And I still think it's unfair that Nihlus dies so early and is not a romance option.

Tbh ME 1 haven't aged particularly well I think. Locations feel small and almost claustrophobic, even those that should feel big like Citadel. And most of dialogue is very over the top und frankly almost ridiculous.

Tbh I wouldn't have said no to a full remake with bigger locations and more variety in the world. More romance options for FemShep as well as for MaleShep. I would have liked to romance Harris as a FemShep right from the first game for example. Also where is turian and drell romance options for the male MC? Quarian romance option for the FemShep? Corgan romance options all together???

Also it would have been very nice to have more romances that go through all 3 games or through at least 2 games because right now most options are for the one game only and there's no continuation for them with development of the plot.

Side note: I've realized that with the exception of Vows Unspoken, all my top-kudos fics are stories I wrote almost a decade ago (if not actually a decade ago). I feel like that somewhat speaks to the current climate that I see other writers discussing. My Ace Attorney fics were all kinkmeme fills, where there was a community.

4). What fandoms do you write for?

I've dabbled all over the place. Wrote for a lot of anime for a while. Now I'm mostly sticking with video games, particularly the Dragon Age fandom.

5). Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

When I can! It makes me SO excited to receive any comments at all, and I love being able to talk with people about my writing.

6). What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Ehhh probably She is the Healing, I Am the Pain. It's a Miraculous Ladybug fic that focuses on Chat Noir with the idea of the Ladybug Magic not healing everything. It was a gift-fic I wrote for someone I used to talk to on tumblr.

7). What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Oh. I like happy endings a lot of the time. There are just so many, honestly. I can't pick one.

8). Do you get hate on fics?

Hasn't happened yet, though I did get some comments at one point that felt a little judgy of my writing style. So now I moderate my comments.

9). Do you write smut?

Sometimes! It depends on the fic and my mood.

10). Do you write crossovers?

I do not. I don't like crossovers in general, personally.

11). Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I am aware of.

12). Have you ever had a fic translated?

No. Someone asked if they could once, but I never found out if they actually did.

13). Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

Kinda? I was co-writing an original fiction at one point with an online friend that I had met through FFN. But that fell apart. Now, most of my collaborative storytelling is with an RP with one friend that I used to play Dungeons & Dragons with.

14). What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Oh that's tough. I wrote a lot for Klavier/Apollo for a while there. But I tend to write a lot more OC works (or characters where the MC can be tailored, like Dragon Age or Mass Effect).

One of my favorites to write for has been either Cullen Rutherford/Lavellan, or FemShep/Joker.

15). What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Probably Fate's Triage, if I'm being honest. It's a Modern Girl in Thedas fic. And I started off strong and really enjoying it. But I'm having a hard time getting the energy and words to flow for that one.

16). What are your writing strengths?

I really love digging into characters, and I think I get a good handle on a character's "voice" really well.

17). What are your writing weaknesses?

I struggle a lot with the "connective" pieces, which is why I have a lot of trouble writing multi-chapter fics.

18). Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

It depends. If it's a short piece, like a pet name or a commonly-used phrase, then I'll use it and write it in italics to set it apart as obviously different.

But for longer bits, or even a full sentence, it depends on the perspective of the focal character. Does the character whose POV I'm focusing on know the language? Are they familiar enough to understand? Would they even recognize the individual words? If yes, I might write as stated before. If no, then I describe that the character speaking a foreign language says something they didn't catch/understand.

If the POV character is the one using the foreign language, then it gets a little tricky. I'm a huge language nerd. But I also know that not everyone is going to be me and look up the translation for every sentence in another language. I have to be picky and choosy about it.

19). First fandom you wrote for?

Naruto, I think. I was like 12. But I was coming up with ideas for stuff when I was in elementary school for Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. I just never wrote any of it down.

20). Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

Ever?! Oh that's tough.

Real talk, I'm really proud of my current WIP Steal into My Melancholy Heart because I'm exploring some really fun ideas with using magic as a therapy tool in the Dragon Age setting.

But I also really loved writing Something in the Way (you roll your eyes) for NaNo a few years ago and that Arranged Marriage AU with FemShep and Joker just really scratched an itch for me. lol

It is still open that all of what's been shown is "Bay chosen pathing", while "Bae chosen pathing" hasn't and won't go that route. For me it is an absolute dealbreaker, before it was on what Pricefield went through together; now its been reinforced because every single potential romantic interest shown in the footage so far is utterly lacking.

