BYD Prepares to Unveil Budget-Friendly EVs in Indonesia
Tumblr media
PT BYD Motor Indonesia is gearing up to introduce affordable electric vehicles (EVs) tailored for first-time EV buyers in Indonesia. Traditionally recognized as a premium EV brand, BYD now aims to expand its market to include budget-conscious customers. This marks a significant shift for the company, which has been known for its high-end electric offerings. As highlighted by Luther Panjaitan, Head of Marketing & Communication of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, the company is broadening its scope to ensure that electric vehicles are accessible to a wide range of customers, both premium and entry-level, as revealed during an event in Bekasi on October 7, 2024.
A Broader Approach to the EV Market
For years, BYD has been synonymous with premium EVs. The company has enjoyed success with its various EV models, such as the recently launched M6, a multi-purpose electric vehicle. However, BYD is now setting its sights on the entry-level segment, aiming to reach a larger market and make electric mobility more accessible to all. According to Luther Panjaitan, the company's goal is to ensure that it serves all segments of the market, whether premium or budget-conscious. This shift in strategy is crucial as the global EV market expands, with more people seeking affordable yet efficient electric cars.
Key Entry-Level Models: Denza D9 and BYD Seagull
Among the models slated for the Indonesian market are the Denza D9 and the BYD Seagull. The Denza D9 is a luxury electric MPV, packed with high-end features and designed to compete with well-established models like the Toyota Alphard and Lexus LM 350h. Its spacious 2+2+3 seating configuration and luxurious features, such as captain seats with leg rests and a massage function, make it an ideal family car. The Denza D9 also boasts an impressive 103 kWh battery, providing a driving range of up to 620 kilometers on a full charge. With its sizable dimensions—5,250 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,920 mm in height—the Denza D9 positions itself as a formidable competitor in the luxury MPV market.
However, it’s the BYD Seagull, the highly anticipated entry-level EV, that could be a game-changer for the Indonesian market. Designed for budget-conscious consumers, the Seagull offers an affordable option for those looking to make the switch to electric driving. Starting at approximately 69,800 yuan (around IDR 152 million), the Seagull is one of the most affordable electric vehicles in the market. Despite its low cost, the Seagull does not compromise on performance. It is equipped with a 55 kW electric motor that delivers 135 Nm of torque, making it suitable for city driving and short commutes.
Performance and Features of the BYD Seagull
The BYD Seagull is available with two battery options: a 30.08 kWh battery that offers a driving range of up to 305 kilometers (based on WLTP standards), and a 38.88 kWh battery that extends the range to 405 kilometers (CLTC standards). This makes the Seagull an excellent choice for daily commuting and urban driving, where electric cars are particularly advantageous.
Compact and nimble, the Seagull is designed for navigating busy city streets with ease, making it ideal for first-time electric vehicle buyers who need a reliable, cost-effective, and eco-friendly alternative to conventional combustion-engine cars. With its affordable price point and impressive features, the Seagull is poised to make a significant impact in the Indonesian EV market.
BYD’s Commitment to Sustainability and Innovation
As the global demand for electric vehicles continues to rise, Indonesia is emerging as an important market for sustainable transportation. BYD's commitment to green energy and electric mobility is evident in its strategic move to introduce both premium and entry-level models in the country. The introduction of the Seagull could be a pivotal moment for the Indonesian EV market, encouraging more consumers to adopt environmentally friendly vehicles. The company's focus on affordability and sustainability aligns with the broader global trend of reducing reliance on fossil fuels and promoting cleaner energy alternatives.
In addition to entry-level models like the Seagull, BYD is committed to continuing its efforts in the premium electric vehicle segment. The Denza D9, for instance, reflects the company's dedication to providing high-end options for consumers seeking luxury and advanced features. By offering vehicles that cater to both ends of the market spectrum, BYD is well-positioned to capture a significant share of the rapidly growing electric vehicle market in Indonesia.
A Bright Future for Electric Vehicles in Indonesia
With its aggressive plans to introduce a range of electric vehicles to suit different market segments, BYD is set to become a key player in Indonesia's EV market. The company's focus on both premium and entry-level models ensures that it can meet the diverse needs of Indonesian consumers, from those looking for luxury to those seeking affordability.
