More significant Investigation on Call boy's everyday work-out: Call boy jobs around India
A healthy eating routine is important for everyone, no matter how they live their lives. It's even more important for people who live busy and active lives, like a playboy who asks for a shorter work week. A diet that is both healthy and well-balanced improves overall performance and mental clarity. While fostering a working day smart dieting plan for a playboy, it is vital to find some kind of harmony between taste, some type of solace, and significant advantage. A playboy in a hurry needs to eat a healthy breakfast because it gets them ready for a productive day. Consider having a substantial breakfast that includes a healthy combination of solid fats, lean proteins, and complex sugars. An incredible decision could be made with new ordinary food varieties like cut bananas and berries, which give a rich wellspring of fibre, improvements, and cell strength. Add some nuts or seeds to your grain for a delicious crunch and potent fats that make you feel fuller for longer and give you more energy throughout the day. callboy job.
To guarantee a reasonable function, consolidate a protein source into your morning dinner. This can be accomplished by placing bubbled eggs or Greek yoghurt close to the oats. Greek yoghurt not only has a lot of protein in it, but it also has probiotics that help bacteria grow and die. Sunk eggs naturally contain essential amino acids for muscle maintenance and repair. For those searching for a plant-based other option, a tofu and vegetable scramble can be a tasty and protein-rich choice. Amidst a clamouring typical working day, immediately in the day snacks expect a fundamental part in extra mindfulness of energy levels and impeding the enticement of miserable food decisions. Choose small, nutrient-packed bites that are nutritious. In a small serving, mixed nuts like almonds, pecans, and pistachios provide the majority of omega-3 unsaturated fats and cell strongholds. A unique fruit or vegetable, like an apple or a lot of grapes, can be paired with the nuts to improve stomach health and provide common pleasure. call boy job.
For faster daytime combat and improved mental health, think about making a small serving of weak chocolate into a nibble. The dull chocolate's flavonoids, caffeine, and theobromine all aid in enhancing mental capacity and perspective. Regardless, moderation is essential due to the possibility of consuming an excessive amount of calories. Vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins should all be included in a balanced lunch. Barbecued chicken or tofu salad, various greens, chime peppers, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers can all provide a filling and nutritious meal. When an entire grain is combined with quinoa or generously tinted rice, complex sugars, fibre, and additional protein are added. In a bespoke vinaigrette, sprinkle olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a few flavours over the serving of leafy greens for an explosion of flavour without compromising health. call boy service.
A wrap made of entire grains, lean protein like turkey or hummus, and various vegetables is a decent and simple choice for individuals who need something else for lunch. Whole grain wraps are a respectable wellspring of fibre, further creating stomach-related prosperity and staying aware of energy. When given hummus, cut carrots, celery sticks, or cherry tomatoes give a great crunch and lift the improvement content. In the early evening, when energy levels may drop, an incredible and nutritious body can revive the body and the brain. Make a protein-rich choice to help energy all through the rest of the overall typical working day. Sweet cravings are satisfied, protein and healthy fats are delivered, and chia seeds and honey are sprinkled on top of Greek yoghurt. Naturally, a rehydrating and supplement-rich option is a protein smoothie made with common ingredients like spinach, protein powder, and almond milk. Hydration is sometimes overlooked despite its central role in overall prosperity and well-being. Focus on drinking water over the course of the day to remain hydrated. call boy job salary. It is possible to combine average teas, such as peppermint or green tea, for enhanced flavour and potential clinical benefits. Instead of sweet beverages, choose water or unsweetened standard teas to maintain ideal hydration levels without the empty calories associated with sweet rewards. As the workday continues into the night, dinner ought to be a sensible and filling meal that keeps recuperation going and gets the body ready for sleep. Salmon prepared on the barbecue is a good source of protein and omega-3 unsaturated fats and can serve as the focal point of a grand event. For a satisfying and substantial meal, select the salmon and serve it with stewed sweet potatoes and broccoli. There is a lot of complexity in sweet potatoes. carbs, supplements, and fibre, and broccoli is a decent wellspring of significant micronutrients. A hearty vegetarian meal that is rich in protein and delicious is a chickpea and vegetable curry served over coarse rice or quinoa. In addition to chickpeas, which are an important plant protein source, the curry contains a variety of vegetables. call boy job part time

do you have any new recipes that you've learned recently? i remember you wrote something a while ago about carbonara and i tried it out for myself it was really fun!!
i love this 😭 im gonna write way too much idec! something that has changed since that post: my kitchen is worse. i have a horrible combi oven which has resulted in me accidentally eating raw chicken, because it had been in there for more than 2 hours at supposedly 230 °C and i was really hungry and thought it HAD to be done by then. also i have less time and less money lol. it has made me a bit sad, and less motivated to cook nice things but i also love food! which means these tips/recipes are gonna reflect that and might seem a bit dull but probably also relatable for a lot of people. i’ve definitely made spaghetti carbonara a bit too much because it’s simple and require few ingredients! will still vouch for that one tip about substituting the bacon with roasted veggies and other types of meat.
last week i made risotto for the very first time, i think? which means i might be assuming a bit too much, but i think it’s a great dish that you can almost make with whatever you have in your fridge. i made it with roasted beetroot(needs A LOT of time to soften, lesson learned), carrots and parsley root or parsnip(idk the difference), dried rosemary and thyme, garlic and onion. i had some leftover sushi rice, which is great for risotto apparently(love versatile ingredients), roasted them in some oil and then added white wine and chicken stock and actually added a leftover parmesan rind i had in the fridge to give the ‘stock’ some flavour, a bit of nutmeg and then in the end some shredded gouda lol… it was surprisingly delicious and i didn’t even really care to cook the rice perfectly. it also tasted delicious 3 days later, which was a nice surprise. i bet there are tons of risotto recipes online, but as long as you have rice, some kind of flavoured water, i guess you could kind of add whatever you want of veggies and top with whatever herb you have around.
another type of porridge i consume a lot these days is hot oat porridge, which i’ve eaten since i was little and it was the first ‘dish’ i learnt to make myself and it’s cheap. some people really dislike the consistency and look but i don’t. it’s also very easy to customise. i put in whatever nuts and seeds(which are often cheaper than nuts) i have around: flaxseed, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chopped almonds and sometimes a dollop of peanut butter. i let them simmer along with the oats. i like adding those elements because it gives it some texture and it keeps me more full throughout the day. it’s very important to me because i hate spending money i don’t have on fast-food when i’m not home and i hate being hungry. dried raisins, cranberries for a bit of sweetness and if i’m treating myself i’ll add some fresh apples cut into small pieces or some homemade berry compote(i use frozen) or brown sugar. if i had more money i’d use maple syrup but i don’t at the moment. i also add a bit of cinnamon and cardamom, dried ginger etc, whatever you feel like. some people also add milk afterwards but i’d rather spend my milk on my coffee.
a small tip: making chili flake / garlic oil. it’s really delicious, you could put it straight on pasta with some parmesan and pepper and it would be a filling meal. either chop the garlic really fine, grate it, microplane it, smash it to pieces. heat some olive oil until it’s quite hot, then remove from heat and add the chili flakes and garlic. if the oil isn’t hot enough you can just put the pan or pot back on the heat but be careful you don’t burn the chili flakes or garlic, as it will make it bitter. the longer it will toast, the less pronounced the raw garlic flavour will be, so when it smells toasted enough for your taste, take it off. i store it in a tiny glass jar and add it in stews, sauces, toasts, pizza, sandwiches etc. the flavour is very strong imo and everything it touches will smell like it. something to drink: i like strong foods and i like sour foods, which is why i like lemon/ginger based drinks. to make it even more winter friendly and easy to make, i like to grate unpeeled ginger(i hate slices of ginger, they do nothing for me and seems like a waste of ginger), lemon zest, lemon juice and mix it or blend it with some water/apple juice and honey and strain it afterwards. if you have a really nice blender you can just add all of it together with some ice. i’m basically making a large amount of ginger shot mixture. then when i feel like it, i can take some of the mixture and either drink it as it is, add more apple juice if i need a refreshing beverage or add hot water and more honey for when im cold. you could also add turmeric, chili, use less sweetener and other sorts of healthy stuff but i honestly do it for the taste so i don’t care about that that much.
something sweet: i posted earlier about cakes and someone mentioned swedish kladdkaka, which is a super delicious, cheap, brownie-like chocolate cake that is easily customized and hard to fuck up which is why i’ve made it since i was very young and is a go-to and i didn’t even know it was a swedish thing. if you like airy, light cakes this is not for your. this is sticky, sweet and almost like confection. you can add nuts, swirls of peanutbutter, tahini, actual pieces of chocolate, replace the white sugar with brown sugar, the butter with oil(you can be fancy and use a bit of olive oil) or use a mixture, brown the butter, you name it. the recipe i use is this: melt 100 g butter and let cool. mix 2 eggs + 3 dl sugar in a bowl until fluffy in one bowl. mix 1.5 dl flour, 4 tbs cocoa, 1 pinch of salt in another. mix the dry with the wet mixture and add the cooled, melted butter. this is the point where you’d add chopped nuts, chocolate etc. pour the batter into a cake tin lined with parchment (i use one that is 16 cm in diameters i think). bake the cake for around 30 mins at 150°C - 175°C degrees. check on the cake using a cake tester or a a knife. if the knife is clean after … stabbing it, it’s done! the cake will change it’s texture after cooling. this is a cheap cake, and if you like cake dough you might want to give it less time in the oven for a more fudgey texture. make it your own! there are no rules. last time i made this, i left it in for too long in my opinion but it was still delicious. also i literally have a shit oven with a round oven rack that goes in circles no matter what due to the microwave function, and the only ‘mixing’ equipment i have is a whisk and a spatula. no need for kitchen aids or even electrical hand mixers.
something else i’ve been eating a lot for lunch is simple open faced sandwiches, and something that can really elevate those is: making your own mayonnaise(and toasting the bread). it can be challenging, but it’s really worth it imo and i can’t remember the last time i bought it in a store. i have a small plastic bowl, whisk and 1 egg yolk. something i can really recommend is buying pour snouts for bottles. i transfer my oils from their plastic bottles to smaller, old soda bottles because im cheesy like that and it’s really handy especially when making mayo. constantly whisking the egg yolk by hand and then adding the NEUTRAL oil ever so slowly. don’t be fancy and use cold pressed stuff or extra virgin olive oil because it will taste weird. i only ever fail when i try to use immersion blenders for some weird reason but i find it rewarding to do by hand anyways and i think it might be easier to make smaller portions that way. mayo needs acid and you can get it by adding regular vinegar, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, lime juice, pickle juice, citric acid dissolved in water etc. it’s really easy to customise! when im making banh mi, i add some sesame oil, soy sauce for saltiness and use lime as the acidic element. for more regular use i add a bit of mustard(also helps with the emulsion), for fries, i like adding some fresh garlic. something as simple as mayo, tomatoes, flaky salt and pepper topped with chives is really nice. i also really like using slices of boiled potatoes or boiled eggs(idk if that’s only a thing where i’m from), mayo and the chili garlic oil. it’s also great for making tuna salad. yesterday i made a really simple sandwich with a very simple tuna salad(tuna, mayo, yoghurt, lemon and pepper), arugula, basil, the garlic/chili oil, cream cheese, pickled jalapeños and onions, green peber, cucumber and tomatoes. you could leave out everything but the tuna salad and it would still be a great little meal.
another nice condiment that beats the supermarket stuff by far is homemade ‘pesto’. when i buy parsley from my local grocery store, it’s a gigantic amount that i in no way can consume in a week. first of all when buying fresh herbs i really recommend washing them, wrapping them in a damp towel and keeping them in a closed container. it will prolong their lifetime from lasting a day to a week(change the towel if it seems too wet). i once had some cilantro in my fridge for several weeks and still be fresh. anyways, when i buy that much parsley, i like to remove the tougher parts of the stem(which i use in stews/sauces! chop it up and sautee it along with garlic and onion), add literally just olive oil, water, pepper, garlic, and a bit of acid and then blend away! it keeps for a long time in the fridge and is also delicious beneath tomatoes/potatoes/cheese on open-faced sandwiches. if you want to be fancy you can of course add some type of hard cheese, nuts, seeds, dried tomatoes, whatever.
i know this is the longest text post ever, but as a last reminder, i really recommend watching pasta grannies on youtube. really simple recipes with focus on few, good ingredients that just takes some time and love.

