yes i cannnn ! omigosh im so happy to finally yap about my sweet girl !

during hollow city when they’re staying at mrs wren’s menagerie, connie stays back with claire and fiona, trying to nurse poor claire back to health from the flu she’s suffering from.

BUT D: when the wights show up, it’s literally the one time connie goes to find something, meaning the two girls were left alone. when she comes back to see both girls gone, she starts to scream and cry. she blames herself for claire being kidnapped and taken by the wights that day.

jacob gave connie a promise ring ! omg ! when i tell you connie cherishes this ring? she wears it 25/8. it never comes off. one of the few times they were able to be alone together and things were calm, he pulled it from his pocket to give her it.

it’s small and dainty but jacob has said it ‘fits her personality perfectly.’

connie and enoch are either best friends or hate each other. there is no in between and you never know what version of them you’re going to find yourself stuck with. they are either bickering and fighting or they’re working together. there is absolutely no in between.

if connie was a song/part of a song, hands down, no doubt, she is the guitar solo from the chain by fleetwood mac. i cannot describe it but that part is her.

Listen I know "iPhone face" is in common parlance now, but I think it's worth returning to what the phrase actually means, outside of TikTok trends. It's not that some people have faces that look like they "belong" in the 14th century, it's about how cosmetic procedures often recognizably alter actors' faces to such an extent that their looks are anachronistic.

(Strikingly beautiful people existed in all eras. The Ottoman court of Selim II had its own Zendaya; somewhere within the Aztec empire lived a man as gorgeous as Jacob Anderson, this isn't really about the hotness factor of celebrity.)

As cosmetic procedures become more common, we've gotten good at knowing when someone has had work done. Not because it's obvious, but because the result is a certain Look, particularly among people who live their lives in the public eye. And let's be real, particularly among older women. There's a ton to unpack in that as it touches pay equity and job opportunity and the freedom to do whatever you want with your own body, but that's not really what this post is about either.

I guess this post is about the first images we've gotten of Gladiator II, a movie I'm very excited about.

Has Denzel Washington had work done? Almost certainly. But he's a man, so he hasn't had to have nearly as much done, plus we're not as used to looking for cosmetic procedures in men; as a result, at age sixty-nine, he looks credibly historical in a sword-and-sandals setting.

Women actors, particularly actors of a certain age, aren't always so fortunate. And I'm not talking about botched procedures, or even visible procedures. I'm talking about the sameness of the result, the plumpness and smoothness demanded of older women.

I don't want to include the Vanity Fair photo of the lovely fifty year old Connie Nielsen, also in Gladiator II, because this shouldn't be a conversation about the appearance of a particular woman. But we all know what good filler looks like! And we also know that no women in ancient Rome or Georgian England or medieval France had that look.

There's no real conclusion here, it just bums me out how often I'm watching a historical drama and a sixty year old woman, an actor of presence and skill and experience, has a face that just pushes me right out of the scene. This is no actor's fault, and it doesn't undercut their talent or that of the filmmakers, but it's a damn shame.

Eren Yeager had always been a name whispered in hushed tones across the campus of Paradis University. A former star athlete turned liberal arts major, his reputation preceded him like the roar of a train before it hit the tracks. To some, he was a heartthrob—a wild green-eyed boy who had a knack for saying all the right things and leaving before morning came. To others, he was a cautionary tale of how charm could quickly unravel into heartbreak.

For years, Eren lived up to the rumors. He was the player who’d left more broken hearts in his wake than he cared to count. Mikasa, Sasha, Annie, and even Historia—his name was scribbled in dorm room journals as the boy who didn’t call back. But that was supposed to be behind him now.

“I’m not that guy anymore,” he told Armin, his best friend since middle school, as they walked to their Political Theory lecture.

Armin raised a skeptical brow. “Really? Because you were definitely flirting with Hitch at Connie’s party last weekend.”

