So tonight I was like, let's rewatch AOS's "Inescapable" ep, which was a bad (read: hilarious) idea bc it's LITERALLY a speed-run of all the most absolute batshit insanity that's happened on this show

Daisy Johnson vs. LMD Mace || Agents of Shield Season 4 Episode 15

Thinking about the split moment that May died. Her “guess I’ll see him soon enough” before her head rolled to the side and she breathed her last

Thinking about Daisy who, yes, just lost her mother, but whose mind probably drifted to that very sentence and the truth it could’ve held. May seeing and reuniting with Coulson again. An embrace, a reunion with the man they both love more than life and who they’ve grieved over together, and May got to see him again

And, perhaps, a degree of envy that Daisy wasn’t with her to also see him again—her dad

agents of shield s7 really was a shockingly good conclusion to something I like… like on it’s own it’s a good season but I don’t really realize how highly I think of it overall (it’s not agents of shield s4 who’s praises I’ll sing any day of the week) until I think about how many concluding seasons or books of shows or series I love could have been better if they were more like it in a variety of ways…

The AoS posters for s4 are very funny to me, bc as we all know, s4 was split into 3 arcs: Ghost Rider, LMD, and Agents of HYDRA. Naturally, for flavor, they had 3 separate posters for each arc

Ghost Rider:

This is the smaller version bc the actual one was in very low quality. It's a basic floating head Marvel poster, nothing bad, just nothing spectacular. It does the job just fine

LMD:

I really, REALLY, like this poster. At this point in the show, we're aware that May is the LMD, hence why she is the one highlighted. However, everyone else's faces are covered, kinda like masks, as though they are the real LMDs and May is the only true human. That's not the case, but it plays on the "only one person" trope incredibly well

Also, the way she is portrayed as the odd one out is similar to the plot we get at the end of that arc, "Self Control", where Daisy and Jemma are struggling to get out of the base infested with LMDs. I can't tell if the last face is Fitz or Mace, but they both play vital roles in that episode

And then. Here's Agents of HYDRA

Okay. Again, nothing bad. Floating heads, some text, whatever. But uh, look at the Ghost Rider poster one last time

It's the same poster. It's literally the exact same poster just with the Rider's face on the corner. They hit it out of the park with LMD and then just reused the same one, LMAOOOO

It's like when you're doing a school project and you spend days on this really nice part of it, and then you realize that there's one day left for literally all the rest and you're like "oh fuck" and half-ass it. Same vibes

do you know something I think about all the time. What exactly does LMD Coulson remember? They say he has all of Coulson's memories but the last time Coulson had a brain scan would have been late s4. Meaning LMD Coulson wouldn't remember anything that happened in season 5, right? Except he clearly does know what happened; how does this work? I assume they fed him facts about it but. What does he think about this? What does he feel about not remembering his deal and his death? Considering all the other ruminating he does in s7 I wish they'd put some of this in, but I suspect the writers just forgot

ON SELF CONTROL YES BEST AOS EPISODE. SLAY IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH. CHLOE BENNET AND ELIZABETH HENSTRIDGE FUCKING SLAUGHTER IN THIS EPISODE.

ALSO MELINDA MAY IN THIS EPISODE TOO OMGGGGG. THE SCENE WITH THE BOMBS…ATE DOWN. SLAUGHTERED.
