my characters so far...
Compiling information about my ocs isn't a terrible idea. Whether or not I remember to do this....we'll see.
Kyaris: My pride and joy honestly. My warrior of light from FFXIV, he's chaotic and okay with that. Was a pretty free spirit before meeting his mate Fenn. Still a free spirit but now he drags Fenn along with him. Kyaris had triplets prior to meeting Fenn, they live with their father who is so well off it just felt smart. He goes to visit them frequently and is happy for any news they send to him. He also has triplets with Fenn and a singleton in his future planned so far.
Jonas: This boy has been around for god knows how long. He has various versions of him. A standard modern world, a dnd version, a regular high and low fantasy version. He is often a doctor in most or at least someone who wants to help others. Personality ranges depending on where he is in life. He's my monster fucker sooooo....
Varro: He's a new one, a druid firbolg based off highland cows. He's married to Soren and they're expecting their first children soon (haven't gotten much further). They met when Soren came through his village and he tagged along having never really left his village before. He fell in love first and enjoyed giving Soren a hard time because of it and flirted endlessly until he gave in.
There are more and will add on as needed...

The Kazkya (alt name: Evloya or whatever y'all wanna call them) refers to a set of (mostly) pagan deities, most of who are native to, or with roots stemming from, the Navkan continent. A group of mythic beasts said to have existed for thousands upon thousands of years. (And maybe old friends of a certain someone.)
Ahreum:
Current Location: wherever she wants The most well known or well, only publicly known of the Kazkya, Ahreum is a massive turtle now acting as the wandering kingdom. Patron god of scholars and artists.
Kyaris:
Current Location: believed to be around Aionitas A horned sky serpent with a set of winged arms like a wyverns, though the wings themselves resemble fins. It's publicly unknown what his domain used to be, but he is currently worshipped as the Divine Scales, a god of judgment.
Ymis:
Current Location: [redacted] A chimera-type creature. Massive lion with the horns and hind legs of an elk, and a pair of serpent-like tails said to resemble dragons more than common snakes. God of freedom, choice, and rebellion. Unknown if still worshipped anywhere but he tends to be popular with pirates.
Luleda:
Current Location: dormant somewhere under the land of what used to be Djilia A phoenix but instead of flames, her plumage was an evershifting scape of plants and flowers with petals, leaves, and flowers drifting off her body like a crackling fire. Worshipped by the psirans as a goddess of life, and creation. Some artists of old have claimed her as a source of inspiration. When coupled with her mate, Melous, they are regarded as the dual god of cycles. Of death and rebirth, of the changing of seasons, etc.
Melous:
Current Location: [redacted] A dragon with shifting scales that resemble shadows or dark waters and horns and claws that glow like the moons. Said to possess a powerful venom. Regarded as a god of death and destruction. Was possibly worshipped by the people of Delos. When seen with his mate, Luleda, they are regarded as the dual god of cycles.
Yfarae:
Current Location: dead A massive winged stag whose coat and horns shifted to reflect the color of the moons. God of community and said to have been a being of pure magic. Myths talk about him being slain in battle while defending his followers or friends. Though dead, he is still used by some smaller villages as a symbol of the strength of community and helping your fellow man.
Byena:
Current Location: [redacted] A hydra-like creature but instead of scales, her body is covered in soft iridescent silver feathers. Goddess of time, peace, and rest. She is the one who protects you when you sleep after tiring days. The one to hold your hand and join you in times of pain. Said to have healing tears and blood.

Jim Corbett National Park: India's Wild Heartbeat Off the Tourist Trail
Located in the verdant Terai foothills of Uttarakhand, Jim Corbett National Park is sometimes idealized in terms of tiger spotting and safari jeeps. But beyond the commercialized surface lies a deeper, more intimate reality—one that beats in the forgotten village trails, concealed ecosystems, and legends shared beneath banyan trees.
This blog is not about where to see a tiger or in which zone to book. Rather, it's an invitation to experience Jim Corbett National Park Uttarakhand in its lesser-seen aspects—those that don't always find their way to Instagram but remain etched in memory.
Founded in 1936 as Hailey National Park, Corbett is India's oldest national park—but not its only identity. It's a living forest, generations old in communities, invisible biodiversity, and ecological mysteries that remain under the radar amidst the thunder of safari engines.