Actually what I've seen others mention is LiS2 = 4 years after LiS1; where DE has been referred to as "a couple of years after LiS". "couple" = 2 in general terminology. Regardless one doesn't go through the events that Pricefield did and show the importance they have to each other only to break up. What's worse is the tacking on new romantic interests as they mention that in the live stream footage, which massively reinforces the idea that if Pricefield is broken up it isn't because of their dynamics. Its so that Decknine can shove in lacking ass new romances. On top of that there isn't a shred of anything shown so far that justifies having Max return as the MC thus fucking with a 10 year old iconic LGBT+ pairing with new shoved in bullshit romances. Ones that will NEVER reach the levels that Pricefield did, where:

Max's Rewind powers awoke at seeing Chloe shot

the two literally facing a giant ass supernatural storm together and Max choosing Chloe (in the Bae in ending)

faced off against a psychotic ass teacher

have years of history even before the story proper started

have unrivaled chemistry with the only other pair in Blackwell saga coming close is AmberPrice

understand each other

DontNod stated that Max's story was done in LiS1, which in itself should be enough to break canon; especially with it being Decknine not DontNod touching DontNod's core canon. But they're dragging her back into a story that doesn't need her specifically and in many ways would actually be better off & better received by having a new character instead.

I'm all for diversity and I'm all for having a new setting with new set of characters; but not if it means breaking up my 10 years iconic LGBT+ pair. Especially not shoving in unwanted lacking new romantic interests in that place as if LGBT+ can just be swapped out like that. Now they want to make me happy it'd be simple enough to do in giving the choice to shut off the other romantic interests and instead lock in Pricefield; because THAT is MY pathing. I don't give a shit about Amanda, I don't give a shit about Gwen, I don't give a shit about Moses, I don't give a shit about Safi, or anyone else romantically because they're utterly fucking lacking and always will. Give me phone calls from Chloe maintaining the relationship and either having Max temporarily away cause "artist-in-residence" is a period of time thing; or having Chloe catching up later in other words end of the game ready to move in; because that's my choice. LiS2 handled this so damn much better by not playing into the break up to make room for new romance bullshit and make no mistake at all, that is exactly what the fuck this is. The one thing Decknine should do is what Mass Effect and even fucking Dragon Age has done, giving the option to say fuck the new I want to continue my established relationship. I had FemShep x Liara from ME -> ME2 -> ME3; and my Gray Warden in DA:O x Leiliana -> Inquisition still being a thing just without me being in the driver's seat there. Potentially breaking up a 10 year old iconic LGBT+ pairing just to try to shove in new romances = poisoning the well and just sows in place a fuck these characters and fuck this game.

That if this is actually what Decknine is going for, which admittedly this isn't from them its tvtropes people interpreting things. But if it happens to line up with the game, then fuck this game and fuck every single lacking ass option shown thus far. Not a damn one comes close to Chloe's level or Pricefield instead being shoehorned in bullshit. If it isn't the case then this is the next damn thing that needs to be clarified, since the being able to choose which ending path to progress down has been addressed.

I'll stick with DontNod's own damn canon continuation of the Bae route in LiS2.

Mass Effect Tag Game, Except I Get No ME Mutuals

 To celebrate finishing 3, here I go!

Been a fan since: Late February 2022. I got into it from a combination of this Youtube video by a Tali simp about ME3 and I just finished Dragon Age Origins after watching some TikToks on it and figured I’d go on a Bioware marathon. I originally meant to switch between Dragon Age and Mass Effect to keep myself balanced. I ended up playing the whole ME Trilogy one after the other.

Favorite game in the series: Absolutely ME2. I love all the games for different reasons, ME1′s exploration and ME3′s combat, but 2 is the most balanced. The large cast, the companion side quests, the way the ship was bigger, WAY better outfits for Shepard, and the scanning feature were all so fun. My main gripe in MELE is that ME2 is the only game that limits your weapon arsenal. Why the hell do Vanguards need an SMG? They don’t hit hard and suck unless it’s the DLC one!!! Other than that it’s so full of content despite being shorter than 3 by how many hours I’ve played.

MShep or FemShep: FemShep. I am female and I always prefer female MC voices in games anyway. Although props to MShep’s VA, love VAs that interact with communities.

Earthborn, Colonist, or Spacer: Colonist. The side quest in ME1 is very sad and that one little clip of dialogue in 3... my heart.

Biotics or Tech: Biotics. Nothing beats floating enemies in the air or blasting them with Flare.

Paragon or Renegade: Paragade. I feel it fleshes out my Shepard more, although I’m a massive hypocrite sometimes with my choices of dialogue. It’s fun as hell though, and it’s how I could easily save both the Quarians and Geth.

Favorite Class: Vanguard supremacy! I also really love ME3′s Sentinel since I wanted to change up classes and wanted to keep up with my character’s biotics gig. Vanguard was super fun, but kind of hard to master for ME2. I’d say Vanguard would work best for me in 3 since I charge in or just run around the battlefield. I definitely want to do an Infiltrator playthrough though.

Favorite Companion: Garrus! I kinda of forced myself to use him and Liara in the first game to see why everyone likes them, but only Garrus stuck the mark for me. Liara’s cool, but Garrus surprisingly was so cool an in depth in 1 compared to many other characters for me. And how they develop him even further with the next games.. ugh! He’s amazing, like if Nick Valentine and Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd combined but before either was even an idea.

Least Favorite Companion: Zaheed is the only companion in the games I do not like, which actually shows how the casts is either very well written or at least likable. Not Zaheed. With how he and Kasumi’s dialogue was designed, it’s hard to get to know and understand him as a character. Plus he is a boring asshole WHO SET A FACTORY ON FIRE! Look, I’m all for revenge, I let Garrus kill that stupid traitor because that’s not something you can forgive, but don’t fucking put other people in danger for it. Dude even dies pathetically too in 3.

