What I think is in your bag based on your moon sign?

Hellooo! So I’m making this post because I’ve noticed some patterns in people’s bags based on their moon signs and I felt like it’s worth getting shared. Lemme just say I am studying now for my exams (finals week or my final week). I swear if I open that exam paper and the first question covers exactly what I didn’t study, I will slowly close that paper and cry. I can’t even think about cheating, cause these invigilators WILL BE sniffing me up the ass just to see if my calculator is programmable or not. First exam tmrw so wish me luck guys!
These observations are based on my personal experiences so don’t take it as full facts. These placements can also be influenced by other things in someone’s chart like degrees, houses and aspects. Also if u have any suggestions for what content you’d like to see feel free to let me know. English is not my first language lads so don’t drag me for grammatical errors. xoxo

Aries moon: I think for you guys, it’s like an organised mess. U might throw stuff in one day and then forget ab it only to reach a month later in your bag and go “owwww, so this is where it was!”. I also noticed that they r weirdly prepared for a lot of things, like u have randomly spare chargers or tissues or in general useful stuff that u didn’t necessarily planned for, but rather gathered over time and never got rid off. If u carry paper with u, its almost always wrinkled or ripped, please get a nice folder.
Taurus moon: these people will carry things that make them feel comfortable. Expect things like, wet tissues in case their hands are dirty or perfumes. They r the type to carry extra makeup in case they need to retouch during the day. They tend to have heavier bags bc they will carry half of their home with them (but they will rlly only use a quarter of their things they bring). They r the type to prepare their bag once and not rlly change much in it. Like they will have all the things they feel they need and won’t ever switch it.
Gemini moon: these people can go two ways depending on where they r going. If the go to work/school they will actually carry all their books and utensils (they never work as well). They might also have heavier bags due to the amount of materials they bring with them (ease up love, u prolly don’t even use them all at once). If they go out, god knows their purses are a mystery. These people might prefer smaller bags over bigger ones. In their bags u will 100% find things like forgotten gum, random cookies or snacks, pieces of paper with random stuff on them, etc.
Cancer moon: for these people, their bags will hold high significance. I would say they might carry things that they feel connected to. For each person it varies. I know some cancer moons that love to carry medicine with them in case the ones around them get a bit sick, some that carry snacks in case they feel hungry, some that carry little trinkets that remind them of some special memories, etc. (u get the point). All of the cancer moons I know also carry tissues with them.
Leo moon: u guys will 100% carry a rlly cute pocket mirror w u. These people will have things in their bag that they will use to help retouch themselves during the day. U might even carry spare earrings or possibly even have random jewellery in ur bag. Designer wallet! Every Leo moon I know has a designer wallet (sometime it’s empty). They r more prone to have luxury products in their bag.
Virgo moon: organised folders, high quality pens and paper. They r over packers. They have everything! I am very close w a Virgo moon and whenever we go out and I need smth, they have it. Breath spray, gum, tissues, notebooks, pens, id, extra jacket, etc. They r prepared and so is their wallet. They cannot leave the house empty handed, it’s illegal for them. I’m not sure what they r called, but all Virgo moons I know have that all purpose pocket tool thing, the Swiss pocket knife.
Libra moon: these people will have a very balanced bag. What I mean by that is that they will have an equal amount of stuff that is practical and stuff that is just there as an extra. They r also fairly prepared but in a more chill way. They have some good essentials that never leave their bag. Makeup is a must. Also they always have quite nice pens. I’ve noticed some even have things in that serve no purpose, like a small plushie that they like or a random sticker that they just keep there.
Scorpio moon: they do carry crystals with them. A lot of Scorpio moons people I know are nicotine enjoyers, but even if they aren’t they do carry a lighter with them. Their bag is honestly everywhere. They will have the most random things inside. Kinda messy but in an endearing way. They r the type of people that if u asked them “i know u prolly don’t, but do u maybe have squiggly scissor?”, they will pull that exact unexped object out.
Sagittarius moon: these people r carrying their ID with them just in case they want to do smth impromptu. Expect a good book or maybe a kindle. Journals! Mints! Wired earbuds and an old music player because they swear it sounds different. They might have a good luck charm that never leaves their bag. Sometime even concert or festival bracelets.
Capricorn moon: everything here has a purpose. My sister is literally a cap moon and I haven’t seen her carry more than necessary. Even if it’s going out just to chill, pure essentials (like she leaves the house with lipgloss and a phone). For school, this girl carries every book, every notebook, nice pens, iPad, id, wallet, etc. Bags are not intentionally heavy. If they r heavy that means that they simply need a lot of things.
Aquarius moon: random receipts and pieces of junk. Tangled headphones. My friend always needs her headphones. If she forgot them at home she’d go back just to get them. Lighters and almost always tarot cards. These people have hard to pin down bags. They just vibe out their day and splash wtv inside. If they go to work/school they can never find anything in that bag, “I swear I put my pen somewhere here, where tf is itttt”, I think I heard that so much.
Pisces moon: they will get emotionally attached to a bag and the things inside. U guys also r the type to carry good essentials in ur bag. I noticed the amount of sugar pack these people have in their bags is insane. They r the type to take those free complementary sugar/toothpicks/salt packs they give at restaurants. I am very close to a Pisces moon and every single time I sit down with them, they rob half the table. Love y’all tho, cause they will take it, but they will share it w u.

I hope u guys liked this as well! I am planning on doing another astrocartography post soon, so keep an eye out for that! Till next time stay healthy and glowing! xoxo

