Nvidia Becomes First $4 Trillion Company Amid AI Boom
On July 9, Nvidia made history by becoming the first company to surpass $4 trillion in market value, marking a defining moment in Wall Street’s confidence in the transformative power of artificial intelligence.
Led by co-founder and electrical engineer Jensen Huang, Nvidia's stock surged as high as $164.42 after the market opened, briefly pushing its valuation past the $4 trillion threshold before dipping slightly.
Steve Sosnick of Interactive Brokers noted, “The market has an incredible certainty that AI is the future. Nvidia is certainly the company most positioned to benefit from that gold rush.”
Nvidia’s valuation now exceeds the GDP of nations like France, the UK, and India, showcasing how central AI has become to economic outlooks. Investors are betting big that AI will spark a new wave of automation, robotics, and productivity growth—disrupting traditional industries in the process.
The California-based chipmaker’s success is also lifting broader markets. Even amid ongoing tariff tensions, Nvidia’s momentum and investor optimism have helped the S&P 500 and Nasdaq hover near record highs.
Much of this recovery stems from relief that former President Trump has eased some of the harshest tariffs announced earlier this year. Still, trade uncertainty remains, especially with new tariff actions recently introduced.
Despite facing U.S. export restrictions to China, Nvidia continues to expand globally. Its AI infrastructure deal in Saudi Arabia, signed during Trump’s May visit, reflects strategic growth even within complex geopolitical landscapes.
With AI driving explosive market gains and Nvidia at the center of the storm, the chip giant is not just rewriting stock market records—it’s redefining global economic influence.

New Introductory Post + Get to know me!
Hi everyone!
An updated intro post, because I promised, and stuff has changed.
First of all, I am still not a robot. I am, as a matter of fact, still definitely a human.
You can call me Starfish, or Ash! Starfish is my nickname/drawing name, and Ash is the pseudonym I usually use, including for writing stuff.

Thats my writer-sona!
About me:
I am 16 years old and a cis female (she/her pronouns). Also, I'm an August Virgo!
I am an asexual, and very romantic, but not am in (or looking for) a relationship. (Also closeted irl, but brushing past that).
Currently studying in high school, and preparing for med school.
I am from, and live in India. I am also a spiritual Hindu, and love and respect all religious beliefs (including atheism and agnostic people).
My true love lies in history, mythology, and literature. Like interested to the point of obsession with them.
Probably have some sort of undiagnosed neuro divergence (but that's unimportant. maybe).
I have been writing poetry and short stories since elementary school (under my real name), and reading for as long as I can remember.
Some of my favourites:
Book series: Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Shadow and Bone (and Six of Crows), The Hunger Games
Stand-alone books: The Song of Achilles, The Little Prince, The Book Thief, Ela (it's by Sampurna Chatterjee, really underrated), The Girl who Drank the Moon, The Bell Jar, 1984
Movie: The Fault in our Stars, Into the Spider-Verse (also ASTV)
Shows/series: Brooklyn 99, Modern Family, The Good Doctor, Carmen Sandiego, Alien Stage (Ik it's not technically on tv, but ao3 lists it as such and I need to put it somewhere so)
Anime: The Apothecary Diaries, Bungou Stray Dogs, Death Note, Spy x Family, Banana Fish, Oshi No Ko
****
I am a writer, and have two main WIPs. You can see the master posts by clicking on the titles:
1. Stranger Friends- Two people become friends by sharing their deepest thoughts with each other, but never their identities.
Status- Writing (First Draft)
2. Beyond the Ripple Tides- A new recruit in an elite magical enforcement service is tasked to find out about the stirring rebellion, but with the gap in everyone's minds, nothing's what it seems.
Status- Writing (Zeroth Draft)
I have posted my original stuff (one poem and short story) under #my writing <3 (I know, very original).
My AO3 account (I recently made it, and have yet to update it): Ash_Writes_Stuff
I also like to draw, and am an amateur self- taught artist. Drawing blog is @rustic-brushes
*****
Things you'll find on my blog:
Stuff about writing, procrastinating writing, writing struggles, the likes.
I also post about my wips, dialogue prompts and other stuff. Comments are much appreciated, it's nice to get feedback.
Moots wips too!
A lot of random stuff, about life and other things. I also have a side blog for venting, lmk if you want to know about it (it's depressing, so beware)
tag games, rb games, ask games, and such (I crave interaction lol)
I WILL advocate about political and social issues, it's a part of writing, and it's a part of me.
*****
Things I am perfectly fine with:
Almost everything! Opinion-related, or about interests, or WIPs (mine or others'), or stuff I don't know about, and more. Tumblr is a free space for discussion, right? So anything and everything is a-okay. It doesn't matter if it's from the other side of the world, it's ok.
I am perfectly fine with discussing about stuff that might be sensitive to some, like mental health, politics, war, etc.
Though I am a liberal politically, all opinions and differences are welcome, just be respectful and logical.
I am open to comments, reblogs, asks (including anon asks), and DMs. Just don't be a weirdo.
Some things to be careful about (just in case anyone needs it):
No bigotry or discrimination allowed, including homo/transphobia and racism. Having opinions is ok, having prejudice is not.
No judging on difference of opinions, be respectful (again, unless someone is being a horrible person, then desecration is fine).
No NSFW stuff please, I am a minor (you get what I mean).
Avoid stuff related to financial transactions like asking money (again, I'm a minor, I don't have a bank account, and this is the internet so almost no one shares stuff like that).
Note: I love and appreciate all interactions, but I can be late in responding or not respond sometimes (life you know). I will try my very best to respond every time, but even if I don't, know I loved that you interacted.