The BYD Seagull, in particular, holds the potential to revolutionize the local market, offering an affordable, efficient, and environmentally friendly option for first-time electric vehicle buyers. Meanwhile, the Denza D9 provides a luxurious alternative for consumers who prioritize comfort, space, and high-end features. Together, these models represent BYD's commitment to driving the adoption of electric vehicles in Indonesia and contributing to a more sustainable future.
Conclusion
As BYD Motor Indonesia prepares to launch its entry-level electric vehicles, it is clear that the company is making a bold move to capture a larger share of the EV market. By offering a range of models that cater to different segments, from premium to entry-level, BYD is ensuring that electric vehicles are accessible to all. With the anticipated arrival of the BYD Seagull and the luxury Denza D9, the company is poised to make a lasting impact on the Indonesian automotive market. These new models reflect BYD's commitment to sustainability, innovation, and meeting the diverse needs of its customers, setting the stage for a brighter, greener future in Indonesia.

But how much do these luxury vehicles actually cost? In this guide, we'll delve into the world of Lexus car prices, providing you with the information you need to make an informed purchase. Factors Influencing Lexus Car Prices When it comes to determining the price of a Lexus vehicle, several factors come into play. The model of the vehicle, its age, the features it includes, and even where you're buying it can all impact the final price tag. "Understanding these factors can help you make a more informed decision when it comes to purchasing a Lexus vehicle." For a more detailed breakdown of Lexus car prices, check out our guide on Lexus car prices. New vs Used Lexus Car Prices When buying a Lexus, one of the first decisions you'll need to make is whether to buy new or used. Both options have their pros and cons. New Lexus vehicles come with the latest features and technologies, and you'll have the peace of mind of a full manufacturer's warranty. However, they also come with a higher price tag. Used Lexus vehicles, on the other hand, can be much more affordable. They may not have the latest features, but many used Lexus vehicles are still very reliable and luxurious. Plus, buying used can be a great way to get a higher-end model for less. For more information on the pros and cons of buying new vs used, check out our article on car prices in the USA. How to Find the Best Deals on Lexus Cars Finding the best deal on a Lexus car requires some research and negotiation skills. Here are some tips to help you get the best price: Do Your Research: Before you start shopping, spend some time researching the models you're interested in. Understand what features they offer, what their average price range is, and how their value holds up over time. Compare Prices: Don't just go to the first dealership you find.
Compare prices from different dealerships and online platforms to get a sense of what a fair price is. Negotiate: Don't be afraid to negotiate the price. If you've done your research, you should have a good idea of what the car is worth. Don't be afraid to walk away if you're not getting a fair deal. For more tips on getting the best deal when leasing a car, check out our guide on leasing car prices. Online Resources for Lexus Car Prices In today's digital age, there are numerous online resources available to help you research and compare Lexus car prices. These resources can provide you with a wealth of information, including the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price), invoice price, and even the average price paid by other consumers in your area. Here are a few online resources you might find helpful: Lexus Official Website: The official Lexus website is a great place to start your research. You can explore different models, build your own Lexus with the features you want, and see the MSRP for different configurations. Car Buying Websites: Websites like Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and CarGurus provide pricing information for new and used cars, including Lexus vehicles. These sites can also provide information on the vehicle's resale value, reviews, and ratings. Online Marketplaces: Online marketplaces like AutoTrader and Cars.com list Lexus vehicles for sale in your area, providing real-world examples of how much people are asking for these vehicles. Remember, these resources should be used as a starting point. The actual price you pay for a Lexus vehicle can vary based on a number of factors, including the dealership you buy from, the time of year, and even your negotiation skills. Negotiating Lexus Car Prices Once you've done your research and have a good idea of the Lexus model you want and how much it should cost, it's time to negotiate. Negotiating can be intimidating, but it's an important part of the car buying process. Here are a few tips to help you negotiate effectively: Know Your Numbers: Before you start negotiating, know the MSRP, the invoice price, and the average