DAYS 50 - 56

DAY FIFTY
6:25 AM - Up an at ‘em. It’s vaccine day! The State Farm Stadium is 30 minutes away from my house and I kind of have a history of feeling light-headed and such so I eat a piece of toast before we leave. Prep our water bottles and coffee in our respective hydroflasks and we’re out the door.
7:25 AM - We arrive to the stadium and go through a slew of checkpoints. Unfortunately because of the storms they aren’t giving out plus ones today so we will try for K again when I get my second. The process is pretty easy and we are out of there in 30 minutes. I get the Pfizer vaccine. :)
8:30 AM - K and I take a walk since I still have some time before work starts.
10:00 AM - Today is going to be super easy workwise so I just kind of take my time easing into it. I start to feel some tingles from the shot as well as arm soreness. Nothing I can’t handle though!
12:00 PM - Annual charge for my recipe plugin comes through for my blog. Heat up broccoli fried rice for lunch. $49.00
2:00 PM - My arm is starting to hurt but nothing I can’t handle. Eat pretzels.
4:00 PM - Ditch work early to take a walk to the lake. Bring wine in a hydroflask to just sit and enjoy the weather. I chat with T on the way and then FaceTime with H who says he’s moving to Philly. Super bummed honestly. DJing with him is one of my favorite things on this planet.
6:00 PM - Arrive home to find a sleepy K. My arm is really hurting at this point and we decide to take a nap.
7:30 PM - Wake up feeling groggy and in pain. Remember they advised drinking water before taking Tylenol so I down 48 ounces and actually start to feel better. Heat up a Big Sur Breakfast burrito for dinner and K and I watch the first 30 minutes of Uncut Gems. K’s brother hits him up to play RocketLeague and so he breaks away to that and I watch more of The Challenge.
11:30 PM - I am tired of being awake and would just rather be asleep.
DAY FIFTY TOTAL: $49.00
DAY FIFTY-ONE
8:30 AM - Wake up feeling like my body has been doing work to fight something, but without any external symptoms (fever, chills, fatigue) minus my sore arm. Continue hydrating and make a chemex.
9:00 AM - I can’t really work on the trim today as planned because of my arm, so I decide to work on my blog instead.
11:00 AM - Make pancakes and hashbrowns for breakfast.
2:30 PM - Post a recipe for Greek Salad. The Internet seems to be receptive which is nice… my last few recipes have flopped. Finish The Ruins. Actually bummed Sara & KellyAnne didn’t win. Evan, Kenny, and Johnny suck and needs to rot in hell. Make a giant bowl of popcorn.
5:00 PM - Drop off a ball and a tube to a friend who is starting to take Pure Barre classes again. Walk back and then K and I walk to the lake with the dog. Feels like the best thing we’ve done all day tbh. My arm still hurts too much to exercise so this is the best it’s gonna get.
7:45 PM - Arrive home and roast potatoes for buffalo chicken sandwiches. I’ll definitely be shooting this for the blog.
8:00 PM - It’s one of those nights where I already did everything and I’m tired of screens. I reached out to a friend a few days ago for book recs and I pick one from the list called The Guest List. Buy it on kindle. $16.40
9:30 PM - I’m already ready to start a new season of The Challenge. This one is Fresh Meat II. Can’t believe Darrell gets eliminated on the first episode. Dang.
10:45 PM - K and I decide we’re tired and that it’s time for beddie. My body is definitely ready for sleep.
DAY FIFTY-ONE TOTAL: $16.40
DAY FIFTY-TWO
8:30 AM - Wake up feeling pretty rested. Definitely a lot better today. Arm is mildly sore. Might be able to ride the bike or play DDR today. Maybe modify Pure Barre but probably not. Take a shower for the first time since Thursday because I usually shower after I exercise and that hasn’t happened in a while… hah.
9:00 AM - My kettle has been here for a few days but I haven’t broken it out of the shed yet. Unbox the beauty, give it a little rinse and make my first cup of coffee. I like how quiet it is and how little space it takes up. 10/10.
10:15 AM - I notice I still have a half block of tofu leftover so I make tofu/egg tacos for breakfast with Field Roast Sausage, mushrooms, onions, and jalapenos.
11:15 AM - Clean the kitchen and prep for shooting. I am feelin’ the vibes from my last post so I don’t want to lose motivation. Make miso butter pasta since it’s really all I can swing with the ingredients in my pantry.
1:15 PM - Finish shooting and import the photos into my library while watching The Challenge in the background. Decide might as well start editing. I don’t have much else going on and I’m again, feeling motivated.
4:30 PM - K goes on a drive and I decide to play DDR. My arm is not ready for barre but it can dangle a bit while I stomp on some arrows. I decide I really want to learn Afronova on heavy which is something I never was really able to pass consistently in my youth. It’ll be a good thing to work toward over the next few weeks.
5:30 PM - Pour a glass of wine and hop on zoom with K’s family. It’s nice to see them.
7:30 PM - Make buffalo chicken sandwiches for dinner with potatoes.
9:00 PM - Walk to the lake with K.
12:00 AM - Finish my entire post for miso butter noodles. I don’t think I’ve ever shot and posted something in the same day. Exhausting! Hah
DAY FIFTY-TWO TOTAL: $0
DAY FIFTY-THREE
8:00 AM - Pure barre charge. Make a chemex. And eat half a bagel with earth balance and nooch for breakfast. Also get charged for my automatic payment to Amazon for iron pills $27.93
9:00 AM - Today is my officemate’s birthday. My boss and I pitched in to get her a Lululemon gift card. $35
12:00 PM - Leftover miso butter noodles for lunch with air-fried broccoli.
5:00 PM - Today was honestly exhausting but I am ready to move. Play a few games of DDR and then do a barre class.
7:00 PM - Rinse off and make the last of the buffalo chicken sandwiches. We’re very excited for groceries tomorrow hah.
9:30 PM - Buy a phone tripod. I suck at doing videos one-handed and I know I can grow my pages like bananas if I can actually shoot the content correctly. I apply the gift card my boss got me for building her website so this is on the house.
DAY FIFTY-THREE TOTAL: $62.93
DAY FIFTY-FOUR
7:00 PM - Long ass day. Groceries are slated to arrive. Incoming of bell peppers, tomatoes, grapes, tofu, cucumber, broccoli, red onion, limes, lemons, bananas, jalapenos, serranos, clementines, bread, chickpeas, tortilla chips, tortillas, sprouts, potatoes, baby carrots, onions, salsa, cauliflower rice, cilantro, gf mini pretzels, apples, hashbrowns, oat milk, cheese, vegan cheese, brown rice, white rice, gf pasta, spring mix, romaine, tomato paste, dark chocolate, red wine and balsamic vinegar, pineapple, scallions, oregano, shallots, mushrooms, orzo, kale, chipotle peppers, eggs, brown sugar, burger buns, corn, parsley, veggie straws, vanilla bean, asparagus, snap peas, a pound of coffee, plant sausage, plant yogurt, zucchini, radish, cabbage, seltzer, plant yogurt, pasta sauce, plant pizza, jelly, and mustard. $350.86
8:00 PM - Eat red lentil pasta for dinner.
DAY FIFTY-FOUR TOTAL: $350.86
DAY FIFTY-FIVE
1:00 PM - Done with meetings for the day. My brain hurts. Hah make salad (bbq chicken, spring mix, carrots, bell pepper, onion, corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, and ranch is the combo for the week), drink seltzer, tryyyy to calm down.
3:40 PM - Actually hoping no one bothers me for the rest of the day. Change into workout clothes and sneak in my last barre class for the challenge.
6:00 PM - Get charged for CBS all access. Craving a cocktail instead of wine. Pick some grapefruits from the backyard, text J to ask how to salt a rim, then make a grapefruit + mezcal drink with a chili-lime salted rim. YUM. $6.48
7:00 PM - Veggie sandwiches with potatoes is the name of dinner for the next few days. So good!
DAY FIFTY-FIVE TOTAL: $6.48
DAY FIFTY-SIX
8:30 AM - Make a chemex and “get to work.” Today is super slow. I finish the last of my outstanding tasks, make 2 batches of chex mix which I regret because K says he won’t be eating any since he’s trying to avoid salt. Snack on that and then make salad for lunch.
1:30 PM - Literally no one has pinged me so I take the opportunity to play some DDR. I play for nearly an hour before anyone bothers me and nail down the steps to this one section of Afronova at ⅕ the speed. I’ll try ⅖ tomorrow!
5:30 PM - K and I are both starving so I make us dinner early today. Drink a grapefruit + mezcal cocktail after din.
8:30 PM - K asks if I’ll walk to the lake with him and the dog. I kind of don’t want to since I played my heart out already but he asks pleeeassse and I oblige. The walk is really really nice. We even sit near the waterfront for a while watching people do this cheesy skate routine.
10:30 PM - Make it back. I work on my blog in K’s office while he edits video stuff. I have The Challenge on in the background and finish Fresh Meat II. Only 11 more seasons before I can cancel my membership! Hah.
DAY FIFTY-SIX TOTAL: $0

This Month On The Farm: October 2020

Our first snow has arrived!! Ok, so it was only about an inch, but, nonetheless, it arrived on the second to the last day of October. And with it came some significantly colder weather including our first below 30 degree night.
While the majority of our summer garden ended in September, we were the happy recipients of additional garden goodness throughout October in the form of cabbage, broccoli, green beans, squash, beets, carrots, peppers, tomatoes (the first half of the month), and herbs. Needless to say, our freezers are chock full.

Garden Wins And Fails
Let's start with the fails and get those right out of the way. Eggplant, for some reason, did not do well for me this year. I've never ever had an issue with it but 2020 was no ordinary year. Cucumbers, too, did not produce well for some reason. I've always struggled with melons, and this year, of course, was no different. They did ok, not great. And, of course, because of the early-on visits by the whistle pig (with the enormous appetite) who adored all things green, we had a rough start with greens, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and carrots. Many eventually came back and others were replanted.
And the wins...... My peppers did outstanding this year as did my squash, tomatoes, beans, peas, sweet potatoes, and pretty much everything else in the garden. Partial credit, I'm sure, goes to the soil that we continue to amend. Partial credit also goes to the fact that I had time to weed, pick bugs, water, and do all of the things that make a garden happy.
On October 30th, the night temps dipped into the 20's, so I pulled of all remaining veg except for greens (kale, chard, arugula, mustard, and loose leaf lettuce). I've left them growing but we did not get our tunnel made for the raised bed they are in so, unfortunately, I don't think they'll last long with just a cloth row cover.

Oliver & Jackson
Well, back to the specialty veterinary clinic we go.....
Poor Ollie has been having some issues, come to find out he has multiple herniated discs. He is doing well and it's nice to know what we're dealing with instead of guessing. Initially we all thought (us and his neurologist) that he may have a brain tumor like Emerson as well, but it was ruled out with an MRI (thankfully!).

