I really need a Jake Seresin who is just a dick for the sake of it. No traumatic back story, no terrible family, no hidden insecurities, just Jake being a fucking asshole because that’s just how he is. Jake being cocky and mean and blunt with no fucking reasoning behind it. Give him a loving family and an easy upbringing and make him the best god damn pilot there is and still let him be a jerk.

I don’t see this a whole lot and I feel like it’s missing from my life. Like yeah you could give him a redemption and change of heart after The Mission™️, or you could just let him continue being the worst. I fully believe he could fit into the dagger squad dynamic perfectly and still be himself. Like these guys can give as good as they get, and they know that hangman loves them but they also know that’s just The Way He Is.

Because he could also be kind, you don’t have to be a nice person to be a good person. Jake doing favors for his friends without being asked, seeing someone struggling and silently helping. Jake standing up for his squad in all kinds of ways, Jake being a dick one minute and then checking up on them the next.

Give me a Jake who brings Natasha lunch when he knows she hasn’t ate all day and then teases her about needing a babysitter.

Give me a Jake who makes fun of Bradley’s clothes but when he noticed one of his shirts has a hole, sews it up without Bradley knowing.

Give me a Jake who makes sures Callie and Natasha’s drinks are safe when they go to an off base bar. Give me a Jake who will destroy a man with only his words when they get too close to the girls.

Give me a Jake who will make fun of Bob and Fanboy but as soon as someone else does he refocuses his energy on them, but this time he really means it.

Give me a Jake who is mean and cocky but also cares about his squad so fucking much.

those who HATE Jacob Black but think Edward Can Do No Wrong despite reading Midnight Sun. it’s just downright HILARIOUS & honestly racist.

so Jacob is hated after he turns into a wolf bc of his bitter & sarcastic attitude towards the vampires. how do ppl not understand that is a teenage boy who just went through a TRAUMATIC transformation & the girl he loves is back with his natural born enemy. He is wired to hate edward bc of the DEVASTATING shit the vampires did to their people. Did y’all read the chapter Legends in eclipse or…. I’ve seen so many people say they “skipped the wolf chapters cause they were boring.” Honestly was a miracle that ALL he was was nasty sometimes. why tf should he be a kiss ass to the vampires???? Also… the cullens Literally forced this werewolf life upon him just by their mere proximity. Billy asked them to not come back but they’re selfish and didn’t give a fuck. Mfers could live underwater, why must they live THERE

Despite my opinion on THAT, no, Jake is not perfect & I will never say he is. none of that excuses him kissing bella like that. I think what repressed mormon was trying to portray was how desperate he was since it was a life or death situation but it was done completely wrong & Jacob fucked up. I totally get this made ppl upset at this point in the series bc yeah it was NOT OKAY!

BUT to HATE jacob and give edward a pass???? WHAT!!!! Still!! In 2022? Lmaoo if you read midnight sun & read about edwards obsessive desire to kill bella, stalking & overall creepy ass thoughts towards her & excuse it or think he’s the good one then that’s an issue. Calling bella a child, prey etc. I mean she is literally 17 & no, he is not 17. She’s basically forced into marriage too but she goes along with it. He’s had DECADES to mature. I also think smeyer didn’t even realize how creepy it was either bc again Repressed Mormon™️ & her saying he is still mentally 17 bc they are frozen. If you can’t see that at all & Jacob is irredeemable… there’s a disconnect here.

Think about it. Why do you excuse the perfect, sparkly, rich WHITE vampire? His behavior & obsession is downright disturbing sometimes. Why is this totally disregarded? Why is he seen as the “feminist king” or whatever lol. Yet Jacob is immediately cancelled & hated. Even if you don’t like Jacob, you should still be able to see the wrong in Edward.

I love Jacob & I like Edward .. at times. He has his moments, I get it. But none of those moments overshadows the nature of the situation. I see the good & bad in both of them. I personally think edward is WORSE lol but I digress. I have felt this way since I first read them. I truly thought my opinions would have changed rereading them as an adult due to all the Jacob hate + edward PRAISE on tiktok/IG. But it honestly cemented it in even moreso for me ESPECIALLY reading midnight sun.

It’s important to call out the problematic behavior in characters. But you ALSO have to recognize the problematic behavior in your favorite characters..

Amy being a Cliche Mainer™️/Miscellaneous headcanons

•Knows how to play the whole Mallett Brothers album “The Falling Of The Pine” on bass guitar.

•Knows how to Fire a Shotgun™️ and Shoot a Bow™️ and has her drivers license, though she doesn’t fully divulge how she got it.

•When Jake was teaching Nog how to read, she suggested Treasure Island and they ended up reading it and watching Treasure Planet(Nog and Amy both cried at Silvers speech to Jim)

•In addition to the above, while Jake is teaching Nog to read, she secretly takes up learning to read and speak in Ferengi and even ends up becoming fluent in the language. She’s also made a few head-skirts like the ones Nog often wears (some, if not most, of which are made as gifts)

•She sings when she’s drawing and alone. Just slaps some headphones on and drowns everything out with music and focuses on the task as hand (Favorite song is a cover of Beyond Antares by Lt. Nyota Uhura) and the boys have walked in on her doing this on more than once.

•Since she did ballet and gymnastics when she was young, she’s very flexible and will freak the boys out by dislocating and bringing her arms up in front of her when her hands are cuffed or tied behind her

•Queen of “You asked about it and you gotta live with the facts” whenever Nog asks her something about human women. Has traumatized him on more than one occasion.

•her canine teeth are the antithesis of that of the average human (though she’s lucky that it’s just a weird quirk with her teeth and not something that needs medical intervention) and she has had them compared to “messed up vampire fangs” and Ferengi teeth. It’s caused her a lot of insecurity around her smile, making her take conscious action to keep them hidden whenever she talks or smiles so as to prevent any further belittlement.

•on a lighter note, her father owns a bakery on the station. So sometimes she and the boys will bop in for a visit and maybe help with some of the bread making. Which always somehow ends up the three walking out covered in flour. Though they do get free snacks.

•Her second favorite Art medium to pens/pencils is ceramic/clay art.

•Her least favorite art medium is anything to do with crayons. Oil pastels get a pass but she despises using crayons. The oiliness makes her feel like her skeleton is trying to hatch from her body like a bloody butterfly.

•Favorite superhero is Batman.

•loves learning about pop culture and art.

•has a few projectors that play images of universes and nebulas. Nog just thinks it’s some sort of nightlight and accuses her of being scared of the dark until she turns the lights off (to which he is made to eat his words on the aforementioned accusations) and puts one on of a violet nebula.

•and to top it all off, she was born the day before Halloween, though she and her dad always celebrate on the holiday.