Spreading over more than 1,200 square kilometers (buffer zones included), Corbett National Park has varied habitats—riverine strip, sal forests, grassland, and hill country. Though all tourists rush directly to Dhikala or Bijrani for sightseeing, magic usually happens in its surroundings.
1. The Invisible Keepers: Forest Villages Still Living in Harmony
Beyond the core zone are villages that have lived alongside wildlife for generations—subsisting in buffer villages such as Kyari, Dhela, and Ringora. In contrast with much of the tribal population resettled for conservation, these societies continue to live a sustainable existence—utilizing forest resources judiciously, anticipating animal migration by interpreting ground signs, and revering nature through periodic festivals.
These villagers are quiet conservationists. Many village guides are direct descendants of the men who once guided Jim Corbett himself. Their tales, replete with encounters with elephants, leopards, and snakes, are rich oral histories waiting to be told.
Homestay in these villages is more than providing a bed—it is immersion in a forest world where man and beast are not in conflict, but in harmony.
2. Offbeat Zones: Corbett's Best-Kept Secrets
Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna are all common travel places. However, Jim Corbett National Park Uttarakhand contains lesser-used gems:
Durga Devi Zone: This one is suited best for the bird watchers and the river crossers. Terrain in this part is hilly and steep. The thrill of the place differs. Look for otters beside Domunda Bridge or catch glimpses of that sly grey-headed fishing eagle.
Sitabani Buffer: Outside of forest control, Sitabani offers parking for private vehicles and features ancient temples, sacred groves, and mythological paths attributed to the Ramayana. Ideal for self-directed travel with local background information.
Kalagarh Forest Division: This area is a serene haven, mostly overlooked by tourists but containing old British-era rest houses, elephants, and serene riverbanks. It's also a corridor for migration and a photographer's paradise.
These areas are uncrowded, provide more personalized wildlife experiences, and tend to provide you a richer sense of the forest.
3. In the Hush: Corbett's Other Wildlife
Monsoon months yield even stranger species: huge snails, fungi that light up in the dark, beetle-like insects with changing colors, and a mix of amphibians that live well by the seasonal streams near the forest.
Tumblr media
Unique to Corbett is its potential to support microhabitats—one patch of sal forest can provide an ecosystem so intricate that it can be worked on for years without complete understanding.
4. Sacred Forests and Forgotten Temples
Above the biodiversity exists a spiritual legacy—sacred groves, shrines, and secret temples hidden in the forest. Shrines for goddess Sita and local forest gods, usually flanked by ancient peepal trees and cared for by sadhus residing deep within the jungle, can be seen in the Sitabani range.
Locals also think that wild animals shun these spots due to respect for the divine. These sacred nature spots create an ecological buffer as well—barring sections of the forest from human intrusion by cultural prohibitions.
These sites bring a spiritual aspect to your vacation, encouraging contemplation more than adventure.
5. Forest Food and Traditional Healing
In Corbett's surrounding villages, food is a forest narrative. Bhatt ki churkani, kandali saag, and timur chutney (preparations from Himalayan Szechuan pepper) are not just meals but also seasonal, medicinal, and sustainable.
The villagers here are guardians of old medical knowledge. Shrubs of the forest such as giloy, ashwagandha, and mulethi cure anything from cough to stress. As Ayurveda gains popularity, these village practitioners are being rediscovered as ethnobotanical riches.
6. Soundscapes and Night Walks: Listening to the Forest
Ever gone walking in the forest at dusk—not with lights and commotion, but quietly? Villagers and responsible nature guides provide sound-scape experiences, where listening alone is the only objective,
The night-time orchestra consists of:
The alarm call of the spotted deer
The resonant whoop of an owl
The hum of cicadas following rain
The shuffle of dry leaves beneath a porcupine's feet
Tumblr media
It's a type of mindfulness you won't discover in high-end resorts. These low-impact, sensory activities are gaining traction among mindful travelers seeking more immersive, non-intrusive ways to connect with the wild.
7. Conservation Tourism: Be a Participant, Not Just a Spectator
Ecotourism in Jim Corbett National Park is not merely carbon footprints. It's giving back to locals, choosing community-managed eco-stays, refusing plastic, and visiting in shoulder seasons to ease pressure on wildlife.