And then there's Jack. Wouldn't you know that Mr. Jackson has a heart murmur, discovered at his annual check-up, and is now scheduled to see a cardiologist? That guy must have been jealous that Oliver got to travel to see specialists...... Unfortunately they are booked until February, so as long as he doesn't show any signs of distress, he will go at that time (they will get him in as an emergency if need be).
We expected this would likely come at some point as one of his litter mates has had some heart issues for a few years and is now on medications to keep it under control. So, Jack will, at the very least, have annual appointments with a cardiologist to keep an eye on his heart. And in case you're wondering, no, his heart murmur does not stop him from harassing Oliver or biting our toes at night.
Some things will never change.

delicious apple cake
In The Kitchen
We haven't been out to eat or purchased food to-go since February so our kitchen stays quite busy. Breakfasts remain fairly simple although I did make Cinnamon Swirl Bread and Blueberry Scones this month, just because. For lunch we didn't make the switch to soups because of the moderate temps. Instead, we continued to use the outdoor grill, make quick sandwiches or salads, and of course enjoy leftovers.
Dinners were fairly standard since we've been busy with our soap business. I did try this recipe for Chicken Fajita Rice for Jay and he loved it.
For dessert I tried this Apple Cake recipe and it is soooooo good. As I've noted before, we very rarely use processed sugar, however, we do make exceptions from time-to-time and this cake is worth it. I did cut the brown sugar used in the actual cake batter in half because I knew it would be way too sweet for us. It was still definitely more then plenty sweet in our opinion. I also substituted out the egg, used oat milk & vinegar for the buttermilk, vegan butter, and reduced the oil to make it something I would eat as well, but I'm positive if you are interested in making the recipe exactly as is it will be amazing.
Jay has asked if it could be made for Thanksgiving so I will be whipping another one up today!

In The Coop
Absolutely nothing is happening in the coop. The girls enjoy their feed and snacks but are still on their egg laying break. Jay has been rationing his egg consumption and we did purchase a dozen eggs from our farmer's market a few weeks back so he could make omelets and scrambled eggs frivolously. At that time we were getting 3-5 eggs per week but now we are getting none. So we will be buying them again....

What I've Been Reading
I've continued to enjoy reading in the evenings. I have realized that there are a few new (to me) authors whose writing I love - K.A. Tucker, Elizabeth Berg, Louise Miller, and Heather Webber. All write very differently but I just really enjoy what I've read by each of them so far.
Here are some of my favorites read this month. Actually I LOVED each of these (affiliate links):
The Simple Wild: A Novel and the second in the series Wild At Heart: A Novel - by K.A. Tucker (the third and final in the series is available December 1st)
Say You Still Love Me: A Novel - by K.A. Tucker
The Last Time I Saw You: A Novel - by Elizabeth Berg
The Late Bloomer's Club: A Novel - by Louise Miller
Midnight At The Blackbird Cafe: A Novel - by Heather Webber
One that I was surprised to really like, because it's not a book I would have normally chosen, was Maybe You Should Talk To Someone by Lori Gottlieb. I really enjoyed it and am so glad that I read it.
If you have some favorites that you would recommend, I would love for you to leave it in the comments!

soap curing on the shelves
The Soap & Skincare Business
We are incredibly blessed to be quite busy despite the craft shows being cancelled and having limited tourists in our town to shop at our weekly farmer's market. Our online store continues churn out the orders and our local regulars continue to come out. And, the holiday Artisan Market at a museum one town over is going to be able to open so we are thrilled to have our products there again this year.
Our farmer's market usually moves indoors in November, however, we are trying to stay outside as long as possible this year. It's been chilly, I'm not going to lie. A couple of Sundays ago we barely made it to 40 degrees and this past Sunday we were at, I believe, 41 degrees. We did invest in a portable heater that is fueled by propane so that will be nice. We can put our tent walls up and turn on the heater to get warm. It's nice because it gives shoppers much more space to shop and makes them feel a lot more comfortable as our areas COVID numbers continue to rise.
Although this post was about 2 weeks late, I wanted to give you an October update. Thank you to those of you who have reached out asking for this and other posts. I'm hoping to get back to posting more often soon! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we certainly have a tremendous amount to be thankful for. Although we usually host a small gathering for friends, we will be celebrating just the two of us (and critters of course) this year. It will be a great day off (except for cooking) that we've looked forward to.
Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

HEALTHY RECIPE: LOW CARB CARROT-GINGER DRESSING

There’s no denying that the New Year is that the perfect time to try to to a reset on those unhealthy eating habits. So for 2020,
I’ve decided to start out making some healthy changes. I’m making some extent to drink tons more water and getting my booty into high a minimum of five times per week, whether that’s yoga, or pilates or simply taking a walk. i'll or might not count long shopping days. My major goal though is to chop the maximum amount sugar out of my diet as possible and build up my veggie intake while finding ways I can sustain it for the future . Before I began on my impossible journey of becoming a plant-based eating guru anytime soon, I’m slowly easing into things. And it’s all starting with less sugar and eating a minimum of one salad every day But let’s be real. simply because you’re eating salad, you’re not necessarily eating healthy. In fact, there’s tons of “salads” which will have even more calories, fat, and sugar than if you’d just eaten a burger. you'll blame it on the toppings, but most dressing s, albeit they’re not obviously sweet usually have sugar added to balance the flavour of acidic ingredients like vinegar. To fuel my new healthy obsession with salads I wanted to return up with some crave-worthy and straightforward dressing recipes that I can just enter the blender 1-2-3 while ablation the sugar. I started with my all-time favorite Asian inspired Carrot-Ginger dressing. like a Japanese Restaurant dressing it’s a mix of ingredients like carrot, ginger, yellow bell pepper, rice vinegar , miso paste, and vegetable oil . This dressing does need a touch little bit of sweet to stay it balanced. So to form it as low-carb as possible, I ditched the sugar and used my absolute favorite sugar substitute far and away –SPLENDA Stevia Naturals. Completely natural and plant-derived, it’s zero calories, zero carbs and features a super clean sugary taste with no aftertaste. I also use it to chop out sugar in other ways throughout the day. a number of my favorite ways to use SPLENDA Stevia Naturals besides in salad dressings are in-. Coffee Drinks, Iced or Hot Teas Lemonade and Limeade (try it fizzy with drinking water and mint) Cole Slaw (still a dressing but really good) Tomato Sauce Muffins, Quick Breads and Cookies Low Sugar condiment Apple vinegar Tonic – great for digestion add 1 tablespoon of ACV to 16 ounces of water and 1/2 tsp of SPLENDA Stevia Naturals which adds sweetness while cutting the tough bite of the vinegar. It’s great for digestion, has antioxidants and minerals, may boost metabolism and even supports healthy gut bacteria. Sweet Tip: SPLENDA Stevia Naturals comes during a tabletop jar, but it also comes in packets. I stash some altogether my bags so I always have it on the go once I need a touch of sweet. THE INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED Vibrant, fresh-tasting and incredibly smooth, the Asian inspired flavors during this dressing are so good you’ll end up daydreaming about what else you'll drizzle it on. And it’s so low sugar and low carb there’s zero guilt involved. structure a batch or two and eat it throughout the week and you’ll find it easy to urge all of your veggies! Carrot – One peeled medium to large carrot will work. One medium carrot has about 2.9 grams of sugar and is rich in beta-carotene and lutein. Orange Bell Pepper – I find that adding half an orange bell pepper adds a pleasant smooth flavor and provides this dressing body. which gorgeous orange color blends perfectly with the carrot. They’re high in vitamins C and A and only add about 3 grams of sugar to the present dressing Shallot – This adds a subtle onion flavor without overpowering and it works so well during this dressing. If all you’ve got is garlic available then a clove or two will do. Miso Paste – Miso gives this dressing that savory umami flavor I can’t get enough of. And it’s healthy too! Miso may be a good source of B vitamins, vitamins E, K, and vitamin Bc , and since it’s a fermented food (from soybeans) it also adds a lift of probiotics to the present dressing that’s good for your gut. White miso paste will help keep the colour of this dressing vibrant, but any miso will do. If you can’t find miso, substitute tamari or soy . Rice vinegar – If you’re watching your carbs or sugars make certain to use rice vinegar which has zero carbs or sugar and not seasoned rice vinegar which has sugar and salt added. Avocado or Neutral vegetable oil – full of healthy fats and high in vitamin E and lutein avocado oil is my go-to for salad dressings once I don’t want the taste of additional virgin vegetable oil . Grapeseed oil also will work. Sesame Oil – a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil add a pleasant toasty flavor to the present dressing. make certain to store this within the fridge after opening to preserve freshness. Stevia Taste Tip: Many stevia products on the market commonly contain an extract called Rebaudioside or Reb A which may have a bitter or strange aftertaste. Just remember Reb D is what you would like for the foremost like tast If you are doing happen to seem on the side of the Splenda Naturals Stevia jar and skim the nutrition label you’ll see 3 grams of carbs from erythritol per teaspoon. HOW TO MAKE THE CARROT-GINGER DRESSING There’s just one step for this dressing…

