[initial reactions] Killjoys 4x05 - Greening Pains

Oooh. They Adria’d Kendry’s baby! It’s actually an interesting contrast from SG-1, because the Hullen parasites are similar to the Goa’uld except that it’s not somebody else walking in the body but a person who is stripped of their morality and emotions. 

I really like how Killjoys balances multiple storylines, they’re using their huge cast and developing them but so far, still hasn’t lost sight that Dutch is still very much the main person. 

Did I also mention how much I love Zeph?? She’s come so far and I love that she didn’t forgive nor was she comfortable with Johnny until she made things even by electrocuting him a little bit. 

Also, I love that they keep shifting the dynamics of the cast: There was such a good scene where Dutch and Pree bonded. 

Then there’s Fancy and Garrett being buddy cops (also who knew Garrett would be so cuddly?). 

And then the next part of the episode becomes a fun heist movie with the music and the really cheesy B movie: ‘This is how we will kidnap someone’ and then Dutch’s cheesy B movie wink! 

(Please say there are gifs of that scene!).

The bastards took Garrett and Pree just arrived to find his husband missing! I bet next week we’ll see Pree and Fancy teaming up! 

The last scene ends with Kendry waking up and finding Johnny. And the history between them is so palpable, if there’s one thing we know about Johnny being Hullenized is that Johnny still hasn’t forgotten nor forgiven Kendry for killing Pawter and the damage she caused in Westerley. But in an odd twist of fate, Kendry and Johnny are the only people in the ship who knows what it’s like to be Hullen and Human again. 

I hope this leads to Kendry walking the path of redemption or as Johnny put it: ‘Stop being a shitty person and start doing the work (of making amends).’

Meanwhile, Dutch is still reeling and trying to make sense of Khlyen’s message but she’s able to finally realize that Dutch and Johnny have different version of events and now there’s a mysterious woman in Dutch’s memories.

Finally watching Killjoys ep 4x05. 😎

Opening with Dutch and D'avin is a good start. I enjoy their 💞 romance. Dutch shows a different vulnerability with D'avin than she does Johnny. It is why I appreciate seeing both her romantic & platonic relationships flourish. 😍