Some NGOs and schools in the surrounding forests provide volunteer opportunities, tree-planting campaigns, and bird monitoring schemes that invite tourists to make a difference.
When you step beyond safaris and hotels, you are included in the story of conservation—not just a consumer of it.
Final Thoughts: Why the Forest Deserves More Than Just a Weekend
There are too many people who think of Corbett National Park as a two-day checklist destination: enter, spot, exit. But if you slow down, venture to its outer fringes, and ask the locals, Corbett shows itself to be a forest of memory, mystery, and mindfulness.
It's not only the tiger's roar that characterizes it, but the old trees' sigh, the silence of moss-grown temples, and the patience of those who coexist with nature.
So the next time you book your trip to Jim Corbett National Park Uttarakhand, look beyond the safari. Look at people, look at stories, look beyond the beaten paths. And who knows, maybe Corbett has something to share with you, even Google can't find.

Jim Corbett National Park – A Comprehensive Guide
Tumblr media
The Indian jungle is full of stunning and hidden wonders that await those who travel deep inside. Jim Corbett National Park is one of India’s most valuable forest reserves. Jim Corbett National Park, located in Uttarakhand, is Asia’s first national park.
Jim Corbett is a must-see destination because to its lush vegetation, abundant plant, animal, and bird life, and the existence of two rivers, the Kosi and Ramganga. Corbett National Park is a breathtaking piece of nature that encourages everyone to discover the wonderful vistas and surprises buried inside.
Corbett Tiger Reserve provides a wealth of activities to visitors. During their stay, visitors may participate in forest safaris, elephant rides, bridge crawling, fishing, angling, and river rafting activities. Because of the abundance of diversity, Jim Corbett National Park is best visited during both the summer and winter seasons.
Here is a little guide to Jim Corbett National Park and what you should expect while going there.
Experience the thrills of one of the best jungle safaris in India
Jim Corbett is an ideal location for a jungle safari. Whoever comes here wants to view strange animals and birds that have made this location their home. More significantly, travelers come to meet the majestic tigers who made Jim Corbett National Park their home.
A visit to the national park isn’t complete without a Jim Corbett safari. A jeep trip or an elephant ride leads you within the deep green forests, where the lucky ones can glimpse tigers.
Even if you don’t see the beasts, the Jim Corbett Safari experience will not disappoint. You can view various creatures, including:
Jungle Cat
Fishing Cat
Leopards
Barking Deer
Elephants
Hog Deer
Sambar
Cheetah
Himalayan Black Bears
Langurs
Indian Pangolins
Aside from that, a Jim Corbett safari package includes a visit to the crocodile and ghariyals.
Go on well-marked bird-watching trails
Along with the designated Safari treks inside Jim Corbett National Park, various bird watching routes provide insight into the park’s robust avifauna population. Bird watchers frequently avoid the typical Jim Corbett Safari in favor of exploring the forests to observe and capture the bird population.
Corbett National Park has some perfectly marked trails for bird watching. Some of the most popular ones are –
HaatiDangar
Kosi Barrage and Sitabani
Kyari to Powalgarh
Garjiya Temple
Mohaan to Kumariya
Bhakrakot
Each bird watching route is unique and well-known for the breeding sites of certain species. While Haati Danger is more known for vulture and sandpiper sightings, it is also regarded as the finest place to see tigers. Kosi and Sitabani is bird viewing trails are well-known for Red Starts, Lesser and Greater Cormorants, Ruddy Shell Ducks, Herons, Eagles, Kingfishers, and other species.

Enjoy an adrenaline-pumping river rafting session in Kosi
Corbett National Park offers more than just wildlife-related activities. You may also spend some time raising your adrenaline with a high-speed rafting trip. The Kosi River in Corbett Tiger Reserve is famed for its rapids, making it an ideal location for rafting adventures.
Enjoy an elephant safari
A visit to this National Park also gives you the opportunity to ride elephants and explore the jungle from a new perspective. You may make your Jim Corbett National Park reservations with Elephant Safari. From top these gentle giants, the entire park appears to be a different place.
