And Palatki Brick for Mikey!
Links for the songs under the cut!
Leo's Playlist:

Shigotoshite-P - Tsugai Kogarashi
As the birthplace was burnt, the wind left there Led by the leaf's hand, the wind ran off Even there was no time to feel fears For the unknown future
Mother Mother - Little Pistol
I think i might be scared Of the world and the way It makes you feel afraid And how it gets in the way
Yorushika - Hana ni Bōrei
To let me never forget To make the colors never fade As things that go down in history Don't always mean everything
Cuarteto de Nos - No Llora
I don't know if these words Will fly with the wind But I have heard The wind talk
Raph's Playlist:
Tan Bionica - Arruinarse
I'm a bit anxious And the day ends I'm just looking for The slightest bit of your adrenaline
Lil Nas X ft. Jack Harlow - Industry Baby
I told you long ago on the road I got what they waiting for I don't run from nothing, dog Get your soldiers, tell them I ain't laying low

For what was, and for what could've been For what we have, and for what we might lack For what might come, and for this instant Raise your glass, and drink for endurance
Ado - Usseewa
But I'm not having enough fun Something is missing These problems better be somebody's fault I'm just confused errday
El Cuarteto de Nos - Invierno del 92
It's gonna be a long wait Until spring comes And even though I'm shivering from the cold I am still getting heated up
Donnie's Playlist:
Fall Out Boy - What A Catch, Donnie
I got troubled thoughts And the self esteem to match What a catch What a catch...
NoteBlock ft. JayMoji - Nostalgia
Note: This song doesnt have lyrics. Have an extract from the video's description instead:
Composed and arranged around the idea of our favorite videogames and EDM artists of our early youth, this original track, Nostalgia, was born!
WONDERFUL★OPPORTUNITY - Remote Control
That mocking face as always (It's easy for you, right?) I'm pretty serious today, okay? So let's settle this quickly
Eve - Oki Ni Mesu Mama
There's no meaning to being humble and respectful So bye-bye to my embarrasing dreams From now on, forever, let's get along Let's get along
El Cuarteto de Nos - Anónimo
I care very little about aesthetics Or reasons or dialectics Today, I'm the face without cosmetics Of this pathetic reality
Mikey's Playlist:
ABBA - Dancing Queen
Looking on for another Anyone will do You're in the mood for a dance And when you get the chance...
Mitchie M - Viva Happy
If you love yourself as the way you are Everything would be "que sera sera" I present this song for you Who are alone at the moment
Fito Páez - Mariposa Tecknicolor
Everything did happen in the end But time just didn't wait for them The melancholy of dying in this world And of living without a stupid reason
Shakira - Waka Waka
Listen to your god, this is our motto Your time to shine, don't wait in line, y vamos por todo People are raising their expectations Go on and feed them, this is your moment, no hesitation
El Cuarteto de Nos - Algo Mejor Que Hacer
And in their wrong reasoning They say I have no cure But I don't wanna be healed from anything

"Strau-celo" OMG I love that you already have a name for it :') but damn right I can't wait for whatever you've wrote about them! I'm so glad I'm not the only one on this ship 😭 (it's not a platonic thing for me, we are talking full romance btw hsjdhd)
YOU ARE IN VERY GOOD COMPANY HERE, ANON.
Who founded the Marcelo/Fito ship on AO3? This girl. I am genuinely surprised that more people didn't gravitate towards it because... well...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone involved knew exactly what they were doing with this.
The author community on AO3 is very small, but there's been quite a lot written by various authors exploring the different dynamics of Marcelo and the Strauches to various degrees. I think what you will really enjoy is the Extended Primoverse Collection which is mostly intended as a pre-canon (or predominantly pre-canon) collection of stories that look at the close relationships of the cousins with each other... and Marcelo is there too sometimes. There are currently three works in the collection but more being written: The World in Brown Eyes, Tricks and Treats, and Lalo the Artist.