Eren groaned, running a hand through his perpetually messy hair. “That wasn’t flirting! I was just being nice.”

“Nice guys don’t touch girls’ lower backs when they’re laughing,” Armin retorted, adjusting his glasses. “You might have rebranded, but your moves haven’t.”

“Okay, fine, maybe I flirted a little,” Eren admitted, shoving his hands in his jacket pockets. “But I’m serious, man. I’m done with that life. I’m not trying to mess with anyone’s head anymore.”

Armin snorted but didn’t argue further. He knew Eren was trying to change, but his past lingered like cigarette smoke, clinging to him no matter how much he tried to air himself out.

That was when you walked into Eren’s life like a slap to his face—and his heart.

It was a regular Thursday evening at The Titan Café, the campus hotspot for overpriced coffee and open mic nights. You had just moved to Paradis University for your final year, transferring from a smaller school upstate. You didn’t know anyone yet, but you liked it that way. Less drama, fewer expectations.

Your plan was simple: grab a latte, find a quiet corner, and dive into your assignment. But as fate would have it, the universe had other plans.

Eren was sitting with Jean and Connie by the window, sipping a black coffee he barely touched. His green eyes were half-lidded in boredom until they landed on you.

You.

A stranger with a presence so magnetic it knocked the breath out of his lungs. You were wearing a simple outfit—nothing overly flashy—but you carried yourself with a confidence that rivaled royalty. You didn’t even notice him at first, too busy scanning the menu board above the counter.

“Earth to Eren,” Jean snapped, snapping his fingers in front of his face. “What are you staring at?”

“Her,” Eren muttered, almost reverently.

Jean and Connie followed his gaze, exchanging knowing smirks when they spotted you.

“She’s new,” Connie said. “Haven’t seen her around before.”

“Which means she probably doesn’t know about your history,” Jean added, grinning. “Perfect opportunity for you to—”

“I’m not playing games,” Eren interrupted firmly, tearing his eyes away from you. “I just… I don’t know, man. There’s something about her.”

“Yeah, sure. There’s something about her,” Jean said, rolling his eyes.

Eren ignored him, his gaze drifting back to you as you paid for your drink and headed to a corner table. He didn’t know what came over him, but the next thing he knew, he was standing up.

“Don’t,” Jean warned, though his tone was more amused than serious.

“I’m just saying hi,” Eren shot back, heading in your direction.

You looked up from your laptop as a shadow fell over your table. A tall, broad-shouldered guy with piercing green eyes and messy brown hair was standing there, wearing a hesitant smile.

“Hey,” he said, his voice warm and smooth.

You blinked, taken aback by his sudden appearance. “Uh, hi?”

“I couldn’t help but notice you’re new around here,” he continued, rubbing the back of his neck. “Mind if I sit?”

You hesitated. You’d heard whispers about Eren Yeager in the hallways and during lectures. Even in the short time you’d been here, his name had come up more than once, always paired with the same warning: Don’t fall for it. He doesn’t mean it.

“I’m good, thanks,” you said politely but firmly.

Eren’s smile faltered for a split second, but he recovered quickly. “Fair enough. I’m Eren, by the way.”

You didn’t offer your name, but he didn’t seem deterred.

“Well,” he said, stepping back slightly, “if you ever want a tour of the campus or anything, let me know. I’m usually around.”

“Thanks,” you replied, your tone neutral.

Eren nodded and walked back to his friends, who immediately burst into laughter.

“Struck out, huh?” Jean teased as Eren sat down.

“She’s different,” Eren muttered, staring at his untouched coffee.

“Yeah, different in the sense that she’s not falling for your crap,” Connie said, grinning.

Eren didn’t respond. For the first time in a long time, he found himself genuinely intrigued by someone—not because he wanted to chase them, but because he wanted to know them.

Over the next few weeks, Eren kept finding excuses to run into you. At the library, in the dining hall, at campus events—you name it. He wasn’t pushy or overbearing, but his presence was impossible to ignore.