Visit the holy Garija Temple
Uttarakhand is a country of temples. Beautifully designed holy places of worship decorate the state’s most picturesque destinations. The Holy Garija shrine is one of the park’s most treasured sites, especially among photographers and religious people.
Aside from being immensely venerated among the villages of Corbett, it is one of the most important temples in the Nainital district. Located on the banks of the Kosi River, this temple provides picturesque scenes with the river, hills, and verdant forests in the background.
A visit to Corbett National Park is incomplete without visiting at the temple to bask in the wonderful views that surround it.
Stay option in Jim Corbett National Park
You can stay at the Limewood Riverside Resort hotel in Jim Corbett, which is located in the tranquil Dhikuli town near Jim Corbett National Park. This resort in Jim Corbett is ideal for leisure tourists looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in the calm of nature.
Best time to visit Jim Corbett National Park
Jim Corbett National Park, unlike many other national parks in India, is open year-round. Jim Corbett National Park reservations are open all year. Migratory birds can be seen throughout the winter, but open tiger sightings are more common in the summer.

Craving more Akigure content since anime is currently in a drought, more headcanon a please? uwu
Missing akigure as well haha ;w;
Well, let’s go ♥ :
eating habits :
-Even if we would think Shigure is the whiny one about food, always asking for something he is craving, he is actually isn’t picky, whereas Akito, if she don’t want to eat something, she won’t. It’s a bad habit she took from the time she had a god complex, since nobody told her she had to make an effort. However, instead of screaming on people who did food she don’t like, she just won’t touch her plate. So Shigure bought some snack for her to eat before going to bed, in case she don’t eat at all.
-Akito is not picky on vegetables, it’s more meat and fish she don’t like. She only eat her egg half boiled. She don’t like to chew. Shigure on the opposite, like meat raw. He don’t like fish because each time he eat one, he end up having way too much fishbone and it spoilt his appetite.
-She often tease him about his luck with fishes, especially when are invited in a reception and that the main dish is fish.
-When they are invited in reception or in restaurant for official meeting, the politeness ask people to finish their plates. However, it’s often too much for Akito, so when nobody is looking, Shigure take what’s left in her plate in his and eat everything.
-She is shocked by how much he can eat, he often laugh it’s his dog stomach.
Sleeping habits:
-Akito sleep a lot, she goes sleep early (around 10 p.m when they don’t have sexual activities) and she would wake up late if they didn’t have any alarm. She can take naps during the afternoon as well, always when it’s summer. Shigure at the difference go to sleep really late, past 1 a.m and he totally isn’t a morning person. Also, when he done more than half of his work, he allow himself to join Akito in her nap.
-I think I already said this headcanon, but i really love it ♥; Shigure always wrap his arms around Akito during his sleep to the point she can’t move nor turn around. She is stuck. It became worse when Shiki came in the picture because he is like his father and she find herself being a human pillow for her husband and son.
-Their favorite sleeping position is spooning. She fall asleep on his arm and he, the nose in the crook of her shoulder, where he can smell her scent the best. He really love it when it’s still dampened from shower.
-It’s a specialized maid who is in charge to wake them up the morning, because they tend to ignore the alarm. Once they got Shiki, the boy took this role.
-Akito tend to daze in the eyes empty for one minute before getting completely awake while Shigure is more to beg for ‘5 more minutes’ in the pillow.
Leisure activities :
-Of course, when Shigure have free time, he wants to read a bit of see his friends. When he is reading, he likes having Akito around. Like her napping of doing something. He knows it’s stupid, but it kind of reassure him to know she is safe.
-Before having Shigure in, Akito never listened music out of traditional song play during new year banquet, because maids told her it’s loud and it’s bad for her. Shigure kind of suspected it but he was still shocked. He installed his cd players and they spent a whole afternoon to do nothing but listen songs, in aim to find something she would like.