Some other great Strauch-celo fics I can recommend are:
I will remember how you kissed me (Marcelo/Eduardo; rated T)
Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendour in the grass (Marcelo/Fito; rated E for a specific chapter, and also Chapter 3 has an excellent breakfast scene with all four Strauch cousins because WE NEVER FORGET DANIEL SHAW)
Both of these fics and the Primoverse Collection were created by @if-not-now-tell-me-when who does wonderful work and loves looking at and breaking down the different dynamics of these boys!
Some other great fic recs are also:
and we're wholly unworthy by Anonymous (rated G) which is actually a Daniel/Tintin fic but for obvious reasons his cousins are important and the first couple chapters really show their dynamic from Daniels' POV wonderfully - how protective he is, and how responsible he feels for them.
Heroes by ferret_not_microwave (genfic; no rating) which explores how each of the three Strauches does or does not deal with their survivor's guilt and grief upon returning.
a kiss that you don't need by Anonymous (Marcelo/Fito & Marcelo/Eduardo; rated G) which is beautifully complicated and sad
Of Coffee, Museums and Waves by ferret_not_microwave (Marcelo/Fito; rated T) which is canon-divergent but beneath all the fluff I feel very importantly pauses to ask the question as to whether or not Marcelo would have been okay if he'd survived.
The last two fics and the last one in particular have sort of been gnawing away at my brain, and led me to start thinking more about how complicated some of the dynamics between them all would be. Because of it, I very recently wrote a fic that digs more into the question about how difficult any sort of return to normal would be, how Marcelo's presence might actually make the dynamic between the three cousins more complicated (for maybe not-so-platonic reasons) and just... I don't know, it's hard for me sometimes to explain what questions I'm exploring or why certain ideas end up being so compelling to me without getting too personal about it because I'm always afraid of saying too much or sharing too much or looking a bit silly. But if the last two fics intrigued you or you've already read them and found them enjoyable, then I also recommend this one:
The Worst of the Mountain Staring Back (Marcelo/Fito, with some minor Marcelo/Eduardo; rated T)
If you are looking specifically for what I've written about them (which is very sweet and flattering, thank you!), then I can treat you to the following:
Mañana (a Marcelo/Fito character study; rated T; 2914 words)
Before It Felt Like a Sin (4279 words of E-rated Marito smut you have been warned)
A Beautiful Agony (rated T; in progress 2/20 chapters; major focus on Marcelo & Eduardo; and Marcelo/Fito)
Lalo the Artist (rated G; 2457 words; just the three cousins being three cousins)
And of course The Worst of the Mountain Staring Back is one of mine as well.
But no, anon, you are definitely not the only person into these different ships! You are in very good company! Honestly, the fic community is small but the half dozen or so authors in it are really very talented and even though so much of the subject matter is emotionally heavy, everything that people put out is handled so well and with so much respect for the real events and individuals behind the fictional versions. And I feel like that's a very important distinction. These fics are written specifically about the fictionalized versions you see in the movie. They're characters much in the same way you would view fanfic for The Terror or Band of Brothers. As someone who has been around fandom for a very long time, you would think that would be obvious, but I've seen enough nasty comments from people to realize that this concept is sometimes difficult for some people to grasp.

Hometown cathedral selfie
Standing outside the 1686-1949 San Sebastián Cathedral in my hometown of Tarlac City, Province of Tarlac.
Church started as a small wooden hut by Augustinian priests from the town of Magalang in the Province of Pampanga, 40 kilometers away. The chapel was established to administer to the farming communities along the 95.2 kilometer long Tarlac Rive, which would eventually led to the formation of the town of Tarlac. Politically the new community was an extension of the municipality of Porac,  which is around 59 kilometers away in the Province of Pampanga.
As more migrants settled in the area, the Augustinian priests petitioned that the chapel be declared an independent parish by 1725; while the local landowners requested the Tarlac become an autonomous political unit from Porac by 1788.