“Why do you keep talking to me?” you finally asked one evening after he’d “coincidentally” bumped into you at the gym.

Eren shrugged, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “I like talking to you.”

“You don’t even know me.”

“Then let me change that.”

You sighed, crossing your arms. “Look, I’ve heard about you, Eren. About how you’re always chasing girls and then dropping them when you get bored. I’m not interested in being another name on your list.”

Eren winced, guilt flashing in his eyes. “I deserve that,” he admitted. “But I swear, I’m not that guy anymore.”

“Right,” you said skeptically, grabbing your water bottle and heading for the exit.

As he handed you a dollar bill, his fingers brushed yours briefly, sending a jolt of electricity up your arm. Eren seemed to feel it too, his green eyes meeting yours with an intensity that made your breath hitch.

“Thanks,” he said softly, taking his cookie and walking away.

For the first time, you found yourself wondering if maybe, just maybe, there was more to him than the rumors.

From that day on, Eren’s approach changed. He stopped trying to “bump into you” and instead focused on simply being around—whether it was joining study groups, showing up to support events you were involved in, or even just saying a casual hello when he passed you on campus.

Little by little, your walls began to crumble. You saw a different side of him—the side that made Armin laugh until he cried, that helped Connie with his homework, that stayed up late planning surprise parties for his friends.

One evening, after a particularly long day, you found yourself texting him.

I was thinking.

That moment where Cora sees Sybil baking the cake and cries happy tears? What if TeTe has a moment like that with Connie? Not with baking a cake or even with Connie hiding a surprise, but maybe she just... sees Connie from around a corner or through a window interacting with the girls, laughing, having fun, smiling in a way TeTe hasn't seen in decades or maybe ever. And TeTe can't help but smile and tear up. Because her daughter has finally found her happiness, her sisters, and herself.

Oh, this is so sweet. And so, so verry fitting for them.

So...forgive me, I got carried away with this (lmao), because I think context is gonna make this moment even more powerful. TeTe doesn't shed tears, but in that moment, her eyes water ... that that does not just happen willy-nilly. It's the culmination of a lot of smaller thoughts and impressions.

I imagine TeTe catches a glimpse while visiting the cottage on one occasion. Not the first, but down the line.

TeTe, at first, is obviously very concerned about her daughter. Connie fled to London with no word of her safety and without touching her and Orin's joint bank account, meaning she all but vanishes from TeTe's life. This is after TeTe has lost Arthur and after almost losing Connie to her leg inquiries and su*c*de. Losing Connie would break her. Shatter her beyond repair, actually.

Upon arriving, she's pleasantly surprised. The ladies of the cottage are lovely. Kind. Sweet. She only sees glimpses of their lives together, but it seems pleasant. TeTe is wary, all the same. Connie was a lonely little girl. Now, suddenly when she's at an extremely vulnerable point on her life, she has a whole support network? You can understand TeTe's apprehension. It's nothing against the girls, or any of the Pack members. She doesn't want the light of her life to flicker out.

So, a few impressions:

Pippersnipe is darling. A good landlord? "Don't let go of that unicorn, ladies."

Bob also seems kind. (TeTe, by nature of this whole scenario, is a little extra critical of men). He's Connie's direct supervisor, but Connie has nothing but positive words about his mentorship. Ethel is a riot (they need to have drinks) and the children are angels. She especially loves Tim's singing. ("Studio 54 has a children's benefit. If you ever want to come to Manhattan, the stage would welcome you.")

Tom, a toymaker? Impressive! She works with children, after all, and knows that equal parts art and science both go into crafting and providing good toys that foster children's development. Tom gets immediate respect, which he miiight brag about to the other gents. ("I thought she was going to give me a gold star! Like in school.")