be my angel | two - still august 1991

Be My Angel Masterlist Masterlist
Let me know if you want to be tagged in future updates <3
The fan whirrs in the background as Teddie stirs her yogurt. The apartment has been so awfully quiet since Angie had left. It’s been two weeks, but somehow it feels eternally longer and shorter at the same time. It’s been a good two weeks, Noah had stopped making fun of her New Kids On The Block tapes and instead had decided that he would “educate” her. He’d made lists of albums for her, made tapes for her to take on the go. And in a way, Teddie was thankful that he’d somewhat taken her under his wing. She’d started to get a little tired of the same old same old pop tunes and so far, what Noah had provided her with had not disappointed. It was nice to have someone who would show her new things, and Noah had been so incredibly helpful when it came to that. In the month that she had known him, she’d already learned more than in the entire year that she had already spent in New York.
Not being confined to the wall of her dorm room with people she couldn’t stand the sight of was a relief. And although Teddie still found herself questioning if she had even made the right decision in coming here in the first place, she was starting to feel a little more at home.
She turned the crystal case over to check the name of the album once again. Isn’t Anything. The washed out, over exposed photo on the cover stared back at her. The music is noisy, distorted in a way that Noah assures her is intentional. And even though the vocals are quiet and sometimes indistinguishable from the noise surrounding them, Teddie feels as if she understands all of it. She makes a note of the song that plays in her little notebook, so that she can come back to it again later. Noah will want to hear what she enjoyed about it and what didn’t work for her. It’s a fun little evening activity.
The album continues to drone in the background as she cleans up her breakfast. It’s nice to have a quiet morning for once. She’s gotten so used to having to rush everywhere over the summer that it almost feels wrong to have nowhere to go. Having a day off work is a real luxury, one that she’ll miss dearly when the semester really picks up again. She’s already dreading the long nights in the studio again, but maybe she can arrange her times in such a way that she can get her work done together with Noah. Teddie has come to enjoy working with him. They’ll spend their evenings silently working next to each other, and really she likes knowing that she could always ask him for his opinion on what she’s working on.
She has different plans for today, though. Teddie has been pushing this call off for long enough now, and the sooner she gets it over with, the better. Her momma had not been impressed when she’d first told her that she would move into an apartment with a man. Teddie knows that it’s mostly out of concern for her safety, and really she’d love for her to meet Noah at some point. Noah induces about as much fear in people as a little baby bunny, she thinks. He’s a darling, and Angie wouldn’t have suggested this if Noah wouldn’t be a good person.
Teddie slumps down in the armchair next to the landline. Knowing her mother, she’ll be here for a while. In the dormitory, she’d have to sit on the ground next to the phone while her mother prattled on about the goings-on at home. At least now, she can curl up in the slightly stiff armchair Angie had apparently dragged up the stairs all on her own one day. She dials the number out of sheer muscle memory, and a small part of her still expects to hear her daddy's voice on the other end. It still surprises her when he’s not the one that picks up.
He’d been so very proud of her – so excited to see his little girl moving to the big city. Her father had been her biggest supporter from day one, he’d marvelled at every little crayon drawing she’d presented him with. Not that her mother hadn’t given her that excitement, but he’d always made her feel extra special.
A brief tinge of disappointment fills her when she hears her mother’s voice instead.
“I was just thinking of you, honey.” the warm twang in her voice instantly makes her feel at home again.
“I have the day off, thought I’d use the chance to call.” she explains, twirling the cord around her finger, “How’s Brian?”
And that sets off a thirty-minute long tirade about her brother’s shenanigans. While older than her, Brian was by no means more responsible. Brian had always caused more chaos than good – none of it had been malicious, but he quickly made a name for himself as the local daredevil. And apparently it had not gotten better since she had left.
“Michael, on the other hand – he’s been talking to Gracie a lot recently.” her mother adds finally, and that makes Ted perk up.
“Grace?”
She’d gone to school with Grace, they’d been friends for the longest time. But about a year before they’d graduated, she’d decided that Teddie wasn’t good enough company any more and had turned her back on her. It had been fine for the most part, but hearing that she now talks to her brother – because Teddie knows what her mother means when she says talk — makes her question things a lot more.
“Tell me about you, though. Are you well? How is this new place you’re living in now?”
Teddie tells her about Angie's farewell party and conveniently leaves out the amount of drinks she’d had or the looks one of the boys kept throwing her way. She tells her about how kind Noah and his friends have been to her, how welcoming they've been. The conversation quickly steers back to Teddie and her absence from home. She says that it’s because of work and all the assignments, but that’s only partially the truth. Going home hasn’t been something she’s looked forward to since the funeral. The house is still her home, but the distant ache in her chest still makes it feel so empty. It’s been just under eight months since she’s been home, and in a way she does feel bad. But the truth is that home hasn’t felt like home since that day. When she’d stepped foot into that house, it had suddenly become the place where he had passed and not the place where their height was marked on the door frame in the kitchen.
She tells her mother that she’ll come home for Christmas, that school is keeping her too busy to visit. Between her work for school, the babysitting and the café, she barely had time to sleep over the summer. The city turned out to be a lot more expensive than she had anticipated.
She promises her momma that she’ll call more often, that she’ll send pictures of the apartment and of Noah. The call ends when Brian falls into the door, yells something about how Mikey almost crashed the car – again.
Ted sets to cleaning up their dishes, Noah has a tendency to leave his cups scattered all over the place, and it feels a little like the egg hunt at Easter. She takes her time, going through her little routine for once. She’ll get through more of her work before she’ll head out to get an early dinner with Noah. In a few short hours, she’ll have to take pictures of a band she knows nothing about, and her insides are already rioting about it.
By now, Ted feels somewhat comfortable navigating this part of the city. She doesn’t feel entirely out of place any more, but even then Noah still manages to show her new shortcuts. When they’re not working on their little projects, they spend their evenings in the various bars of the neighbourhood with a constantly changing cast of friends.
Her feet find their way to the record store on their own. And soon the hanging sign comes into view.
Teddie pushes her way into the store. The bell above the door dings, but as always it is almost drowned out by the music they’re subjecting their customers to. She’ll have to ask Noah what this one is called later.
She spots Noah sorting through one of the displays, although his focus seems to be on something – or rather someone – else entirely. When she follows his eyeline, she finds Jesse leaning against the counter as he talks to another customer. Noah appears to be entirely entranced by the other man, and there’s a brief moment of curious confusion in her mind before Ted comes to the conclusion that Noah has been nothing but kind to her. It’s only right that she extends that same kindness to him now. And really, she doesn’t even know if that is what’s going on between them. And if it is, why should she get upset about her friends' happiness?
She’s only ever known of one boy in her class who’d been into boys. To this day, Teddie wishes that she’d been a little bit braver when she’d seen how cruel the others had been to him sometimes.
Ted is shaken out of her trance when Jesse claps his hands and throws his head back in delighted laughter. She chances another glance at Noah, and the dreamy look on his face tells her everything she needs to know.
She makes her way across the floor towards him. He jumps a little when she places her hand on his shoulder.
“Jesus, Ted.” he gasps, “You can’t scare a guy like that.”
“I’ve been in here for five minutes.” she replies with a laugh, “You’ve just been preoccupied.”
A faint pink fluster grazes across his cheeks. Noah quickly shakes himself out of it, though.
“I still have thirty. Have a little browse, I’ll hurry up.” he says curtly before returning to the CDs he must have been sorting through before Jesse caught his eye.
Maybe she shouldn’t have said something after all.
Ted spends the spare time she has been awarded browsing the well-stocked inventory. She still doesn’t know who actually owns the store. She knows for sure that it isn’t Noah, and she’s sure that it’s not Jesse either. The owner appears to be conveniently absent, though. The pair of them do a very good job with the stock, she thinks. Most of the titles she thumbs through are entirely new to her.
She finds herself digging through the cassette tapes, searching for something that’ll catch her eye. Teddie’s halfway to giving up when she spots it.
Ladies of the Canyon.
It’s the exact same one her dad had played for them. She hasn’t played it in years. The tape had stayed with him in Brevard when she had first left, and when she had come back for the funeral, she had avoided it like the plague. Finding it now feels a little like fate. If she wouldn't know better, she’d think that it actually was the tape from home.
She decides then that it’ll come home with her. It’ll be nice to immerse herself in it now that she’s a little older.
Noah is still busy with his tasks when she comes up to the register. Jesse quickly slides into the view in front of her, both hands posted up on the counter.
“Found something?” he asks.
Ted has found a good chunk of comfort in the familiar lilt of his accent.
“Just this.” she slides the tape across the counter.
Jesse flips it around so that he can inspect the cover. He makes an affirming noise before pushing it back to her.
“Excellent pick.” he concludes, “Noah’s getting you into the good things, huh?”
She scoffs, shaking her head, “My dad’s favourite. Haven’t listened to it in ages.”
He seems somewhat amused by her brash response, “I’m only joking, Ted. Joni isn’t his style. If anything, you gotta get him into her.”
They talk for a moment longer, mostly exchanging the gripes with Noah’s occasionally pretentious choices in music.
“He’s a rich kid from the city,” Jesse concludes, “He has to compensate his lack of edge with something.”
Ted tries her hardest not to laugh out loud.
Not a moment later does Noah appear from the backroom with his painted on cotton bag slung over his shoulder. He’d made her leave her mark on it, too. After agonising about it for a while, she’d settled on a little bundle of daisies, painted in thread, in the bottom left of it.
“Come on, I’m starving.” he says, throwing an arm over her shoulder, “Are you coming to eat with us?”
Jesse thinks for a moment before he shakes his head, “Still have to do some bookkeeping,” he shoots Noah a half-serious frown, “I’ll catch up with you at the show.”
Noah gives him a curt nod, “I see how it is. You don’t want to hang out with us.”
Their banter continues for a while longer, and Ted feels like an intruder in a private moment. Eventually, though, Noah steers them towards the door. She lets him walk her out of the store and back out onto the streets.
They’ve been to this diner plenty of times before, usually when she picks him up from work or when Noah drags her out of the studio at what he claims to be a ludicrously late hour. It’s a nice little family run place with cobbled together decor and friendly faces behind the counter. In the bustle of the city, it feels like a small slice of home.
The two of them find their usual booth by the window. And they’re barely seated when the waitress comes to take their orders.
One pastrami sandwich,
One cheeseburger - no tomatoes
Fries to share
One vanilla milkshake
One chocolate
The usual things.
And it really dawns on her. The show is only a couple of hours away now. She still knows virtually nothing about the band. Noah has told her the name – Hollow – and that there’s three of them. Teddie has tried multiple times to get Noah to tell her more, but he’s always brushed her off with the same blasé answer.
She won’t give in so easily now.
“You have to experience them on stage.” Noah offers.
It’s the same unsatisfying answer as always.
“This isn’t painting them in the best light, you know?”, Ted replies, tossing a fry into her mouth.
Noah shakes his head, “I just think that you need to meet them. What if what I tell you gives you a wrong impression?”
“These people are your friends, right?”
“That’s the problem!” Noah exclaims, “I want you to like them. And if I tell you that Nick is a grumpy asshole on occasion, it sounds as if she’s like that all the time. He’s just y’know. Matt has a fucked up sense of humour, but it’s just that. He’s actually a good guy. And you’ll like Jolly any way. I haven’t met anyone who doesn’t like him. He just is a little protective of the band sometimes.”
“See, that wasn’t so hard.” Noah throws a fry at her, “Matt is on drums, right?”
He nods, before he repeats the line-up of the band yet again. Ted feels a little more prepared for the evening. She’s still full of anxiety over it, but she doesn’t feel terrified of it any more.
The walk from the diner to the bar where the show will be isn’t that long. Noah takes the time to tell her about how he and Nick met in the first place. He tells her about the time Nick had rushed into the record store almost two years ago, asking if there was a space for the band's very first demo. Not even to sell, just for people to take it. Noah had to call the number on the back of the tape three days later because they’d already run out of CDs.
They turn a corner onto a different block. Ted spots the bar immediately. There’s a group of people gathered in front of it already, and even from the distance she can smell the cigarette smoke. As they get closer, the thumping noise starts to turn into music. The buzzing in her ears grows with every step they take. This crowd looks nothing like the people back home. There’s more tattooed skin on this stretch of road than she has ever seen at home.
Noah wraps a hand around her bicep, stopping Ted dead in her tracks.
“Some people in there look a little scary. They’re all great, though. Stick with me and you’ll be fine.” Noah says soft, “We’ll go straight to the dressing room.”
Teddie only manages to give him a nod before he’s practically speeding them towards the entrance of the bar. As they pass people, various shades of hello are thrown towards Noah. Once again it feels as if everyone knows him and she still doesn’t understand how he manages to be so social.
As soon as they’ve trudged down the narrow stairs, a waft of what Teddie knows to be beer floods through her senses. The place reeks of it. Something sweet and bitter mingles in between it and the cigarette smoke. Teddie doesn’t know what it is, and she isn’t sure that she likes it. Her shoes stick to the concrete floor with every step. The conversations and music around them are almost overwhelming. She clings to Noah’s arm as if she’s a toddler trying not to lose her momma again.
The further they get into the bar, the more crowded the place seems to become. She wraps her other hand around the strap of her camera bag, although it’s far too crowded for whoever would try to grab it to get very far.
Noah looks back at her and shakes his head, “Loosen up a little, everyone here is cool.”
He steers her towards a door on the far end of the long, rectangular room. He knocks twice before shoving the door open just far enough for them to squeeze through.
“Don’t let anyone give you shit. They’re great most of the time.” Noah says with a wink that makes her want to shove her fist into his gut.
The room Ted finds herself in is just as cramped as the bar it’s attached to. It’s tiny and stuffed with furniture that seems to be third-hand at least. The same sweet-bitter smell fills her nose, and she has to bite back a cough.
“Gentlemen,” Noah claps his hands, “Gentleman.” he corrects himself when he notices that only one person is in the room, “This is your photographer.”
He moves to stand behind her, holding her by the shoulders.
The man on the sofa looks up at her. The grim look on his face makes her take a step back, making her bump against Noah’s chest.
“I thought you said you had someone with experience and not one of your little friends.” he speaks with an accent she can’t quite place.
“Ted knows what she’s doing.” Noah sounds actually upset this time, “It’s not like you can afford to be picky.”
The man shakes his head, “You can explain this one to Nick. I’m not getting you out of this one.”
Teddie feels awfully out of place. There’s an uncomfortable sting in her chest. This almost rejection feels terrible, and it makes her want to head right back home.
“You don’t have to get me out of anything at all.”
Noah fixes him with that stubborn glare that she’s been subjected to a few times already. She observes the staring match for a moment longer, before she clears her throat.
“Are you done?” Teddie finds herself asking, as if she has any kind of authority here, “I can go if you don’t want me here. But Noah made it sound as if you need someone, so make up your mind.”
“I’m gonna go find Matt.” he mumbles then, before pushing past them and out into the main space of the bar.
Ted assumes that this has to be Jolly – despite what Noah had told her about the guy. She tries to push this first interaction to the side for now. Tempers seem to be high tonight, and she’s willing to give him another chance.
Noah slumps down on one of the sofas. Ted remains rooted to the ground for a moment longer. She doesn’t get to ask Noah what’s in the water today, as the moment she opens her mouth to ask, a door she hadn’t noticed yet creaks open. It stops at the halfway point. A quiet curse sounds from behind, before another stranger pushes into the room. He curses when one of the pins on his denim jacket gets catches on the door, and somewhat clumsily tries to force his arm through the door to release it. Ted notices the bag lodged in front of the door and rushes forward to move it out of the way.
“Shit. Thanks.” his voice sounds a lot softer now.
He’s all kind eyes, and it takes her a moment too long to tear her eyes away from him.
“Noah!”
The way his face lights up when he spots the other man across her shoulder is truly delightful. Noah is up and next to them in no time. She isn’t sure who pulls who into a hug, but watching them embrace eases the ache in her chest just a little bit more. Ted feels as if she’s witnessing a long awaited reunion. She decides to take a step back, to give them a little bit of space.
They part a moment later, still remaining fairly close to each other.
“Glad to see that you made it.” he holds Noah by the shoulders so that he can inspect, “New ink looks good. Who is your friend?”
“This is Ted.” Noah takes a step back, “Ted, this is Nick.”
He gives her a more conscious once over, stops here and there before he breaks into a small smile.
“So you’re our photographer, huh?” she nods, “We’ll see if you’re as good as Noah made you sound.”
It’s not malicious, more laced with curiosity and genuine interest. There’s a glint in his eye that Ted can’t place yet, but she has a feeling that he’s going to be trouble. She doesn’t know what it is about him, but she knows that it won’t end well.
They talk for a while and Ted forces herself to push the thought that she is intruding away, so that she can actually do what she was asked to do. She manages to snap a couple of pictures of Nick and Noah catching up, before the door to the bar flies open yet again.
“Dumb if you ask me.” who she assumes to be Matt says as he marches into the room.
He pauses when he spots the two newcomers in the room and gives Noah a curt nod. But when he turns towards Ted his brows crinkle in confusion.
“Who’s that? Groupie?”
A sharp smack lands against his back. Noah lets out a half snorted laugh when he stumbles forward a little.
“Did I not just tell you about her.” Jolly sounds genuinely exhausted with him, “Talk about dumb one more time.”
There’s a little more catching up, before the band is informed that it’s almost time for them to go on. Ted takes a final moment to gather herself before she braves the bar again. Noah is hot on her heels when she steps outside the dingy excuse of a dressing room.
“I’ll be at the bar with Jesse if you need me. You’ll be fine, watch out for the crowd surfers. I love you, make me proud.” he rattles on before he presses a slightly too wet kiss on her forehead.
A second later he’s gone from her view.
It’s not long before the lights dim down and the crowd roars with yells and applause. In the dim light, she can make out the shape of Jolly strumming a first tentative chord. And then she hears him. Teddie hadn’t thought about what his singing voice would be like. She gives herself a moment to adjust, take in the sights and sounds of this comparatively slow beginning.
When she finally snaps out of her trance, Ted pulls her camera up to her face. She works her way up to the stage, capturing – or rather trying her best to – the band as they slip into their second song. Noah had told her that they’d just put out their first full album, but it still feels as if everyone in the room knows the words to the songs. Even though the guitars sound harsh at first, Ted quickly finds herself infected by the energy in the room. The almost shy demeanour Nick had exhibited earlier in the dressing room is nowhere to be found now. And in a way, she now understands what Noah meant when he said that she’d have to experience them like this. If all she had seen of Nick had been the boy in the dressing room, she never would have thought of him as the frontman of a band like this. But seeing him here, bathed in warm lights, she can’t imagine him anywhere else. He seems to be entirely lost in the music, dedicated to nothing but the sound and the roaring the crowd awards him with in return.
They switch between songs so effortlessly, and the crowd eats every moment of it up. All the while, Ted tries to get as many angles as she can. She manages to make her way to the front of the stage eventually. She’ll have to find a way up somehow so that she can get Matt on some of the pictures as well. She finds herself right in front of Nick then. He has one foot propped up on the speaker in front of him as he belts the words into his microphone. He glances down at her just as she gets ready to take her picture. She snaps one of him looking directly into the camera. The look sears right through her. He has the audacity to shoot a wink at her way, but moves away too quickly for Ted to react in any kind of way. Instead, she stands dumbfounded for a moment. She shakes herself out of it and shoves her way through the crowd towards the side of the stage. Whatever that was can be dealt with later. She’s here to do a job.
The show is over much quicker than she had thought, and by the end of it her ears are ringing and her blood buzzes with adrenaline. Teddie pushes her way through the crowd to find Noah and Jesse again. She finds them entirely engrossed in their conversation, leaning against the bar.
Noah perks up as soon as he spots her, though.
Ted tries her hardest to contain her excitement, but the words won’t stop bubbling from her mouth, much to the boys' amusement.
Half an hour later, their group files into the still packed Bell Tower. Apparently, Nick works in the bar while the band is not on tour, and she’s sure that she heard him complain about Noah’s choice of bar when they rounded the corner. Hanging around Nick also awards them one of the better tables in the very back, where it’s not as loud and crowded any more. Ted lets herself drift in the noise for a while. Everything that had happened tonight is slowly flooding back into her mind, and she suddenly feels awfully overwhelmed. The ringing in her ears still hasn’t worn off and to make things even better, her head is starting to pound with the beginnings of a headache. She almost doesn’t notice Jolly sliding into the booth next to her. Only when he slides a glass of something in front of her does she look up at his face.
“Drink.” he nods towards the glass, “Just water. You’re pale. Don’t need you passing out.”
She feels herself nodding and empties most of the glass in one go. Jolly lets out a low chuckle next to her.
“I was too harsh with you earlier. We have a lot riding on those pictures, you know? Noah’s right, we can’t afford to be picky, but we need this to work out.” he explains, “And him bringing an obvious newbie – no offence – didn’t make me very hopeful.”
Ted suddenly feels even worse about it all, if Noah had told her how important this was for them, she would have told him to find someone with actual experience.
“But I also know that Noah wouldn’t just show up with the next best person, so I’m going to assume that he knows what he was doing when he asked you.”
Teddie takes another sip of her water. She’s not feeling as woozy any more, but this whole evening still feels a little like a dream.
“I didn’t know how important this was for you –”
Jolly shakes his head, “Noah could have told you. I assume he didn’t so that you wouldn’t pull out. Either way, we have to deal with it now. And if it makes you feel better, you looked professional enough.”
“What d’you need the photos for anyway?” she asks finally.
He takes a sip from his beer, “Contest from a magazine. Winner gets a spot on a festival bill over in Europe.”
So just a small thing, Ted thinks to herself.
Jolly must have noticed the wash of fear rushing over her face, as he places a warm hand on her shoulder, “If we win this, you’re coming with us. I hope you know that.”
As if that’s supposed to make her feel better.