When the chapel was finally given its independent status in 1727, the church was christened after the Roman martyr, Saint Sebastián (Σεβαστιανός. AD 255-288) who was tied to a tree and riddled with arrows for being exposed as a Christian. To celebrate the new status, a church was constructed in 1740 by the parish priest, Father Agustín Barriocanal.
As the congregation grew, and newer edifice was needed, and the old church had sustained significant damage during the 1863 magnitude 7.4 earthquake. So an newer structure was completed in 1872 under a certain Baltasar Gamarra who had also worked on the San Bartolomé Church in Magalang in 1875.
However, the consequent parish priests desired to “improve” on the church’s façade so that they may rival the other beautiful parishes in the neighboring towns, so Father Tomás Fito Zapatero (1850-1905) began the construction of a stronger church, learning from the lessons of the 1863 earthquake.
The church was completed in 1890 under the guidance of a certain Father Fermin Sardon, which inspired his fellow Augustinian priest Father Fernando Vásquez to “copy” the façade for the 1893 construction of the Neo-Romanesque Santuario de la Inmaculada Concepcion (Shrine of the Immaculate Conception), in the town of Concepcion 26 kilometers away.
Sadly the old church was destroyed during the Battle of Tarlac in 1945, where American and Filipino forces took back the province from the Japanese army. The church was rebuilt into in current Neo-Gothic style by 1949, and it was declared a cathedral in 1963 when the Archdiocese of Tarlac was established.
This picture was taken circa 2021, when I visited my clan for probably the last time as I was sure I was settling down in Cebú and may find it hard to travel back.

Hey! We seem to have a lot of interests in common, but I'm curious, how did you become a fan from Argentinian national rock, being Italian? - I'm Argentinian :) -
Hi!! Tbf a mutual of mine introduced me to Serú Girán (and Fito Páez too) a few years ago, but it took me a while to discover their repertoire properly since my mind is just. A complete mess bc I get interested in too many things at the same time 💔 then I started listening to Soda Stereo which led me to Cerati's solo career and so on :) I still have to give Pescado Rabioso and Spinetta's stuff a deep listen though! Greetings from Italy 🫶🏼

Dodow: A Simple Solution for Sleep-Deprived People
Dodow is a sleep mask that has been designed to help people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. It uses soothing lights and sounds to create the perfect sleeping environment. In addition, Dodow will monitor your sleep cycle, so you can see how much deep sleep you are getting versus light sleep. This way, you'll know exactly what affects your quality of rest!
Tumblr media
How do you use Dodow?
Put on the headband and turn it on by pressing the button at the back for one second until both sides start blinking slowly in green color (it takes about 20 seconds). The flash rate slows down as time passes which indicates that it's working!
To bed with Dodow on your head and the mask over your eyes. If you wake up in the middle of a sleep cycle, put Dodow back on (you can still turn it off with one click at any point). Your bedside lamp should be turned off before going to sleep. This is very important!
How does Dodow work?
Dodow works using light therapy technology. This means that users will see soothing coming from under their eyelids, which is designed to mimic the effect of natural sunlight. The lights are also engineered to aid in producing melatonin – a hormone that helps regulate your sleep cycle. Melatonin levels tend to spike at night and decrease during the day; this means you should be seeing less light as it gets later into the evening!
Dodow uses blue-green lights with low intensity throughout its 30 minute session (anywhere from 40% - 70%). This way, users can fall asleep naturally, without feeling like they're being put on hold for several minutes before bedtime begins! You can also find more details about Dodow through thegadgetians reviews where we added the features and benefits as well.
Benefits of using the product
Decreased stress -Increased energy levels throughout the day -More time spent sleeping at night, which means you'll be more productive during your waking hours!
"If you can't fall asleep within ten minutes of turning on Dodow it certainly isn't for lack of trying."