Jacob is handsome, she'll give him that. She sees how he parents Maisie, and that seals a lot of good feelings. A girl that smiley and excited about life and learning must has a nurturing Papa, even if TeTe thinks he could use a bit of a haircut and some good hand cream. ^^;

FeFe. FeFe is muuuch more traditional than TeTe. They come from different worlds when it comes to how women live and rule. However, TeTe must respect Felicity for her honesty, intelligence, and that she treats Addie and Bess with the dignity they deserve. And I imagine FeFe would respect TeTe for her work with children. They deeply disagree over tea vs. coffee. TeTe choking down English breakfast while FeFe sips espresso with a lemon-pucker lip-lock?

Wolf. So, Bess knows him. And she's the daughter of Marley? TeTe knows Marley's name...and his handiwork. Bess cannot control her parents (but she does have an impressive lineage) but Wolf can control his work relationships. Bess seems like a very sweet woman (and is Connie's soul-sister, so TeTe will fall on a sword for her). Even if they aren't a couple when she arrives, the writing is on the wall. "If I catch one word of ill-will toward Bess, dear sir, I'll be forced to act accordingly. And I do so dislike acting accordingly. It no fun for anybody."

Adonis. If the other men are carefully scrutinized, he's on her autopsy table by comparison. She does not love that Connie is already interested in another man, and that this man is also her employer? That doesn't impress her immediately, especially since the 'Scrooge' name carries a sour reputation. News the the Twins changed nature may be commonplace in London, but beyond it, there is still work to be done. This man could be using her, she thinks. How can she already trust him? She accepts the relationship, but with extreme caution. There is no blessing; not yet.

Fun Fact: It's only when Adonis sends a bouquet of flowers to both TeTe and Arthur's gave on their wedding anniversary that she is truly certain. Plus, it's while Connie is visiting and she's equally surprised, so she know it was him and not her. Orin definitely poisoned the well, but in that moment, she finally trusts that he's truly good.

Then we have the cottage girls.

Addie is sweet, and a fellow career woman in journalism. The field is cutthroat, but TeTe can see from her writing that Addie works to be non-bias without being dishonest. A non-bias story about a convicted and shamelessly vocal creep is not necessary, haha.

Gal is a reliable port in any storm, and a wicked good cook. Plus, seeing how tenderly she treats Maisie and has adopted her as a daughter ... that definitely tugs are her heart strings.

Bess is a woman that TeTe can already see possesses wisdom and talent beyond her years. She's a L&D nurse - a field that that been under fire for centuries (most witches burned across the globe were labor/delivery specialists using 'magic', after all). It's a profession that demands powerful, educated, empathetic women ... and to TeTe, Bess fits the bill. It can me the most rewarding, yet also thankless, job. She works hard to bring families together, then at the end of the day, they always leave. She also feels a protective instinct over her after learning more of her backstory.

Bess and Connie seem like kindred spirits, she thinks - two beautiful, talented and kind women searching for like company to bolster each other.

So, ALL THAT being said...

Philanthropist and midtown-Manhattan icon Theresea DoGoode stepped out of the passenger side door of the rental she'd called for herself. While the cottage was by no means in an unwalkable area of London, it was not a decent walk from the nearest airport. Plus, for a woman of her age (not to mention the height and expense of her heels), the fare for a care was a far better deal than trudging across cobblestones with her Rimowa carry-on.

"I know tipping not the norm up here," she started as she turned and extended a bill to the driver, "But I believe there's something wrong with the real axel of your car. I noticed it after we hit that ghastly pothole exiting the freeway. If you were a cab company, I wouldn't worry, but I suspect you'll have to foot the bill for your own car. This should at least cover a good inspection."

After only a small argument, the man gratefully accepted the millionaire's money. After all, he knew she was right. He'd felt the rattle, too. The repairs would put him out of rideshare work for a few days, but with her 'tip', he could make it through.

"Thank you kindly, Mrs. DoGoode! Y-You really don't have to do that."

