too! Y/n give him a free pumpkin patch/farm to grow whatever he likes he finally got his dream come true..

Also he’s kind to others the moment he saw wally corpse puppet he really try to cheer wally up after all..they both die by their beloved person..

Whenever I think of Jack Skellington having a human backstory — a backstory when he was alive — I instantly think of those song lines “A hundred bad days made a hundred good stories, a hundred good stories made me interesting at parties”

And what that means is that Jack had so many ridiculous near-death experiences, and each one taught him something. Something he can now use for his job in scaring. He knows how to instill the worst kinds of fears because he felt them all so many times and even learned to live with it before he finally died.

Now, however, he tries to forget those events. He tries to stop himself from thinking about those times, mostly because he doesn’t want anyone in the town to see him scared even once.

Although… those snowy forests in Christmas Town, the ones away from the village… They look an awful lot like the one he was murdered in…

I've always wondered If Oogie Boogie became the new Pumpkin King back in "The Battle for Pumkin King", what would he do as Halloween's new leader and what would come after it. which is how I got the idea for this AU (There's also the Holiday Wanderer Sally AU i currently have in the works)

Here’s a couple headcanons for a Nightmare Before Christmas Swap AU

•Sally is the pumpkin queen, and always experimenting with the scientist to try to come up with new and exciting ways to scare people

•Sally gets along well with her creator, the scientist, who’s been thinking about making her a mother for when he’s no longer with her

•Jack Skellington usually goes by unnoticed, which is thanks to his unbeatable talent for scaring people, which includes sneaking up on them

•Jack has his scarecrow-on-fire form, but is too nervous about accidentally setting something on fire given how big the flames can be to use it much

•Zero is still with Jack, but Zero seems to be more known around the town while Jack is more of a ghost than the actual ghosts

•Jack’s curiosity got the better of him and he ended up discovering the Circle of Holiday Trees pretty early, but he hasn’t really told anyone about it yet since it never came up

•While in Christmas Town, he made quite the memories meeting the elves and reindeer (they were terrified of him at first, but they eventually got over his spooky appearance when he went around with his “What’s this?!” questions, when they got a glimpse of who he was instead of what)

•Once, when a bonfire wouldn’t light up, Jack promptly changed to his scarecrow form to help

•Sally has run into Jack twice in the graveyard, once when he was playing with Zero via fetch with one of his ribs and the second time, he accidentally scared her

•She complimented him on how well he snuck around and he wasn’t quite sure what to do being given a compliment from the leader of Halloween Town, so he thanked her and said he had to go find Zero

•Oogy is rude to pretty much everyone except Jack, who he fears due to past conflicts