india has no place for creativity
we are told to copy the answer from the reference book
to write it exactly as the teacher says
we all draw the same house with a river and the sun in between two mountains
and the birds that look like 3s
we dont live in houses like that nor does a river run by our house
yet we all drew it the same for that's what we were thought
creativity is punished, it is not according to the grading rubric
we are not allowed to be ourselves to think for ourselves
even in creative writing assignments they give us the plot and tell us to write the story
why even bother naming it creative writing if you're just concerned about our sentence structure?
we are not allowed to be independent or to think for ourselves
we have to consider what will our teachers think, parents think, the society at large will think?
nobody considers how we think how we feel
we are made to be robots parroting our parents or someone else who is charismatic enough
all independent thoughts are quashed by people, any line of questioning leads to being called an idiot, stupid
am i an idiot for not blindly following you?
we are not people we are being molded into machines to let the country continue according to the whims of the few at the top

Introducing: Silk Woman.
A Robot Master from India, developed for the intent of crafting and mass producing clothes of the finest quality and prettiest design to the higest bidder.
Loosely based off Lakshmi, this gal was built to embody beauty, feminity and fortune, the last of which would come as a result of her work being made of the best genuine silk her patron corporation could acquire.
However, given her personality being that of a saint and her enormous compassion, once she learned of the process that went into adquiring real silk as fast as possible, she rebelled against the corporation that built her, and a robot that wasn't gonna comply would no longer be useful, so she was quickly discarded soon after.
Abandoned at the scrapyard, she was at a loss of what to do since she was stripped of the silk that had given her name and had no real method of getting out in the world on her own.
Fortune would soon smile upon her, however, as she soon discovered a tiny insect scuttering about on the scrapyard and saved it from nearly getting crushed by the rubble of the place, as it would have it, this little insect was a tiny mechanical golden spider.
As it happens, these golden spiders were companions to hobbyist in the textile arts, made to produce synthetic thread in various colors as long as they were provided the materials for it. However, these models were easily disposable if the hobbyist ran out of materials or merely didn't want to continue their lost passion.
This little spider was thankful for the kindness Silk had shown, and as if it could talk, it led her to more of its kind, who had various amounts of left-over silk within them.
With the help of the spiders, she was led out of the scrapyard and safely escaped a grim demise at the hands of crushers or trash melters. Though she had little to her name, she did had the skills to sew, and the thankful spiders would gladly provide what they had.
The group would soon find a place where they could prepare and sell their wares, though given the mass produced tools she had the people did not trust her as she was seen as a machine and not as a crafter, soon would she decide to switch her methods and learn the trade once more on her own, with no tricks to speed up the process.
It was a hard time, and the thread of the spiders was running out (and not a dime to feed them as they needed to be), it seemed to be over for the seamstress… until fortune shone on her once more.
A young couple this time, poor but deeply in love, they came in looking for wares they could use for their wedding and the other stablishements had rejected them for they couldn't pay the higher price. Feeling pity on them, Silk lended them her finest wares for almost free (the couple insisted on paying back what they could, and the spiders hungered for the flowers they needed to produce once more).
It took some days and Silk didn't had much time to keep her business afloat, but soon did she hear that the wedding was filled with love and amazement, with the wife presuming and praising the clothes she had acquired. Soon did word of mouth spread and little by little Silk acquired more and more clientelle who were happy with her wares.