Ángel x Ellis Love story (Part 1)
It started around their second year.
Ellis was in Trein’s class for history, a class no one really liked. Trein would drone on and on while most of the students fell asleep or did something else, like whisper or text. Ellis himself was writing in one of his several notebooks, neatly yet quickly writing his notes with his pen. He’ll admit, he didn’t like history much either, but he needed to focus on his studies.
“Alright now. I will be assigning you all a project. I will put you into pairs.” Trein announced. Groans filled the room from the mention of group projects. Professor Trein hushed them. “I will tell you who you’ll be working with.”
Ellis remained quiet, waiting to hear his name and who he was paired with. Ellis wasn’t a popular student, not even close. Every time he was put in a group project, it always resulted in Ellis doing all the work because his partner refused to talk to him. He was prepared to do the same here.
“Mr. Ellis Vinter, you will be working with Mr. Ángel Iglesias.”
Ángel.
Trein continued to list the other pairs as Ellis memorized his partner’s name for when he had to put their name on whatever presentation they had to do. The project Trein assigned was basically a research presentation on the Great Seven. Ellis and Ángel were assigned Jafar, the royal vizier. The bell rang for lunch, and everyone began packing their belongings to leave.
As Ellis finished packing his things, he noticed a student waltz up to him with a confident swagger in his step. He had bronze skin with long, somewhat wild black hair tied in a low ponytail. His bangs covered a bit of his pretty marmalade colored eyes. He didn’t wear a blazer, but he wore the Scarabia vest along with a white blouse that was unbuttoned enough to show off his pecs, with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He was adorned with accessories, from his bedazzled belt, to his gold bracelets, to his bedazzled crucifix necklace, to his chained crucifix earring. Clearly he had money.
“Are you by any chance Ellis Vinter?” The Scarabia student asked, revealing a deep, attractive voice with a Mexican accent. Ellis stood up, halting from packing his things.
“…Yes, I’m Ellis. Are you Ángel?” Ellis asked.
“I am.” Ángel responded. He pulled out his phone from his pocket, and Ellis noticed the luxury designer phone case. “Would you mind exchanging phone numbers? We can text to meet up for this project.”
Ellis had to blink a couple of times. Someone…wanted to talk to him? He quickly snapped out of it. “Oh, uh, yes. Let me get my phone…” Ellis took out his phone, which had a glittery snowflake phone case. The two students exchanged phone numbers before putting their phones away. Ángel began walking out of class. He turned his head to look at the Ignihyde student, smirking.
“I’ll see you in Alchemy, guapo~.” Ángel flirted, giving the white hair boy a saucy wink before leaving. Ellis’ face turned red. He didn’t know Spanish well, but…did Ángel just call him attractive…? He attempted to calm himself. You don’t just fall in love with someone you just met, he thought.
But Ellis had to admit that the Scarabia student was quite handsome too.

𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐒𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐔𝐒 || Xiao x F!Reader
Chapter 7 - Failed Date, Foggy Haze
Tired of his father living vicariously through him, Xiao decides to start the band he’s always dreamed about. Fame and wealth never mattered to him, he’d just want to feel part and contribute to a community that’d accept a broken man like him.
Starting a band in his friend’s garage, Xiao runs into a problem: there’s no drummer. Thus, auditions are held to be apart of the band. Our dear bassist has little to no experience with women, so how could he deal with one joining the band? Why did she bring so much of her ‘girl drama’ to rehearsals, and why is his ex trying to get back into his life?
Word Count: 7.4k
CW: implied/referenced abuse, drug use (xiao is a stoner)

