Here’s the rest of my birthday presents! 🎁 my Tux plush has just arrived and is a bit smaller than I thought he would be but he isn’t tiny as I compared him to my official Digital Circus plushies but he’s the same height as my original official Jax plush in a sitting position. Also got an extra large Jax plush witch I named JackRabbit even though he’s a rabbit because I love him sooo much and I think he’s cuuute!!! 🥰 Yes I’m still a Bunnydoll shipper but I’m also a huge Jax simp!!! ❤️🥰🐰💘 and I got a couple of chocolates as well from my 2 boyfriends who are now plushes known as Rizz and Tux and it was all thanks to the help of my mum. I’m so lucky to have a mum that treats me well! 😊 cause I’m kind of mentally ill so it kind of gives me a better life and a big art book for me to do some drawings in. I also have some extra pencils but I don’t have a photo of those right now and I also got an extra large Pomni plush witch I named Pinny because it’s kind of like a name based on Pomnis pinwheel eyes.

PS: my Tux the rabbit plushie may have some ears that kind of flop around a bit witch I was suspecting to stay erect but they’re still pointy either way.

Caine (in a doctors outfit): Worry not pomni! As soon as i figure out what horrible illness is plaguing you i will not rest until you are cured!

Pomni: Caine for the 17th time it is litterally a minor cold.

Caine: I WILL CURE THIS ILLNESS FOR MY AMAZING WIFE OR DIE TRYING!

Pomni wasn't feeling one hundred percent. Still well enough to stand with the others and listen to Caine prattle on about the day's adventure, but she wanted to go back to bed. Her eyelids felt heavy and, despite not having a nose, felt the need to sniff mucus back every few minutes. She took a long sniff, loudly announcing to the room that she wasn't feeling her best.

Caine stopped talking almost immediately. "Pomni? What was that?"

"Huh? Oh, it's nothing. Keep talking. I didn't mean to interrupt."

"Oh my goodness gracious gravy. You're sick!" He zips to her and sweeps her off her feet. "Not to worry, my dear, I'll have you feeling better in a jiffy!"

"Wha- Caine!" She holds onto him for balance as he zooms off.

The other circus members watch Caine fly away. "So...we adventuring today or not?" Jax asks, looking at Bubble.

"How should I know? I'm a bubble." Bubble spun around in the air without a care in the world.

Pomni plopped down on an examination table. Bright florescent lights illuminated a doctor's office space. With a flourish, Caine's tux turned into a white doctor's coat and his cane turned into a clipboard.

"Caine, I'm fine. It's just a cold."

"It is most definitely not fine!" Caine rests his fist against his hip. "You are my wife. As your husband, it is my solemn duty to help you in any way I can."

"I appreciate that, but-"

"I will find a cure for this illness OR DIE TRYING!" Caine clicked his feet together at attention.

"Caine, please-"

"Now, now, just relax." Caine pushed her back to have her lay down on the examination table. "Leave everything to me. First, I should check your blood pressure. Since you have no blood in the digital realm, I'll have to improvise."

He strapped a bottle of ketchup to her arm and then wrapped the cuff of the sphygmomanometer around both. He squeezed the bulb to inflate the cuff until the bottle of ketchup burst. "Hmm, seems a little low." He tapped the ketchup covered gauge.

Pomni wiped ketchup off her face. "It's just a cold, Caine." She deadpanned.

"Now, to check your ears- wait, I forgot you don't have any. Uh, I suppose I could check your reflexes." A giant cartoon mallet appeared in his hand.

"Ah!" Pomni rolled off the table before the mallet came down. "It's just a cold!"

"Pomni, I need your full cooperation if you want to get better." He tossed the mallet away, a cartoon crash along with a cat's yowl sounded. "Oh! How could I forget, I need to check your throat! Say ah!"

"What? Mmph!!" Pomni nearly gagged when Caine shoved one of his eyes into her mouth.

Caine held his hand over her mouth for a few seconds before letting her spit out his eye. It bounced off the floor, to the wall and back in place through the back of his mouth. "I didn't see any fuzzy purple spots. This is most troubling. You're supposed to have at least three per corner."

"Caine, STOP! It's JUST a COLD!!"

