Небольшие фа��ты и пояснения по персонажам

Волкер по профессии военный вертолетчик боевого вертолета. Получил награду за храбрость и героизм во время боевых действий на Унонтине по очистке от террористов, держащих под контролем половину материка. Второго пилота убили прямо в вертолете, из-за чего Волкеру пришлось взять на себя роль и пилота, и стрелка. После посадки самолета, т.к. тот был сильно поврежден, пошел в одиночку с оружием, зачистив целое поселение недоброжелателей.

Волкер на постоянной основе агрессивен и без настроения. Его никто и никогда не видел улыбающимся или не слышал его смеха, только ворчание, крик и команды.

У Волкера имеется ручной попугай - голубой ара, которого спасли от браконьеров, и тот решил пристроить птицу себе.

Волкер курильщик, при сильном гневе выкуривает сразу две сигареты.

Волкер родился и вырос на Унонтине, его семья переселилась на материк из-за работы.

По национальности Лин американка китайского происхождения, метиска.

С 13 лет Лин стала изучать программирование и кибербезопасность, в 16 поступила на хакера в университет и окончила обучение в 19 лет. В 20 смогла взломать и найти людей, причастных к торговле наркотика "БлэкХарт", после чего ей пришло приглашения от Эвилины в отряд J.R.P.

Лин не стесняется доставлять дискомфорт людям своим поведением, а именно переходя личные границы, а иногда даже пугая тем, что знает слишком много. По большей части она донимает ��олько мужскую часть отряда, даже Волкера она не боится и ей нравится его побесить. Но особый интерес у нее вызывает Кидем из-за его неизвестности и излишней скромности.

Лин довольно высокого мнения о себе.

У Лин есть свой спортивный мотоцикл с встроенной электроникой и переносным компьютером.

I love To Be Hero X's first arcs. Impersonating a dead guy and you become him. Impersonating an alive guy and you become him. And then it's the messy work of clawing your way out of these bodies, these identities you've stolen. I am enjoying every minute of the horrors, guys. Who are you? Are you real? Are you sure?

Ok after Yang Cheng’s arc and seeing the episode 8 preview, I’m getting the sense that the reason Lin Ling’s arc came first even though I’ve heard that chronologically he’s the last is because he embodies what every one of these heroes want/wanted to be: a nobody doing good things for the sake of helping others.

A commoner, you might say.

And by placing him first, making him — someone who ultimately went against Ms. J (our representative for hero society and how it molds heroes through *ding ding ding* capitalism induced manipulation) and came out the other side still himself doing what he wanted to do as a commoner — the first character we the audience interact with, we now get to see how all the other heroes didn’t get to do that.

We’ve seen how the system can be fought against, and now we get to see how it wins.

Thinking about the reason Lin Ling has more passive-aggressive fierce than Yang Cheng is because he's an office worker 💀 Lin Ling is 100% skilled in shit-talking about his boss on the roof or wishing to smite someone when being forced to take on more work due to incompetent coworkers/short staff.

Yang Cheng is a uni student, who is constantly shot down over and over again due to having 0 trust value. He became accustomed to flopping over because it never worked out if he tried to fight back for himself. He's more comfortable acting on stage behind a mask because it's not him being on display, it's E-Soul.

So basically Yang Cheng is, "Ah... I asked for no pickles, but it's fine I'll eat it."

And L0 is, "Excuse me, he asked for no pickles."

COMMONSOUL for everyone who wants Lin Ling to best the sense back into Yang Cheng! (All hail the toxic yaoi and the fact tht LL resembles many of YC's loved ones who are either dead or he left behind)

Also the aged up Yang Cheng is giving both twink death after the horrors (oh my shaylaa) but at least it gives Lin Ling more hair to pull.

Something about love and masks in TBHX...

E-Soul not taking off his mask signifies his commitment to the people’s trust.

But for Yang Cheng, him removing his mask signifies his love for Xia Qing.

Same thing with Lin Ling. The moment “Xiao Yueqing” was in danger, he readily threw away the Nice persona. But then he met Xiao Yueqing as himself, and the latter immediately died.

Wreck also removed his mask when he looked for Nice. Meanwhile, Nice never had to wear a mask around Wreck… Now, they’re both assumed dead.

I think…the principle TBHX wants to tell us is that loving any one person is detrimental to being a hero.

When Lin Ling went down to save Xiao Yueqing, he essentially chose her over the millions of people who trust in him. To love her was betraying everybody else and losing his trust value. Although he later regained his trust value because of his willingness to sacrifice himself for her, imagine if the situation had been more extreme. What if the situation was Lin Ling having to choose between Xiao Yueqing’s safety and the safety of millions of random supporters? Would he have chosen the one person he loves or saved the lives of many others?

A hero, therefore, must never love another like a partner. Because a hero’s love cannot ever be for just one person. It’s for everyone.

If Lin Ling’s thesis statement is “anyone can be a hero”, then Yang Cheng is the rebuttal that it comes at a price.

LL got handed his position because of Nice’s death, but YC had to literally claim his through murder. They did very similar things; Yang Cheng’s story just showed it all in its full ugliness.

That’s why Moon had to die. Heroes need to sacrifice. Lin Ling doesn’t just get to “cheat”—he has to suffer in order to earn it.

That’s Yang Cheng’s argument, and that’s also why Yang Cheng had to do it.

(It’s also why if LL kills YC in the end, he’ll only prove him right.)