It’s been a few days since rehearsals started. It’s also been a few days of Yunjin acting weird. The day you told her you’ve been accepted into the band, she ghosted you until the next day.
‘srry i didnt mean to not respond ><’ dad had me working’ was all she sent to you.
Of course you accepted, she’s a new friend and already getting along well with Ayaka and Hutao. But it seemed as if she was only interested in meeting with them. Anytime you’d bring up Venti, she’d just give off some excuse for not being able to hang out. Studying, working with her dad, she has an appointment, etc. So you ultimately gave up on trying to plan a friend date with your best friend.
She's been more active but recently all her texts seem to be about the band, she’d ask about how you feel about them. Venti? Best friends since high school, obviously you love him to shreds. Aether? You met him and his twin once before joining the band, he’s a little quiet and lost in his mind often, but still very friendly and can hold a conversation well. A natural leader to the band. Xiao? Also quiet, you knew of him as he’s been friends with Venti since they were children, your dad also worked with his dad as mechanics at some luxury car company. But you just can't seem to break down a wall he holds up. Not even a peephole.
It’s pretty irritating.
During rehearsals you catch him watching you and you can almost feel his eyes burning into you. You're not sure if it’s because of the drink you spilled on him a month back, you haven't apologized for that (yet). Maybe he’s just uneasy with new people? That's probably why team synergy was an important factor for them in terms of judging.
Whatever it was, you decided to get over your thoughts as you focused back onto the old notebook on your lap.
You're back in Itto’s garage for a band rehearsal, your class was canceled so you showed up early. The garage door was opened to allow the cool breeze inside, some shelves full of tools on one side of the garage, paint buckets in another, mini fridge in a corner stocked with beers and capri suns (that you bought for yourself but had to buy more as Venti likes to drink them all), a massive beanbag that Shinobu made Itto throw out (he didn't), and an old, stained couch from 30 years ago. So, for now it was you, the drum set Itto borrowed from a friend in jail, a few amps, microphones, speakers. And Xiao. The two of you on the couch, opposite sides.
He’s in a hoodie and jeans, hair messy as always but it frames his face so well, eyes tired but still sharp. He’s scrolling through his phone, occasionally biting and playing with his lip ring. Not talking to you, other than lifting his hand up at you when he saw you enter the garage; his way of greeting. It was so awkward even sitting near him as you feel like he’d hate you just for breathing wrong.
How can you write in this atmosphere?
Fuck it. You leaned over to your bag that sat beside you on the floor, searching for your headphones. You connected them to your phone, enabling bluetooth, and placed them over your head. One ear covered and the other exposed. In case Xiao decides he wants to talk. Ha.
You opened your music to something that will help cloud your mind with more noise.
‘Dim (Nostalgic Edit)’ by Yves.
The beat trying to stabilize itself, the echoes in the background sounding like sirens going down a tunnel, the distorted synths that replicated the thoughts in your mind. It's just noise, but it's as if it forces you to organize it and make sense of stuff.
You aren't sure if he watched you move, keeping your eye on Xiao using your peripheral vision. But you couldn't just stare into space with him beside you. What if he thinks you're going crazy?
You took a deep breath, changing your position on the couch to cross your legs together and adjusting the notebook on your lap once again.
On the pages are written some notes from the last rehearsal, adjustments to lyrics. You’ve been debating on trying out a collision overlapping between two bars, or if they should just scrap whatever it was they were trying to fit.
Your pencil tapped in annoyance against the paper, using it to tap the beat again and refresh your mind on the song, composing it in your head. Your pencil being what helped test out the melody.
“Is that the song we're working on?”
A raspy voice caught your attention from beside you. Your head turned over to the only other person in the room with you, Xiao.
His golden orbs met yours, his position never moved just his head facing you now. He looked at you then down to the notebook on your lap, then back at you.
He’s pointing using his eyes.
“Uh, yeah. It is. I don't like how the lyrics are coming out.”
“Which part?”
Xiao's making conversation? I mean, it's just about the music they're making, that doesn't count. Right?
“You know, uh, the chorus,” you pointed at some words on your notebook, moving the book closer for him to see, “I feel as if we're moving on too quickly from this stanza. I don't know if I should chop it out or find a different filler. Heh, yeah…”
You already feel yourself shutting down. Why is it so hard to even translate your thoughts to him? So embarrassing!
His expression remained unreadable, but you could tell he was reading your notes and the lyrics. He stayed still for a minute, before readjusting his position on the couch. Now his back is against the armrest of the couch, one leg crossed in front of him while the other still hung over to the floor. Porcelain fingers reached out to grab your notebook, although he didn't touch you, his cold silver ring grazed against your skin. Xiao read through your notes, head bobbing at the lyrics and seeing him organize what you were trying to fix up.
“Let’s sing til the end of the song. Beginning of the song already has 16 seconds of instrumentals before vocals come in. How about cutting the stanza up and exaggerating ‘you’?”
“How so?” you ask, intrigued as Xiao flipped your notebook to where the two of you could see.
“Here,” he pointed at exactly where your troubles were, “How about we cut up ‘Its’s you / I’m just saying it's you’. We can cut those up and have ‘you’ exaggerated to emphasize the song. This song isn’t calling for fast vocals, so we can slow down.”
“Can you… try it? I need to hear it.” Fuck!
“I’ll start at the pre-chorus. Just keep the beat.” he nodded, eyes still on the lyrics on your notebook as you counted him in.
Although you clapped along and kept your eyes still onto your notebook, you were so taken back by Xiao’s vocals. He’s proven himself to be a great vocalist alongside the other band members, but hearing him sing along and howl out the ‘you’ in the lyric. It kinda made you shy.
You really thought this mf hated you.
Whatever, step one is somewhat completed I guess.
“That… was good. Thank you.”
Xiao looked back up to you and nodded before turning his position back to when you first entered the garage.
You scribbled on some more notes.
‘Exaggerate vowel, keep breathy’
From there you started humming to yourself what Xiao suggested, and it fit.
Only a couple minutes passed by as you hear two doors slam shut in a car, Venti and Aether. Arriving just in time for rehearsal to start with iced coffees. Thank fuck.
Aether offered a wave at the two of you, iced drink halfway done, before heading over to where his guitar laid onto its stand. Venti arrived with the rest of the drinks.
“Vanilla oat milk cold brew for you,” the sparkling boy giggled as he handed Xiao his drink, “and a toasted coconut shaken espresso for you.”
Your eyes sparkled so much it could rival Venti’s. So sweet but so smooth, not overpowering. You took a sip and it was as if your taste buds danced after the first rain of a brutal summer. “Thank you so much!”
Venti giggled, still standing over you and looked down at your notebook. Not the one you were given by him to write the band's lyrics and notes, but your personal notebook.
His quick hands snatched it out your lap, pacing around the room with it.
“Venti-” you called in embarrassment, the headphones on your head that you had forgotten all about slipped down to your shoulders as you stood up from the couch.
“Now, now. What is my dear drummer looking to change? Oh!” Venti’s surprised reaction caught the attention of Aether, heading to peek over his shoulder as Venti plopped down in the empty space between you and Xiao.
“You finished the song?” Aether asked, eyes still reading the rest of the song the band never got to. “It sounds good. You did this all yourself?”
Now it was your turn to talk, “Uh, no. Not entirely. Xiao… helped with the chorus. Didn't know how to cut it up so he suggested we extend ‘you’.”
As you said Xiao’s name, his eyes darted from the notebook he once held just to lock his eyes in with yours momentarily, before they went back to the notebook, reading the new notes you put in after his suggestion.
“Y/N… this is good! Much better than what I was thinking. Xiao, good job too, I guess.” Venti stood back up, throwing the notebook over at Aether who caught it. Venti went to the back of the mic, just his little body as his guitar was still propped up on a stand. “Shall we get to work now?”
Aether read the notes once again, really taking them in before he nodded and headed back towards his mic. “These are really good. Great job, drummer girl.” He handed the notebook back down to you as you stood up. Before leaving back to his position he gave you a pat on the back.
Feeling a stare on you, you turned your head to see Xiao was staring back at you once again. He gave a curt nod before standing up to head to his guitar.
Venti decided to grab his guitar again, hyping himself up.
Still something was missing.
A recording of your rehearsals.
“Is it cool if I set up my phone to record us? We can review the playback footage and see what we should work on.”
Aether, finishing up with his tuning gave you a nod at the suggestion. “Go ahead, it’d be embarrassing sounding out of tune.”
You pulled your phone back out your pockets, opening the camera app and finding a place to prop up your phone. A bunch of cardboard boxes stacked on a pile worked. You tilted the phone as much as needed until everyone was in frame. That's when you realized your headphones were still around your shoulders. Before pressing the red circle to record, you threw your headphones onto the couch where you were sitting. Then gave the camera a peace sign before running back to your drums.
“Take 1 of ‘You (Show Me Where My Days Went)’,” Aether started, before looking at you to count the others in, “Ready?” Truly Pulse’s natural leader.
You nodded, a big smile on your face as you tapped your sticks together to give the others the tempo. It wasn't a loud song, so your guitarists had to start slow before easing into the first verse.
Aether started the song, Venti took over the second verse, then Xiao took over the chorus. You? Adlibs and backup vocals. Although you can sing, you’d prefer to focus more on drums rather than vocals.
Finally the song ended with Aether’s final lines and your drums. The group cheered, minus Xiao who just sat down on an amp and started tuning his bass again.
Hopping out of your seat, you ran over to the camera that was still recording and pressed the little red square to stop. Venti hopped right onto your back, seeing the recording on your phone. His chest was pressed entirely onto your back and his arms wrapped around your waist, head onto your shoulder.
You skimmed through the song as Venti practically invaded your personal space. “Did you bring your laptop?” You asked him
“Yeah but no cords.”
You snorted out a laugh, “That's fine, I got cords to plug it into. Just forgot my laptop on my bed.”
Venti hopped off of you as he fetched his laptop from his backpack, then went through your bag to grab the cords and a piece of gum.
Of course a gentleman can't go through a lady's bag. But this is Venti and Y/N. Venti’s taken care of Y/N as she’s thrown up drunk on her clothes. Y/N one time had to bathe Venti as he was piss drunk. What else is there for them to hide from each other?
The other two surrounded you and Venti as you plugged in your phone to his laptop. He clicked around using the mousepad and found the video you just took of the band performing.
It started with you throwing a peace sign and the guys behind you giving a chuckle (save for Xiao who just stared at you). You turned to run in the video and felt a little embarrassed, “Do I actually run like that?” hands covering your face from your body running to your drum set.
“The floor is covered in cables, anyone would awkwardly run like that.” Aether reassured you, placing a hand on your shoulder, squeezing it slightly.
Aether’s voice started, his body turning to face yours as he gave you your sign for the counts.
The actual performance was pretty good, with only few minor flaws and some changes to be made.
“It’s good,” Venti started, “but it’s missing something.”
“Aether, can you change the chords around the last 15 seconds of the song?” Xiao suggested, eyes closed and playing the song in the back of his mind. “Y/N, let’s have your drums be the absolute last sound in the song.”
Venti gave Xiao a pat on the back, at him suddenly speaking up to make suggestions. “Look at you speaking up!”
Xiao just threw a scowl over at Venti before leaning back onto the couch, spreading his arms out. Aether called for a small break while he figures out what kind of chord he’d wanna try out, Venti lent him his laptop so he can see what to test out.
After Venti left from between the two of you, it was back to you and the dark-haired boy on the couch. Xiao hopped back on his phone, one hand tapping the beat of the song onto the couch.
Since he’s back on his phone and some time has passed, you opened your phone to see you got a message from a ‘Haruki’ on… Tinder.
He just asked you what's up, called you pretty. Seems normal so you’d probably respond back the same way. ‘Oh just in a band meeting’, you thought to yourself as a response already. You clicked the message where the screen loaded in white same for a pinky fire going into the frame in the center of your screen. You clicked on his pictures just to remind yourself of how he looked.
Obviously from Inazuma, goes to the same uni as you but you’ve never seen him before, he’s got auburn hair, obviously a bowl cut but he styles it back. Normal pictures except you stumbled across a pic of him shirtless at the gym. That really assured something in your mind.
You probably swiped on him when you were horny and lonely.
You scrolled slightly to the bio.
“i go jim. something casual with someone open-minded :)”
Then back to his message to you, “link?”
Gross.
You unmatched so quickly, throwing your head back onto the couch, just for something to catch sight in your peripheral vision. Xiao took a peek at your phone, looked back at you, and smirked?? It must've been a trick of the light as he turned around to pay attention back onto his phone. But he smirked? There's no way you got laughed at already.
“Okay, how does this sound?” Aether asked, playing a new chord progression for the last bit of the song.
You felt it fit perfectly in, so did the other two. So back to recording take two of your song.
The rest of the rehearsal consisted of recording, playbacks, critiques, a lyric change or two, and so on. By the end of it all, your clothes began to stick to you slightly from the amount of takes. But finally the band felt satisfied, it was starting to get dark and the air became cooler inside the garage.
As you were sipping water, you picked up a conversation with Aether. Asked how his sister was as the last time you saw her was before the band formed, at karaoke with Venti and the others.
“She's fine, swamped with homework. Her boyfriend's pretty cool, too. Little weird but cool.”
“Weird? Is it worrying?”
“Yeah, kinda. He gets a little aggressive sometimes but never to her. Guess he’s just overprotective. Not too worried, my sister knows how to fight. She still kicks my ass if I leave the toilet seat up.”
You chuckled at that. No way Aether is house trained.
“What about you? Any siblings?”
Your face lit up, but before you could get a word out, Venti called your name from behind you.
He and Xiao were sitting down on an amp, Venti obviously carried the conversation as Xiao only seemed to respond in grunts when he wanted to.
“Y/N~ So I heard you were on tinder? Any hot dates yet?” Venti sang out, Aether giggled at the other's question.
How embarrassing! Xiao, you will pay for this.
You looked over at the quiet boy beside your best friend, who just raised an eyebrow over at you before turning back down to play around with his bass. Asshole.
Taking a deep breath, you crossed your arms and answered Venti’s question. “I have a date tomorrow. I’m sure you’ll watch my location at some point.”
“Is that why you asked for no rehearsal on Tuesday?”
“I’m not the one who asked, it was your little friend over there.”
Now Xiao got his attention back onto you. Venti looked between the two of you, having a stare off, “Wait! Don't tell me you guys are going on a date tomorrow?”
You scoffed, walking over to grab your belongings and slinging your bag over your shoulder.
“Don’t be stupid, of course not. Since rehearsal is over now, I’m heading home. I’m all sweaty.”
Besides, it's way too early in the story for a date.
“Where is it at?” Venti called out as you were exiting the garage. You turned around to face him again, “Don't worry about it. You have my location anyways.”
You threw a wink out at him before grabbing your keys out of your pocket and unlocking the car door. It was so cold out, you turned up the seat warmers and waited for your car to heat up some more before driving off. As you waited, Aether and Venti saw you still in your car and waved you goodbye. Xiao was still in the garage, watching the other two pack up in Aethers car before driving away.
He looked back at your car momentarily, before turning around to shut the garage door. Then the lights went out, signaling he’s out of there too
Weirdo.
At least you won't see him for another few days.
You placed in the directions to your home, then took off.
Hopefully he won't be too weird anymore, or stay as intense as he’s been.
–
Finally in your house, you gathered some clothes before hopping in your shower.
You took your time inside, feeling all the sticky sweat fall off of you and feeling rejuvenated. You grabbed your pj pants and tank top, slipping them off. Attempted to dry your hair as best as you could and added on extra moisturizer.
You see how your phone buzzed on your bed as you reentered your room, plopping onto the bed to see who would've texted you.
Venti.
V: srry for the teasing
V: hehe
V: not rlly
V: but i heard xiao spoke to you other than his usual groans and making stupid faces !!
Y/N: yeahhh idk im still scared of him 😞
Y/N: he aura farmed for too long
Y/N: he's like lvl 100 mafia boss and im lvl 1 thug
Venti laughed at that last message.
V: nuh uh !! bet you dont realize that hes also shy asf !!
Y/N: i lowk dont believe u but oki
V: its true !! just keep talking abt the music and he’ll come around. he’s kinda like a cat !!
V: just not his cat, shes rlly friendly
Y/N: xiao has a cat?
V: hehe yup !! you’ll meet her someday just gotta earn his trust first. thats his daughter he wouldnt want a bad influence like you around her
Y/N: me? bad influence? girl look at you !!
V: man wtv !! imma go to bed hehe. just keep doing what you were doing
V: promise he’s not scary just shy
You just liked his message, then you scrolled between other messages.
Yunjin, she's a little weird. Talks about the band a lot, won't tell you who her ex is but it's either Aether or Xiao. So far you're getting to know Aether, there's no way it was Xiao, he’s so difficult to get to.