The retail price for a new and improved model is $99 USD. You can also sign up to receive offers from their mailing list (which we highly recommend that you do!) and get exclusive discounts on products as well as any special promotions they may currently have going on. These prices are significantly lower than those associated with similar sleep masks such as SomniFix ($149) or FITO ($149).
Does Dodow work?
Yes! The product has been clinically tested and is FDA-cleared. You can also look at the reviews of other users on Amazon to get an idea of just how helpful this gadget really is. If you want help falling asleep quickly, staying asleep throughout the night, and waking up feeling refreshed – then go with a tried and true solution like Dodow!
Tumblr media
Conclusion
Dodow is a device that helps people sleep better by reducing the time it takes to fall asleep. It’s made of soft LED lights, which are proven to help reduce cortisol levels and increase melatonin production—two hormones crucial for good sleep. The best part about this product? You can use it anywhere you go! So if your busy lifestyle doesn’t leave room for much downtime, or you just need some extra zzzz's before an important meeting, give Dodow a try today!

Where my Biopunk OCs live/d:
(if some of these locations sound off keep in mind 1) it’s the year 2143 A LOT of things have changed 2) I’m a provinciano who just realized all my characters are porteños WHAT A NIGHTMARE anyways enjoy)
Marcos: In a small but cozy apartment in Ciudad Refugio Francisco I, in the western Buenos Aires Conurbano, near of what today is Morón. Built up of containers, prefab buildings and biosecurity towers, it was built by Argentina’s goverment for people who lost their homes when Buenos Aires was contaminated during the Ecocide. Over time, many people have preferred to keep living in these refuges, as it is safer than the rest of the city. The small houses are built above each other and connected by metal stairs and biomaterial vines; they are decorated in bright colors and living murals, and the greenhouses are public meeting places. Marco’s room is tiny; he has only room for his computer, bed and some space posters. He spent most of his time practicing gardening and bioprogramming in the greenhouses and local bioclubs. Quarantine times were hard, with so little space to share with his mom, brother and sometimes Fito the police dog.
Florencia: An elegant apartment in Bilinghurst, Buenos Aires Province, built in the classical concrete-and-glass style of the early 21st century. It is close to a SENA security station, and the hum of biomachinery and aircraft is always present. Florencia’s room has LOTS of plants and flowers, is painted with trippy, psychodelic living paintings, has large bioglass windows, and an amazing balcony with views to the city. Florencia was born, however, in Resistencia, Chaco; Her childhood home was a wooden biohouse growing in the roots of the Nawe Epaq, the great tree that covers the entire city. Her military family moved all across Argentina, and in a couple ocassions to other countries, so she has lived in a lot of homes. She considers the current one temporary and has little attachment to it, or at least so she says.
Ariel: A very old two-story home in Coghlan, Buenos Aires City (formerly Capital Federal). Built in a charming European style, it is covered by ivy vines. The old cobbled street is shaded by poplars that cover the streets in leaves in the autumn. Ariel’s home is full of antique stuff and old electronics, and also furniture from his parent’s shop. His room has only the latest computer and gaming tech, but he spends most of his time in the garage (after all, cars aren’t used anymore), where he has his own local biotech repair service, advertised only by a small led sign in the door (everything is online these days) that says Ariel’s Fast Biotech Repair (he isn’t very good at marketing). Full of discarded PCR machines, bioforges and PCs piled on each other, cleaning machines for other machines, an stereo system, an old laptop, and parts dispersed on tables and cases, it looks like a mess, but Ariel keeps it up-to-regulations all the time.