food+drink from IT’S NOT ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE by Terry McMillan
(these are all Kindle highlights. please let me know in the comments if you have other mentions of food and/ or drink in this book.)
1. buffet of fried chicken, BBQ ribs, baked beans, au gratin potatoes, some kind of salad, collard greens, and cornbread.
2. chocolate cake
3. angel hair pasta with prawns, some garlic bread, and a good salad
4. We could have some raspberry sorbet and not too many glasses of wine so that we still have energy...
5. glass of water with a slice of cucumber resting between tiny ice cubes.
6. ...a large plate of figs, squares of dark and white chocolate, green grapes, and four or five different types of cheese. Beige crackers are spread out like cards on a blackjack table.
7. ...all kinds of casseroles and bowls of fried chicken and a honey-baked ham and macaroni and cheese on the table, and all four burners had pots with steam bursting out of the tops of them. I saw squares of yellow cornbread and collard greens and sweet potatoes in chafing dishes.
8. ...two glass pitchers of lemonade and iced tea.
9. We both laughed, and I remember throwing a piece of French bread at him and missing. B. B. King—who still was very quick at the time—grabbed it in his mouth and took off. Carl was lucky I didn’t grab a handful of my delicious spaghetti and meatballs, or he’d have been covered in it!
10. ...candied yam.
11. ... fried chicken and collard greens. Lucky also had macaroni and cheese, which I passed on.
12. She then bit off a big piece of honey cornbread. “Neither one of us should even be in here,” I said as I looked down at my plate. The chicken was fried. I could see the ham in the collard greens. The candied yams had brown sugar and butter oozing out of them. And then there was my beautiful cornbread. Did I really need to eat all this?
13. ...double cheeseburger, some soft fries, a diet Coke, and three farewell Twizzlers.
14. “I made lasagna and a salad and as you can see, French bread and steamed asparagus.”
15. When I went to put my registration back inside the glove compartment, staring at me was a brand-new package of Twizzlers.
16. “I’ll have the pizza with ground beef, but with no beans, no sour cream, and no avocado.” “Anything else?” “I would like to try the fried ice cream.” “To drink?” “I’ll have a virgin margarita.” “What kind, sir?” “A normal one.” I winked at her, so she knew I wanted my regular: combination chicken tacos and chicken enchiladas with sour cream. All the combos come with beans and rice and I almost always end up taking something home. I ate guacamole and chips and Kwame drank what was really just lemonade...
17. I grabbed the tasteless granola, some raspberries, and low-fat milk...
18. ...string beans and that stuff with the scrambled eggs in it again?”
19. ...pot stickers and various types of chow fun
20. ...the white boxes that we knew were pot stickers and brown and white rice, and the fortune cookies, at least ten of them.
21. But I ordered a low-fat mocha latte with no sugar instead.
22. I just made a strong pot of Peet’s Sumatra and I baked a delicious apple pie for Joe.
23. I could hardly eat the stroganoff, which was terrible, and also because I had snuck a hamburger (not cheeseburger) with small fries before I came over...
24. “I got lasagna and sourdough bread, and a Caesar salad and asparagus for you...
25. Kwame lifted the wide lasagna noodles and let them fall back on top of the red meat sauce. Then he pulled on the cheese to form a string...
26. ...from about eight different salads, we chose four and a bowl of chunky homemade vegetable soup.
27. ...red miso short ribs, Thai chicken meatballs, and shredded jerk chicken floating in thick golden sauce...
28. We had to order the seasoned rice and bread. At checkout, we decided to get the salad and soup to go and bought two of those little round macaroon cookies that come from France. I ordered watermelon mint lemonade...
29. ....finest halibut for you along with baked sweet potatoes and a salad and brown rice.
30. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to have a drumstick and a wing on hand for a late-night snack.
31. ...last two kosher hot dogs and a few French fries and a half hour later, I scraped the vanilla out of the ice cream sandwich and put it on a saucer...
32. ...sweet potato pies, peach cobbler, bread pudding, and apple pies—
33. ...I sliced apples. I opened ten cans of peaches. I boiled sweet potatoes and mashed them with cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, eggs, vanilla flavor, and a drop of bourbon. I made bread pudding that was so fluffy it almost floated out of the little baking dishes I bought. The peach juice boiled onto the aluminum foil I knew to put under the cobbler because it happens every year.
34. lobster tails with butter and baked potatoes with chives, sour cream, and butter and a salad and sourdough bread
35. I did not want to go out for cake and ice cream.
36. I was overdue for a cheeseburger and fries. I had been good. I could count how many I’d had since I got back from Las Vegas, which was almost two months ago: five. I could also count how many times I went to Carol’s and had their French toast with bacon: three.
37. ...once she had it, she would have to pretend fried chicken and candied yams and honey cornbread would kill her.
38. “Yes, I would like to have a double cheeseburger with a purple onion and a small order of fries.” “What kind of cheese would you like on that burger?” the voice said. “Cheddar. Oh, and can you also put pickles on it?” “You got it. Any of our delicious desserts strike your eye? Our apple pie is killer and our ice cream sundaes are made with the best chocolate syrup. And there’s a new flavor of ice cream to choose: strawberry cheesecake.”
39. ...two thick pieces of French toast with butter, drenched with maple syrup, two strips of bacon, a glass of orange juice, and a cup of coffee. With two packets of Splenda.
40. We’re having marinated rib-eyes, steamed brown rice, no bread, a salad with oil and vinegar, and sparkling water for me and Loretha, right, Lo?”
41. “And for dessert?” Sadie asked suspiciously. “Fruit salad. Take it or leave it.”
42. ...bought a slice of pepperoni pizza, a salad, a Diet Coke, and a chocolate chip cookie.
43. ...cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, a small piece of chicken breast, and a peach that she was already cutting.
44. I took a long sip of my detoxifying apple-cucumber-celery-spinach-cranberry-pomegranate drink, and then stared at my steel-cut oatmeal with no raisins and definitely no brown sugar.
45. ...that Hawaiian French toast with the rum-battered Kona-coffee whipped cream and pineapple marmalade
46. I ate an apple. And half of a whole wheat English muffin that I toasted and spread this stuff called ghee that Jonas told me to buy instead of butter. It tasted like butter but better. I wanted a glass of orange juice so bad
47. ...chocolate chip cookie or a juicy cheeseburger with fries and a vanilla shake.
48. ...did not put any sugar in my coffee but I did put in cream. I was starting to get used to it. And instead of eating French toast or pancakes topped with bananas and hot syrup or waffles with hot syrup or eggs and bacon with hash browns and toast with butter and jelly, I had plain yogurt with berries and whole wheat toast.
49. ...salad with a thousand different vegetables and cooked prawns and then chunks of chicken and oil and vinegar dressing. I did eat a breadstick.
50. ...baked chicken. Brown rice. A salad. Steamed vegetables. I passed on the sourdough bread and butter.
51. Jonas has made an amazing tofu stir-fry if you’d like to have dinner with us.” “No thanks.” “It’s also got ginger, carrots, string beans, and garlic, and a little soy sauce. You won’t even know it’s good for you.”
52. ...chipotle grilled pork tenderloin with strawberry-avocado salsa. And this is spicy brown rice. That’s spinach and onion couscous. Those are salmon fishcakes. And the salad is spinach, feta, and goat cheese.
53. ...triangle turkey sandwich...
54. ...eat the savory teriyaki beef I ordered along with a cup of hot water and lemon
55. purple sweet potato, almond milk, and ginger smoothies

LOW CARB CARROT-GINGER DRESSING

There’s no denying that the New Year is that the perfect time to try to do a reset on those unhealthy eating habits. So for 2020, I’ve decided to start out making some healthy changes. I’m making some extent to drink tons more water and getting my booty into high a minimum of five times per week, whether that’s yoga, or pilates or simply taking a walk. I'll or might not count long shopping days. My major goal though is to chop the maximum amount of sugar out of my diet as possible and build up my veggie intake while finding ways I can sustain it for the future. Before I began on my impossible journey of becoming a plant-based eating guru anytime soon, I’m slowly easing into things. My Remarkable Colon Cleanse Experience: a 7 Day Journal

Global Healing Senior Editor Wendee Nicole decided to do the Complete Body Cleanse Program™ — a comprehensive program to detoxify and improve health that will take three to four months to complete — and it starts with a 6-day Colon Cleanse. Not everything eaten on Wendee’s cleanse experience is approved or endorsed by Dr. Group, but this was her experience trying to follow the recommended diet and protocol as closely as possible.
Wendee’s Story
I have a milestone birthday coming up in July, and I want to get in great shape by then. I’m not getting any younger, and I want to lose some weight — my main goal — but also to get healthier overall, including reducing the risk of health ailments in later years by removing toxins from my body. Every time I do a cleanse, it resets my digestion and I feel better. It also gives me an opportunity to set my health intentions anew and even takes on a spiritual element, for me.
Global Healing’s Colon Cleanse Program™ recommends avoiding soy, gluten, red meat (and all meat), high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, refined sugar, processed foods, canned foods, alcohol, and excess coffee or caffeine, among other things. Instead, I’ll eat a variety of fruits (this includes avocados and tomatoes, which are fruits!).
Every day during the six-day cleanse, I will take Oxy-Powder® and Latero-Flora™ — a single-strain probiotic (Brevibacillus laterosporus). Latero-Flora is a transient probiotic, which means it does not set up shop in your body like other probiotics do, but passes through. However, on the way, it targets harmful organisms that live in the colon, like yeasts.
I know that prevention is the key! Dr. Group says that health begins in the colon — the large intestine — and that’s because we can accumulate years of gunk in there, including toxins and unhealthy microbes. Colon health is the start of good health!
For complete protocol details, check out our article, How To Perform a Colon Cleanse: The Complete Guide.
Below, I detail the supplements I took, how much water I drank, and all the foods I ate — as well as my overall daily experiences.
Friday — Day 1
Supplements
2 Latero-Flora + 6 Oxy-Powder
Water (with lemon)
80 ounces
Breakfast
1 cup blueberries & raspberries
1 cup ginger-mango tea
Few sips mango kombucha
1 cup watermelon chunks
Lunch
1 avocado with sea salt
1 banana
Cold-pressed mixed vegetable-fruit juice
Snack
½ bag crunchy mango bites
1 cup mint-chamomile herbal tea
Dinner
6 jicama tacos (jicama wraps with cucumber and carrots)
4 oz. homemade guacamole
4 mini tomatoes
1 cup watermelon
Activity
100 crunches + plank
Woke up excited about the cleanse! Dr. Group's standard daily recommendation is drinking half your body weight in water daily, but on a cleanse, more is better. I’m drinking from a 20-ounce reusable bottle so I can track how much I drink.
I decided to drink room temperature water because it’s easier to drink more, faster. I’m drinking way more than I normally do. To my third bottle of water, I added a capful of organic raw apple cider vinegar.
I went out with a friend for lunch, but I brought my own food there. I had carrots, avocado, and juice and it really filled me up.
It’s 4 p.m., time to head home! I noticed that on my drive home, I was a bit sleepy. Around 5 p.m. once home, I got a headache. I didn't take any meds, but instead took a hot bath and inhaled some lavender essential oil.
Headaches and other mild discomforts are a natural part of most cleanses, and are part of what’s called the "healing crisis." When your body purges toxins, it can naturally lead to such symptoms.
I am keeping a commitment to exercise in some capacity every single day during the Complete Body Cleanse, which, of course, includes this Colon Cleanse. I really wasn’t feeling it today with the headache, but I did 100 crunches and a 60-second plank. Exercise and moving your body keep the toxins moving out of your body, so it’s helpful.
Every evening of the Colon Cleanse, I take six capsules of Oxy-Powder, an oxygenated colon cleanser that really gets things moving. Oxy-Powder is the best colon cleansing product that I’ve ever used. You take it at night and it works gently and very effectively. The next day, there’s no cramping — just simple, easy elimination. I like that I can check off the supplements I take in the instruction booklet.
Saturday — Day 2
Supplements
2 Latero-Flora + 6 Oxy-Powder
Water
60 ounces
Breakfast
1 cup rooibos tea
1 banana
3 dried apricots
1 unsweetened applesauce cup topped with cinnamon
Lunch
5 jicama tacos
4 oz. homemade guacamole
Snack
2 cups cold-pressed orange-pineapple-mango juice
½ cup blackberries/blueberries
Few sips mango kombucha
½ cup chopped Medjool dates in coconut flour
Dinner
6 jicama tacos
4 oz. guacamole
Activity
House cleaning + raking
Rode bike a couple of miles
My healing crisis symptoms continued on day two. It’s good that I started my cleanse on a Friday so that I could relax at home and take it easy. From past experiences, I find that the healing crisis symptoms occur in the first two or three days of a cleanse. I take comfort knowing it will go away soon, and I am doing this for my health!
After some morning tea, I started some house cleaning. I guess I felt like “cleansing” my house as well. Cleansing the body often brings psychological and emotional responses.
Later, my daughter and I started riding our bikes on the greenbelts in our neighborhood, then spontaneously decided to go to a coffee shop, which was not too far. I got a juice while there.
Back home, I took a hot bath with scented Epsom salts — a great part of any bedtime routine. Epsom salt contains magnesium sulfate, which comforts sore muscles and joints. Supportive therapies are encouraged during cleanses and you can turn your bath into a healing hot spring by adding Epsom salts, Bentonite clay, and other health-inducing ingredients. Other therapies that help a cleanse include massage, acupuncture, and saunas.
I am not taking any other supplements during this cleanse — which is what Global Healing recommends. That allows your body to devote its energy to breaking down toxins rather than processing the additional nutrients in supplements. While vitamins, minerals, and other supplements are healthful, it takes energy for the liver and kidneys to break down each and every item consumed. The simpler your diet is during a cleanse, the better the result.
Once in bed, I felt very cold and even started shivering. That was weird because, although it’s a bit cold outside, I keep my house warm. I felt so cold that I dried my hair and then used a heating pad to warm up. I am sure it’s part of the healing crisis. My body is ridding itself of toxins.
Sunday — Day 3
Supplements
2 Latero-Flora + 4 Oxy-Powder
Water
68 ounces
Breakfast
⅓ cup dried Medjool dates in coconut flour
1 cup peach passion tea
1 banana
1 dried apricot
Lunch
½ cup blueberries
1 cup peppermint tea
1 handful of dry roasted macadamia nuts
6 plantain chips
2 tablespoons pine nuts
Dinner
5 jicama tacos
4 oz. guacamole
4 mini-tomatoes
Activity
Stretching
100 crunches
Tae Bo
It’s day three and I have a lot of energy and feel great. I started my day with some stretching and situps and later, at a movie with my daughter, I swapped my normal popcorn-munching habit with snacks from home: chopped dates and blueberries, plus sparkling water. Yay for small victories!
I’m weighing myself every day on this new scale I have that tells body fat, muscle mass, and more, but suffice it to say that I am not at my ideal weight and hope the colon cleanse will help!
As you get older, metabolism slows down, and that is just a natural part of life, but I am trying to increase my muscle mass and strength through exercise of various types, from yoga to running. I know that moving your body is an important part of cleansing because — along with water — it gets things moving and flowing, enabling the toxins to purge from the body.
But so far, as of day 3, I am not losing weight. But again, weight loss is not the main focus of a colon cleanse. It can happen, but often that comes when you have a lot of accumulated, compacted fecal matter in your colon. I’ve done several cleanses, so don’t expect to have much in the way of compacted waste. Since I’ve done many cleanses before, I think my colon is pretty clean overall!
When I got home, I did 40 minutes of Tae Bo. I used to do these years ago — I love Billy Blanks’ energy and I feel like I get an excellent all-over workout.
I only took four Oxy-Powder because I know that four "keeps me going" without being too much.
Monday — Day 4
Supplements
2 Latero-Flora + 4 Oxy-Powder
Water
88 ounces
Breakfast
1 cup rooibos tea
Few sips coconut water
1 banana
1 pear
1 dried banana
½ cup blueberries
⅓ cup green grapes
Snacks
½ bag organic crunchy mango bites
1 banana
Lunch
1 cup carrot sticks
4 oz. spicy guacamole
Dinner
15 plantain chips with ½ avocado
Few sips Mango Tango juice smoothie
Activity
Situps (60)
It was my first day back at work, so I came prepared! I didn’t want to end up hungry and make poor food choices by being tempted by that. I brought the following: a banana, apple, pear, grapefruit, avocado, grapes, blueberries, lemon (to squeeze in my water), dried dates & coconut, dried banana, and a bag of carrots… I laid all the fruits out on my desk, and I found it humorous and it kept my mood high in the morning!
I’m finding it so much easier to drink water at work than at home. Weird. I’m going to the bathroom a lot, are people noticing? I added lemon to all my water today and apple cider vinegar (ACV) to my last 20 ounces.
I went to an Indian place for lunch with two friends. They are doing the colon cleanse also, but not the all-fruit option. I had one small bite of both of their vegan dishes — it was so delish! A bite or two of something else won’t blow the whole program. But my main meal was carrots and guacamole that I brought with me.
Back at the office, my stomach was very gurgly, and I was gassy (unusual for me, even on a cleanse). I wonder if it was the bite of Indian food since I hadn’t had this in the previous days.
I talked to Luis, who said that’s normal because Oxy-Powder releases oxygen in the gut and that feeling means it is working away at the gunk in the colon. The oxygen “eats” away at compacted waste in the colon, which is a key part of the colon cleanse. Knowing the benefits helps offsets any difficulties.
I didn’t end up eating all the fruits I brought to work but I did eat some and left some for tomorrow. I'm not eating all that much, but I wasn’t hungry at all during the day. Or when I felt hunger, that is, I ate some fruit and felt fine.
In the evening, I ate a few plantain chips and felt a little guilty because they are not fruit per se. But they aren't too bad because they’re really just bananas; the only thing they’re introducing that I hadn’t been eating is oil.