The band group chat. Just the four of you. It was mainly Venti sending memes, Aether would reply to them or send demos, Xiao is somewhat active as he only likes messages and asked the other day to have Tuesday off, and you? You haven't texted anything in the groupchat yet.
Maybe that’ll change.
Some guy named Henry asked you on a date to get boba and go hit up some shops nearby, rather far drive across town. Although he offered to pick you up, you prefer driving yourself in case anything weird happens.
You smile at the pictures of him. Cute guy, pale skin, glasses, short, light hair, pretty toned. He was rather cute but totally not what you'd usually go for, still you don't like keeping yourself in a box. You weren't really excited but at least you got to get out of the house more, not that your dad bothers you, you just don’t like to be holed up.
You sighed, flipping through your phone looking for a video to ‘watch’ as you tried to fall asleep. You’ve gotten used to noise to calm you down, your parents jamming out would provoke you with sleepiness, or just your dad watching tv loudly from the living room would be enough too.
Finally, you found something worth your interest and clicked it. You placed your phone on the nightstand beside you then wrapped yourself up in the warm comforters, freshly dried and so warm.
–
It’s well into the date with Henry, a guy from Mondstadt and he’s been really nice. A little weird. Not creepy, he’s just a big crypto guy. Whatever that means.
At the moment you're going between getting your father an antique ashtray or watch, staring at both eagerly as if they’d come alive and convincing you which one to buy. The ashtray is ceramic, painted and glazed over beautifully, it has a pond in the corner with some swans and a cherry blossom tree. The edges are decorated in gold. But the watch is definitely something your grandfather would have worn. And you know how much your dad misses his dad and regrets not keeping the watch he was buried with all those years ago.
“That for you?”
Familiar. Raspy. Kind of grumpy.
You turned to see Xiao standing beside you, hoodie on him and hands stuffed into his pocket sleeves. His face looked unamused, as always, he locked eyes with you for a second before turning to look back at what you were looking at. The watch or the ashtray.
He really did catch you off guard as you jolted at the sound of his unexpected voice.
“You stalking me or something?” you let out a chuckle, steadying your breath.
Seriously, you’re very well across town but still run into Xiao on the same Tuesday he asked for. Maybe God was punishing you.
“No. My cousins dragged me out here.” His eyes looked over to two girls going through clothes and holding up against each other, giggling between themselves. Ganyu and a girl with pink hair. “Where's your date?” his eyes locked back with yours, eyebrow raising.
You really didn't know where he was, you kind of just wandered off without him noticing. So you shrugged. “Dunno. These are for my dad though,” you motioned back to the two antiques in front of you, “guess I’ll get them both.”
Xiao just grunted in response. Seriously, this guy is so dry.
Before thinking of something else to say, Henry popped back up empty handed. “Yo, you ready to dip?” How embarrassing.
His eyes lingered around the store before looking back at you, talking to Xiao. Great.
“You know him, babe?”
You didn't even want to bother turning around to see Xiao’s reaction, so you just sighed and nodded.
“He’s in the band I’m in. He plays bass.”
“Oh, you were serious about being in a band?”
Now your eyebrow raised, “Yeah?”
Henry just hummed, looking over at Xiao, tongue pushing against his cheek before he spoke up again. “So, uh, you interested in crypto? I make five figures a year, pretty alpha of me. Since you know my girl, I’ll be sure to invite you out for drinks sometime.”
You really couldn't hold back your annoyed sigh, looking back at the trinkets in your hands you just headed towards the cash register. Henry turned to follow you. Xiao also decided to move on back to accompany his cousins still looking at clothes.
As you were checking out, Henry spoke to you but you just tuned him out. Something about Xiao being a chump and again, crypto, like that was something important. Whatever, none of your business.
As you both headed out you turned back to him. “Hey, uh, I gotta get home. My dad needs his meds.”
Henry looked at you looking surprised at the thought of his dates dad being sick, “Oh, uh, is he alright? I can walk you to your car-”
“No need. I parked far. Uh, text you later.”
You purposely cut him off, walking in the opposite of where your car was left.
Just when he was out of your sight, you hid behind other cars to attempt sneaking back to where you left your car. As if you were going to let him see what kind of car you drive around. So fucking embarrassing.
As you headed back towards your car, safe and sound, you opened up messages between you and Xiao. Obviously nothing was there. But you were tempted to tell him not to say anything.
FUCK THAT’S SO EMBARRASSING.
Whatever. Maybe he won't say anything.
Right?
When you were back in rehearsals the next day Venti asked you how your date went. Your eyes flickered to Xiao to see him reading some notes Aether jotted down for him to read and apply to his part. Eyes back onto Venti, he was now beginning to lean more onto you face as curious as ever.
“Alright, back up. I can feel your breath on my upper lip.”
“Oh, but Y/N! You said he was a cutie! How was it?”
Your fingers pinched the bridge of your nose, as if it was trying to hold back a headache, “It was pretty cringe. Total loser. Alpha male, kept talking about crypto and making five figures a year. Probably only makes 15k like what's that gonna do for me, y’know?”
Venti’s curious smile started to twitch before he erupted in laughter. “Total loser, for sure! That’s so embarrassing, how’d it end?”
“Saw Y/N run away from him outside.” Xiao added, looking over at the two of you behind your drum kit before going back to his bass and plucking the strings towards Aether, who was crouched in front of him with intense concentration on how Xiao's new notes would sound.
Venti’s mouth dropped before he began jumping around in laughter, “Xiao was there? Dude, I don't know how you're still here, I would've quit the band!”
“Thanks for the comfort… Maybe I should just delete this hellhole of an app.” You sighed, pulling out your phone, but before you could unlock it, Venti slapped his hand onto it.
“No, you shouldn't. I have a friend who knows a friend that found their second husband on there, maybe you’ll find your match.”
“You’re not really the best at comforting.”
“Never said I was.”
You sighed, spinning in your chair to see Aether giving Xiao a look of satisfaction. “That's enough, Venti, let's go over this run again. Y/N, start us off please?”
Venti groaned as he headed back to pick up his guitar, which was leaning against the wall behind you, then a half-ass jog back to his position. Aether looked over at you with a sympathetic smile before heading back to his spot.
You took a deep breath before counting the boys in with the taps of your sticks.
Band rehearsal continued as usual: set up the phone, do a take, stop the recording, start up again, and repeat to watch later.
As the hours passed by, the band grew tired and ended early. You waited for Venti to finish packing as you were his ride home that night, so you opened your texts up to send your dad a quick message letting him know you were gonna be late for dinner.
Which ultimately left Xiao alone in the garage, watching Venti tell you about a classmate that accidentally grabbed their professor's ass. The garage door closes for the final time that night behind you. Lights went out as the upstairs lights turned on only a few moments later.
–
Upstairs, lights and fan turned on, Xiao laid in bed. His eyes were closed and only the sound of the fan and Mila’s purrs filled the room. She always knew what to do, as soft paws walked across Xiao’s chest and sat down, round, green eyes looked down at him as if telling him that he can rest now.
Pale, long fingers reached over to pet the white, orange, and black fur of her neck which she leaned into giving out a tiny meow of contentment. A smirk crawled onto Xiao’s face as Mila obviously missed him, despite him being downstairs for only a couple of hours.
Xiao picked up his phone that lied across the bedding as a vibration caught his eye. Ganyu.
Shit.
Although he promised to keep an eye on Y/N, he really didn't want to. He formed this band to keep himself busy, even if it was on a whim, but it's really starting to feel as if it's an obligation.
G: how was rehearsal?
X: how do you know when it ends?
G: your spotify gets active again.
G: clementine by elliott smith tonight. sounds melancholic.
X: yeah
X: rehearsal was ok. same old.
X: just so you know, Y/N was on a date with someone yesterday
X: you and yanfei were trying on clothes, so i went to go say hi and her date was rather
X: lame
X: seems shes over that little boyfriend of yours
G: and if she's still plotting with yunjin?
G: figured that out yet?
X: dunno, she doesn't talk to me. venti usually gets her whole attention.
X: not too worried but im still watching out
G: i can help find out more
X: rather not. i’ll deal with her.
G: xiao.. :(
He closed his phone at that last text message, slamming the phone face down back onto the bed. Fingers combing through his hair, feeling rather wet. He’s been sweating and starting to stink, so I guess it's time for a shower.
Although he didn't really want to get up, he refused to go to bed stinky and dirty. He’s always found hygiene important. Constantly cleaning dirt from his fingers, moisturizing his face when the weather is cold, brushing his teeth twice a day. Somehow, it felt like that was the only control he had over himself, even stretching it to Mila as he makes sure to trim her claws every two weeks and brush her teeth daily. She really hated it in the beginning but soon got used to it, even sitting on the bathroom counter as if it was routine for her now.
As he turned on the knobs and stripped in the bathroom connected to his room, the water seemed to take a minute to head up. So while waiting he looked over at his stripped body, flexing his arms to check himself out then turning his back to check himself out again. He’s not pretentious, he just likes to check his progress, or lack of, he’s been neglecting the gym recently which made him lose some muscle mass. Not that he minds, really, despite his short stature he could still take on someone twice his size. But he knows he can't allow himself to slack off, so he’ll probably ask Itto if it’s cool to use some of the gym equipment he keeps in another room.
It was in the garage, but when Xiao brought up starting a band to Itto, they just decided to move some items to a different room downstairs.
Didn't think he’d actually support his decision, but he really was thankful to have someone like him in his life. It was a little overwhelming at times, though. Just not used to kind acts.
As the mirror started to fog up, Xiao took that as his cue to turn on the cold water some more before jumping into the shower.
The once boiling water hitting his skin soon turned into a warm sensation. It’s not too hot but it wasn't cold either. Just right.
He cupped some water into hands, splashing water onto his face. A small ritual for Xiao, water brings life, to bathe in its embrace is like a new day promised. Or something like that. A fresh return.
His bathing ritual continued, covering every single crevice in his body with soap and watching the water carry it away down the drain just beneath him.
Clean skin, fresh new start.
Xiao twisted the knobs to end his shower, he leaves his shower thoughts outside the enclosed, slippery room. His dad always blamed the water bill being so high on him, so he’d rather Itto not worry about his water bill either. No time for shower thoughts.
The coldness of the bathroom compared to the warmth of the water brought goosebumps onto his skin, so he grabbed the towel that he'd brought in and instantly started to dry his body and hair as much as he could.
Wrapping that same towel around his waist, Xiao opened the door to his bedroom, allowing the trapped stream to finally escape the cold bathroom air. His clothes were piled onto his bed, just some sweatpants, black shirt, and a pair of underwear. Although he may have to go to bed without a shirt as Mila seems to have fallen into a deep sleep on top of it. Her soft, white belly with black spots were face up, her body stretched into a ‘C’ shape and one of her paws extended way past her little head, so much so that her trimmed claws were poking out.
The sight of her relaxed body in a state of unconsciousness brought a smile onto Xiao’s face, sharp eyes now softening as slow, deep snores escaped his small companion's open mouth.
Carefully, Xiao picked up his underwear and sweats and slipped them on, the towel that wrapped around his waist thrown into the laundry basket near the bedroom door.
The sudden sleepiness went away after his shower, so his thoughts began to fill up with his anxieties again.
Damn Yunjin.
Whatever. This isn’t a night to dwell on such feelings. And how else could he get over them than to smoke?
It’s been a few days since he last felt the high this beautiful green flower gave him. However, he can't recall exactly when he got into weed.
Maybe it was because of the football team in his high school inviting him to smoke with them behind the bleachers - surprisingly - or maybe it was in middle school when his first girlfriend snuck the two of them into an abandoned house in her neighborhood and they tested out the joint her mom's boyfriend secretly rolled for them. Maybe it was when he first got kicked out of his father's house at 16 and Venti introduced him to a bong he received from a cousin, even if Venti decided that weed wasn't for him. Whatever the case was, tonight was a kind of night where weed came back to comfort him.
He rose from his bed once again to crack open the window slightly, Mila wouldn't escape but you can't ever be too careful. The blue and white bong sat on his desk, it was recently cleaned and the thought of dirtying it again kind of hurts, but his need for a fill is too much to deny. So he grabbed the half empty water bottle nearby and dumped the necessary amount in. His drawers by the desk housed his bud, two different strands in two clear containers.
One container housed a beautiful purple flower, the color was what caught his attention when Itto introduced him to his supplier. Perfect for his anxiety and would help him sleep, it also tasted like artificial grapes which Xiao didn't seem to mind. Purple Kush, an indica. Supposedly makes you hungry as well but the golden-eyed boy is used to smoking so much he doesn't want to overeat whenever the munchies hit. He’s got water in his jug to help him with the cottonmouth as well.
The other container housed a blue-violet flower that Itto’s supplier gifted for him to try out. Tastes sweet, he said. Although it's a hybrid, it's more of an indica feel. He really needs more of a sativa strain instead, but he wasn't gonna complain to a new… friend about it. He searched more of the strain on the ride home with Itto, how it can be a little bit of an aphrodisiac. So maybe he’ll save that when he’s home alone and brings a girl over.
As if that’d happen any time soon.
Purple Kush it is.
Slender fingers twist open the cap and take a bud out, not too much since his bowl isn't really big. He places the singular bud on a tray, picking off the stems carefully as the container with the rest of the flower stays nearby.
His drawer is still open as his eyes scan over for a little silver metal round container hiding somewhere. It was quite easy to find anyways as the light reflected off of it. He pulled out the container and popped open the top, exposing some crushed leaves inside of it. His reliable grinder. He always thought of the leftover pieces as extra 'seasoning’.
He placed the bud he broke apart into the container and stuck the top back on, magnets helping the container close down smoother as he twisted the top around. Maybe after three twists everything fell into the bottom compartment. That little bud he had actually filled more than enough so last him two bowls.
Usually he could zip through four bowls in a sitting but tonight just wouldn't be that kind of night. Two bowls it’ll be then.
He twisted the bottom compartment off and emptied it out onto his tray where the single bud once laid.
It was nearly like a power, just more like clumps. The smell wasn't pungent either, just smelled like the artificial grapes it’ll taste like.
Xiao took the small bowl that sat on his bong, then slowly filled it up using the edge of the tray, packing it in with a wooden stick. Not too hard or else the smoke wouldn't be able to steep through, but not light enough to have the shredded flower fly around onto the carpet and his clothes.
He sat the bowl back into his bong, setting it onto his lap and finding the lighter that works.
First one didn't. Neither did the second one. Third times the charm right? It wasn't.
He really didn't want to bother Itto, especially this late at night.
For a loud guy he knows how to stay quiet especially with Shinobu. Didn't want to interrupt something intimate between them.
He checked another drawer near his desk to see two more lighters.
He’d nearly forgotten he bought a pair just a while back. And sure enough, they sparked.
He brought the ring of the bong up to his mouth, igniting the lighter close to the bowl which quickly brought smoke into the glass container.
Once it was ignited enough and Xiao counted to three in his head, he lifted the bowl from the bong once again and kept going for a few more seconds.
He took his mouth off the top of the bong and inhaled as much as he could, before releasing the smoke that clogged his lungs.
Such a smooth hit. It was a huge hit he took but it didn't make him want to gag or cough. He did, however, feel the burning sensation in the back of his throat. So he took the water jug that sat on the floor beside him and took a few sips to ease that feeling.
Taking a deep breath, he looked over back to the bowl and calculated that he could probably take another hit or two before packing the next one.
And so he did.
The first hit didn't really do anything to him, the third hit got him buzzed, but the last hit brought him up to a high that had him staring at his ceiling and the anxious thoughts floated away.
It genuinely was relieving how soft he felt in that moment on his old leather chair - it’s actually Itto’s but details don't matter. But not long after his sleepiness came crawling back.
So, he placed his bong back onto his desk, then gave himself an internal pep talk to not be lazy and go lay down in bed. Which he did. He closed his window, turned on the ceiling fan and turned off the light, then waddled over to the bed in the corner of the room and threw himself on top. Careful enough to not land on Mila of course.
The sudden weight bouncing beside her caused her to switch from her relaxed position to her rolling over and crawling on top of Xiao’s bare chest. Her soft purrs filled his ears as she leaned her head closer to his face, smelling the weed he just ingested on his mouth and chirped at him. She always did that after he smoked, Xiao assumed she would scold him in her own way, but she’d never be upset for too long as she curled around his chest.
I guess tonight he’ll just sleep shirtless. But at least his pretty girl would accompany him during his slumber.
And so, Xiao drifted off to sleep with his cat purring contently into his ear, and her drool falling on his chest. Gross. But at least she's happy.