-However, Shigure is more a person to listen old songs like Sachiko Nishida; Akito often catch him humming ‘Acacia no ame ga yamu toki’ (When the rain of Acacia stop; it’s a melancholic love song about a person wondering if the loved one would think about you if you were to disappear. It’s really popular). When Shiki was born, he would always sing him Michiyo Azusa’s “Konnichiwa Akachan” (Hello baby; it’s a song about a mother singing to her baby how happy she is to have her baby and how they make her and their father happy). Akito, with Saki, Tohru and Mine influence is more into popular song, she really like Perfume, her favorite is Natural ni Koishite (be naturally loving; it’s a simple love song. Shigure saw her moving her hips in rhythm when she sorting out paperworks when Kyary Pamyu Pamyu‘s ‘Ninja Re bang bang’ was on radio. She still denies. They both agree to say that Kenshi Yonezu is one of the best singer of the decade.
-They don’t like sport, however, they don’t mind taking a walk for hours, especially in nature. Akito don’t like walking in city much, the pollution is bad for her health. So they often go and walk around field roads and at the beach. However, they won’t go near of Shigure’s old house forest, it bring Akito way too many bad memories about Tohru falling off the cliff.
-They watch movies really casually. They don’t go in cinema, so they prefer watching the movies scheduled on tv. Akito devotes a hellish hate toward ads. Shigure tried to buy movie dvds, but it ended up forgotten and they never watch it.
-They don’t play much video games, but they are both nintendo only players. Akito is all about Animal Crossing (the island she made on new horizon have zodiac characters, but she quickly found new villagers and let them go. Her favorite is Fang). Shigure is really a casual player and it’s more Zelda and Mario. He also never finish game.
-Shigure still write from time to time, but it’s really short stories when he have nothing else to do, when his imagination run wild. However, since he achieved his dreams, he find himself not having idea to write about anymore haha. He was sad about it. Akito noticed it and instead of saying something, she just went and hugged him. At this moment, he thought that even if he lost his inspiration for writing, he was really happy. When Akito got pregnant, his inspiration came back and he written so many stories for children.
That’s all I have for the moment, maybe ask me later, i will give you more haha ♥

Very Berry Strawberry!!!
It’s been almost a year since we haven’t updated you all of our Jia!
Serious apologies, let’s do a “shubharambh” with “kuch meetha”
(Disclaimer - no added sugar :P purely organic! )
Our P mum with her ‘Jia’ (referring to heart, meaning with her whole and soul) is blissfully involved in gardening at ‘Jia’ (referring to our place where we reside). Her joyous effort is giving us joy too! From the month of March till now we are enjoying her love fruit ;) in the form of shakes, syrup, with ice-cream or just popping like that from the garden.
Tumblr media
So, how it all started? The first garden strawberries were bred in Brittany, France in 1750’s via a cross of a wild strawberry and a beach strawberry brought from Chile.
Oh ho! But how it started at Jia? Let’s ask her only:
1.  K- What made you think of growing strawberries at Jia?
P Mum – I spotted wild strawberries which made me inquisitive and I searched online! Leaves of those plants were similar to strawberry. Then I started searching for strawberry plants in this region and found them in Neva Nursery in 2013. Next year they multiplied and the first fruit of strawberry appeared.
Tumblr media
So, she spotted Fragaria Indica also known as ‘Mock Strawberry’ which was the beginning of growing Fragaria Ananassa widely known as ‘Garden strawberry’.  According to this link:
http://thetravellertrails.in/wild-flowers-of-himachal-pradesh/
These wild strawberries are found at an altitude of 5905-9842 ft (1800-3000mts).  Jia is at an altitude of 4114 ft, but our residing camp is around 1000 ft more from the Jia milestone. Thus, we are blessed to encounter this fruit.
Tumblr media
2.  K - What were your experiments from sowing to harvesting?
P Mum - Initially, I was not able to keep pace with the sowing cycle. I decided to grow in pots and started getting good flowers, but the fruit appeared later was deformed. Slowly I learnt it was due to poor pollination because of lack of bees.
Next year, we had lot of vegetation in the campus. Our 5 year old peach tree gave a bumper crop of about 80kgs of peach fruit last year (This year it is affected by some disease). This resulted in enough bees to pollinate our flowers.
Then I started shifting these plants to a ‘kyari’ (flower bed) to grow my increased population of strawberry plants. Each plant gives 5-8 new plants every year. So we had good flowers, good fruit.