Squad Set Up: Garrus is always there like a little girl’s worn out teddy bear, balancing out my biotics. And Tali whenever she was avaliable. Liara, Kasumi, and Samara were my backup teammates

Favorite In-Game Romance: Garrus 100% all the way. I love his chemistry with Shepard, especially my Shepard. They are opposites in playstyles, and they are each other’s impulse control on stupid decision making. I love romances who banter like an old married couple but balance each other out on a deeper level.  I also have massive respect for Tali and Thane fans, Tali being my second favorite character, and Thane just being a sad character. Thane simps make me cry because those guys are the queens of angst.

Favorite NPC: Donnelly and Daniels by far. Going down to Engineering felt a lot more alive with them around. They were cute and really funny. I wish they got together :(

Favorite Antagonist: Uhhhhh... uh oh. I don’t really any particular favor towards any of thems. Saren is cool, that fight cutscene at the bomb area is way cooler than with the Salarians. The Illusive Man has cool motivations and corruption arc, especially with the comics. The Reapers being ruthless AI is cool. The Collectors are sad too. Nothing sticks out to me though. I’ll just say the ME2 final boss I guess. That shit was badass and made me so hyped up.

Favorite Loyalty Mission: Miranda and Tali’s are so good!! They aren’t tedious like Thane and Samara’s, and the emotions I’ve felt during them were very sweet. Kasumi’s would be up here too if I didn’t suck at undercover missions.

Favorite Mission: Virmire is the mission in Mass Effect 1 that let me truly realize that my choices would be rewarded or punished VERY heavily at certain points. Doing Wrex’s mission before, choosing which teammate to sacrifice, and the hype before going to Ilos was what ruly made me enjoy this series. Mass Effect 1 is a good game. Virmire and beyond make it a great game.

Favorite DLC: CITADEL! CITADEL! CITADEL! CITADEL! Call it the inner weeb from me, but I do believe that the new Mass Effect would benefit from a companion system similar to like Three Houses or even Persona 5. I KNOW I KNOW it sound cringe but Citadel shows us that we love those moments between Shepard and the crew. AND they could get more character development and dialogue. No more calibrations! Or at least let us invite the gang to the bar or nightclub or just to watch a movie. I loved eating with my students in Three Houses, and I’d LOVE to go on dinner dates with Garrus and Tali. Other than Citadel, Omega and Shadow Broker are really good too! Aria’s Flare really made me know why you should not fuck with her. The Shadow Broker DLC was also a nice little archive for the squad’s personal information, getting money, and just watching people be stupid as hell in the vid showcase. Definitely has a nice reward for completing it.

Control, Synthesis, or Destroy: I chose Destroy in case we can port our Shepards from LE in the next game (I doubt it but I don’t like taking chances) but all of them feel sad. At least Control has a badass idea behind it. So... Idk I just want some Garrussy man. Just let me be happy in the next game

Favorite Weapons: I’m a very bad Vanguard. I like the geth assault rifle from the first game, and the Widow sniper rifle. Guess I have another reason to like Garrus. By 3 my Sentinel used snipers, assault rifles, and pistols in case I have no ammo. My power suffered as a result but I WAS RIGHT ABOUT AMMO AT THE END! I like to be prepared :(

Favorite Place: The Normandy SR2 before the Alliance fucked it up, and the Plaza from the Citadel DLC. I loved playing arcade games and getting decorations for my house and then hanging out with my friends :)))

Did you see the thing about Henry Cavill hinting at a new project on instagram while holding up a blurred stack of papers that contained Mass Effect lore?

I did! This will likely be an unpopular opinion but unless he is Kaidan and the MC is Femshep I don't want it. I've never really wanted a Mass Effect adaptation because the way I played the game is so deeply personal to me and I feel like no adaptation would make those same choices you know?

For the first time you think you’ve managed to catch Seraphina, the sin of lust off guard. She’s looking at you surprised for a moment and just as you start to feel smug a slow smirk spreads a across her lips. Uh oh...that bet may have been a mistake...

It is a bit difficult to actually sneak up on Jerahmeel, said angel is often observing the world around him that this stupid bet might get you no where. With a deep breath you take your chance and quickly peck him on the lips. He looks curiously at you, head tilted in an adorable manner. “Is that a form of greeting?”

He is so focused on the book he’s reading you almost feel bad for disturbing him. Quietly you creep up behind him, before he can even react properly you kiss him and run out of the room. Missing the flushed face and hand reaching out after you.

You hate this. It was a horrible idea to bet with Seraphina and now you have to deal with her stupid punishment and possible death by embarrassment. Freezing you see the two sins, who no doubt will be the cause of your demise. With a deep breath you rush over and before either one can do anything, pull them one at a time in a bruising kiss. As they try and gather themselves you rush out, not seeing the looks of utter surprise and slight lust trail you.