im out of school and FREE !! went through a lot lately. uncle passed away this weekend, kitten i was helping take care of also passed a few days ago, finals week.

@dandylionsden found the florist
It was a regular night, and yet Melissa felt very much on the edge. The martini placed in front of her tasted bland, but the brunette suspected it had more to do with her nerves than with the bartender suddenly fumbling a traditional cocktail recipe. Her eyes scanned the clients who arrived for the evening in a mechanical fashion, opening her own notebook (never digital - not when these things could be hacked) and making little notes confirming appointments and the girls who were on duty for that evening.
There were no surprises to be expected, at least not from a work perspective - all individuals scheduled to make appearances to meet up with her protégés and then disappear into one of the suites after a lavish dinner meal were regulars; they had been tripled checked before, tipped well and never caused problems. It was just a very calm night, for all intents and purposes.
And yet, when a waiter approached her stool with a polite bow and informed Melissa that her personal guest had arrived, the woman almost felt like a bolt of lightening would hit the building and split the polished floors in half. Outwardly, however, the modern-day madame thanked the man with a polite smile and finished her drink as if it was a shame to let it go to waste (and not because she required the courage boost it would provide). Picking up her purse and casting one small glance at her employees, Melissa left the bar knowing that one of the hotel guys would call to her room in case of emergencies.
The lift ride felt like hours; the steps to the room were both too many and too few. The brunette finally arrived at the door, unsure of what was going to transpire - and allowed a small laugh out, finding it admirable how much a presence from the past had disturbed her calm confidence and effortless charm. It had taken work, of course - but the young college girl by the name of Lilian had transformed herself into a business entrepreneur who was unafraid of holding long conversations with individuals found in the Forbes rankings.
Nealie Whitford had singlehandedly reversed almost all that - before her unlikely savior from college years (and ex-girlfriend), it was almost like Melissa returned to the past, back in the shoes of a clueless girl from the south who didn't know better about college parties (and how scary a big metropolis could be).
Opening the door, Melissa walked inside with newfound determination and took a look inside. The brunette was dressed as if her next appointment was a fundraiser at some museum wing closed off for sponsors only, figure draped by emerald fabrics and wearing heels that could cause accidents for less experienced individuals. Not only that - from the initials etched to her purse to the jewelry covering skin, everything about the woman screamed of wealth, good taste and luxury.
All things Nealie had been afforded when she was but a baby - and yet, Melissa was the one who looked like the offspring of old money. The other woman was not glamorous at all - just a show of bright colors, a picture of the brazen and lively energy she carried everywhere and which poured out of her even as she fought with people twice her size.
(It had been terrifying to watch - and also incredibly hypnotic.)
"Nealie," the brunette finally said it, leaving her purse over the furniture close to the door, advancing towards the other female and smiling with genuine fondness, "I wasn't sure if you'd come. I... am very happy that you did," Melissa added, finally standing within Nealie's personal space and taking a good look at her under the suite's dimmed lights.
#dandylionsden#v: House of Flowers#t: the ways fate twists and turns#I hope this works well for a present day starter :D#apologies for rambling like I'm being paid for the word count#I apparently cannot make one liner starters XD

1/25/2024: Update and Yearly Goals
Hello everyone! First of all, I am SO sorry to everyone who was following me and waiting on updates for the project. I was completely wiped and had a bad turn for my mental health.
HOWEVER the fundraising idea I had in mind is still on track! It’s just taking longer for me to learn everything I need to get this off the ground. A lot of it has been learning new stuff, so it’s taken longer than I anticipated. I was planning to start mid January, but now it looks more like I’ll be launching in February. Hopefully in the first week.
Just so you’re not in suspense, here’s the idea:
I want to create a “logo” for this campaign. Nothing too fancy, but something that symbolizes artistic creativity, and will represent supporting Artist Communities. Then I’ll put it on Redbubble and sell stickers, pins, notebooks, and little things people can buy so that they can openly support the cause while “donating” to the start of it. I work full time, so all my living expenses are already paid for. The profits would go straight to funding the project.
The reason it’s taking so long is because I wanted to have other designs too, in case people don’t like the logo for whatever reason (I’m not a graphic designer, so admittedly, it’s probably not gonna be great lol) so I could give them options. Also, I wanted to open up my sister’s Redbubble first. She has Downs Syndrome and is medium functioning, so she doesn’t understand how to set everything up in the shop. She is on disability and already has housing, but I figured having a little extra income for the fun stuff she wants would be good lol I wanted to make sure she was set before focusing on myself.
Anyway, my initial idea is to still take older multi-tenant places and update them with pure function in mind, not luxury. That way I can keep rent very low. Basically just charging for utility, property taxes, and pay off renovations. Which, split between multiple people should be more than reasonable.
If for some reason that doesn’t seem viable, I’ll take someone’s suggestion of buying land and just bringing up manufactured homes to make a little community. Either way this WILL happen, it just might take me a little longer to figure out how.
I’m still talking to other professionals to see how to do all the technical stuff, but after that I should be able to take charge and start getting things under way.
Unfortunately, it… may take another year after all, because my mom just had a bad turn for her health. Bad enough that she had to quit her job. So now I’m taking over mortgage payments for the house so we’ll be set while she gets the tests and treatment. Before anyone panics, she’s not in the hospital or anything, just having issues with her vision and a few other things. She plans to “rest” for two months while we fix her up, and then get an easier job that’s not so physically demanding. Thankfully she had to quit due to medical reasons, so (I think) she’s still covered from her job insurance lol.
Anyway, thanks for reading. Hopefully my next post will be the grand opening of the Redbubble! :D
Also if any of you are Christian PLEASE pray that I will find time to relax. Things keep popping up triggering my anxiety and making it hard to get good sleep and breaks OTL

Creative Ways to Customize Your Tech with Laptop Skins

Laptop skins have evolved from basic protective stickers into a bold medium of self-expression. Whether you’re a student, creative professional, or tech enthusiast, laptop computer skins give your device a fresh identity while also guarding against scratches and wear.
From vibrant art to minimalist textures, there’s a skin for every personality. People choose notebook computer skins not just for aesthetics, but for how they reflect individuality. And because they’re easy to apply and remove, you can switch up your look whenever inspiration strikes.
Why Personalize with Laptop Skins Instead of Cases
Cases can feel bulky and impersonal. The laptop skins, on the other hand, offer slim protection with tons of personality. They adhere directly to your laptop’s surface, hugging every curve without adding weight or thickness.
Moreover, most notebook computer skin options are customizable, allowing you to upload personal designs or choose from thousands of templates. Unlike hard-shell cases, skins don’t trap heat and are usually more budget-friendly.
Express Your Mood with Color-Blocking Skins
Color-blocking designs make a strong visual impact. Choose bold colors that reflect your mood or work vibe—like energizing red, creative orange, or calming blue. It’s a simple yet powerful way to influence how you and others perceive your workspace.
Not to mention, these laptop computer skins instantly boost the aesthetic of your coffee shop table or Zoom background. Match your skin with accessories like your mouse pad, water bottle, or keyboard cover for a cohesive look.
Show Off Your Hobbies and Interests
Are you a travel junkie, bookworm, or pet lover? Let your skin tell your story. Skins themed around hobbies make laptops more relatable and fun to use. It's a great conversation starter too—especially in shared workspaces or classrooms.
You can choose designs that highlight your favorite destination, favorite band lyrics, or even a custom illustration of your pet. With the right notebook computer skin, your laptop becomes more than a tool—it becomes a part of your personality.
Go Minimal with Sleek Matte Finishes
Sometimes, less is more. If you love simplicity, go for solid-color matte laptop skins. Shades like charcoal, navy, or white give your device a clean and professional appearance without being boring.
These types of laptop skins are especially popular among professionals and entrepreneurs who prefer a subtle style that still stands out. They’re perfect for formal settings while keeping your device safe and scratch-free.
Add Texture with Leather or Fabric Skins
Want something that feels as good as it looks? Leather and fabric-inspired skins offer a unique tactile experience. They look luxurious and add a layer of sophistication to your laptop.
Leather-look laptop computer skins work wonderfully in executive environments, while felt or denim designs can feel cozy and creative. It’s tech, upgraded to a fashion statement.
Match Skins Across All Your Devices
Consistency is key. Matching your laptop skin with your phone, tablet, and even AirPods creates a unified tech aesthetic. It feels intentional and polished, and honestly—it just looks cool.
Many skin brands offer sets or allow you to custom order matching pieces. When you coordinate your tech gear, you not only show off your style, but you also give a neat and organized impression.
Turn Your Laptop into an Art Gallery
Think of your laptop as a blank canvas. With an art-themed skin, you can carry a masterpiece everywhere you go. Choose famous paintings, digital illustrations, or even graffiti-inspired designs to show off your appreciation for creativity.
These laptop computer skins don’t just decorate—they inspire. If you’re in a creative field, they can help set the tone for brainstorming sessions or freelance gigs.
Use Inspirational Quotes to Stay Motivated
Words are powerful. Adding motivational quotes to your notebook computer skin can help fuel your focus during long work hours. Pick a phrase that resonates—something empowering, funny, or deeply meaningful.
You’ll glance at your device dozens of times a day, so why not make that moment positive? Whether it says “Stay Hungry” or “Do What You Love,” your skin becomes a visual affirmation of your goals.
Promote Your Brand or Side Hustle
Custom laptop skins are an excellent low-cost marketing tool. Add your logo, social media handles, or website to spread awareness wherever you go. Whether you're freelancing at a cafe or presenting at a workshop, your laptop becomes an ad.
It's non-intrusive, clever, and surprisingly effective. People notice unique laptop computer skins—and they remember what stands out.
Celebrate Seasons and Holidays with Skins
Just like swapping your wardrobe, why not refresh your laptop with the seasons? Use festive skins during holidays—snowflakes for winter, florals for spring, or pumpkins for fall.
They not only look fun but also spark joy. Changing your notebook computer skin with the season keeps things fresh and fun, especially if you work long hours at your desk.
Protect While You Personalize
Let’s not forget—laptop skins serve a practical purpose too. They shield your device from minor dings, fingerprints, and scratches. When made from high-quality vinyl, they last long and peel off clean without leaving residue.
In short:
They’re affordable.
They’re protective.
They’re expressive.