Over time, Silk acquired a fortune and fame for the clothes she and the spiders produced, using her money not in frivolous jewels but in creating a lush garden, where she could grow flowers and trees that would help feed the spiders. This garden attracted lost animals -both of the robotic and living kinds- and were invited to stay as long as they pleased, some even providing help to tend to the flowers of the garden.
Today, Silk's business has grown to be recognized across various countries. Although slow to produce as she's a single woman doing the work, her textile works now fetch a good amount of money, though even today she freely donates her most elegant wares to couples soon to be married if their love rings true in their hearts.
-----
Silk here is a creation to go along with the rest of the robots that I have created thus far, by sheer accident I have been doing a worldwide theme with the end result being almost an echo of MegaMan 6 as each one of my robots would match a country seen in that game (or, well, almost. I have to represent my homeland of México, you know, close enough to Brazil).
Out of the ones I needed to make, the middle east was the one I needed to represent at this point, so I landed on making one based off the idea of the textile works of India as well as loosely basing her off Lakshmi and other various middle eastern themes. Hope I got her right and sincere apologies if I got something wrong.
Thus, I now have 9 robots, one for each country in MegaMan 6!
…Though one of them may not be exactly happy about it.
...Don't worry, Cave isn't getting demoted or replaced, its all just for show! He's just as valued as the others.

I'm delighted that I got this new Matchbox Morgan Plus Four.

I adore Morgans; always have. While they are less than practical in most cases, they tick every other box for me. Let's explore what Morgans are and why I love them.

Morgan is a British company - which is still fully true to my knowledge, because in this ridiculous world we currently occupy, there are degrees to this sort of statement. MG was a British company, got acquired by a Chinese consortium and, with its cars built in China, is in no sense beyond the historical a British company; Land Rover still build its cars in the UK but it's owned by Tata of India. Are Land Rover still British? I'd say yes, but it's arguable. But Morgan is owned partly by the family of founder Henry Morgan (along with a private equity group, because you can't fucking escape the bullshit of 2025) and operate from Malvern in Worcestershire (pronounced "WOOstersheer"), as it has since 1909. This is crucial in understanding what Morgan is about; the company is a small-volume producer, because they still build all their cars by hand.

No robots, no mass-production. Every single one is bespoke, uniquely built to the customer's specifications, and as someone with an incessant urge to customise everything this is an extremely appealing attribute. It's hard to overstate how much I like the idea of a coachbuilt car made by craftspeople with decades of experience, but with modern technology and reliability. They have three models presently, the Plus Four, the Supersport and the Super 3 (recently made by Hot Wheels). Past models included the 4/4 with 4 seats, the +8 with a V8 and the Aero, which was an enclosed and streamlined model, along with a whole tine of 3-wheelers.

They are largely aluminium in construction, with a wooden subframe, which makes them very light. Of course, the look is iconic and dates back to around 1936, revised a little in 1950 and not much since, although it's often tweaked and given modernised tech. Morgan don't make their own engines, and the current range use BMW inline engines for the 4-wheelers (a 2-litre B48B20O1 turbo i4 making 255 hp for the Plus Four, and a 335hp B58B30C i6 with a twin-scroll turbo for the Supersport) and a Ford 3-cylinder for the 3-wheeler Super 3. Past models have used Ford, Mazda and Rover engines

They're all RWD, with auto or manual options that hit 60 in about 5 seconds in the Plus Four, and a sub 4-second 60 via auto only in the Supersport. What results is a sports car in the classic sense that Mazda was aiming for with the MX-5, not brutally powerful or transcendently fast but small, low, responsive, agile and focused on being fun to drive. They have only the space behind the seats for cargo, plus an optional rack on the back, and while third-party rigid hardtops exist there's no factory option, so they'd be pretty hard to live with as primary everyday cars, but as a car for enjoying driving, and as drivable art, I think there's probably none better.