Tumblr media
3.  K - What were the challenges faced in tendering this tiny little yummy fruit?
P Mum – The first challenge was soil itself. Quality of soil at Jia is not fertile enough, so it needed nourishment. For that manure (cow dung) was required which was another challenge as it is not easily available because it is used by the villagers in their own farms for growing rice, wheat, potato etc.
Second was the attracted predator! Red and Juicy strawberries were eaten away whenever we decided to pluck them. Again, I went online to search about the ‘keeda’ (worm/ insect). One day I spotted a small, black, snail like insect which is called a SLUG. But, how to control it from attacking my strawberries? My colony of plants had increased to hundreds and needed a rescue. The internet ‘baba’ gave a solution to use Beer. Yes you read it right! Beer was poured into half cut plastic bottles and kept between plants, poor slug is attracted to the smell of the beer and falls into the liquid instead of getting attracted to strawberry fruit.
Tumblr media
Lol! It’s like luring someone with alcohol and getting drunk! So, this worked out and the fruit is safe :)
4.  K- Any idea why it’s called strawberry?
P Mum – Jia is a heavy prone area. It can start raining without warning. The soil gets mushy and the ripe tender fruit in contact with the soil begins to rot. The solution is laying a bed of straw between the plant and the soil. This protects the berry above the straw. Hence Strawberry!
Superb logic behind the name. Hats off to her!
Tumblr media
Her effort is not only limited to growing the fruit but she has very meticulously recycled plastic curd ‘matkis’ (round shaped jars) as a cosy home for the fruit. These matkis are delightful gifts for people who looooveee gardening.
Tumblr media
Besides being called the ‘fruit of love’, strawberry has many health benefits too. It helps in keeping skin soft and preventing from sunburn. It is rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties which help in fighting asthma, osteoarthritis. Prevents cancer, and improve health of our eyes. Also, being rich in vitamin C it helps in maintaining low blood pressure and ensuring a healthy immune system. Following are the meaningful links to read more about the fruit:

On this note…I would like to share these lovely lines by Robert Graves found in the following link:
http://www.azquotes.com/quotes/topics/strawberries.html
These lines perfectly summarizes our Tale of Strawberry at ‘Jia’:
"Strawberries that in gardens grow
Are plump and juicy fine,
But sweeter far as wise men know
Spring from the woodland vine.
No need for bowl or silver spoon,
Sugar or spice or cream,
Has the wild berry plucked in June
Beside the trickling stream.
One such to melt at the tongue's root,
Confounding taste with scent,
Beats a full peck of garden fruit:
Which points my argument."
End Note: The Photographs included in the blog is solely H’s skill & talent, the growing of strawberries is solely P Mum’s and her helper gardener’s effort and the writing content is developed, interviewed and researched by K.

3 BEST JUNGLE RESORTS IN INDIA
India is far more than holy cows and incredible architecture. Home to some of the densest and beautiful jungles in the world, there’s no better way to explore India’s interiors in the hope of meeting Shere Khan himself than on an Indian safari and stay at a jungle resort in India. From the tiger-rich parks of Madhya Pradesh in the north to the off-beat forests of Karnataka, here are some of our favourite jungle lodges in India.
Camp Hornbill, Uttarakhand
Bordering Jim Corbett National Park and at the feet of the Himalayas, Camp Hornbill was set up in 2010 by local residents from the nearest village, Kyari, and it is solely owned and managed by the local community. Many of the locals who run it are professionally qualified from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi.
Svasara Jungle Lodge at Tadoba, Maharashtra
Located two hours away from Nagpur, Svasara Jungle Lodge is set right up against the edge of Tadoba Tiger Reserve. It’s part of Svasara group, a small chain of environmentally friendly hotels across many of India’s bio-diverse jungles, with the goal to provide high quality service and lodging, a truly memorable and special wildlife holiday, along with convenient safari planning (which can be a bit of a chore, trust us!).
Khem Villas, Ranthambore, Rajasthan
Khem Villas is a luxury jungle camp at Ranthambore, Rajasthan’s premier tiger reserve. The camp is designed to provide peace and tranquility within its luxurious and very personal atmosphere. Accommodation is high end, and you won’t want for anything at this jungle lodge.

Nitin Gadkari inaugurates and lays foundation stones of road projects worth Rs. 6155 crore in State
Tumblr media
