Sometimes Nan would talk to him as if he were her Brandon, the baby she had nursed all those years ago, and sometimes she confused him with his uncle Brandon, who was killed by the Mad King before Bran was even born. She had lived so long, Mother had told him once, that all the Brandon Starks had become one person in her head.

I wonder if the Mary/Laszlo relationship had a shade of kinky? Mary clearly enjoyed his timidity whenever he needed her to do something for him (like tie his shoes), "punished" him by leaving him to do this on his own when he misbehaved towards her (such as in "These Bloody Thoughts" when she went out with Moore), and also, there was this scene where he sniffed her clothes. Perhaps Mary and/or Laszlo somehow enjoyed their role swap, i. e. in public he was her boss and she was a nobody, and in private, he depended on her, and she was de facto his mistress?

Hey there, Anon 👋 Maybe I'm a simpleton, but my read on their relationship was purely two people who needed each other and fell in love along the way. Mary first and Laszlo much later — or it just took him a long time to realize it. In Mary, Laszlo found someone he could depend on and be vulnerable with. In Laszlo, Mary found someone she could trust and care for. So when those scenes played out, I only saw two people acting out of hurt, anger, and jealousy. Could their relationship have been a little kinky? The most I'll say is this: I do see Laszlo getting off on a little bit of pain and degradation with the relief he found in hurting himself after Mary's death. Perhaps hearing Daniel talk about this himself helps you out. The particular clip starts at 1:16.