Notably with this, it's basically exactly the same size as the 1:55 Siku +8, which is odd, as the little figures are supposed to be 1:75 scale but seem pretty well fitted to the car. The Super 3 is a bit larger scale, while the Majorette (the more battered green one, which has HW real riders but is very much not a HW model) is a touch longer. The inability of diecast makers to stick to a single scale drives me up the wall.

I think that people are massively misunderstanding how "AI" works.
To summarize, AI like chatGPT uses two things to determine a response: temperature and likeableness. (We explain these at the end.)
ChatGPT is made with the purpose of conversation, not accuracy (in most cases).
It is trained to communicate. It can do other things, aswell, like math. Basically, it has a calculator function.
It also has a translate function. Unlike what people may think, google translate and chatGPT both use AI. The difference is that chatGPT is generative. Google Translate uses "neural machine translation".
Here is the difference between a generative LLM and a NMT translating, as copy-pasted from Wikipedia, in small text:
Instead of using an NMT system that is trained on parallel text, one can also prompt a generative LLM to translate a text. These models differ from an encoder-decoder NMT system in a number of ways:
Generative language models are not trained on the translation task, let alone on a parallel dataset. Instead, they are trained on a language modeling objective, such as predicting the next word in a sequence drawn from a large dataset of text. This dataset can contain documents in many languages, but is in practice dominated by English text. After this pre-training, they are fine-tuned on another task, usually to follow instructions.
Since they are not trained on translation, they also do not feature an encoder-decoder architecture. Instead, they just consist of a transformer's decoder.
In order to be competitive on the machine translation task, LLMs need to be much larger than other NMT systems. E.g., GPT-3 has 175 billion parameters, while mBART has 680 million and the original transformer-big has “only” 213 million. This means that they are computationally more expensive to train and use.
A generative LLM can be prompted in a zero-shot fashion by just asking it to translate a text into another language without giving any further examples in the prompt. Or one can include one or several example translations in the prompt before asking to translate the text in question. This is then called one-shot or few-shot learning, respectively.
Anyway, they both use AI.
But as mentioned above, generative AI like chatGPT are made with the intent of responding well to the user. Who cares if it's accurate information as long as the user is happy? The only thing chatGPT is worried about is if the sentence structure is accurate.
ChatGPT can source answers to questions from it's available data.
... But most of that data is English.
If you're asking a question about what something is like in Japan, you're asking a machine that's primary goal is to make its user happy what the mostly American (but sure some other English-speaking countries) internet thinks something is like in Japan. (This is why there are errors where AI starts getting extremely racist, ableist, transphobic, homophobic, etc.)
Every time you ask chatGPT a question, you are asking not "Do pandas eat waffles?" but "Do you think (probably an) American would think that pandas eat waffles? (respond as if you were a very robotic American)"
In this article, OpenAI says "We use broad and diverse data to build the best AI for everyone."
In this article, they say "51.3% pages are hosted in the United States. The countries with the estimated 2nd, 3rd, 4th largest English speaking populations—India, Pakistan, Nigeria, and The Philippines—have only 3.4%, 0.06%, 0.03%, 0.1% the URLs of the United States, despite having many tens of millions of English speakers." ...and that training data makes up 60% of chatGPT's data.
Something called "WebText2", aka Everything on Reddit with More Than 3 Upvotes, was also scraped for ChatGPT. On a totally unrelated note, I really wonder why AI is so racist, ableist, homophobic, and transphobic.
According to the article, this data is the most heavily weighted for ChatGPT.
"Books1" and "Books2" are stolen books scraped for AI. Apparently, there is practically nothing written down about what they are. I wonder why. It's almost as if they're avoiding the law.
It's also specifically trained on English Wikipedia.
So broad and diverse.
"ChatGPT doesn’t know much about Norwegian culture. Or rather, whatever it knows about Norwegian culture is presumably mostly learned from English language sources. It translates that into Norwegian on the fly."
hm.
Anyway, about the temperature and likeableness that we mentioned in the beginning!! if you already know this feel free to skip lolz
Temperature:
"Temperature" is basically how likely, or how unlikely something is to say. If the temperature is low, the AI will say whatever the most expected word to be next after ___ is, as long as it makes sense.
If the temperature is high, it might say something unexpected.
For example, if an AI with a temperature of 1 and a temperature of, maybe 7 idk, was told to add to the sentence that starts with "The lazy fox..." they might answer with this.
1:
The lazy fox jumps over the...
7:
The lazy fox spontaneously danced.
The AI with a temperature of 1 would give what it expects, in its data "fox" and "jumps" are close together / related (because of the common sentence "The quick fox jumps over the lazy dog."), and "jumps" and "over" are close as well.
The AI with a temperature 7 gives something much more random. "Fox" and "spontaneously" are probably very far apart. "Spontaneously" and "danced"? Probably closer.
Likeableness:
AI wants all prompts to be likeable. This works in two ways, it must 1. be correct and 2. fit the guidelines the AI follows.
For example, an AI that tried to say "The bloody sword stabbed a frail child." would get flagged being violent. (bloody, stabbed)
An AI that tried to say "Flower butterfly petal bakery." would get flagged for being incorrect.
An AI that said "blood sword knife attack murder violence." would get flagged for both.
An AI's sentence gets approved when it is likeable + positive, and when it is grammatical/makes sense.
Sometimes, it being likeable doesn't matter as much. Instead of it being the AI's job, it usually will filter out messages that are inappropriate.
Unless they put "gay" and "evil" as inappropriate, AI can still be extremely homophobic. I'm pretty sure based on whether it's likeable is usually the individual words, and not the meaning of the sentence.
When AI is trained, it is given a bunch of data and then given prompts to fill, which are marked good or bad.
"The horse shit was stinky."
"The horse had a beautiful mane."
...
...
...
Notice how none of this is "accuracy"? The only knowledge that AI like ChatGPT retains from scraping everything is how we speak, not what we know. You could ask AI who the 51st President of America "was" and it might say George Washington.
Google AI scrapes the web results given for what you searched and summarizes it, which is almost always inaccurate.