price paid for the Lexus model you're interested in. This will give you a good starting point for negotiations. Don't Be Afraid to Walk Away: If you're not getting the price you want, don't be afraid to walk away. There are plenty of other dealerships and sellers out there. Consider Financing: Sometimes, you can get a better deal by financing through the dealership. However, make sure to compare the dealership's offer to other financing options to ensure you're getting the best deal. Remember, the goal of negotiating is to get a fair price. Don't be afraid to stand your ground and fight for the price you believe is fair. Understanding Lexus Car Leasing Options Leasing a Lexus car is another option you might consider. Leasing can be a great choice if you like to drive the latest models and don't want to worry about resale value. However, it's important to understand how leasing works and how lease prices are determined. When you lease a Lexus car, you're essentially renting it for a set period of time, usually 2-3 years. You'll make monthly payments during this time, and at the end of the lease, you'll return the car to the dealership. Lease prices are determined based on several factors, including the MSRP of the vehicle, the residual value (how much the car is expected to be worth at the end of the lease), the money factor (similar to the interest rate on a loan), and any fees or taxes. Lexus Car Lease Prices Lease prices for Lexus cars can vary widely based on the model, the length of the lease, and your location. For example, a Lexus IS might have a lease price of around $400 per month for a 36-month lease, while a Lexus LX might have a lease price of over $1,000 per month. It's important to understand that the advertised lease price may not include taxes and fees, and it may require a down payment.
Be sure to read the fine print and understand all the costs involved before signing a lease agreement. For more information on leasing a Lexus car, check out our guide on leasing car prices. Tips for Negotiating Lexus Car Lease Prices Just like when buying a car, you can negotiate the price when leasing a Lexus car. Here are a few tips to help you get the best deal: Understand the Numbers: Know the MSRP, the residual value, the money factor, and any fees or taxes. This will give you a good starting point for negotiations. Shop Around: Get quotes from multiple dealerships and compare them. This can give you leverage in negotiations. Negotiate the Cap Cost: The cap cost is similar to the purchase price of the car. The lower the cap cost, the lower your monthly payments will be. Remember, the goal of negotiating is to get a fair deal. Don't be afraid to stand your ground and fight for the price you believe is fair. FAQs Why are Lexus cars so expensive? Lexus cars are considered luxury vehicles, which means they come with a higher price tag than most mainstream brands. The cost is due to a number of factors, including the use of high-quality materials, advanced technology, superior craftsmanship, and the brand's reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction. Is it cheaper to buy or lease a Lexus? Whether it's cheaper to buy or lease a Lexus depends on your individual circumstances. Leasing can often result in lower monthly payments, but you won't own the car at the end of the lease. Buying can be more expensive upfront, but you'll own the car and can sell it later to recoup some of your costs. It's important to consider factors like how long you plan to keep the car and how many miles you drive each year. How much does it cost to maintain a Lexus? The cost of maintaining a Lexus can vary widely depending on the model, the age of the car, and how it's driven. However, Lexus is known for its reliability, which can help keep maintenance costs down. Regular maintenance tasks like oil changes and tire rotations are relatively inexpensive, but costs can add up if major repairs are needed. Can I negotiate the price of a Lexus? Yes, you can definitely negotiate the price of a Lexus, whether you're buying or leasing. It's important to do your research ahead of time so you know what a fair price is for the model you're interested in. Don't be afraid to walk away if a dealership isn't willing to negotiate. Are Lexus cars worth the price? Many people believe that Lexus cars are worth the price due to their high quality, reliability, and luxury features. However, whether a Lexus is worth the price to you will depend on your personal preferences and budget. It's important to test drive a few models and do your research to ensure you're making a decision that's right for you. #Wiack #Car #CarInsurance #CarRental #CarPrice #AutoLoans

Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition
Peugeot 208
Porsche Taycan
Skoda Scala
Superb
Toyota Corolla Touring Sports

Story Lines:
Fast Freddie:
Two time Formula 1 Champion Fernando Alonso joins with the Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi-V.r with fellow former F1 driver Kamui Kobyashi and WTR full season drivers Jordan Taylor and Renger van der Zande.   This is the second Daytona 24 for Alonso.
