Look back challenge Day 6 (which also doubles as my Day 5): Any you're thinking of getting rid of?

The SDCC 2019 She-Ra and Shadow Weaver Doll set is so far my only buying regret and the only dolls i've ever considered getting rid of.

For backstory, around june 2023 I hit up the Mattel store at their San Bernardino warehouse, with this store being more of a dead stock store. They had a whole pallet filled with these SDCC She-Ra Sets. That same day they were also having a half off sale, so that plus me signing my email up w/ them and getting a discount brought the price down to $20

I got them because I got 2 of the retail release She-Ra's back in 2019 and really liked them despite their Poly hair. I got this set not knowing these 2 also had Poly hair. I didn't find that out until way latter, still having yet opening them and that info causing them to stay in box. Had I known beforehand I wouldn't have gotten them, & they're just sitting in my closet taking space.

Day 6: Any (dolls) you're thinking of getting rid of?

If I was going to get rid of any, it'd be this white haired rainbow high doll and these hairdorables.

The Hairdorables belonged to my niece when she was little, but she stopped playing with them. The Rainbow High doll is just something I picked up super cheap at an auction. She's pretty but I've never been all that interested in Rainbow High, other than the alien one.

Kind of related, I also want to get rid of these little pets and accessories that every doll seems to come with now (but they can't include a stand 🙄). I've started gluing them onto a wreath.

Day 16: Customs from other people

So I dont have any made by others but this was a custom made snail pin cushion for my friend if that counts!

LBM 3: A toy you love, but rarely, if ever, photograph.

These are some plushes from my little collection of new beanie babies and beanie bellies (which I madly fell in love with over last year). Honestly most of my collection is rarely photographed because most of it is in storage still but I'm counting these for the challenge since I've not really photographed my plush collection at all yet. Yes, they're all on my 'desk' and yes, it's getting crowded lol. I'm also exactly the type of person that gets attached easily which is how this collection began, with me simply holding the red beanie baby in a store and needing to take it home.

Look Back Challenge 2025: Day 6

Not selling/thinking of selling any dolls atm so here are some I won't ever sell as they're so damn cute!!!

These are the Antu Dreamlike Tea Party blind box centaurs; I bought the pink and brown ones first, decided I needed more and bought lavender and green as well. They have a permanent spot on the bookshelf in the living room and are the only dolls that live downstairs:)

2025's ides of march illustration!

I've been doing one a year since the 2022 presidential election*, so. you know! keeping up with the thematic tradition. sometimes politicians compare themselves to caesar crossing the rubicon and you just gotta. process that. do an annual re read of a bunch of different literature that use the ides as their stage. go through commentary on dante's divine comedy. watch a production of julius caesar. for unrelated reasons, ofc.

(*other countries besides america have elections)

it's also funny how people will debate whether or not the optimates/conspirators/whatever were ungrateful assholes in my inbox whenever I post one of these, like the ides of march hasn't been a well established narrative that people have been using to explore other stuff for centuries. take it to an academic conference! we have empire and autocracy and absolutely batshit press conferences to discuss!!

hey there!! i'd been checking this blog for a while, and I really wanted to say you're a great source of inspiration haha! I really love your dog characters and your lore! The amount of research and dedication is really amazing!! about ludovica's gf, do you mind if I come in with my vision as well? I think she'd be a really fluffy dog, maybe with curly hair. so my mind went to the portuguese water dog; but then i thought of two versions: long hair and short hair. so i drew both (tried my best to make her look like a lady and not a grandpa haha)

Look Back Challenge 2025: Day 4 Childhood toys!

I have several so took pics of ones I don't photograph a lot and even then had to do 2 pics -plushies and dolls:)

I didn't include horses/MLP/ Barbie dolls as they'd have been a several more pictures plus it would have been more work pulling them all out and putting them back than I had energy for 😅

look back month challenge, day 17: most interesting or unusual toy

i love non-horse centaurs. i mean, horse centaurs also, but back when i made customs, it was one of my favorite things to go around thrift stores to find cheap toys that were in monster high centaur butt scale. i still have a box of various hybrids in weird limbo where the bodies are assembled, but i'm not sure if i'm ever going to finish the dolls. might make some of them as bjds eventually.