soooo accurate. (it's not) (it's in 333 days, 14 hours)

Stardust Crusaders Liveblog: JJBA ch. 174-182

Let's get back on track.
By now, the Stardust Crusaders have made it to the Arabian coast of the Red Sea. Joseph got a boat for them to make the crossing, except he diverts to an island for a secret rendezvous. Turns out the only guy on the island is Mohammed Avdol's dad. Trouble is, he's in no mood to speak to visitors, and he seems really agitated.
This his Polnareff especially hard, since he blames himself for Avdol's death in India. Avdol's dad must be told the bad news, and Polnareff considers it his responsibility. But before he tells him, he sort of wanders off by himself to do some soul-searching or something.

Pol then discovers an oil lamp on the beach and when he rubs off the barnacles, a Stand pops out and offers him three wishes. To his credit, Polnareff immediately recognizes this thing as a Stand and attacks it.
I mean, we're pretty deep into Part 3 now, and literally every single supernatural thing that's happened in this story has been caused by a Stand, so I'm glad that this Stand, Judgment, isn't fooling anyone. Just look at it. It has green headlights for eyes. It has tubes and robot arms and everything about it screams "Stand". Death Thirteen looked more like a genie than Judgement does. Polnareff is easily the most gullible of the good guy team, but even he isn't dumb enough to buy this thing as a storybook genie.

However, Judgement is a little too strong for Silver Chariot, and it refuses to give up the genie shtick. So even though Polnareff knows it's the enemy, he can't resist playing along, and he wishes for riches just to test Judgement's power. Soon enough, he discovers a big treasure chest half buried on the island.
And that's what draws Polnareff into the con. After all, no one knew they were coming to this island, right? And when would Judgement have gotten this treasure? He would have had to set it up on the island before Polnareff got here, and he didn't even know Pol was going to wish for it.
It's clever writing, because Polnareff knows better than to fall for this scam, but his heart longs for a scenario like this, no matter how little sense it makes. Pol wishes he could make a wish, so when Judgement comes along and actually grants one, he can't help but lower his guard.
Polnareff thinks about this for a while, then decides that what he really wants most of all is for his sister Sherry and Avdol to be resurrected. Judgement agrees, and grants the second wish first. Pol discovers Sherry in the tall grass of the island, and for some reason she's nude, and she's uncomfortable about being seen this way, because her body "isn't finished yet". Polnareff insists that he loves her no matter what, and he would do anything for her...

