I like to imagine post-canon Near as a recluse whose handful of friends attempt to drag them outside every now and then for dinner or a shopping trip, all while Near hunches in the background and acts like a disgruntled and bereaved specter.

My passion is drawing scenes that nebulously take place sometime after the conclusion of my 240k fic about Near and Mikami :P It all makes sense, trust me!

I drew this comic nearly two years ago and thought, "I need to finish my fic so this will make sense." And I have!! 🥳 So happy anniversary to a duo that never interacts substantially in canon. It's been two years since I started this AU and nine years from the characters' POV (2015-2024).

I cleaned up one of my earliest M2EB sketches, based on that one Parks and Rec scene with all the bees :P

This exchange fits nicely for L and Misa, but I live in a world where Misa actually survived the end of Death Note, and I love thinking about how she must seem to Near.

Today, I bring you one of the first drawings that I made for Mikami 2. The original draft is dated June 13th, 2022, but I couldn't resist polishing things up before posting it C:

Behold what is probably my most colorful creation to date: Misa Frank 💖🐬✨

More art to go along with this fic! :D I like the idea of Mikami being confronted with mundane problems like the cost of cheese—and I also think that it'd be a valid concern for him, if he were banned from practicing the law and had to adjust to living on a smaller budget.

I wanted to try my hand at a chibi-esque style, so of course, I drew my two favorite Death Note characters, as they appear in this fic. Figuring out how to draw a Shiba that wouldn't clash with this style was difficult for me, so I used the character Bao Bao from the cartoon "Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart" for inspiration C:

Here are a couple of doodles inspired by this fic. I imagine that, in the first drawing, Near and Mikami are discussing Light's "seduction" methods during the Kira murders and how exactly he managed to kill L. In the second, I imagine that Sayu is struggling to keep up with the contradictory "fake married" versus "real married" stories that Near and Mikami keep telling her :P