Zanardi:
A legend returns to North America.  Overshadowing Alonso is the return of Alex Zanardi to headline his first North American race since he lost both his legs in a crash in 2001.  Zanardi’s car uses a steering wheel with hand levers to control throttle and braking on his Team RLL #24 BMW M8 GTE. All Female Team:
Meyer Shank Racing will field the #57 Acura NSX GT3 with an all female driver lineup made up of Katherine Legge, Simona De Silvestro, Bia Figueiredo and Christina Nielsen.  Legge will continue with the Meyer Shank team for the remainder of the WeatherTech season.
Joest Do It:
The 2019 Daytona 24 Hours marks 40 years since Mazda debuted at Daytona, a race they won the first time out. The Mazda Team Joest entries look strong this year as Oliver Jarvis claimed the first pole position (1m33.685s) for the Mazda Daytona Prototype since it entered the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Jarvis's time was the fastest ever sportscar lap around the Daytona International Speedway, eclipsing the 1m33.875s record set by PJ Jones in an Eagle-Toyota MkIII in 1993.  This could be the start of Joest dominance that hasn’t occurred since the Audi Team Joest dominated sports car racing in the 2000s.

2019 Lexus RC F GT3 Engine, Exterior and Performance
2019 Lexus RC F GT3 Engine, Exterior and Performance – Organized to compete in the U.S. GTD Class from your IMSA WeatherTech Tournament, along with the GT300 Course the Very GT Series within The far east. It is motivated having a 5.4-liter V-8 (.4-liters bigger than that of the freeway heading RC F), which is believed to source 500 horsepower by way of a 6-pace sequential car auto racing sending. In the event, the successes of all of the GT500 is virtually any sign. For the time being, we understand which 3GT Auto car racing crew in the U.S. will surely placement the GT3 for your check at the WeatherTech Tournament as the LM Corsa staff is going to be fielding two types of the automobile inside the Very GT Series. 2019 Lexus RC F GT3 Redesign
Equaled towards the GT500, the latest Radio controlled F GT3 is a touch a lot more through the appears from the coupe it is founded on. Of course, this spindle grille continues to be there, but the barbecue grill used in the GT 3 provides the very same proportions with this on the streets going coupe. The greater atmosphere dam lower below remains safe and secure by proper mesh but shows up practical, as well as the two most important added winglets put on the edges from the fascia to complement that of all the splitter down beneath. Each of the hood by itself includes two excellent cooling lower activities, while several protrusions in the front fender flares must support upper air within the entire body package and towards the back end of the automobile. The front lights are clean, in addition to recessed into the body, but are helpful.
About rear, you will see that the particular GT3 has the very same general outside outdoor patio deal with and also the same taillights, but from that, it is a whole new meet up back once more here. A huge spoiler is situated on top of the back outdoor outdoor patio that plainly provides sufficient downforce and helps to offer the vehicle an enormous look. Right straight down beneath the back fascia hosts a massive occasion at every single location along with an entire type of air vents towards the bottom, just over that huge, 4-wing diffuser/extractor. All informed it appears very suitable for virtually any competitors automobile and also keeps real to its freeway-going style.

Our 10 favorite cars from the 2017 New York International Auto Show
Every year, thousands of cars get hauled into the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City for the New York Auto Show, one of the biggest events in the automotive industry. Manufacturers come from around the globe to show off their shiny new toys, premiere new models, and flaunt off-the-wall concepts that you may never see on the street.
And while there are always plenty of rank-and-file whips at the show, we wanted to highlight a few of the phenomenal models and metal marvels that have to be seen to be believed. For those who couldn't make it (or hate big crowds), we did all of the leg work for you.
Here are 10 beautiful supercars that caught our eye at the 2017 New York Auto Show.
Our 10 favorite cars from the 2017 New York International Auto Show

Brian Riley
1. Ford GT
The exotic vehicle in Ford's lineup has made its dramatic return, and in 2017 it’s ready for production. With this new model, Ford clearly looked to the 2005-2006 edition, which still enjoys a cult-like following among muscle-car fans and speed freaks alike. The main difference? This one gets its muscle from a 3.5-liter, 647-hp EcoBoost V6 instead of its 5.4-liter, 550-hp V8 predecessor.