Happy to nearing the end of the colon cleanse and proud of myself for beginning this health journey.
I'm finding it to be harder than I thought to eat only fruit! I had a few salad items at lunch that were not all fruit, but still, I ate no meat, dairy, eggs, sugar, or gluten, and no processed foods. I’m noticing a connection I have to emotional eating. If I’m stressed or down in any way, I crave comfort foods.
Noticing these patterns is just one positive aspect of a cleanse — they become much more obvious when you eat simply.
Cleanses can serve many positive purposes, not just cleansing out the colon. First, it’s the act of eliminating poor dietary choices which gives your digestive system a break and purges toxins.
Second, cleanses help me to eliminate poor diet choices even after it’s over. In the past, I’ve permanently given up diet soda, caffeine, gluten, and other things during and after different cleanses.
But I also use the cleanse as a time to reflect and observe. As mentioned, I am noticing this pattern — which I know is common — to eat out of emotions. Eating can be a comfort and a habit, beyond the nutritive value. That’s something I want to focus on, even after the cleanse ends.
At home, I went for a long run with my daughter. We ran for about 40 minutes. In fact, I ran further than I have in a long time. That felt so great!
I’ve had no wine all week, and I love a good glass of red wine in the evenings. In fact, I haven’t had any in a few weeks — another positive aspect of the cleanse for my health.
Wednesday — Day 6
Supplements
2 Latero-Flora + 2 Oxy-Powder
Water
88 ounces
Breakfast
Rooibos tea
1 banana
1 cup strawberries, raspberries, blueberries
½ bottle mango juice smoothie
½ bottle turmeric golden milk
1 grapefruit
1 dried apricot
Lunch
2 red potatoes
¼ cup corn arugula salad
¼ cup quinoa salad
⅔ cup roasted zucchini & sweet potato mix
⅓ cup roasted okra
⅓ bag dried carrots
Dinner
Leftover salads
Activity
25-minute yoga flow
Arm weights
At work in the morning, I talked to one of our Customer Satisfaction specialists who said that it’s not ideal to drink store-bought juices during cleanses because they remove parts of the juice like pectin and enzymes during the pasteurization process. It’s fine to drink homemade juices, even better if you use a juicer that leaves the pulp.
I ate half of a grapefruit before our morning meetings, and it made me hungrier! But I know it’s good for me. In the meeting, my stomach was rumbling and I was super hungry. I had a dried apricot and finished the grapefruit afterward.
I’m adding some ACV and lemon to my water. I didn’t use to love the flavor of ACV, but I know it’s good for me, and the more you drink it, the better it tastes! I do prefer the taste with ACV + lemon to just ACV.
I went to a natural grocery store for lunch again and ended up eating again from the salad bar. I never thought I’d say this, but I’m looking forward to the Liver Cleanse which comes next on the Complete Body Cleanse — because I can eat other stuff!
When I got home, I was kind of struggling with low energy and motivation, but I’m not sure why. I know that emotions can come up during any cleanse, especially as you get into deeper cleansing — in other words, when you’ve done several. I’m really proud of myself for sticking with it, and for exercising daily!
Today, when I didn’t feel motivated to exercise, I found a 30-day yoga video series online. We can do hard things! The first one was a simple 25-minute flow. Then I did some arm weights — biceps, triceps, shoulders — afterward. I was so glad I pushed myself to do it and it made me feel proud that I stuck to my commitment. Mentally, I feel recentered and that is a good way to finish the cleanse.
Because supportive therapies are helpful during a cleanse, and I plan to reward myself with a massage this weekend and go to the chiropractor next Tuesday. That’s a great way to end these six days and transition to the liver cleanse, the next step in the Complete Body Cleanse I’m doing!
Overall Experience
I feel really happy and “clean” because I ate very healthy throughout the entire program. I feel good about what I’m putting into my body. I feel great about exercising every day, whether it’s a day where I push myself with 40 minutes of running, a gentle yoga flow, or even just a few crunches.
I am seeing that my stomach is flatter, and my digestive system feels clean. Since I just finished, I can’t say how my digestion is going to be after, but from past experience I find cleanses make me very regular — like clockwork! It takes a couple of days for Oxy-Powder’s effects to gradually wear off, and the colon to fill back up with more substantial food.
Doing something structured like this cleanse helps me in other areas of my life. Knowing I'm cleansing with a goal of weight loss, it helps motivate me to keep going on the exercise, knowing I’m improving my overall health.
The baby steps of some small exercise when I don’t have the energy for something more really helps me. And while exercising during a cleanse is not absolutely essential, it really helps move things through your system and makes you healthier in the process.
Advice
Plan your meals in advance, especially if you work. I found breakfast the easiest because I would just bring fruit. For lunch, I would bring fruit and raw veggies, but the time I went out with a friend, I got tempted to go back and get some of that delicious food the next day! Even if it was plant-based without any wheat, gluten, soy, etc., it was cooked when I was initially aiming for raw.
Also, when you eat out, it’s really hard to know what is in your salad dressing or whatever, even when you order something pretty healthy. So I definitely recommend sticking to bringing your own food if you want to be strict about the cleanse.
To remember to take my supplements, I put the bottles on my bathroom counter. I took Latero-Flora in the morning and Oxy-Powder the evening before bed.
I started out with the recommended six capsules of Oxy-Powder but reduced to four as that worked better for me at work. In an ideal world, I would have followed the protocol more precisely, but this was my honest experience. I did not have to rush to the bathroom or have any concerns with that at all. I would usually wake and have a nice hefty BM, and then at work would also go to the bathroom (number two) a couple of times. Other than the one day with a gurgly stomach, I did not experience any stomach upset, diarrhea, or gas.
Everyone has questions during a new cleanse. I had these questions and asked our Customer Satisfaction Team Manager Luis. Here are his answers.
Can I drink store-bought juice?
You can, but it’s not optimal for the colon cleanse. Dr. Group recommends fruits in as close to their natural “live” state as possible. If you drink juice, it’s best to make it yourself.
How long do the effects of Oxy-Powder last?
Its effects last 18 hours. (That makes sense why it seems to loosen the poo, not just the day after you take it, but the following day as well.)
Can I eat dried fruit?
Yes, but be careful not to overeat. It’s not hard to do.
Can I just eat fruit and vegetables, but raw? Why all fruit?
Dr. Group believes fruit is best for cleansing the colon. Fruit is full of both soluble and insoluble fiber, while also containing high levels of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other nutrients.
Can I drink tea in that 20-minute period between taking Latero-Flora and eating?
Yes, it's ok. It does not interfere unless you're taking a probiotic at the same time as oregano tea or oregano oil, which kills probiotics. It will make little to no difference. The 20 minutes is really to ensure enough time for the capsule to open so that it can travel to the small intestine along with the food you are about to ingest.

Tuesday — Day 5
Supplements
2 Latero-Flora + 4 Oxy-Powder
Water
104 ounces
Breakfast
1.5 cups mango juice smoothie
1 cup rooibos tea
1 dried banana
1 banana
1 Gala apple
1 cup coconut water
Lunch
1 cup raw kale salad
⅓ cup quinoa salad
2 red potatoes in oil
½ cup corn-arugula salad
½ bottle turmeric golden milk
¼ bottle sparkling prebiotic tonic — ginger/turmeric/lemon
Snacks
6 organic carrot sticks, dried
⅓ bag dried crunchy mango bites
Dinner
½ avocado w/Himalayan pink salt
Activity
Ran for 40 min
Lunges & calf raises