Caine flinched at her shouting. He shrank down to the ground, tapping his fingers together nervously. "I'm...doing too much again, aren't I?"

Pomni sighed. "No, you're not doing too much. You're working yourself into a tizzy and not listening to me. Your anxiety deafens you to the point that I have to shout. I don't like doing that." She rubs her arm, looking away.

"I just-....I worry."

"I know you do, but even when you worry about someone, please listen to what they have to say."

Caine hung his head. "I'm sorry..."

Pomni put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "It's okay. You're okay. I'm not mad. I'm glad you care so much in your own unique way. If it helps, I'll let you play doctor a little longer, but I assure you, it's just a cold. I'll be fine in a few days."

"Okay." Caine held up his stethoscope. "Can I listen to your heartbeat?"

Pomni hopped up on the table. "Of course." She sat still for him as he gently pressed the chestpiece against her.

Caine heard only a quiet buzz of static. Normal for a digital avatar. He went to pull away when Pomni held his hand to her chest.

"Ba-bum...ba-bum..." Pomni repeated rhythmically.

"What are you doing?" Caine arched his top teeth quizzically.

"It's what a human heart sounds like. I'm just playing along." Pomni smiled.

Caine smiled back, holding the chestpiece in place a little longer to hear Pomni mimic the steady beat of a real human heart. "Sounds healthy."

"It is. It gets a lot of exercise when I see the most handsome AI in the whole world."

Caine blushed and giggled. "Stahp, I bet you say that to every AI."

"Nah, just the one I married." Pomni leaned towards him with come-hither eyes.

Caine smirked, leaning in with her. "Lucky fella."

"I'm the lucky one." Pomni softly kissed his bottom teeth.

RACEWAY AU REACTING TO BEING GIVEN A FLOWER

CAINE: Daylilies are his favorite. They come in many colors but the red and gold lilies match his tux. He's touched that anyone would give him anything. He'd be genuinely grateful and wear the flower proudly on his lapel.

POMNI: She doesn't remember what they're called, but she really likes those small blue flowers with yellow centers that grow in clusters. Sometimes they turn purple. (Forget-me-nots) But really, any floral gift would make her awkwardly grateful. Like, thanks, but...why?

RAGATHA: Roses! All the roses! But, give her a red rose and she will swoon. She will cherish it forever and she'd love to hug the giver, if she can cool her face down. She'd blush so hard, her face would be the same color as her hair.

JAX: No matter what he's given, he eats it. Thanks for the snack. (Dandelions are his favorite)

GANGLE: She LOVES hibiscus flowers, especially multicolored ones. They're just so beautiful. She's giddy and thanks the giver repeatedly. Almost to the point of being annoying.

ZOOBLE: Not really a flower person. No matter how impressive or symbolic...it's a plant. Cool. Thanks. They guess.

KINGER: Queen of the Night is his favorite. The rare and regal flowers are special to him because Queenie was as much a botany enjoyer as he is an insect lover. Every once in a while, he'll remember to ask Caine to make some for him to place in front of her door. Giving him one will make him silently cry.

GUMMIGOO: Snapdragons are cool, especially the purple ones. He'd be a bit flustered, thanking the giver awkwardly. He's only heard of people getting this kind of gift when it means something potentially romantic. May need some explaining if it's just a platonic gift. Either way, he keeps it in his room in a vase.

LOO: Give this woman any pink flower and she's ecstatic. Little flowers, big flowers, she doesn't care. The giver is getting a hug and a kiss and swung around, in that order. She'll keep it in her hair.

SETH: Night Rider lilies are especially poetic to give him. He'd be hesitant. He doesn't know how to handle people being nice to him. Will make some snide comment about the gifter being soft, but he'll take the flower anyway. If you look closely afterwards, it's inside his jacket.

ABEL: No matter what's presented to him, it's getting electrocuted.

"He did WHAT!?" Pomni screeched at Ragatha as they walked the circus grounds. Ragatha cringed at how loud Pomni was, eyeing the nosey sun watching them overhead.

"Pomni, please, it's probably not that big of a deal-" Ragatha held her hand out in front of her, hoping to calm Pomni down.