Ford has only approved 500 lucky people to purchase the $450,000 supercar, according to Car and Driver, so you may just have to hit up your rich uncle if you ever want to see—let alone drive—one.
  Christopher Uribe
2. Dodge Challenger SRT Demon
Back in 2015, we thought Dodge had outdone itself with the 700-hp Hellcat model. This time around, Dodge is doubling down on its horses with an 840-hp rendition priced below $100K. Billed as "The World's Fastest Car"—unsurprisingly—the Demon can go 0-60 in a painfully fast 2.3 seconds—a fact that comes in handy in The Fate of the Furious, in which the Demon burns plenty of rubber.

3. Jaguar F-Type
The Jaguar F-type has been one of the hands-down sexiest sport coupes on the market for a few years now. The exterior is only slightly different than in years past, and we're perfectly OK with that. This year, though, what caught our eye is that Jaguar will be adding a four-cylinder, 296-hp variant to already hefty 375-hp and 550-hp models. The four-cylinder model will be priced below $60k, making it significantly more accessible to the driving public than the other models priced at around $80k.
Brian Riley
4. Audi R8 LMS GT4
Let’s face it: We've all been in love with the Audi R8 ever since we saw Tony Stark flaunting his in Ironman. And while this specific model was built with the racetrack in mind—the GT, GT3, and GT4 races are often billed as more accessible compared to Formula 1 or NASCAR—the car still shares 60% of its parts with the factory R8 model, one part being Audi's vaunted V10 engine.
Brian Riley
5. Lexus RCF GT3
Lexus brought its race-ready car to the show this year as well. The GT3 unequivically is the brand’s statement car: Manufactured with a carbon-fiber hood, roof, and spoiler, it's 1,000 lbs lighter than the production RCF.
Christopher Uribe
6. Mercedes-AMG GT R
Mercedes-Benz usually aims for luxuriousness and understated sporty characteristics, but the brand's typical aesthetic went completely out the window with this Hulk-green GTR co-engineered with AMG. Nicknamed the "Beast of the Green Hell," this 577-hp Benz also features rear-wheel steering and wheels angled 1.5°, which makes a huge difference in the monster's track handling.
Christopher Uribe
7. Acura NSX GT3
Over the past several decades, Acura has brought home racing titles from the IMSA Camel Lights and the LeMans championships. Now, the brand is getting back to its racing roots with the NSX GT3. Although this track rendition may look out of this world, it still has the same engine as the production NSX. The vehicle's intensely low and wide stance, combined with its stunning paint job, make it an absolute standout.
Christopher Uribe
8. Koenigsegg Agera RS ‘RS1’
Anytime a car has 1,360 hp, it should make every car guy's wish list. Making its debut at the New York Auto Show, this hand-built monstrosity only weighs 3,075 lbs, and can hit 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds. (Oh, and yes: The roof is removable, for an instant open-top experience.) The highly anticipated Agera sold out quickly after it was revealed last year, and the brand should be finishing up deliveries this year.
Christopher Uribe
9. Rimac Concept_One
Staged in the same booth as brands like Bugatti, Koenigsegg, and Lamborghini, the 1,224-horsepower Rimac Concept_One was almost easy to overlook. But ignore this four-wheeled thunderbolt at your peril: This year's edition of the all-electric supercar steps things up with a bigger, stronger battery built to go head-to-head with gas-powered Bugatti Veyron. And contrary to what you might expect from a car with such outstanding performance marks—a top speed of 220 mph and 1,180 foot-pounds of torque—the Concept_One is actually a production car that will be going on sale around the world.
Brian Riley
10. Modified Lamborghini Huracán
There's something about a Lamborghini that just ensares your attention. This particular model was hiding on the lower level of the show, featuring a ton of performance and visual upgrades that amp up its already attention-grabbing looks.
And, well, consider this: Coming in at about $200k, the Huracán is one of the brand's more “affordable” models.