21 point system of Healthy and Happy life

21 point system of Healthy and Happy life
Here I am sharing a 21 point system of Healthy and Happy life, I have been following my entire life, it doesn't matter, what is the current status of your body and mind if you dedicatedly follow and apply these solutions in your daily routine regularly, you can see a significant improvement in your body-mind status. Everyone think and dream to live a healthy and happy life, but only thinking and dreaming about it not make it a reality in your life. If you want something in your life, you need to do certain activities and dedicated work towards that goal. If you see anyone in his/her BMI, shape and good health status, just check and inquire, you will find that they all are following some or all of above-mentioned activities or routines to keep them in shape and good health status. Your healthy and happy life should be your main concern, and it totally depend upon a healthy body and mind, do not let anything else decide your fate. Be a master of your own destiny not a slave of your sick and unconscious habits and slavery of your taste buds. These are time tested and proven habits and daily routines, they are simple, easy and anyone can make them part of their daily life and get benefit by applying them sincerely, honestly. Read them carefully and start applying and including them in your lifestyle and daily routine, within 90 days you will see a great transformation and change in your body-mind status. It depends upon your dedication, sincerity and doing it regularly, without any excuse and interruption. 21 point system of Healthy and Happy life 1. Count your calories and quantity of food intake. Eat only as much you need to live energetically and fully charged. Don't eat more or less than what your body needs. 2. Eat natural, organic and fresh foods and fruits, eat fermented foods regularly, and make them a part of your regular diet. Eat Dosa-Idli, Dhokla, Yoghurt, and other healthy fermented foods. 3. Drink purified water, at least 3 to 5 glass a day, water is most important thing required to keep you hydrated, healthy and alive. (Don't drink, harsh, contaminated and hard water) 4. Eat nuts and fruits in place of junk and fried foods and snacks. The good thing about natural and healthy foods is that you cannot eat them more than required. It is a nature of healthy and nutritious food, they satiate you with a little quantity and provide you a great amount of nutrition. They are full of healthy proteins, minerals, vitamins, and healthy fats. You can see it by yourself how many apples, almonds or cashew nut you can eat at one time, a little quantity of them keep you satiate and full and bring you enough energy and taste to carry on your day. But it is not true in the case of junk foods and drinks, they make you addictive of them. They create cravings for them, they are made of substances which create the need for them in your blood and you turned become addicted to them. It is not happening in case of any natural and healthy food and food ingredient, but it is opposite in case of Junk foods and drinks, they keep you slave of your taste buds and utterly sick chemical filled harmful foods and drinks. All these food giants and multinationals made people slave to their foods and it is done with great harmful techniques and biggest conspiracies to exploit and make people slave to their unhealthy and ugly foods.
5. Consume Organic Olive Oil, Mustard Oil and Extra Virgin cold pressed Coconut Oil, and Organic Clarified Butter (Shuddha Ghee), check what is good for your health. I consume 20 to 30 ML of oil on my whole day meal and consuming only organic and certified for the last 3 years. 6. Avoid eating outside, if you need to stay longer away from home, keep some nuts, sprouts or homemade food with you and purified water bottle (Avoid Plastic bottles), don't eat frozen foods, ice cream, processed food you kept in your refrigerator, remove all of them from there. 7. Don’t eat a lot of dairy products, sweets purchased from outside, sweets made with them have the possibility of impurities and adultery more than anything else. Nowadays dairy products are most adultered and contaminated food products, they are very risky and harmful if it is not organic and fresh. 8. Don’t eat deep-fried snacks, like Samosa, Kachori, and AalooVada, bread pakora, and all of this kind selling by the roadside vendors or any restaurant, because they are using low-quality, high cholesterol and unhealthy fats containing oil, for frying them and they use this oil till it degraded most. They made things in very unhygienic conditions and with poor grade food materials to reduce production costs; they also used preservatives to increase their shelf life, especially for sweets and dairy products. Edible oils have a tendency to get rancid, every time they deep fried the snacks in that oil on high flame and smoke point, the oil gets more rancid every time, and it is highly dangerous for our health. So stop eating these unhealthy and life-threatening spoiled foods made with highly toxic oil in unhygienic conditions.

9. Eat more raw vegetables and fruits, like cucumber, cilantro, carrots, ginger, garlic, lemon, beetroot, radish, onion, leafy greens like spinach. Prefer to eat only a Vegetarian diet, it has a lot of benefits. 10. Consume unfiltered organic raw Apple Cider Vinegar and organic honey and lemon. 11. Always check your weight frequently, do exercise regularly, to keep you fit and high in spirit. 12. Don’t drink carbonated beverages and Alcoholic drinks, they have a dangerous level of concentrated sugar and very harmful substances, pesticides in them which is highly responsible for poor metabolism, diabetes, and obesity. Alcohol, carbonated beverages, and Junk food disturb your digestive system, very badly; it is the cause of Leaky gut syndrome and highly inflamed gut and intestine. A habit of drinking these harmful drinks and beverages leads to poor or nil absorption of nutrients, irregular level of insulin and an imbalance in hormone level. These all things are individually and collectively responsible for obesity and most of the critical and deadly diseases you have or may be caught by them soon if not taken care.

13. Exercise well, at least walk 45 to 60 minutes a day, take the sunshine in the morning, at least 15 minutes, visit natural green places, do physical activities, walk, run, swim, physical exercise and do all the chores at home as much possible. 14. Make a healthy Routine - Have good eating, sleeping habits, and regular routine. Eat dinner before 8.30 pm and make a habit to go to sleep early up to 11.30 PM and wake up at 6 O' clock in the morning. Go to the nearest garden if there is any. 15. Do not Eat Bakery Foods - Away from bread, bakery foods, cakes, and everything made of refined wheat flour(white flour or maida) and refined sugar and other unhealthy sweeteners, syrups. Check what gives you more strength, energy and free body mind and what sucks you more and more, only you know better, so do the right things at any cost.

16. Do not Store Junk at Home - Don’t fill your kitchen and fridge with all kind of junk, free it from them. Stop storing junk at your home, kitchen cabinets. You eat always what is easily available to you at home or outside. Replace it with fruits, nuts, dry fruits, and nutritious food. 17. Google about everything before you eat and consume, know what are you eating all the time and what impact they are making on your body-mind. You will be shocked to know the truth about most of them. You don't know what have you done with your body and mind in yesteryear and still doing now. 18. Keep yourself in the company of people who are highly health conscious and help you to live a regular and healthy routine. Because we do a lot of things due to the associations we have with people with similar habits and activities. 19. Keep a weighing machine in your home so you can frequently check your weight. Get a Health Checkup to know your current health status and do it once in a year at least. 20. If possible consume only Organic food products grains, pulses, spices, nuts, oils and vegetable, fruits available to you or you can purchase all of them online. It will help you to keep you away from the poisonous effects of harmful pesticides and chemicals you are getting through non-organic foods, grains, fruits, and vegetables. 21. Eat more ginger, garlic, and healthy spices in your food like saunf, jeera, ajwain, Lawang, Elaichi, Hing, methi dana, black pepper red chili powder, flax seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, all organic and as required, it is all available online.

I promise you if you are applying all these things in your life, routine and eating habits, will never catch by obesity or any critical diseases, check this out by yourself. You can witness it by yourself if applied. 80% of disease you caught with is due to your irregular habits and diseased digestive system and leaky gut and infected and an inflamed GI tract. 10 Terrific Ways to Use All Your Summer Tomatoes
When I was a kid, I would not eat tomatoes. I swore I hated them. Sure I would eat ketchup and tomato sauce, but not actual tomatoes. When I became vegan, everything changed. Suddenly, I learned to love lots of foods I wouldn’t eat before, and tomatoes were one of them. Currently, I eat tomatoes every single day in one form or another. They are one of the foods I cannot run out of or I feel lost and deprived. Summer is a great time for tomatoes. This is when they are at their best – deep red, juicy and intense in flavor. There are Beefsteaks, Roma Plums, Vine-Ripened, Grape, Cherry, Heirloom, and so many other types of tomatoes. Each has their own flavor and personality and each can be used in multiple ways.
You're reading: 10 Terrific Ways to Use All Your Summer Tomatoes
If you grow tomatoes, you will probably be swamped with them by the end of summer. Maybe you are the lucky recipient of someone who has too many to use or maybe you are indulging in the bounty of the farmers market. However you come by your tomatoes, now is the perfect time to try new and exciting things with them. Of course, you know you can use fresh tomatoes to make tomato sauce or salsa, and you know they taste great in salads and sandwiches. Well, here are 10 different ways to use all those beautiful summer tomatoes.
1. Make Homemade Bruschetta
Heirloom Tomato and White Bean Bruschetta
Tomatoes can have no better friends than fruity olive oil, savory garlic, and crispy bread. Bruschetta is a favorite appetizer or hors d’ouvres. I make a Garlic Tomato Bruschetta that is so good, that and a glass of white wine is all I need for dinner. Here’s how I make it: Preheat the broiler. Place thin slices of Italian, Ciabatta or French bread onto a baking sheet.
Drizzle extra-virgin olive oil over them and broil for just 3-4 minutes until they are crispy and golden brown. Remove the bread from the oven and set them aside. In a skillet, heat a spoon of extra-virgin olive oil over medium heat. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and a pinch of red pepper flakes and cook for a minute until the garlic starts to soften. Add 1 pint of halved grape tomatoes and toss in the seasoned oil. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the tomatoes soften. Season with salt and pepper and spoon the tomatoes onto the toasted bread. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and vegan grated parmesan. Make a lot. This is addictive. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

2. Make Soup – Raw or Cooked
Gazpacho is a Spanish soup that is served cold. It’s also easy to make – just blend ripe tomatoes with any other produce you desire onions, cucumber, bell peppers and even watermelon. Chill it and enjoy it. It couldn’t be easier. This Raw Tomato Red Pepper Soup combines meaty tomatoes, sweet bell pepper and spicy chipotle for a refreshing and beautiful soup. If you prefer your tomato soup hot, try this traditional Quick and Rich Tomato Soup or this creamy Tomato Coconut Soup.
3. Make Stuffed Tomatoes
Usually, when we make stuffed dishes, we put tomatoes into the vegetable we are stuffing but how about stuffing the tomatoes themselves? All you have to do is hollow out the tomatoes and replace the pulp with your favorite fillings. Toss cherry tomatoes with olive oil, salt, and red pepper flakes, and then stuff them with your favorite spread or vegan cheese. Broil them until the cheese melts and the tomatoes soften about 2 minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs and impress your guests with this beautiful appetizer.
Larger tomatoes can be stuffed to make a healthy and delicious entrée or side dish. I hollow out large beefsteak tomatoes and stuff them with a mixture of sauteed mushrooms, spinach, quinoa and the pulp from the tomatoes. Place them in a baking dish, sprinkle a few bread crumbs atop each one and bake for 30 minutes. For a lighter dish, stuff the tomatoes with your favorite summer salads like this Chickpea Waldorf Salad or this Tempeh “Tuna” Salad. It’s refreshing and you get to eat the plate!
4. Make Your Own Dried Tomatoes
I love sun-dried tomatoes. They add a tangy flavor to dishes and make a great snack too. You can buy sun-dried tomatoes in the store but why not make your own? Whether you use a dehydrator, your oven or the sun, it’s easy to dry foods yourself. To make your own oven-dried tomatoes, halve ripe tomatoes lengthwise and scoop out the seeds. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and toss the tomatoes in olive oil, salt, and pepper. Set your oven on its lowest temperature (150 degrees) and let the tomatoes cook for eight hours or until they have shrunken. Then use your self-dried tomatoes to make Raw Lasagna with Cilantro Pesto, Sundried Tomatoes and Marinated Veggies, Quinoa with Secret Pesto and Sun-Dried Tomatoes and this beautiful Sun-dried Tomato Tart with Zucchini Hummus.
5. Make Fried Green Tomatoes
Red tomatoes shouldn’t have all the fun; green ones deserve love too. Unripe green tomatoes are the star of the southern dish, Fried Green Tomatoes. Because they are unripe, green tomatoes are firmer with less moisture which means they hold up to frying better. You could fry red tomatoes but if they are juicy, it could get messy. Simply slice the tomatoes, bread them and fry them. Try these Fried Green Beer Tomatoes which are coated with cornmeal and dark beer or my Cajun-flavored Fried Green Tomatoes with Red Pepper Aioli.
6. Make Roasted Tomatoes
Tomatoes are sweet but when you roast them, they get this intense, rich flavor that is savory and succulent. Roasted tomatoes are delicious on their own as a side dish or used in other recipes. Just place halved tomatoes on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper and drizzle them with olive oil, salt and your favorite herbs and spices. You can roast them fast in a 425-degree oven for 20 minutes or slowly in a 250-degree oven for a couple of hours until they are collapsed and softened. Then enjoy them in dishes like this bowl of Miso Roasted Tomatoes with Spiralized Carrot Noodles and these Grilled Avocados with Roasted Tomatoes.
7. Make Pickled Tomatoes
Pickled and fermented foods are delicious with their unique tang and saltiness. We eat pickled cabbage as sauerkraut, pickled onions, carrots and other veggies as kimchi and pickled cucumbers as…well, pickles. So why not pickle tomatoes? It’s easy, they can last a long time, and you can eat them on sandwiches or in salads or on their own. To make pickled tomatoes: cook your favorite spices such as garlic, red pepper flakes, ginger, cumin or mustard seeds in some olive oil for just a minute or two to deepen their flavors. Add one cup of your favorite vinegar and ¼ cup sugar to the saucepan and cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. This is the brine. Add some salt and let the mixture cool. Take a sterilized jar and fill it with peeled, ripe tomatoes cut into wedges or whatever shape you desire. Pour the brine over the tomatoes. Be sure to leave about ½ inch of room at the top. Cover and refrigerate for several hours. The longer you let the tomatoes pickle in the brine, the better they will be.
8. Make Homemade Chile Sauce
Chile sauce is amazing. It’s rich, sweet, spicy and tangy all at the same time. It’s used in lots of recipes, especially Asian ones. You can buy bottles of chile sauce but some have ingredients such as high-fructose corn syrup and others can be expensive. When I ran out of chile sauce in the middle of making a recipe, I couldn’t substitute anything else so I learned to make my own. It was much simpler than I thought it would be and now I always make it myself.
Let me share my recipe with you: Combine 2 cups of fresh, pureed tomatoes (plums have the best flavor), ¼ cup tomato paste, ¼ cup apple cider vinegar, ¼ cup brown sugar, 2 chopped jalapeno peppers, 1 tsp. each garlic powder and chile powder, ½ tsp. each dry mustard powder and onion powder, a pinch of allspice, and 2 Tbs. vegan Worcestershire sauce in a food processor. If you don’t have vegan Worcestershire sauce, you can use 1 Tbs. each tamari and balsamic vinegar. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if you want extra heat. Process until smooth and taste for any seasoning adjustments. Keep in a jar in the fridge and use it in recipes such as Braised Seitan Short Ribs in Spicy Chile Sauce, Mississippi Comeback Sauce and Sesame Tofu.

