thinking about a whumpee on a forced march through rough terrain
hands tied in front of them, on foot while their captors are mounted, sleeping out in the open, forced to beg for adequate food and water
maybe they're barefoot, a captured royal in silken robes
maybe they're in a torn suit or soldier's uniform
maybe they were stripped at the start, increasing the exposure to the elements, the humiliation
are they a terrified mess from the beginning, or do they try to endure with dignity? how long before they're stumbling, barely putting one foot in front of the other? how long before they fall?

i'm also very annoyed about how the symbolism of cassian's character was handled throughout this season. in rogue one and going into season two, the great tragedy of cassian was that he was no one at all -- destined to go unremembered and never live to see the world he gave everything to create. he had been through hell and back not because it had to be that way but because he was brave enough to choose hell in hopes that it might make a better tomorrow. and then he was wiped off the map and the men who destroyed the death star using the plans he stole never knew his name.
according to andor season two, though, cassian was always meant to be on scarif because he's a "messenger." he has lampshaded plot armor until he can die the way he was born to die, because it was always his destiny to make sure those plans made it off that base. also, he is survived by his partner and a child he never knew about, solidifying his legacy. this... is silly. it is beyond noble for cassian to make the willing choice to be forgotten in service of a greater cause. i'm much less compelled if the story is about cassian unintentionally being dragged to his death by fate and then getting remembered as a hero.
#andor spoilers#andor critical#andor s2#cassian andor#also final psa i love this show i really do. the messenger thing was just a huge crazy wild miss for me#also! jyn is the messenger!!! hellloooooo!#someone look me in my eyes and tell me which experience cassian gathered throughout andor that got those plans off scarif#aside from bravery or determination or fierceness or something like that which should be a character trait and not fucking destiny calling?#jyn was the one whose family was hunted to the edges of the galaxy until her mother gifted her a kyber necklace as a memento#the same kyber necklace that brought her to chirrut and baze and that helped get boots on the ground at scarif#jyn was the one whose relationship with saw gerrara allowed the rebels to learn about the death star#jyn was the one whose tenacity thawed cassian's heart and convinced him to rally a force that could take scarif#and the one who inspired rebel leaders to support them there#jyn was the one who was called stardust in youth only to identify the plans like a needle in a haystack because they were named after her#none of the rogue one crew are chosen ones. and this is very important to me#but the messenger concept baffles me because if there WAS a messenger on that crew it was jyn. it was so obviously jyn#i just think making their sacrifice unavoidable cheapens it#cass and k2 and jyn and baze and chirrut and bodhi didn't need to be compelled onto that beach. they went even when they were told not to#because they wanted to help. regardless of if it cost their lives#WHY CANT YOU LET THEM HAVE THAT. GUYS

This is the uniform of supremacy. Every seam, every glint of polished leather, exudes power and control that mere mortals can only dream of submitting to. It is not worn—it is wielded. A second skin that amplifies the authority of the one who commands it, turning every gesture, every step, into a proclamation of dominance.
The whip in my hand? A mere tool—an extension of my will. Its purpose is not just to punish but to remind the weak of their rightful place, to etch into their flesh the truth of their inferiority. Those who kneel before me, trembling and desperate, know they are in the presence of an Alpha who does not entertain defiance, who takes pleasure in breaking and molding lesser beings to his will.
This is not cruelty. It is justice—the natural order made manifest. To the submissive, it is a privilege to even glance at this perfection, let alone feel its weight bearing down upon them. You are nothing. I am everything. And that is the way it shall remain.

Personally I don't think Maxie and Archie are idiots who failed science class. Their plans make sense, to some degree, within the context of the Pokémon world. Their gods are physically present and can be interacted with. Their plans only come apart because in their hubris they thought they could control literal gods. They are fools, yes, but they are certainly not idiots. That's just my opinion.

