I want to imagine a collaboration/interdimensional situation where Cyclops meets Superman/Superboy. He is the utmost offended that they can function normally without specialized glasses ("what do you mean those glasses are FAKE for APPEARANCES???")
But then he realizes that his eye-specific powers are more powerful than their eye-specific powers and then he feels a little bit better about it. Not completely, because his ego is a little bruised from this, but a little.

My semester ended some time ago and I’ve got new drawings to share. I’ll try to keep posting until August when the next semester of college starts. For now, this is a headshot of Overlord from Leaving Megalopolis.

best friend of estella carrera and owner of the cozy cone motel, it's ms. holly shiftwell!
Tumblr media
she's mater's swap but takes a bit more of sally's og role. similar to my headcanoned backstory for mater: holley was born into a very well off family in england and ditched that cushy, sheltered high life as soon as she turned 18 -- it wasnt for her! she eventually moved to the americas and found herself breaking down near radiator springs, still in it's hey day when it was still bustling with activity and she's still sticking around long after.
fancy, polished car she may be, she doesn't mind getting her tires dirty if it means helping out! she's still got her talent for gadgets and is mostly booksmart. street smart? not quite.
she's a little pushy and overeager (like sally in canon was) with getting people to book themseleves in the motel these days, even convincing the sherrif to confine some hot pink hotrod that wrecked the town into one of the rooms.

your james potter can, would, and should be loudly announcing “FUCK ME I LOVE KEATS!” while in a sopping wet button up, rowing a canoe, with a wilted cigarette in his mouth

CTF Photonics - CTF-3 Laser Aiming Module
So far it seems very well-constructed. The CNC billet 6065 aluminum body feels solid, the rail clamp is well thought-out, the and the battery caps don't impede button activation as much as I thought they would.
However, getting the bad out of the way first, the adjustment turrets, contrary to my original assumption, do not feature 'clicky' MOA increments - they seem like they've got an internal o-ring somewhere to tension the screws for zeroing adjustment and the marks on the vertical turret are just there as witness marks more than actual adjustments.
Additionally the screws are small and seem easy to strip for how much pressure's needed to turn them. But for they do seem like they'll hold zero no issue once adjusted, for what it's worth.

The unit is incredibly low-profile as you would expect - an IR-only laser diode sits center over bore with what amounts to two independent 300-style scout flashlight bodies sitting saddleback on either side of the top rail. One holds a white light and the other would hold some form of IR illuminator head (B.E. Meyers KIJI, Z-Bolt Blazer, 3EIR Vulcan).
It seems like a good solution for secondary or tertiary builds that you wanna tack NV capabilities onto. Incidentally, due to being so low-profile, it's the perfect MFAL for an AK or other rifles that you can't put excessively tall optic risers on due to the stock being lower than the top of the receiver.
I've ordered a Z-Bolt Blazer Head and will be donating this laser to @bureau-of-mines' AK in trade for a Holosun IRIS-3 or AMMJ Penumbra (depending on whether the former restocks before I make up the additional cash to afford the latter).

For the sake of comparison, here's the CTF-3 without any heads in between a Steiner DBAL D2 and an EG NGAL.
The CTF-3 seems like a large unit, but it's very flat and carries most of its weight in the integral flashlight bodies, which it spreads out nicely. Plus the fact it eliminates a separate white light setup also cuts down greatly on weight.
While I don't recommend this unit for AR15's (given the abundance of better options now), I'd say it still has a niche to fill. Basically, it's a DIR-V that traded the lighter weight and the crane port for superior build quality and sheer modularity. And also not costing $2000 fucking dollars.

FUN VALUE 62: The Eccentric Genius
youtube
Isn't it odd how firsts are seconds? As in, should we consider the order of exposure by FUN value or follower number? Though I suppose goners are not meant to be linear at all. This is why all of the Followers reiterate that central piece of the story, yet, each of them offer an unique perspective that helps us piece together not only Dr. W.D. Gaster's current condition, but who he is as a character.
No, there is no typical way to look at a character who defies the very notion of a written script. To be atypical among the already strange, to fit right in yet feel so obviously alien, the sole lump of hard coal among shiny gems.
It makes sense why ASGORE took so long to hire a new Royal Scientist.
After all, the old one... Dr. Gaster. What an act to follow!
They say he created the CORE.
Coal that burns the most effectively and brings light to all around him, in more ways than one. Impossible only until someone steps forward and makes it possible, to pursue the most absurd of ideas and be stared at with either unease or awe, to make it an act to follow.
From the occasional inconvenient property damage, the unecessarily bulky gadget that looks like it came straight out of a cartoon ...
Tumblr media
... to the grand opening speech nobody got a single word of but applauded for the flashy lights anyway.
However, his life... Was cut short.
One day, he fell into his creation, and...
Will Alphys end up the same way?
This bit can be particularly misleading at first glance, alluding to the idea of an accident or, possibly, a suicide of sorts. We already know how this bit played out, however, the mention of either instance is purposeful in a way the ideas complement each other.
To be special is to be strange, and loneliness is often the price of brilliance. It can be difficult to escape feelings of alienation when people seem to get along so naturally without having to make a conscious effort to understand and be understood. This parallel with Alphys isn't only due to their shared position, but the taxing demand for excellence that comes with it in exchange for belonging.
It wouldn't be a absurd to speculate that, possibly, Alphys would one day have a manic episode that would both be her greatest stunt and her last breath in this earth. Ah, but this is where they deviate, isn't it?
Beloved Dr. Wacky Dingus, too in love with life to leave it, yet never satisfied not to risk it - who continues to offer mystery and wonder, once through light, now through dark.