Accidental Mistress - Cleaning House
At last it is time for Mordecai, Oraion's faithful butler, to make his fic debut! I hope y'all enjoy reading this piece as much as I enjoyed writing it.
(For more Accidental Mistress content, check out the Master Post.)
Title: Cleaning House
Word count: 2,174
Content and Warnings: snz (male)
In which the personal butler of Demon Lord Leroux notes down some of the finer points of running a demonic estate, and is afforded the rare opportunity of a moment alone.
-------------------
An important rule to bear in mind when keeping imps in one’s employ as part of a housekeeping staff is that, on occasion, one is required to lead by example. Specifically, this entails determining which among their number has become the ringleader of the group, and, subsequently, making an example of them. While this will result in a temporary drop in morale, this is preferable to the headache one must endure should the simple-minded creatures acquire the misguided notion to become organized. Not that imps pose any credible threat, even in numbers, but it is quite the hassle to recruit, hire on, and train an entirely new crew once the insurgency has been dealt with.
Mordecai Amadeus Catherwood lifted pen nib from paper and placed the gilded implement with its sleek ebony plume aside. The notebook that lay on top of the stately mahogany desk before him, its cover of rich emerald leather splayed open, was filled with page after page of notes written in an even, careful hand. As major-domo of the Leroux Estate and personal butler to Demon Lord Oraion Moncerius Leroux himself, Mordecai did not often enjoy the luxury of free time. Thus, writing these notes had taken place over the course of many weeks, performed in those infrequent moments when he could tear himself away from his duties, as well as during late nights such as the one he currently found himself in. Even now rest was not likely to come soon, as there was no one available on the housekeeping staff to help him clean up and dispose of the scattered imp corpses, seeing as all members of said staff were, well, dead.
Being alone in the study, the butler allowed himself the rare pleasure of a leisurely stretch, lifting one arm straight above his head and grasping the elbow with his other hand. Of particular enjoyment was the reward of several pops along his spine as he squeezed his shoulder blades together. The sound could almost be mistaken for the crackle of the fire that burned in the nearby hearth. He lowered his arms with a sigh and removed the spectacles that perched on his nose, rubbing his narrow, violet eyes with his free hand. His customary monocle was tucked safely in a vest pocket—spectacles served him better for the task of committing his thoughts to paper. A task that he estimated was nearing completion as the number of blank pages in the notebook dwindled.
He brushed a few errant strands of blonde hair behind his right ear. Though not as long as his Master’s, Mordecai's ears similarly tapered to a point. Many humanoid denizens of the Celestial and Demonic Realms possessed this feature, and, being a fallen angel, Mordecai held ties to both. As his fingertips traced the shell, then the lobe, they lingered on the piece of jewelry there: a deep red stone in a setting of blackened metal. After a pause, he grasped the ornament between his thumb and the second knuckle of his forefinger.
“My Lord…?”
Silence.
The butler sighed once more.
Mordecai had tried using the earring to communicate with his Master more times than he dared count since the latter’s sudden disappearance some months ago. Each attempt bore the same result: no response. Very few circumstances could cut this link between them. The simplest, of course, was if his Master were dead, but as Mordecai was as yet unable to remove the earring from his ear, he did not think this to be the case. Another possibility was that a powerful enchantment was keeping his Master imprisoned somewhere within the Demon Realm, likely by one of the higher-ranking Lords or Princes. This was the avenue Mordecai pursued at first, but thus far every line of inquiry came to a dead end, and the butler was not aware of any particular animosity between his Lord and the other Nobles at the time. The only other scenario Mordecai entertained with any seriousness, and which he was considering more and more likely, was that Lord Oraion Moncerius Leroux had been spirited away from the Demon Realm altogether.
The question was: why? The timing and location seemed entirely random—Lord Leroux was, in fact, sitting in the very same chair Mordecai sat in now, complaining at length about some trivial matter the butler had long ceased paying attention to as he stood on the far side of the desk and let his mind focus on more important things. Without warning, a flash of violet light so bright it dazzled the fallen angel’s eyes lit up the room, and when his vision cleared, he found the finely carved desk chair to be empty and his Master gone. Mordecai had neither sensed the phenomenon coming, nor had he been able to glean anything of its nature before it had dissipated as swiftly as it arrived. It was quite possibly one of the strangest events he had personally experienced in all his years.
An interruption to his musings caused the fallen angel to lean forward and raise a hand to his head, placing his first two fingers against his forehead while his thumb rested upon his cheekbone. A slight grimace parted his lips as he squeezed his eyes shut, his pale brows drawn together. He held this pose for several seconds, not even drawing breath, until a sudden spasm drew his head and torso further forward.
“k-chgt!”
He sighed out the remainder of his held breath. That was the other strange thing: ever since his Lord had disappeared, Mordecai had begun to occasionally sneeze, something he'd thought only ever afflicted mortals. He could not imagine the two occurrences to be unrelated, which only added another layer of mystery to the entire bizarre situation.
At first he had known neither what to think nor do about this new development to his physiology, but he quickly learned to stifle the unexpected and irritating outbursts, and had thus far managed to conceal his mysterious malady from the other members of the household staff. Dust seemed to affect him most strongly, as he had discovered when his Master’s library had undergone a thorough cleaning. By chance he happened to pass through the room at the time, and was seized by a prickle in his sinuses so fierce he practically teleported from the room before he made a spectacle of himself. He’d ended up back in his own chambers, stifling what felt like an endless onslaught of sneezes.
The present episode was not yet finished with him either. Slender fingers pinched his nostrils closed as another ticklish wave overcame him.
“kh-nxgkt!”
Once again he sighed out the unspent breath, a touch more vocal this time. Damn this vexing sensation! How did mortals deal with this annoying reflex on a regular basis? Two stifled sneezes, yet he felt little relief. He took his thumb and forefinger and rubbed them up and down the length of his nose, as though he might squeeze the irritation into submission. He sat back with an experimental sniff and was rewarded only with two hitching breaths as the prickling refused to abate.
“kh-CHNGX! Nhuh… Gods have mercy…”
Spent as he was from taking care of the imp insurgency, Mordecai's struggle with his sinuses grew tiresome even sooner than usual. He glanced around the room with watering eyes. With the housekeeping staff dispatched, he would be quite alone in the manor. Surely a single, unstifled sneeze was permissible under such circumstances?
He relaxed his shoulders and closed his eyes, waiting. Shallow breaths gave way to a deep inhalation, only to induce a groan when the sneeze failed to complete.
“Oh, come now…”
Of course it would deny him satisfaction the very moment he decided to allow it. What was worse, his nose still itched with maddening intensity. Truly a most stubborn tickle: unceasing in its torment, yet more reluctant to follow through than a bashful maiden on her wedding night.
Mordecai's gaze swept the top of the desk and landed upon the fine pen he used in his note-taking, or rather, the glossy feather that adorned it. Gears turned in his mind. Feathers produced a tickling sensation as well when lightly brushed over the skin… He took up the writing implement in his fingers and gave it a quick twirl, watching the firelight ripple across the feather’s barbs in an iridescent sheen. A voice in the back of his mind whispered that what he was about to attempt was absurd and embarrassing, but in that moment the desire for relief was stronger.
He brought the feather to his nose and brushed it across the tip in a tentative stroke. Aside from making the appendage twitch a bit, however, it didn’t have much effect. There was a definite tickling sort of feeling, but it was too on the surface to do much good. The next logical step, then, was obvious. Mordecai sniffled, then grimaced at what he was about to do. He’d need to replace the quill for sure.
Slowly, he inserted the tip of the feather just past the rim of his right nostril.
“Mmmh…”
It felt odd, certainly, but the sensation did not feel enough to dislodge the sneeze stuck in his sinuses. The itch itself felt deeper, so perhaps…
“Nnggh…”
Nose wrinkling, Mordecai pushed the plume deeper into his nostril, until the tip touched the spot where the tickle teased him most. The immediate effect it had on his breathing was promising, as his chest fluttered with a hitching breath.
“... hh… nn-hehh… c-come on…”
With a sharp sniff, the itching grew more intense again as the intake of breath made the feather twitch in the butler’s nose.
“Ah, g-gods-!”
Hot tears pricked the corners of his eyes and adorned his pale eyelashes as his breathing grew harsher and more erratic. Close, he was so close. In an effort to push himself over the edge, he rubbed together his thumb and forefinger holding the pen, causing the feather to twist inside his nostril. Eyes snapping shut, his lungs drew in a breath so deep he felt the fabric of his impeccably tailored waistcoat strain across his chest. He scarcely had time to draw the feather out of his nose before the sneeze took him.
“hhh-hHEH! hHH’kKSSHGHT! hh-GHSSHiuh! ATCHIUH!”
The single sneeze he meant to allow himself turned into a rapid-fire fit of three expulsions he had no hope of exerting any degree of control over, a sensation he held immense dislike for and was undoubtedly his least favorite aspect of this affliction. Any moment he was not in full control of was a moment in which he was vulnerable, and Mordecai Amadeus Catherwood, once known by a celestial name, knew all too well the disasters a moment of vulnerability could cause.
He clapped his free hand over his nose and mouth to stem the tide as more paroxysms came on the heels of the first three, doing his damnedest to stifle the rest.
“hh’chght! eh-skhdt! hheh-hhCHNXT! HH’GDCHT! HEHSHHT!”
By the time the fit subsided, Mordecai was left breathless and drained, slumped forward with his elbows propped on the fine mahogany surface of his Master’s desk. At least the imps had done a satisfactory job of polishing it before he’d slaughtered them, he noted.
“Gods,” he breathed, “what a ghastly state… Stone’s grace, the ignominy. I am never debasing myself in such a fashion again.”
Brushing a hand through his golden hair, he straightened once more in the chair with a sniffle. He’d found that small cotton cloths, normally used for polishing, were most effective for clearing the foulness that this condition brought to his sinuses, and he now kept one in a pocket at all times. He drew it out and set about composing himself, and within a few minutes he was again the picture of the adroit, dignified butler.
Mordecai let heave a sigh as he reached a hand forward to flip closed the cover of his notebook. The gilded pen sat to the side, the now-wetted tip of the black plume taking on an almost accusatory cast to his eye. Never again.
Soon he would get to the bottom of this mess, and then he could be free of this damnable condition. As soon as he finished the notes he’d spent so much time chronicling over the months, he would have an exhaustive manual on every detail of the ins and outs of running the Leroux Estate. This he would leave with a temporary replacement: someone who could carry on his duties in his absence. A certain succubus owed him a substantial favor. So many centuries had passed that he imagined she likely thought he’d forgotten about the debt or let it go, but, sadly for her, that was not the case. It was time to collect.
If no one else could ascertain the whereabouts of Demon Lord Oraion Moncerius Leroux, then Mordecai Amadeus Catherwood—major-domo of the Leroux Estate, unflinchingly loyal butler, and one of the deadliest beings the Demon Realm had ever known—would go fetch his Master himself.