"Yes, I do," she said, picking up her luggage with a gloved hand. "And I take great joy in it."

As the driver slowly rattled away down the street, Theresea strutted up to the smattering of lovely English cottages. By now, she knew her way to her destination by heart. It was her third time visiting the house, and as such, it was starting to finally feel like a little home.

1843D was nestled back a bit, which allowed its inhabitants to have a little privacy in addition to an incredibly thriving and lush garden. Although it was early spring, she also spied a delicate train of smoke from the chimney. It was an usually homey sight for a woman used to sleek marble facades and potted palms.

As she stepped up to the door, Theresea saw the curtains for the front window were pulled aside. With just a cursory glance inside, she saw all four housemates gathered in the foyer. They appeared to be setting out various tapas for the arrival of their guest.

How truly sweet of them, Theresea thought genuinely. The woman was not used to being taken care of in such a way. She'd been fully prepared to pay for any and all meals and expenses, but they had beaten her to it.

Before raising her hand to knock, she took a few extra seconds to absorb the sight before her. Firstly, she noticed her daughter. Constance, looking more radiant and happy than she'd seen in many years, was brandishing a nondescript bottle of champagne. With her socialite flair, she arched her back and perfectly dipped down to pour the bubbly liquid into a crystal coupe glass. All the ladies watched in bated breath as the bubbles precariously crept right up to the rim, then stopped at the very last second before they could dribble over the sides. Gall pumped a fist while Addie clapped. Bess also cheered and said, "You've got to teach me that!"

"Aye, much more useful dat dat trick when ye tie a cherry stem in yer mouth," Gal said while lounging. "It always gets stuck, the squiffy thing."

"Oh, I can actually do that," Addie chimed in.

"What?" Bess guffawed, the other ladies equally impressed. "You can? How did I not know that?"

"Well, it doesn't come up often. Or, ever."

"We have cherries in the fridge," Connie said, a cheeky grin splitting her face. "No pits."

"Aye, the best! I'll fetch 'em."

As Gal went to grab the fruit, Addie laughed and poked strands of her her brown hair behind her ears. "Well, I suppose so. Oh, but your mother won't mind, will she?"

"My Mama actually also know how to do it," Connie said with a smile. "She's a whiz at it, too."

"Why am I not shocked?" Bess asked playfully, giving her soul-sister a teasing glance as she slung an arm across her shoulders. Connie laughed and moved in, hugging her waist in return.

As the girls laughed and chatted, Theresea felt herself blinking back tears. Thankful, elated tears.

One never knew how friends, families, or lovers truly acted behind closed doors. The shelter of a home could shield a family from the elements in the same way it could shield prying eyes.

Yet, in that moment, Theresea got to glimpse past the curtain and see her greatest hopes realized. She saw, without script and ceremony, that her daughter had truly found companionship. Happiness.

The woman raised a gloved hand to dab away the mascara that threatened to been on her lashes. While she did hold back her tears successfully, she was powerless against the wide grin she felt bubbling forth.

She made sure her tears were fully blotted before raising her hand again to knock on the heavy oak door.

Almost immediately, a flurry of excited voices greeted her. When the door opened, eager arms pulled her close for hugs. Her luggage was taken, and she was guided inside.

"Mama, come in and sit down," Constance said eagerly. "Your timing is perfect. I just poured champagne,."

Right then, as Theresea stepped across the threshold, she finally saw the little house in London as a home.

Basic family head canons for Toby

Warning for abuse mentions and death.

Let's start with the basics. Toby is a deranged boy with lots of mental health issues, ranging from Tourette's Syndrome to simple psychosis. This causes lots of tragic incidents to occur throughout his life.

In the earlier years of his life, it was pretty good. He acquired a stuffed cow and named it 'Mr Cowbells' why? Because he was literally 7.

His family was good to him throughout those years but as he started getting older they started to lack financial support and began to grow poor.