"It IS a big deal!! Caine has only ever taken ME on solo adventures! WHY would he take GANGLE!? And NOT TELL ME!?!?" Pomni breathed hard through her teeth. Her eyes scrambled into squiggles.

"It's probably just-....uh, they could just be-"

"HE'S GOING BEHIND MY BACK IS WHAT HE'S DOING!! THAT TRAITOR!"

"Woah, woah, let's not jump to any conclusions. Jax says a lot of things, and sure, Caine's impulsive, but I don't think he'd ever intentionally hurt you."

"He NEVER intentionally hurts us, but HERE WE ARE!" Pomni threw her hands up and gestured to the digital world around them.

"We don't know if that's even his fault-"

"WHO ELSE WOULD IT BE, RAGATHA!? HE CAN DO WHATEVER HE WANTS!! HE'S MADE HIMSELF OUT TO BE GOD MORE THAN ONCE!! Well, let me tell you, he may think he's god, but he's just a no-good, two timing piece of-"

"POMNI! Stop! Are you listening to yourself? Let's take a few deep breaths." Ragatha breathed slow and deep, motioning for Pomni to do the same.

Pomni did so begrudgingly. She was still seething with rage, her fists clenched to her side. Tears burned in her eyes. As angry as she was, her heart was genuinely hurt. She really thought solo adventures were their thing. Him going on one with someone else without talking to her about it first felt like such a betrayal.

Ragatha could see the pain in her best friend's face. "Hey, it'll be okay."

"What if it's not..?" Pomni choked, on the verge of sobbing.

Ragatha didn't know how to answer. She just opened her arms as an invite for a hug. Pomni decided she needed it and leaned face first into Ragatha.

*Earlier that day*

There they were again. Pomni and Ragatha. It was like every time he turned his back, Pomni had to give all her attention to Ragatha. Why? Why her specifically? Pomni didn't spend anywhere near as much time with the other members of the circus. What was so special about Ragatha?

Caine tapped his fingers against her crossed arms. He floated with his knees close to his chest out of view of the others. There was something going on in his circus that he didn't know about and it was making his code feel prickly under his tux.

"They're up to something...I just know it." He has no proof. Even when he had Bubble follow them, all they ever did was talk...and laugh and smile and hug. He felt even pricklier. Pomni was getting affection from someone other than him! What if there was more? What if...

His teeth narrowed over his eyes as he made a snap decision. Today's private adventure would be with someone else. He could have fun without her too!

He teleported to Gangle's room. She was in the middle of drawing and threw her pencil when he startled her. "Hello, Gangle! Lovely day for adventure, isn't it!"

"uuuuh, what-?" Gangle covered her half finished drawing.

"That's right! Today's your lucky day! I have a very special adventure planned just for you!"

"Huh?? Why- how? Just me?" Gangle could not wrap her head around what was happening.

"Yep! Just you! But don't worry! I'll tag along with you to make sure things go smoothly, so you won't be alone! Doesn't that sound fun!" He was selling it as hard as he could but he had to admit to himself, this felt wrong. His still seething jealousy swallowed the guilt.

"I...I guess." She wasn't sure what else to say. She didn't really feel like she had a choice in the matter.

"Excellent! Let's go!" He grabbed her ribbon hand and snapped. A portal appeared to an unknown world. Just before they went through, the room door opened.

"Hey, ribbons, have you seen my-" Jax looked from Gangle to Caine, to them holding hands, to the portal.

"I wouldn't remember this if I were you." Caine said before zipping through the portal, dragging Gangle with him.

The portal vanished and Jax was left stunned in the doorway. What had he just witnessed? A grin slowly crept across his face. "So things aren't all right in paradise after all. How interesting." He shut the door.

Pomni insisted on being alone. She was at the carnival games section and throwing balls at bottle towers, pretending they were Caine's face. A ball smashed a tower dead center, scattering the bottles. She took a deep breath as the bottles reassembled themselves. The tears in her eyes were still threatening to escape, no matter how hard she fought them. "Stupid... I'm so stupid..."

A familiar snap made her blood run cold. She didn't have to look to know who was there. She picked up another ball, spun around and threw it as hard as she could.