What do their bedrooms/living areas look like? I'm going to use all 3 of my asks to request this for all of the boys if that's ok! ❤
Man, I’ve had this one in my secret notes for a good while now!
Undertale:
Both the tale brothers live in a nice little gated community. Their house is one of the smaller ones and has the same layout as the one in Snowdin. The house is pretty basic with some cozy throws and wall tapestries to spruce it up
Sans: his room actually has a proper bed and frame this time. The sheets and blankets are still bundled up in a pile on the floor though. Sans also has his homemade trashnado in the corner. There’s a desk on the wall adjacent to the door which has his laptop. And several folders stacked next to it. Other than a dresser, there’s literally nothing else in there. Sans doesn’t care much about stuff
Papyrus: his room has bright orange walls. He left the race car bed behind underground but has a race car blanket to make up for it. His walls are covered in superhero and comic posters. He also has a display case for some old figurines and his comic collection. Papyrus’ desk is one of those nice fancy drafting ones where he can adjust it to tilt upwards. He has a ship wheel attached to his door for some reason.
Underswap
The swap bros home is only a few blocks from the classic brothers neighborhood. The only thing basic about it is the cream walls. All the furniture and decorations are bright colors. The kitchen especially is real nice. The oven and stove are top notch, and the counters are filled with mason jars full of goodies.
Star: his room can blind a lesser man when you walk in. The walls are bright yellow, the bed (which is a bunk bed by the way) is neon orange. Galaxy posters decorate the wall. Besides the clashing colors, the furniture is pretty basic. Only the top bunk actually has a mattress. The bottom bunk is used as a storage shelf. He also has a shoe rack by his door
Honey: you can practically feel the nerdy aura as you enter his room. The first thing you see is a display case housing some neat figurines of characters from his favorite shows. He’s also got a pretty nice bookshelf on the opposite wall that’s nearly full. Honeys bed has a curtain around it for extra privacy with a nice little wall lamp above the pillows
Underfell
They have a home a little closer to the city center but still far enough to be considered suburbs. It’s a very sleek and modern house with white walls, tile floors and sleek black and metal furniture. The only thing that doesn’t fit the rest of the theme is this nasty old patched up sofa in the living room. The thing is absolutely hideous but is sooo comfy.
Red: his room has soft grey walls and smells like miter oil. Makes sense since one wall is just a long basic table covered in machine parts that red tinkers with in his down time. He actually doesn’t have a bed. Instead he sleeps on this giant leather bean bag. He likes it that way. There’s a few car posters decorating the walls
Edge: he obviously put a lot of thought into his rooms decorations. Everything is pretty black marble or a sleek white wood. His bed covers are blood red with a nice geometric designs on top in silver. He has a beautiful black desk with some pretty jars filled to the brim with nothing but novelty pens. If you looked in his desk drawers you would find notebooks and even more pens
Swapfell
They don’t own a house and instead live in a two bedroom one bath apartment on the third floor of one of lords complexes. The furniture is pretty minimalistic but very nice quality. Most decorations are metal
Mal: the first thing you’ll see in his room is a large wooden drawing desk where pencils and watercolors are neatly arranged on the side. There’s also a vanity with a light up mirror and a nice collection of makeup. Also a huge slanted hunters knife. He uses it to make sure his eyeliner is extra sharp.
Cash: his bedroom is the perfect definition of organized chaos. It looks messy but for cash, he knows exactly where every thing is. There’s a small tv in there with some old game consoles hooked up to it. The bed is never made.
Horrortale
Their home rests in a neighborhood bordering the forest of ebott. The houses there all have a lot more yard space than most houses in the city. The horrortale home is super cozy with lots of knit throws and pillows scattered around. The back patio has a little dog door and there’s a 50% chance of seeing a chicken walk through lol
Oak: his room is also pretty basic. The bed however has so many blankets. Like way more than any person should need. Oak is a blanket hoarder. There’s a lot of notebooks stacked on his wooden desk along with a file of patterned paper for scrapbooking.
Willow: his room has a raised bed with a cute little ladder on the side so that his dog can jump up. You can tell a lot of the furniture has been homemade or refurbished. The room is larger and in the middle is a circular stone table that’s stained with paint. It’s usually housing his latest craft
Underlust
They used to live in the same neighborhood as the classic brothers but have recently moved closer to the inner city because of work. Their home is still in the process of being unpacked mostly, but their rooms are done! The house is actually pretty conservative looking with grey walls, white wooden furniture and soft pastel decor. They do have a stripper pole in the living room though lol
Charm: his room looks exactly how you expect from him. Dark walls with lots of bright rave type decorations. On his dresser is a large pretty cake display that stands out from the rest of the rooms theme lol. His room is always on a state of organized chaos with his desk and bed covered in nick knacks but the floors staying oddly clean
Sugar: his room has light lavender walls and black furniture. It’s a big difference from the soft feminine style people expect from him. Instead sugar has a more sleek modern style to his room. He also has a standard mannequin in the middle that always has a new dresses pinned to it.
Fellswap (red)
They own a pretty two story house only a block away from the two apartment complexes that lord owns. The front lawn/garden is in top shape with lots of those metal flower decorations stuck in the ground along the dirt outline. Inside the house is most worn but comfy looking furniture. Nothing special
Lord: his room is pretty basic with mostly brown and grey accents. He does have a large mostly filled bookcase. There’s also two white bean bags and a deep red rug that covers nearly the whole floor of the room.
Mutt: he actually has two rooms. The first is pretty simple with just his bed, a writing desk and a rack for some shoes. Also his bird cage for KFC (pet pigeon). The second room has a sink, and several cages and boxes for the injured animals that he rehabilitates. The second room is slightly larger than his actual room.
Fellswap gold
They actually live in a studio apartment above wines antique shop. The apartment used to be an unused storage static until wine bought the building and repurposed it. The living space itself is a little small, but they also have access to the roof which the gold bros use as a potted garden and dining area.
Wine: his room is very classy with silk curtains on the window and a silky cream canopy above his head. All the furniture is a dark grey wood with pretty carvings and designs. The walls are decorated with beautiful floral paintings from his brother. It’s a pretty well planned out room. Very cosy and luxurious
Coffee: he has two rooms as well. The smaller of the two is just his bed, dresser, closet and a tv with some consoles hooked up to it. The second room has shelves lining nearly every wall except for one which is just a big collab mural. On the shelves is various art supplies and projects. There’s one large sketch desk on one wall. And finally in the middle of the room is a tarp attached to the floor housing whatever piece of furniture coffee is restoring at the moment .
Dancetale
They also own an apartment, one of the flats in lords buildings on the ground floor. It’s the other building from the swapfell brothers. The walls are painted a cheery yellow and the house is mostly decorated with spring colors. There’s always a huge bowl of fresh fruit in the kitchen.
Pop: his room is mix and match of completely different furniture and gadgets. Pop isn’t someone who cares about themes so he will keep whatever catches his fancy. Instead of a bed, he has a hammock attacked to the ceiling with a pillow and some throw blankets casually tossed on top lol.
Rhythm: his room is pretty sparse with just his bed, a shoe rack, and a dresser. On the dresser are pictures of each of his face classes right before they graduate. Rhythm doesn’t really care all that much about decor so the walls are pretty bare too
Outertale
They live in the same gated community as the classic brothers! The outertale home has high ceilings and lots of windows. The living room is the real centerpiece of the home. It has several large antique bookcases and display cases. Inside the displays are various rocks and crystals and the occasional fossil. It’s really neat.
Pluto: his room is comprised of mostly blues grays and greens. He has a small bookcase on the side of his bed where he keeps the things he’s currently reading. There’s also a large fish-tank with an assortment of saltwater fish inside. Pluto’s room also has a large circular fluffy rug in the middle of the floor. The floor itself is hardwood
Jupiter: his room has a similar color scheme except instead of greens, Jupiter has gold instead. He has some exercise equipment stacked nicely on the side of his bed including weights. There’s a wall tapestry with a printed picture of the asteroid belt the outertale monsters used to live in.
Gastertale
The gaster brothers also live in the same neighborhood as the classic and outertale bros. They’re at the very end in the little cul-de-sac. The interior of the house is almost all white with cream carpet, metro grey walls, and white furniture. A few of the small decorations add a bit of color. There’s a lot of potted succulents.
G: his room is probably the only dark room of the house. His walls are a charcoal grey and the furniture is mostly jet black with a few mustard colored decorations. There’s a metal wire bookcase hanging on the wall. G also has a plastic anatomy dummy that he dresses up in his motorcycle gear when he’s not using it. G thinks he’s funny
Green: like the rest of the home, his room is also mostly white. He has a pretty pale green rack for all of his glasses on his dresser. Green also has his several degrees framed in silver on the walls. his room is always spotless
Farmtale:
The farm bros have an old Victorian home that they fixed up themselves. They’re home borders the acres of farmland they own and is about a 45 minute drive from ebott city. The inside is decorated with mostly wooden furniture. There’s like four rocking chairs on the porch lol
Peaches: his room fits the theme of the house with mostly wooden furniture and a lot of quilts and rugs to add color and soften it up. Peaches always has a vase of fresh wildflowers on his dresser. The walls have photographs of plants and animals taped to them that peaches took himself.
Rancher: this mad lad has a large moose skull hanging above his four poster log cabin bed. He also hangs his favorite hunting rifles just below the moose lol. His bedroom is mostly wooden of course but is also decorated with lots of red and orange plaids.
Horrorfell
They live in the same neighborhood as the horrortale and horrorswap brothers. Their home is literally right in between the two. Inside it’s decorated in a mix between sleek modern metals and frumpy cozy style. Somehow the horrorfell bros still have their original sofa from the underground. There’s a lot of little homemade staircases for their cat doomfanger who’s too old to claim on top of things herself now
Rust: his walls are painted a soft heather grey and have some basic wooden decorations that noir painted for fun. The furniture is pretty normal with the exception of a large treasure style chest next to his bed. Open it up and you’ll find a collection of drawings and gifts from the kids he’s watched over the years. Rust didn’t have the heart to throw them away.
Noir: unsurprisingly, his room is littered in canvases and paintings on the walls. It’s divided into two sides: the messy paint side and his nice neat living side. He even has a line of tape going down the middle to complete the divide. On his living side is his bed, closet, and a low bookcase that he uses as a second dresser. The actual bookcase is in the living room
Horrorswap
As y’all all know, their house is right next to the horrorfells and one house away from the horrortales. They like bright colors and have a sort of summery themed house. The best part is the back garden which is filled with garden boxes of veggies, fruit bushes, and fruit trees.
Lilac: his rooms main color is a pretty powder blue along with canary yellow and some bright green. He has a yoga mat on the floor in place of a rug. The walls have some neat sunrise posters
Basil: his room is pretty cosy with lots of knit blankets and fluffy pillows. He has a massive poster of Pixar’s ratatouille that rust got him as a joke. Basil has like five coconut planters, each housing a different herb plant making his room smell like an Italian restaurant
The Mafias (tale, fell, swap)
The mafia brothers live in an apartment complex masquerading as a warehouse. The ground and top two floors are working area while there were three secret basement levels. The mafia bros home consists of the whole bottom level with all their rooms connected to a hallway. At the end of the hallway is a living space and the kitchen.
Snipe: his room is the one closest to the living area. Inside is sage walls with a few house plants that can survive in low light. His bed is almost never made lol. If one was to tear the room apart, they would find at least six different guns stashed in hidden compartments
Bruiser: his room is the closest to the staircase. Inside the room somehow looks super messy but is actually spotless. Bruiser decorates the walls with all kinds of gifts people randomly give him during his vigilante escapes. Stuff from pocket mirrors, to foreign currency to even a small collection of sea shells. He drilled holes into them and hung them up on strings. Other than his walls, the furniture is pretty plain
Butch: his room is a mix of greys, blacks an silvers with the basics of furniture and a small black leather sofa. On the walls are some pretty hand melded metal decorations that butch made himself. He smokes in his room so it reeks of cigars
Boss: his room fits him perfectly with clean white plaster walls, sleek metal furniture and black and gold marble decor. Everything in that room has a specific place. If anyone moved his stuff, he’d know. It’s the only mafia bro room that doesn’t caught smell like smoke somehow. There’s a male model mannequin that he uses to practice designing clothes on
Ace: the most eye catching part of his room is a large vanity with several lamps attached and a very extensive makeup kit. I’m talking professional grade. Ace isn’t the spy for nothing. He also has an open closet so all his clothing is out on display. The main color of his room is mauve funny enough
Slim: his room is a drab grey and has a large desk taking up a whole wall. It’s filled with screens and monitors. He also has a few tv screens hooked up to the wall. It almost looks like a security room. On the other side is his bed with a canopy curtain for privacy. There’s a few anime posters on the wall as well