Melanie: A two-story home in Villa Devoto, Buenos Aires City, near a new vertical park/farm. It has a popular antiques store in the first floor; Disco Eterno. In Disco Eterno, you can find all sorts of collector items; from disco balls to old vinyl discs to anime figurines. However, the owners (Melanie’s grandparents) pride themselves on their data recovery services; they even have recovered old VHS! The apartment itself is spacious and comfy, with those flowery patterns that grandparents love so very much, and a garden in the balcony. Melanie’s room is very big, and as you would expect, full of old anime merch, some more than a century old; posters, figurines, DVD sets, music, videogames... And a lot of old TVs, consoles and computers to watch and play them, some gifted by Ariel. And also a soviet flag, probably.
Marina: In a room in Al Lado Del Camino, a student’s boarding house in Colegiales, Buenos Aires City. Built in a neo-art-nouveau (yeah) style, the rooms are small but cozy, and Marina has plenty of space for all her books and other stuff she has collected in her time in Argentina. The boarding house has people from all over the world, which is great for her because she can practice new languages and make new friends, but it’s not so great when she needs to sleep in a saturday and her roomates are discussing the best drinks from each country. So she often spends her time in the university or at the bioclub. Back home in Fortaleza, Ceará, she lived in an old two-story building, with a grocery store in the first floor. The beach was only a few blocks away, and at night, she could watch the lights of the Santos-Dumont Space Elevator glittering over the Atlantic Ocean...
Pancho: At home, Pancho spends most of his time swimming freely in the Rio de La Plata river with his pod, ocassionally stopping by the floating Samuhú trees inhabited by local biopunks. When he visits land, he stops by a small “port” in the Defensas (the concrete dams built to “stop” sea level rise during the Climate Change) to put in his mechsuit which enables him to move in land. He roams a lot of time between the various cetacean-friendly pools and establishments in Buenos Aires, but most of his time in the Mariposa Tecnicolor bioclub, where most of his land friends hang out. His dolphin friends make jokes about him for that but he doesn’t care.
The Mariposa Tecnicolor Bioclub: Perhaps the second home for all the character, it is in a vague yet conviently close location for all of them somewhere in one of the first biobuilding barrios built in Buenos Aires during the (20)80s, during the Golden Age of Biopunk. An old Samuhú treebuilding, the main trunk has a coffee shop and a staircase to the various rooms and laboratories growing from its branches, sculpted in wood and with added biomaterial systems such as plumbing and electricity. The main laboratory is a two-story loft near the centre of the tree, connected directly to a greenhouse built out of crystaline leaves, and other, more biosecure laboratories and storage rooms, with (sightly unreliable) bioforges and machinery bought by old state programs or donated by club members. The rest of the rooms, hanging irregulary in oversized branches, have libraries/tech ares, art rooms, cooking rooms, a football-5 field, and a small gym, nowadays more visited than the bioclub itself. It has a pool for visiting dolphins and aquatic creatures, and tiny homes for a community of intelligent coatis and parrots who constantly fight with each other. The tree grows flowers and fruits from species from all over the Americas, and is constantly surrounded by small clouds of rainbow butterflies, the old club’s symbol. Being touched by one in a moment of inspiration is considered good luck.

January Wrap Up | 2019
This month I tried to read as many books as I possibly could because I’m starting my second semester of college and I know that I will not have time. I also really want to try and beat last year’s record of 150 books so I want to stay ahead of how many books I was reading last year. I really succeeded. I read a total of eighteen books which is amazing! A lot of those books were really great as well.
The first book I read of 2019 was Tempests and Slaughter by Tamora Pierce:
Tumblr media
This book started out a little rocky. I didn’t really like how fast we went through Arram’s schooling. Especially because it didn’t feel like the trio really grew that much until the end. But as Arram started to change and start to discover who he is then the story got a lot better. I really liked seeing Arram healing, it really felt like he was in his element and how passionately he works. I wish we got to see more of Varice, I still don’t really understand what a kitchen witch is. Ozorne was interesting but I also feel like I want to see more of him. I don’t know whether I’ll continue on with this series.
