Altho Dean was cute as all get out on Gilmore Girls and I loved Cordy Walker so damn much that I’m still mourning his absence in my life, my heart will always belong to Sam Winchester.

The boy who was destined to be evil and instead of doing the easy thing and giving in told destiny to fuck off and instead became a big damn hero. Jared portaged all of Sam’s many layers perfectly—his guilt he carried with him like an anchor, his love and devotion for his brother and soulmate, his loyalty, his stubbornness, his willingness to give up his life not only for the people he loved but for total strangers as well, his nerdiness, his PTSD ( every time Sam flinched so did I), his ability to stand tall and roar and his ability to be small and vulnerable. I am a Sam girl and a damn proud one.

Thank you Jared for being the heart and soul of Sam Fucking Winchester.

Can I just say I'm still in love with his style from the Rogue photo shoot? The way they styled him and positioned him. I adore the photographer for this masterpiece.

In general, I love his hair being a bit messy and all over the place. I'm happy we get Mountain Man Jared back! Even though, I also love man bun Jared. :D

I don't think that every photo shoot was able to capture him this beautifully, so thank you Benjo Arwas for the photos and Mariah Buian for the perfect hair. ♥

It was such a small thing–relatively speaking. The place he planned to visit was closed. On another day, he may have been able to swallow back the disappointment, chide himself for not checking beforehand, and decide to explore the city instead.

But this was not one of those days. This was another kind of day entirely. He had been watching the darkness creep closer to him for days-months-years, watching it warily, resignedly, as it slid closer and closer. And on this day, it swallowed him whole. Sitting in a country not his home, surrounded by strangers, Jared wondered if this was the day the darkness would win.

But somewhere, deep inside of him where the darkness was lurking but had not dared enter, he found the strength to reach out for a hand to grab–and instead he found many. Those many hands gave him the strength to make it home, to get the help he needed, to find a way to let the darkness know that it will never consume him.

And then he found the strength to stand up and tell others of his mental health struggles and to relay a message of hope–Always Keep Fighting. That no matter what our struggles, we are not alone. That there is light and hope and hands reaching for us in the darkness.

AKF has meant so much to me as it has to so many others. It is the candle that always burns, the hope that stubbornly clings to us, the promise that if we just keep the darkness at bay one more day–or hour–or minute-or even breath–that the light will find us.

Jared–I don’t have the words to thank you for speaking out, for allowing us to be a part of your journey, and for being a part of ours.

May the candles always be lit.