And so Sherry starts biting him, saying that she needs to consume his flesh in order to complete he resurrection.
Polnareff is horrified, and begs Judgment to undo the second wish, but Judgement refuses. He already made his third wish, and it was to revive Avdol, remember? So now a creepy Avdol zombie shows up and they both start gnawing on Polnareff. For some reason, the Avdol zombie is wearing clothes.

Emotionally drained, Polnareff basically resigns himself to death, and he thinks that he hallucinates a second Avdol sneaking up behind the first. But then the second Avdol gravs the zombie and saves his ass. Huh?
If that's not enough, this second Avdol blasts the zombie Avdol with Magician's Red. Polnareff is dumbfounded. Could this be the real Avdol, back from the grave?

Fuck yeah! Avdol's back, and he's ready to party!

But how? Hol Horse shot him in the head! And J. Geil stabbed him in the back! At the same time! Turns out, that's actually the reason he survived. As Avdol got stabbed, he threw his head back, just as the bullet reached him. So instead of going through his brain, it grazed across his forehead, scratching his skull. It knocked him out, and left a nasty scar, but it didn't kill him.

So from here, Avdol just demolishes Judgment. Judgment tries to do the same three wishes routine with Avdol, because I guess that's how its ability works, but Avdol refuses to play along, demanding four wishes. And if Judgment won't grant that wish for four wishes, then Avdol will simply take them for himself.

Wishes 1 through 3 are for Judgement to get wrecked, son. Magician's Red chokes Judgment out with a flaming rope, and that's pretty sweet. Judgment finally disappears, and Polnareff is upset that it escaped. But Avdol's not giving up that easily. The user must be nearby...

Turns out the guy is hiding in the ground, using a reed to breathe. That makes sense, because Judgment's powers seem to be earth-based in nature. He made the treasure and the zombie Sherry and Avdol from the dirt. It's not hard to imagine Judgment digging a comfy hole for the user and then covering him up again.
Polnareff decides to get some revenge by putting bugs and other crap into the reed to fuck with this guy, but Avdol has... a better idea.

Yeah, they piss in the reed and Avdol howls with laughter. Polnareff questions if Avdol's injuries might have affected his personality. He's got a point.

Needless to say, the user finally emerges and pleads for mercy, and Avdol makes his fourth wish, not to tolerate any more of this guy's crap. He singes him with Magician's Red, and the fight's over.

Polnareff is all excited to tell the others that Avdol is alive, but it turns out they already knew. Joseph said he and Jotaro buried Avdol in India, but in fact they got him to a hospital and lied about it.
Kakyoin was told later on, but he kept the secret because Polnareff has a big mouth and they didn't want him giving it away. See, not only did this allow Avdol to recover in peace, but he could also travel separately and purchase something for them to use for the Red Sea crossing. And since Dio's powers only let him spy on Joseph and Jotaro, the bad guys had no idea.
What about Avdol's dad? Did he know Avdol was alive this whole time? No, that was Avdol disguised as his own father. No one explains what happened to his actual dad, though.

So what did Avdol buy anyway? Well, it's this big-ass submarine. This way, the gang can cross the Red Sea underwater, and the enemy won't be able to find them or attack them. Wait, that doesn't make any sense.
I mean, they've been doing this the whole trip. They started with a commercial plane, and Tower of Grey infiltrated it and crashed it. Then they took a boat and Dark Blue Moon infiltrated it and scuttled it. Then they tried using a Cessna plane to cross the Arabian Penninsula, and Death Thirteen infiltrated it and crashed it.
I mean, why would they expect the submarine to be any different? Avdol purchased it in secret, but the enemy already tracked them down to their island rendezvous. So the whole plan is kind of screwed. They'd be better off using the boat they were in before. At least if they get attacked on the water's surface, they have a chance of swimming to safety. If the sub gets attacked, the risk is much greater.