9. Make Tomato Desserts
Yes, desserts. We use spinach, avocado, and zucchini in desserts so why not tomatoes? After all, tomatoes are a fruit and with more recipes mixing sweet and savory tastes, tomatoes are a perfect ingredient for desserts. The next time you go to make your own ice cream or sorbet, consider giving tomatoes a try by either adding one or two to the recipe or going totally tomato-flavored. Add some little tomato wedges to fruit cocktail or these Raw Fruit Tartlets. Their gentle flavor mingles well with strawberries, watermelon, pineapple, mango, pears, melon and berries. Garnish your tomato dessert with fresh mint or basil leaves.
10. Freeze Your Tomatoes
Even though you can buy tomatoes year round, they are only in season for a short time. Or perhaps, you grew so many tomatoes, you can’t possibly use them all, no matter how many tomato ideas and recipes I give you. Well, the good news is that you can freeze tomatoes so you can enjoy them all year long. Tomatoes can be frozen with their skins or peeled, raw or cooked, whole, chopped, sliced or pureed. If you make tomato soup or sauce, you can also freeze the prepared foods.
To freeze tomatoes, select ones that are ripe and firm. Wash them gently and blot them dry. Prepare the tomatoes by cutting them into the desired shape and place them in a single layer on a cookie sheet that will fit in your freezer. After they are frozen, transfer the tomatoes to freezer bags or sealed storage containers. When you need them, just thaw them out and use them in any cooked recipe (thawed tomatoes will be too mushy to eat like you would a fresh tomato). Frozen tomatoes can last up to 8 months so you can be enjoying summer tomatoes in the middle of a winter snowstorm.
There is no food more versatile than the tomato. Sweet or savory, raw or cooked, alone or as part of a recipe, tomatoes are nature’s candy. I hope you have fun trying these ways of using your summer tomato bounty and if you have any bushels leftover, send them my way.