Some more of my "Reborn in the Pokemon World" AU designs Tokusa and Lenalee this time, they both ended up in Hoenn (eventually in Lenalee's case, she and Komui wound up in the Orre region from the Colosseum games at first, before they moved.)
Tokusa gets a Treeko named "Pixie" because she is a little mischief X) And Lenalee ends up with not one, not two, but THREE little birds XD Natu her first pokemon, Torchic her "starter" given to her by Prof. Birch because Torchic just liked her so much, and Swablu is a gift (cough assigned "Octopi Repellent Duties" cough) from Komui X)

The Cold Metal of Medals: Markers of Achievement and Superiority
The gleam of medals on a uniform is more than a mere decoration—it is a testament to a man’s authority, his accomplishments, and the respect he commands. For the Alpha male, medals are not just tokens of recognition but symbols of his unyielding dominance and superiority. Each medal tells a story, a chapter in the life of a man who has mastered himself, his environment, and those under his command.
This essay delves into the symbolism of medals, their historical significance, and their role in reinforcing the authority and legacy of the Alpha male.
The Historical Legacy of Medals
The tradition of awarding medals dates back to ancient civilizations, where rulers and warriors were recognized for their bravery, leadership, and service. From the Roman Empire’s golden phalerae to the chivalric orders of medieval Europe, medals have always served as tangible representations of excellence and status. In the military traditions of the 19th and 20th centuries, they evolved into formalized symbols of merit, earned through acts of valor, service, and discipline.
For the Alpha male, medals are the modern embodiment of this ancient tradition. Worn proudly on his chest, they speak to his mastery over the challenges he has faced and the victories he has achieved. Each one is a visual declaration of his worthiness to lead.
The Role of Medals in the Alpha’s Command
An Alpha’s uniform is incomplete without the glint of medals on his chest. These awards are not merely ornamental—they are assertions of his dominance, achievements, and unwavering commitment to excellence. For subordinates and observers alike, they are a powerful reminder of the Alpha’s authority.
The Symbolism of Medals:
1. Authority: Medals signify the Alpha’s right to command, earned through proven success and dedication.
2. Superiority: The sheer weight of medals distinguishes the Alpha from his subordinates, marking him as a figure of higher rank and capability.
3. Legacy: Each medal contributes to the Alpha’s enduring legacy, a visual record of his impact and influence.
Medals serve as a bridge between the Alpha’s past achievements and his present authority, cementing his position at the top of the hierarchy.
The Arrangement of Medals: Precision and Order
For the Alpha male, the display of medals on his uniform must reflect the discipline and refinement that define him. Each medal must be polished to perfection, arranged with meticulous precision, and displayed in a manner that amplifies his commanding presence.
The Alpha’s Medal Display:
1. Placement: Medals must be positioned on the left breast of the uniform, arranged in strict order of precedence.
2. Symmetry: The arrangement must be symmetrical, creating a sense of balance and order that mirrors the Alpha’s disciplined character.
3. Polish: Each medal must gleam under the light, a testament to the Alpha’s attention to detail and the respect he commands.
The proper arrangement of medals is not merely a matter of protocol—it is a reflection of the Alpha’s mastery over every aspect of his appearance and demeanor.
The Psychological Impact of Medals
The sight of a chest adorned with medals has a profound psychological effect on both subordinates and observers. It evokes feelings of admiration, respect, and, in some cases, intimidation. For the Alpha, this impact is a crucial aspect of his ability to lead and command.
Psychological Effects:
1. Inspiration: Medals inspire admiration and loyalty among subordinates, serving as a reminder of what is possible under the Alpha’s leadership.
2. Intimidation: The sheer number and prominence of medals can instill a sense of awe and submission in those who stand before the Alpha.
3. Reinforcement of Hierarchy: Medals visually reinforce the structure of authority, leaving no doubt as to who holds the highest rank.
The psychological power of medals lies in their ability to communicate the Alpha’s dominance without the need for words.
Medals as a Reflection of the Alpha’s Legacy
Each medal on an Alpha’s chest is a chapter in the story of his life—a story of challenges faced, victories won, and the unwavering pursuit of excellence. Together, they form a legacy that will endure long after the Alpha has left the field of battle or the halls of power.
Sir Cedric’s Reflections:
“As I pin each medal to my chest, I am reminded of the trials I have faced and the victories I have claimed. These are not mere tokens—they are the marks of a life lived with purpose, discipline, and unyielding authority.
Each medal tells a story, not just of my accomplishments, but of the men and women who have stood with me, who have learned under my command, and who have felt the weight of my gaze. They are reminders of the standards I uphold and the legacy I leave behind.
To those who see these medals, know this: They are not just decorations. They are the proof of my superiority, the evidence of my mastery, and the symbols of my right to lead. Ask yourself—what marks have you earned? What legacy will you leave behind?”
Medals are more than pieces of metal—they are the embodiment of the Alpha’s achievements, authority, and legacy. Worn with pride and precision, they proclaim to the world that this man is not just a leader but a master of his domain. Through these symbols, the Alpha leaves an indelible mark on all who stand in his presence, a mark that will endure for generations to come.