They moved from a decent house to a smaller, older one just to keep themselves safe and well fed. Though as Years went on the family's relationships declined at the speed of light.

Members of the family went by the names of.

Connie Rogers- Mother

Jacob Rogers- Father

Lyra Rogers- Sister

Tobias Rogers- Brother

Connie is more of a passive aggressive type of person. She would let people walk all over her but when it came to certain people, she would be in authority, being the bigger person. She didn't like crowds or was much of a social butterfly.

She stayed at home 24/7 and did house work, being a stay at home mom.

Both of her kids were at grade school while she made sure the house was clean and dinner was made when her husband came home. She was 36 and had fair but more pale side colored skin. Her hair was cut short into a bob and was colored dark brown, almost looking black. Same goes for her eyes.

She constantly had bags under her eyes and blemishes like moles and freckles covered her face.

Lyra Was the daughter. She was more of the 'goofy' type. Always planning things to keep herself and her brother entertained. Growing up poor meant a rather boring childhood so she made sure to make the best of it for herself and her little brother. She had pale skin but kept it healthy by trying to go outside more but it never worked. Her hair was almost always put up (being braids, pony tails, buns,) and was a light blonde. Her eyes were a dark chocolate brown like her mother's. She was currently 21 when the accident occurred. Leaving her brother alone.

Jacob Was the father. He spent most of his time at work trying to provide for the family until money became a problem. He started drinking and gambling for money, becoming more aggressive by day.

Eventually the family feared him, and he became physically ab*sive to the three.

It was mostly Toby who he treated like garbage. The kids would usually always stick up for their mom though, the main one being Toby.

The man was 40 at the time, going months without shaving and barely put any effort into his hygiene. This got him fired a year later, him now diving deeper into the addictions to rid him of his struggles but only add into the ab*se the rest of the family was enduring.

He had hazel eyes and shared the same hair color as his daughter, a light blondish color. It was more buzzed up along the sides and longer and spiky at the top.(who told him that was a good haircut.)

However, the son, Toby, was an oddball, obviously. Being sadly cursed with multiple disorders that limited him from doing lots of things.

One of those things being public school.

Bullying was a huge issue and he could almost never escape it, even when home.

They took him out of the school system when he was just 15 and started 'homeschooling' him.

When i say 'homeschooling' i mean very poorly teaching him from a book, and it would mainly be Lyra doing it. (who was also still in public school,) so she wasn't home most of the time.

The brunette's mental state started declining fast. With hallucinations and the constant physical and mental ab*se, his mind wasn't going in good places.

With much stress came with many de-stressors. He started to brutally chew on his hands and tongue, whatever he could.

He chewed the absolute hell out of jacket/hoodie strings to the point where they were shredded or straight up being digested.

His mom caught onto these problems and started taking the strings from his jackets and bandaging his hands tight.

They'd grow raw and itchy under the bandages. He was leaving horrible scars on them and would not let his nails grow past the point where the white part of the nail actually shows.

His sister was really the only one there for him. His mom was too but she had housework or was asleep, too exhausted from cleaning or fighting with her husband.

He always didn't want to bother her either so he always went to the blonde girl if he ever needed any help or just plain company.

They had a fantastic relationship, and were as close as any sibling would be.

When she was getting older she was beginning to drive. Therefore taking him places like the mall, to fast food places. She'd steal their dad's money when he passed out and would blow it on very useless things like.

A 20lb bag of jellybeans. Yes, jellybeans.

They were total crackheads together but of course this wasn't the case all of the time.

With Toby suffering from bad tics and schizophrenia he had to take medication for it, and would usually refuse because he thought it made it worse..

So Lyra was more like an older sibling and a mom. He started eating less and vomiting the older he got. The hallucinations got horrible.

He'd see weird shit like giant bugs on the walls, sharks, other fish in the air or bathtub/sink when he does the dishes, he'd hear things like giggling, screaming, whispers, ect.