Wondering how to make celery juice, why it's helpful, how long it will take you to feel its benefits, and if babies and pregnant women can drink celery juice? Or are you curious about the sodium content of celery juice or whether it contains nitrates or oxalates? Or maybe you'd like to add other ingredients to your celery juice but don't know if that is recommended? I want you to get the healing benefits that celery juice can offer when consumed in the right way. So below I have taken 21 of the top questions we receive about celery juice every day and answered them for you. I highly recommend taking the time to read through these questions thoroughly so you can get the most from your celery juice. 1. What is the ideal amount of celery juice to receive the healing benefits? 16 ounces of straight celery juice a day is ideal for receiving its healing benefits. Increasing your intake up to 24 to 32 ounces a day can be extremely beneficial for anyone suffering with chronic illness or symptoms. 2. How much celery is needed to make 16 oz of juice? One large bunch typically makes 16 oz of juice. 3. When is the best time to drink celery juice? The best time to drink celery juice is in the morning on an empty stomach before you consume anything else other than water or lemon water (wait at least 15 to 30 minutes after the lemon before having your celery juice. Celery juice is a medicinal, not a caloric drink, so you’ll still need breakfast afterward to power you through the morning. Simply wait at least 15 to 30 minutes after drinking your celery juice before consuming anything else. If you’re unable to consume your celery juice first thing in the morning before food, then the second-best option is to drink it 15 to 30 minutes before eating something or 30 to 60 minutes after eating something anytime during the day. If you’re having 32 ounces a day, you may wish to have it in two 16 ounce servings. You can drink the first serving in the morning on an empty stomach before eating and the second in the late afternoon or early evening, at least 15 to 30 minutes before eating your next meal. 4. Which juicer do you recommend? Masticating juicers are the best juicers for making celery juice. Greenstar Juicer, Omega Juicer, and Aicok Juicer are all great depending on your budget, but any juicer will work. 5. Does the celery have to be organic? Organic is best, but if you can’t get organic don’t worry. You can purchase conventionally grown celery. Then wash each stalk with a drop of natural fragrance-free dish soap, followed by rinsing in water. If you don’t have natural clear dish soap, give the celery a quick rinse in warm water. Making sure to rinse each stalk. 6. Can I make celery juice ahead of time? It’s best to drink celery juice immediately after juicing. But if you don’t have options other wise, do not let it go past one day (24 hours). If using this option, make sure to seal it in a mason jar, and store in the fridge. 7. Is it okay to add lemon or lime to my celery juice? Celery juice works best on it’s own. Adding other ingredients to the juice will dilute its medicinal properties. This includes lemon, lime, ginger, apple, orange, leafy greens, carrot, beet, or any other ingredient. Wait 15-30 minutes after drinking your celery juice, before consuming anything else. 8. Is there anything that can be added to celery juice to make it more beneficial? Celery juice is a healing tool for the chronically ill. It has healed and continues to heal millions of people worldwide. Sadly, some individuals are now trying to take advantage of the popularity of celery juice by changing the recipe and adding new ingredients so they can call it their own and profit from it. They recommend adding ingredients like collagen, apple cider vinegar, and activated charcoal to celery juice, but these three items all destroy and denature celery juice when added to it, taking away all of its one of a kind healing properties and bringing ingredients into your body that don’t support healing. For the protection of your own health, it’s important you are aware of how misleading and unhelpful these trends are that compromise the purity and power of celery juice. These trends have been started by individuals who don’t even believe in celery juice and the healing properties it possesses. They never knew of its existence as a healing tool until the global celery juice movement I started began to organically reach millions of people because it is so effective at helping to heal all kinds of health symptoms and conditions. These financial investor created trendsetters don’t even know what it is about celery juice that makes it so effective, such as its undiscovered sodium cluster salts that destroy the cell membranes of pathogens so they can be killed off and how the cluster salts rebuild hydrochloric acid. Without knowing how celery juice works and why, they can’t know how to consume it to receive its benefits and how vital it is to not add ingredients such as collagen, apple cider vinegar and, and activated charcoal. Knowing the right way to drink celery juice is critical for you to get its benefits. There are some nutritional compounds that can help activate or enhance the healing properties of celery juice even more. Some of those nutritional compounds include magnesium, l-glutamine and choline for example. 9. Can I just eat celery instead of juicing it? The reason we juice the celery versus eating it is because juicing and removing the pulp (fiber) is the only way to get the powerful healing benefits for healing chronic illness. There is a trend that is now happening that recommends leaving the pulp in the drink and just have blended celery versus celery juice, which removes the fiber. Try not to get misled by this trend. Leaving the pulp in will keep you from receiving the unique healing benefits of celery juice. Eating celery itself is helpful and should be part of your diet, but you will not be able to consume enough celery to get the benefits of juicing it. You wouldn’t be able to receive the concentrated undiscovered cluster salts, that do all of the following: Quickly rebuild your hydrochloric acid so that your stomach can break down protein. If protein isn’t broken down properly it will cause gut rot. Strong hydrochloric acid is important to kill off pathogens entering your mouth. Celery Juice increases and strengthens your bile. Strong bile is important for the break down fats, and for the killing off pathogens; that have made their way into your body. Eating straight celery wouldn’t allow you to get enough of celery’s cluster salts; that acts as antiseptics for pathogens. Celery juice restores your central nervous system. Removes old toxins and poisons, such as: old pharmaceuticals from your liver. 10. Is celery juice okay to consume while pregnant? Yes, celery juice is safe and healthy to consume while pregnant. If you have any concerns, you can consult your doctor. 11. Can breastfeeding women drink celery juice? Celery juice is incredible for breastfeeding. It can provide an abundance of trace minerals, vitamin C and neurotransmitter chemicals such as the undiscovered sodium cluster salts for the baby to develop healthy, strong organs. Celery juice also helps clean and detoxify the breast milk, purifying it so the baby receives the purest breast milk possible. 12. Can babies and children drink celery juice? Yes, celery juice is incredible for the health and development of babies and children. 13. Is it normal to experience a change in bowel movements after drinking celery juice? Some people may experience a change in their bowel movements when starting to consume celery juice. This is a normal detox reaction that some individuals who have a higher level of toxins may experience. Celery juice will kill off unproductive bacteria in the gut and will also help purge the liver. This can result in loose stools as the body pushes out the toxins from a very toxic liver. Almost everyone today has some degree of liver toxicity, which, as I share in my book Liver Rescue, can lead to countless symptoms and conditions. The loose stools will pass as your body heals and you may notice your bowel movements become more regular and healthier than ever. If you find celery juice too cleansing, try 16 oz of straight cucumber juice. Cucumber juice does not have the same benefits celery juice does but it is very gentle and a great choice until you can restart celery juice. 14. Will I experience an increase in symptoms after drinking celery juice? Celery juice is very healing, and the undiscovered sodium cluster salts will begin to kill off pathogens like viruses such as Epstein-Barr and Shingles, as well as bacteria such as Streptococcus inside the body right away. For some people, if they’ve already experienced some symptoms on and off in their life such as fatigue or other symptoms, it’s possible that in some cases these people may temporarily experience symptoms again. These symptoms will be short and brief as the body heals and cleans up. This is a powerful healing step that celery juice can offer for long term future health—WITHOUT symptoms. However, many times when someone reports feeling an increase in symptoms and thinks it’s because of the celery juice, it will actually be because of something else happening in their body, life or diet but the celery juice unfairly takes the blame. It’s important to understand what else could be happening inside the body and how dietary choices and other lifestyle factors could be leading to the increase in symptoms and conditions someone could be experiencing and how to properly support the body to heal. This is what is covered in great depth in my books Liver Rescue, Thyroid Healing, Life-Changing Foods and Medical Medium. It’s never been more critical to empower yourself to become an expert on the true causes of your symptoms and conditions. 15. Is it normal to get bloated after drinking celery juice? Celery juice rapidly speeds up digestion. It does this by prompting the liver to increase bile production, and instantly strengthening the stomach’s hydrochloric acid production. Which then begins to break down old undigested rotting protein, old rancid fats trapped at the bottom of the stomach, and in the small intestinal tract that have been there for decades in everyone. Once these fats and proteins dissolve, bloating tends to go away for almost everyone who is dealing with chronic bloating issues. But for some, a feeling of bloating can occur that can be mild to severe, depending on how toxic someone’s digestive tract has become and how much old rotten undigested debris is in their digestive tract. As these individuals continue to use celery juice the right way long term, the condition and toxicity of their digestive tract will improve and bloating can disappear— as long as their other eating choices are within the guidelines shared in the Medical Medium information. 16. Does celery juice contain oxalates? There is a myth that certain leafy green vegetables and herbs like celery are high in oxalates and are therefore harmful. This is completely incorrect and is preventing many people from getting some powerful and needed nutrients and healing properties provided by foods deemed to be high in oxalates. Oxalates are not the concern they are believed to be. There are oxalates in every single fruit and vegetable on the planet. The vast array of nutrients in so-called high oxalate leafy greens and celery are some of the most nutritious available to us. Medical research and science has not discovered that there are anti-oxalates in fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens that prevent the oxalates from causing us the damage the current trend tells us they do. In reality, these foods don’t cause us any harm, rather they provide us with critical healing nutrients like phytochemicals, vitamins, and minerals. 17. Can I take celery juice powder or celery powder instead of drinking fresh celery juice? No, celery juice powder and celery powder can’t replace fresh celery juice. Celery juice powder and celery powder don’t offer any of the benefits that 16 ounces of fresh straight celery juice can. Selling celery juice powders and putting celery inside supplements is going to become a popular trend as celery juice becomes even more well known and people try to profit off the global celery juice movement that is healing the chronically ill. Try to avoid all of these fads. They are a waste of money and they don’t offer the same healing benefits as drinking straight, fresh celery juice every day. 18. Are there nitrates in celery juice? Celery and celery juice can’t contain any nitrates that are activated or harmful unless the celery has oxidized or been dehydrated. The naturally occurring nitrates in celery don’t exist when the celery or fresh celery juice hasn’t yet oxidized. When fresh celery juice or celery does oxidize, just like when any herb, vegetable or fruit oxidizes, then a naturally occurring nitrate can develop. But this naturally occurring nitrate is also never harmful in any way, shape or form. Celery juice powder and celery powder have oxidized so they can contain naturally occurring nitrates because that developed through the oxidation process. These nitrates are not the same variety of nitrates which are considered to be irritating to some people. It’s important to know that not all nitrates are the same, just like all people are not the same, all water is not the same, all sugar is not the same, and all protein is not the same. For example, gluten is an entirely different protein than the protein inside meat or the protein inside nuts. Also, the naturally occurring nitrates that can develop in an oxidized form of celery such as celery powder and celery juice powder are not the same as the harmful nitrates that are added to meat and all kinds of other products. Also, nitrates are different to nitrites; they’re not the same thing. Even celery powder, which does contain naturally occurring nitrates, can’t be relied upon as a method for curing foods such as pickles or meat because it still doesn't contain nitrites. Fresh celery juice also doesn’t contain nitrites. Anything naturally occurring in celery and celery juice is not harmful. This is the same for pure celery powder and pure celery juice powder. However, harmful nitrates can be added to celery powder or celery juice powder by the company that makes it or uses it in another product. Your fresh celery juice can not have harmful nitrates in it unless you were to add them in yourself. If you don’t drink fresh celery juice because you believe it contains harmful nitrates, then you are unfortunately going to lose the unique healing opportunity fresh celery juice, which does not contain nitrates, can provide. 19. How long does it take to feel the benefits of drinking celery juice? It depends on what condition the person is in. Almost everyone feels benefits of some kind in their first week of drinking celery juice in the right amount and in the right way daily. Many people even feel benefits after their first juice. It all depends on the person and their circumstances, such as their health conditions and symptoms and how toxic and overburdened their liver is with different pathogens and poisons such as pesticides, solvents, herbicides, toxic heavy metals, and all kinds of other chemicals and toxins. (See Liver Rescue for more information on what having a toxic liver means, how common it really is and how to heal your body). If someone is dealing with weight issues, if they have a lot of putrefied and rancid fats in their colon, and/or a lot of bacteria in their intestinal tract such as streptococcus, this will also affect the healing timeline. The amount of stress someone is experiencing in their life, what else they choose to eat and drink in addition to their straight celery juice, and their other lifestyle habits will also play a role in how long it takes for someone to feel the benefits. But most people do feel a difference rather quickly. Some people who have been drinking celery juice for a long time get used to how good or how much better it makes them feel than when they weren't drinking it. Then they stop drinking celery juice temporarily, like many do, and find they don’t feel as good anymore. They realize at this point just how instrumental the celery juice was in helping them feel better. It’s important to know that even if someone doesn’t see or feel the benefits of drinking celery juice quickly, it doesn’t mean the benefits aren’t happening. Everybody who drinks celery juice receives benefits immediately, because the healing powers of celery juice begin working immediately upon entering the body. For some people, it can take a bit of time to see or feel the benefits in a tangible way they can notice, even though the celery juice has been providing healing benefits from the first drink internally. 20. Is there too much sodium in celery juice? All salt is not the same, just like all sugar is not the same. Consuming high fructose corn syrup, which is detrimental to health, is not the same as eating an apple, which can bring healing to the liver and provide a wealth of critical nutrients. So don’t get confused by the idea that all salt is the same, because it’s not. If you hear someone say that there’s too much salt in celery juice, they’re not correct. The sodium cluster groups in celery juice are a subgroup of sodium. Science and research have not even discovered all the variations of trace minerals and subgroups of sodium that reside in celery juice. Sodium cluster salts are healing for the body and we can’t get have enough of them. Sixteen ounces of celery juice on a daily basis provides these sodium cluster salts we so greatly need. Celtic sea salt or Himalayan rock salt are entirely different forms of sodium. No matter how high quality the salt, putting Celtic sea salt or Himalayan rock salt in a drink or on your food is not the same as consuming enough of these undiscovered sodium cluster salts from celery juice. Sodium cluster salts are the only form of sodium that destroys pathogens, helps detox the body and helps restore electrolytes and neurotransmitter chemicals. The sodium in celery juice is a medicinal sodium that’s meant for your bloodstream and your body whereas you need to cautious of consuming too much of the type of sodium that comes in even the highest quality salts. 21. Can I juice celery root instead of celery? No, celery root is a different plant to the large bunches of celery stalks with leaves. Juicing celery root will not provide the same healing benefits. sunken black forest cake
My kids will be at least 25% candy for the rest of the week, as the season demands. If it doesn’t come individually wrapped, if the first, second, or third ingredient isn’t chocolate, a food dye, or high fructose corn syrup, if it doesn’t have a marketing tie-in with Spongebob or Legos, they’re not eating it. Which means, since they’ve now definitely left the room, we get this cake all for us. You’re welcome, because we’re not going to share it anyway.
This whole fall — save a brief but devoted two weeks of apple pie studies — I have craved chocolate almost nonstop, and I don’t mean at perfunctory square of 72% and calling it a day. I mean, chocolate éclairs and chocolate brownies and molten chocolate cakes and chocolate pot de cremes and so when I spied this riff on a black forest cake in Julia Turshen’s new cookbook, Now & Again, I really couldn’t think about anything else until I made it.
We’ve talked about Julia Turshen before. This avocado-cucumber salad remains my favorite thing I’ve spied on the side of a plate on Instagram, ever; these merguez patties are still a weeknight favorite. I’ve always loved the way she assembles meals for friends and family. She so naturally answers the forever question, but what should I serve with it?, that when I learned her new book was built around collections of recipe that both work together but also new recipes to make with their leftovers, I couldn’t wait to dig in. The menus are fun and delightfully unpredictable — Red-Checked Tablecloth Late Saturday Lunch but also a No-Stress Thanksgiving — but my favorite, the one I’d like to believe was written just for me, the girl who loved going to steakhouses when she was a vegetarian because the sides are so good, is the Steak House Dinner for Vegetarians. Maple syrup old fashioned! Wedge salad! Stuffed mushrooms! Charred broccoli! Baked potatoes with horseradish and cheddar! And as a finale: this cake.
Let’s be absolutely clear: this is not a traditional black forest cake. A black forest cake (the German Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte), is a chocolate layer cake sandwiched with whipped cream and boozy cherries, finished with shaved chocolate and more cherries. It’s fancy. It’s complex. We’ll make one… one day. But this is for today, with everything good about the layer cake, abbreviated: a fudgy-centered, puffy-edged flourless chocolate cake that sinks in the center after it bakes. This space perfectly allows for a raft of barely sweetened whipped cream. And then, instead of imagining for a moment that anyone wishes to chase down sour cherries in October, she recommends using storebought cherry preserves and adding kirsh. I found several online; this was my favorite (it reminded me of Luxardo cocktail cherries) but there are plenty of other great ones out there. Honestly, the cake doesn’t “need” it — it works without the cherry sauce — but it’s so good, I do. Grownups need candy too.

This recipe is adapted from the flourless chocolate cake in the Buvette cookbook, a project Turshen worked on. However, in the Buvette, the recipe has more butter and sugar; in Turshen’s book, it has less. When I tested it, my happy place was in the middle — too little sugar and the cake was dry, too much and the sweetness of the preserves overwhelm — and that’s what I’ve shared below. The kirsh in the cherries both loosens them and gives them a little kick. If you don’t have it, try light rum. If you don’t use either, try a tablespoon each of lemon juice and water.
Cake
12 tablespoons (170 grams or 6 ounces) unsalted butter, cubed
12 ounces semi- or bittersweet chocolate chips (2 cups), or chopped chocolate
6 large eggs, separated
1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, distilled white vinegar, or apple cider vinegar
3/4 cup (150 grams) granulated sugar, divided
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
To finish
3/4 cup heavy cream
2 teaspoons granulated sugar, or more to taste
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour or regular cherry preserves
2 tablespoons kirsch (sour cherry brandy, optional)
Make the cake: Heat butter and chocolate together until about 75% melted in the microwave or over the lowest heat in a saucepan. Remove from heat and stir until it’s finished melting and is smooth. Let it cool while you prepare the rest of the cake.
Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat the bottom and sides of a 9-inch round cake pan with nonstick cooking spray and line the bottom with a circle of parchment paper. Set it aside.
Place egg whites in the bowl a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, in a large bowl and use a handheld electric mixer, or use a large whisk and a lot of elbow grease. Beat on medium-high speed until they’re foamy, then slowly pour in the lemon juice and half the sugar, continuing to beat until the egg whites are billowy and almost glossy and hold a soft peak. This is important: try not to overbeat them until they’re stiff and tight foam-looking; it leads to more dry cakes. Set the egg whites aside (if you only have one stand mixer bowl, scrape them into a separate bowl so you can use it again).
Place the egg yolks, remaining sugar, and salt into an empty bowl and beat on medium speed until thick and pale yellow, about 1 to 2 minutes. With the mixer running, slowly pour in the chocolate-butter mixture, and mix well. Use a rubber spatula to fold one-third of the beaten egg whites into the chocolate cake batter to lighten in. Fold half the remaining egg whites in carefully, then the second half. Turshen says to fold them into the batter by “cutting your spatula downward through the middle of the bowl, scraping it along the bottom of the bowl, and then pulling the mixture back up… folding them with the batter.”
Transfer batter to prepared cake pan and smooth the surface. Bake until the center is puffed up, and just barely firm/dry to the touch, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few dry crumbs clinging to it, about 35 to 40 minutes. Try not to overbake it (the chocolate at the edges will smell toasty) or that cake can taste dry at the edges. Place the cake on a wire rack to cool completely; it will sink in the center.
To finish: Once cake is completely cool, beat the cream, sugar, and vanilla together until medium peaks form (I overbeat mine, whoops). In a small bowl, combine combine the preserves and kirsh.
Use a knife to loose then edges of the cake from the pan and invert it onto your rack. Peel off parchment paper, then invert it back onto a serving plate. Spoon the whipped cream into the center and then the preserves mixture on top. Cut into wedges and serve.
Do ahead: Leftovers keep covered in the fridge for 3 days, however, if the cherry-cream appearance doesn’t look great after a couple hours, although this has no effect on taste. To avoid this, you can just put the cherries on as you’re serving the cake in slices.