Next I read The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami:
Tumblr media
While I enjoyed this book, it wasn’t as good as 1Q84. The most interesting part of this book was the flashbacks to Manchuria and Boris the man skinner. It was horrifying and interesting. Toru wasn’t ask interesting as the other characters in 1Q84 and this book felt a little bit more pointless. However it was still interesting and the ending really saved it. I gave this four out of five stars.
Next I read The Inexplicable Logic of My Life by Benjamin Alire Sáenz:
Tumblr media
I really loved Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe so I decided to read his other books. This book started out a bit rocky. I always get a little annoyed when authors throw in a bit of Spanish to make sure you know your Mexican characters are Mexican. The “No bueno” thing was really annoying. Every book that tries to be feminist, ends up being sexist. However, when the completely heartbreaking stuff started to kick in, I started to really enjoy this book. My favorite character was Fito Fresquez. He had such a tragic story and his sadness felt so real. While I had issues with this book in the beginning it turned out to be a pretty good book. I gave this book five out of five stars.
Then I went back to Haruki Murakami with Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage:
Tumblr media
This book was so good and has the protentional to be one of the best of the year. I related so much to Tsukuru because if I had a group of close friends and they suddenly decided to cut my out of their group, I would have no idea what to do. I also really liked Haida and am sad that there was no closer on what happened to him. What happed to Shiro is crazy and I would never forgive the friends for what she did. I’m sad that we didn’t get to see if Sara accepted Tsukuru but I think she did so there. I gave this book five out of five stars.
Next I randomly picked up The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt:
Tumblr media
This was an interesting book. It reminded me of Name of the Wind and that’s not a bad thing. It has beautiful writing and Theo reminds me a lot of Kvothe he has a serious passion, is border lined obsessed with a girl, and has a tragic backstory with his parents. I think the only thing that I didn’t like was that time jump was a little jarring, I wish that it had been more led in. But I really enjoyed this story. It was just…beautiful. I gave it five out of five stars.
I finally finished Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn Trilogy with The Last Command:
Tumblr media
This book was so amazing. Leia had her twins, Jaina and Jacen, and I cannot wait to see more about them. The ending is what really made this book great. There was a Luke clone which was such a good twist. Then in order for Mara to be free of the Emperor’s control she kills Luuke Skywalker. Very clever. Then Luke gives Mara his lightsaber. That’s so sweet. Such a great ending to this trilogy. Five out of five stars and one of the best of the years.
I continued on with Silver Spoon with Volume 4 by Hiromu Arakawa:
Tumblr media
I really enjoyed this volume! It’s nice to come back to this lighthearted series. I really like seeing more of Hachiken’s family, especially his father. I can’t wait to see more flashbacks of his middle school mental breakdown…does that make me a bad person? Any way, five out of five stars. Fun time.
Next for my YA Literature class I had to read the Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater:
Tumblr media
So I don’t really like the way Stiefvater writes. She usually has really great writing, semi-interesting premises but BORING characters. And this was no different. So borrinnggggggggg! I had to read this book for my YA Literature class and oh my god I was so uninterested in this book. The characters were so dull, I didn’t even bothering learning the side characters name. I didn’t care about the romance. I didn’t care about the world. I was so uninterested in this book. The premise was kind of interesting but it doesn’t save this nothing of a book. I gave this book one out of five stars.
Next I picked up The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman:
Tumblr media
This was an incredibly sad story to read, like all Holocaust stories. The only problem I had with this is that the present day storyline too up a little too much time. I care more about what happened during the Holocaust then Vladek’s marriage problems. But it was still a great story. Five out of five stars.
Then I read An Echo of Things to Come by James Islington:
Tumblr media
I would say that I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed the first one. I wish we could have seen more of Caeden, Davian, Wirr, Kara, and Asha together. At points they would see one another but I really want to see them all interacting. But again Islington is really great at doing dark twists. I think Caeden is my favorite character. Everything with his wife and the shapeshifter. But then at the end of the book when Caeden had killed older Davian. That is so insane! Such a good book. I gave this book five out five stars.