Only when he hit age 17 was when he started hearing actual sentences in his mind that sounded like his own voice just more demented.

A creature started appearing in his dreams, waking him up, giving him bad insomnia.

The ab*se didn't stop either.

He grew more aggressive, growing up in the same type of household, raises you to be the same type of person.

He started to fight his dad a lot, usually not ending well.

Either he'd get glass thrown at him, or he'd get beaten up/kicked out in front of the family.

He'd spend nights sleeping in the car with his sister because of how loud the yelling got.

Eventually something horrible had to happen right. So remember that creature he saw in his dreams? He started seeing it in real life too, standing in the street, at his window, in his hallway/room.

Even standing behind him in mirrors. It started to drive him insane.

He was taken to therapy multiple times but nothing ever stopped it. He started to feel like everyone was out to get him.

He started doing what he loved less, going out with his sister, well that was the only thing he liked doing

He never went outside, making Toby grow paler and more unhealthy. He was extremely underweight and malnourished that it started to stunt his growth. Well it had been a problem anyways.

It was obvious that if he still went to school he'd be picked on badly for it all.

Not like he already was in the first place.

His mom grew distant and of course, the 'man of the house' grew to despise his own children, completely neglecting them.

Now it was just him and Lyra.

Toby had ended up running away one night after a bad fight with his father. It had been weeks since his family heard from or saw him. Lyra knew she had to take this situation into her own hands as her mother was too distraught to even try. She eventually found him and began to drive him back home after a swift argument that lasted about half the car ride before something uncanny and paranormal began to occur.

Lyra was driving and Toby was in the passenger seat.

The traffic was heavy and sensory overload is a thing. The car was speeding and the cars were honking.

Everything started to feel less real, and then and there, that creature appeared, tall and thin, right in the middle of the highway. Of course he was the only one to see it.

He freaked out in his seat, also freaking Lyra out, causing her to steer sharply and ended up flipping the car.

This killed her instantly

Though he was still conscious, barely hanging onto it that is.

He escaped with a torn up arm and a broken rib or two. Though he survived.

He did catch a glimpse of the mangled face of his sister the second before he passed out.

The image haunted him for months on end, and now the only person he really had was gone.

Starting to spiral out of control completely. He'd chew on anything, start growling at people, showing signs of obvious grief and agony.

Those months in solitude was nothing but utter torture to him.

It was all thanks to that thing, that stupid creature. He referred to it as the 'slim man'

It was tall, had no face, it seemed to be wearing a suit but it would also morph itself so every time it would be different.

It drove him to insanity.

Homicidal thoughts were no stranger to his mind either. He'd constantly think about harming himself or others, but one person always came first to mind when he did think these things.

His own father of course.

The man was completely gone, an alcoholic, an ab*ser.

He was far too clever to know this man wasn't showing him tough love, but beating it out of him.

Being home alone with the man was all it took for him to finally snap.

The whispers and giggles would clog up his mind, making him black out mentally and falling into the control of his own anger.

He landed 39 stab wounds right into the man's chest, leaving a bloody mess everywhere in the living room of their house.

It was only then did his mom come home, hand full of groceries to realize the bloody mess of the blood of her husband and seeing that her son was the cause behind it, still sitting over the mutilated man with malicious intent in his eyes.

Though the scream she shredded pierced his ears like an air horn, he scurried to the door where he darted through the garage, grabbing a few things on his way, being two hatchets..

One was newer yet the other was rusted and the color was fading.

He had also grabbed the basic necessities to start a fire.

Gasoline and matches.

Though sure, lighting the entire neighborhood on fire was a way of escaping what he just did, but surely not the smartest.

He ended up trapping himself in this mess he caused. Soon there was nothing but flaring flames around him. He knew then and there he was going to die.

Right when he blacked out, wanting to accept his fate, to finally get a break from the pathetic life. A pool of static engulfed him, and he woke up somewhere deep within the forest with absolutely no recollection of what happened or how he got there.