"There you are-" CRACK! The fast ball knocked Caine straight in the teeth, sending him tumbling backwards through the air. The ball bounced away to places unknown as he righted himself. "Nice shot!" He rubbed his sore tooth. "You've got quite the throwing arm, my dear."

"Don't you my dear me!" Pomni snapped. "How could you!! I finally come to trust you and this is how you repay me!?" Angry tears streamed down her cheeks. "You back stabber!!" Her voice cracked with anger.

Caine's code felt like ice. She knew. All the jealousy, the malice he felt in his intent, boiled over. "You're the one that's been going behind MY back! Ragatha this! Ragatha that! It's always RAGATHA! She's the one you go to! She's the special person in your life! When I thought that was reserved for ME!" He threw his cane and it clattered to the ground.

Pomni got even angrier. "I'M ALLOWED TO HAVE FRIENDS OUTSIDE YOU, CAINE! What you did was a complete BETRAYAL!" She shouted.

"What you two are is more than friends! I'm not that clueless! And what I did today wasn't special! It was a half baked adventure that Gangle barely participated in! It was VERY boring! There's nothing between us! UNLIKE YOU AND RAGATHA!!" Caine exploded. All of his pent up emotions burst forth like a dam broke.

Pomni hiccupped as she tried to control her breathing. "We're just friends. Humans can be affectionate with just friends!" She said through clenched teeth. "But the adventures..." She spoke slower as her tears overwhelmed her. "Those were special...when it was just us...when I had you..."

Caine deflated. The anger and jealousy left him feeling hollow. Guilt and regret filled the void. He had always meant their private adventures to be special. "...what have I done?" He said quietly to himself. "Pomni, I-" He didn't know how to fix this. "I really thought....and I felt-"

"You thought I was cheating on you." Pomni said for him. "That's what we call it." She wiped her face and sniffled. "Caine, why didn't you just talk to me? Instead you- you-..."

"I am that clueless." Caine whispered as he slowly sank until his knees touched the ground.

Pomni gasped. "Caine?"

He hung his head low, arms slack to his sides. "I'm a fool."

Pomni wiped her face again and looked away. "Yeah, you are, but...so am I. I should have seen something like this coming. You literally don't know better. I should have talked to you more about how humans act with people close to them. Aside from you, Ragatha is the one I'm closest to. I trust her. So she has privileges that others don't. Privileges, that up until now, I had really only been showing you... That's my fault."

Caine didn't look up. He wanted to throw himself into the void and never return. "It doesn't excuse my actions. I took something that was special to both of us and...and violated it. It's unforgivable."

"It hurt. A lot. But it's not unforgivable, given the circumstances. We have a strange relationship, Caine. No one can argue that. There are bound to be problems, but If we're willing to communicate... We can work through them."

Caine looked up, his eyes moist. "I'm so sorry."

"I'm sorry too."

They both went silent looking at each other. What now? How do they move on from this?

"WILL YOU TWO IDIOTS JUST KISS AND MAKE UP ALREADY!? YOUR SOB STORIES ARE MAKING ME SICK!" The condescendingly cheerful tone of the sun boomed from above.

Pomni and Caine looked up and then back to each other. Caine floated off the ground and summoned his cane. "Why don't we talk somewhere more private? ...if you'll have me?" He held out his hand to her.

Pomni didn't take her eyes off his as she gave him her hand. "I'll always have you, if you'll have me."

Caine smiled. "There is no one else I could ever want the way I want you." He snapped and a portal appeared. He gently pulled her through.

Once her visit with Kinger ended, Jax started her journey towards Her room. Gangle's room. She was hesitant. But she had received some items from Tux that had been Gangle's previously. She needed to go in there. At least once. Prove to herself that she was stronger than the sorrow she felt. When she moved to open the door, a red ribbon shot out and grabbed her, preventing her from entering the room.

"Jax! Don't you want to hold onto her memories?" P!Gangle, her universes Gangle, had prevented her from opening the door. The only reason Jax even knew she was P!Gangle, was because she was wearing a red variant of OG!Gangle's dress, one of the many failures she had made for OG!Gangle.

"Gangle. I need to do this. I need to face the fact that not everyone stays!"

"I haven't left you." She says with a smile "and I wont!" She wraps a ribbon around Jax's arm and Jax pulls away.

"You're right. I left you."