I was in the mood for super sad contemporary after reading Aristotle & Dante and the author’s other books so I bought They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera:
Tumblr media
I didn’t like this book as much as More Happy Than Not. I think it’s because I didn’t really care that much about Mateo and Rufus’s relationship. I teared up a little bit when Mateo died and the ending was pretty good. However, I think the premise of two people falling in love on their final day is really cool, I just think that it wasn’t as powerful. It would be a three star but the ending bumped it up for a four.
Next I picked Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton
Tumblr media
Alright take this review with a grain of salt because I absolutely adore these types of stories. I’ve always had a soft spot for ballet school dramas. I use to love Dance Moms, Bunheads, and this one Australian show that I can find no matter how much I google it. Point being I love ballet stories and I love the dramaz. This book was full of drama. So much romance and backstabbing…or foot stabbing. I gave this book five out of five stars.
After really loving the Goldfinch by Donna Tartt I decided to pick up The Secret History:
Tumblr media
This book slightly missed the mark for me. It was still good, I gave it four out of five stars because I really enjoyed the transition from the friendship between the group of Greek students to then killing Bunny and the aftermath. However, I think after a while when the students are starting the spiral out of control, I stopped caring. Especially Charles, I did not like his transformation. It was very annoying and he was a character that I really liked. So, I’m sad that it missed the mark but it was still a good book.
Next the final book that I had to read for my YA Literature class was Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson:
Tumblr media
I’m not much of a poetry person so I that probably hindered my enjoyment of this book. It was an interesting story about a black girl growing up during the Civil Rights movement in America. It was interesting to see the different places throughout America and her family life. There were a few really great poems, most of them got the point across. I gave this book four out of five stars.
I then continued with the Tiny Pretty Things Duology with Shiny Broken Pieces by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton:
Tumblr media
So I liked this book a little less than I did the first one. This duology is really a guilty pleasure series. I just love it for the drama. I actually think this book handled it’s finale a bit better than a lot of other contemporary books do. I think the one problem I had with it was Cassie and her over the top villainy. Like she is perfectly fine with people potentially dying. I felt like Eleanor got the short end of the stick. She was hospitalized twice in this book for the shit that Gigi and Cassie did. Poor girl. And Cassie does have a good case against Bette because Bette was horrible. So her handling made me not like this book as much. But I felt like the ending really made this book work enough to give it five out of five stars.
Next I read Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami:
Tumblr media
I didn’t really like this book that much. Mostly because I didn’t understand what was going on. Maybe I’ll reread it at some point but right now I could not tell you what the point of this book was. I think I enjoy Murakami’s more realistic stories then he’s completely off the wall stories. That said, he had the beautiful writing, interesting characters, and the world ended so I gave it three out of five stars.
Because I’ve become somewhat obsessed with Japanese literature I picked up Go by Kazuki Kaneshiro:
Tumblr media
I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me a lot of current American YA books, I guess the angst-y teen really is universal. It was a very short book but it covered a lot of stuff about national prejudice between people. It was less than 200 pages but it didn’t feel rushed. It didn’t waste time and gave a really satisfying story about a romance. I highly recommend this book. I gave it five out of five stars.
Finally, I read the Blade of the Immortal Omnibus Vol. 1 by Hiroaki Samura:
Tumblr media
It took me a while to get into this book, mostly because it was hard to remember all the characters and who was who. At one point I thought Machi and Rin were the same person. It was also hard to tell what was flashbacks and what was happening in that moment. But after I got into the story and figured out who was who then I really started to enjoy it. It’s a really interesting story about revenge and I really like the dynamic between Rin and the immortal warrior. I really liked this book and I think I’ll continue on with the story. I gave this book five out of five stars.
Those are all the books I read this month and hopefully next month I can read at least a few books!

“ROMPAN TODO” SOY EL ROCK. BILLY BOND Segunda parte.
2023