Everyone thinks he's dead.

And if you had to associate said characters with a Twilight counterpart, who would they be?

In no particular order, here's my take on it:

Reiner would be team Edward, simply because the show told him to. Why bother with theoretical ships when BellaxEdward is cannon

Pieck would also be on team Edward- all the pining and anticipation won her over

Jean would act all cool and pretend he doesn't care about it at all, but deep down he's an Edward defender through and through

Connie and Sasha are on team Jacob, because werewolf (and also there's something comforting in the childhood friend turned lover. But mainly because they're into werewolves)

I think Bert will also be on team Jacob, because he can empathize with the guy and his unrequited feelings

Hitch is team Edward because of the vampire aesthetic and nothing more

As I've said in earlier posts, Armin is a fierce Jacob defender, whereas Mikasa is a convinced team Edward, and neither of them is shy to show it. It gets to the point where they'd make entire PowerPoint presentations and have whole debates over who was the better choice. They'd defend their ships like their lives depended on it, writing analyses and character meta and all that jazz. Meanwhile, Eren and Annie are sharing a bag of popcorn and enjoying the show. Mikasa and Armin would ask them to be the judges and settle this once and for all. Annie, in true Annie manner, refuses to get involved, and Eren says something vague, like "What's really important are the friends we've made along the way, the lessons we've learned" et al. The two would stare him down for a whole minute, with Annie breaking down laughing in the background, then pick it up where they'd left off.

Oh, also, I think Gabi takes after Armin, in the sense that she takes this debate very seriously and would defend Jacob with all her might. Falco, Zofia and Udo are a bit concerned for their friend

And as for their counterparts, I think the Warriors as the Volutri would be an interesting concept. Zeke would be their leader, so the counterpart of Aro, and would have his abilities- tactile telepathy, the ability to read people's minds by touching them. He founded the coven and made it his goal to recruit the most talented young people and turn them into vampires. The first person he recruited was Pieck, which would be the counterpart of Renata, her ability being aversion field- she can deflect all kinds of physical assault and shield herself and those in her immediate proximity. Then came the Galliard brothers, who have the ability to track people by the essence of their mind alone, except Marco is more skilled than his brother and Porco is constantly trying to overtake him and prove that he is 'the better brother'. Then Bert would be the ability detector, much like Eleazar is in the saga. Lastly, I like the thought of Reiner and Annie as Alec and Jane- Reiner would have the ability to cut off a person's senses, and Annie would inflict illusory pain on people. It would go well with their physical strengths, and could potentially make them siblings, which would be so fun to explore.

Then, the Scouts would be like the Cullens- a found family made up of strays. It originally consisted of just Erwin, Hange and Levi, a little group of vampires who were trying to blend in with humans. They'd move around every like 20-30 years so as to not attract much attention over the fact that they weren't aging, and take on basic human occupations- Levi would usually sign up as a janitor, whereas Hange would find all kinds of odd teaching jobs, and Erwin would change career paths (first he was a doctor, then a lawyer, and then he was a school principal when the three of them met the kids). Then they met the kids- Eren, Mikasa and Armin, three orphans on the run from a bunch of murderers. When turned, Eren would probably inherit Edward's telepathic abilities, Mikasa would have Alice's ability to predict the future based on one's current convictions, and Armin would have Jasper's ability to sense and manipulate one's feelings.

Lastly, Sasha, Jean and Connie would be werewolves. They strayed away from their pack and got left behind during a general migration, and were ultimately 'adopted' by the scouts.

Now, this whole ordeal leads to a lot of questions- how would the characters' relations develop? Where would the conflict lay, given there's no human to kick it off? How would the Volturi and the Scouts interact if the main conflict point of the saga (the Cullens bending the rules by taking a human in) is taken away? These would for sure be very interesting to explore, too.