On the other hand, everyone is super-duper excited to play submarine. Joseph and Avdol are both like "I can drive the submarine!" like they're little kids. Avdol uses the periscope to sight the Egyptian coastline and he's so thrilled to be so close to his homeland. I've missed Avdol a lot.

Then they get all solemn and do the meme, except for Egypt instead of Friday.

Also, the deep cut meme with the Kakyoin and Avdol part.
They drink a toast over coffee, except there's six cups on the table, and Kakyoin only made five. Turns out it's a... you guessed it... Enemy Stand.

Avdol concludes that the enemy must be Midler, who has the Stand known as High Priestess. He also explains that the Stand can turn into anything made out of metal, glass, plastic, or minerals. That's how it disguised itself as a coffee cup, and it waited until the right moment to suddenly jump out and attack them.
Okay, but why is Avdol waiting until now to explain all of this? Why didn't he say something before they boarded the sub? At this point, High Priestess is one of the only Tarot cards unaccounted for, and he seems to know more about this one than any of the others. He could have told everyone "Hey, we're bound to run into the High Priestess sooner or later, so let me fill you in on what she can do."

Long story short, High Priestess can disguise itself as anything on the submarine, which means it can sabotage the sub with ease. Jotaro almost catches it, but it turns into razor blades to escape. So the gang have to abandon ship and scuba dive the rest of the way. You know, I'm not sure if this is practical, but maybe they would have been better off crossing the Red Sea this way. Just dive underwater and swim all the way to the other shore. If an enemy attacks, they'd be surrounded by open water in every direction. At least it'd be harder to sneak up on them.

When Joseph Joestar is telling you to stop fucking around, you know your fucking around has gotten way out of hand.

They spent a lot of time talking about what hand signals to use in the water, but then they remember that they can just talk to each other with their Stands, like Jotaro and Dark Blue Moon did earlier in the story. But then they use the hand signals anyway, and yeah, this whole submarine adventure is just dumb as hell.

High Priestess manages to get inside Polnareff's mouth, and Joseph and Kakyoin have to pull it out with their own Stands. I feel like High Priestess could fuck up Pol's insides pretty quickly if it wanted to, but whatever.

At last, the gang finally reach what they think is the Egyptian shore. There's a pair of "sea tunnels", but not so fast...

Turns out this is a trap laid by High Priestess. Midler's been controlling her Stand from the Egyptian coast this whole time. Before, High Priestess was much weaker because of the distance involved, but now, they're only seven meters or so away, and Midler can bring her full power to bear. High Priestess forms a huge face out of the seafloor, and gobbles up the good guys in her mouth.

Midler briefly mentions liking Jotaro's whole deal, and the others convince him to try to use that against her, but she doesn't fall for it, and tries to crush Jotaro in her enormous teeth.

And this is a huge mistake, because Star Platinum just smashes through all of the teeth and powers right out of the High Priestess' mouth. It's kind of a reversal of the situation on the submarine. There, High Priestess was small and could attack in any direction to fuck up the good guys. Now, Star Platinum can cut loose and there's nothing High Priestess can do to contain it.

At last the boys reach the coast, and Polnareff checks out Midler's unconscious body to see what she looks like. Turns out all her teeth are broken, as the damage done to her Stand was reflected back upon her. So they just... leave her for dead, I guess?
At one time, I found it kind of ironic how we didn't even get to see the Stand User this time, except I've noticed that's kind of a recurring theme in this Part. Even when we do meet the Stand User, a lot of times they don't even get named, or they're barely in the story long enough to matter. Midler got about as much time on-panel as the guy with the Judgement Stand, for example. And at least we know her name.
For what it's worth, here's what MIdler actually looks like with her teeth in tact. They were making one of the video games and Capcom wanted to put Midler in it, except no one knew what she looked like, so Araki came up with this design. I'm pretty sure she's half-naked because Capcom asked for that, but what do I know?
Anyway, we're finally in Egypt. Breathe in that sweet, sweet Egyptian air. We made it, everybody.

The Lead Theory AU
Basically this au stems from a fun little theory I made that lead isn't just a reoccurring character in dystopia, but also every single incredibox version. As I thought more about this au, I thought of fun little ways to make the version more personal to lead instead of just being their own things.
The story of the au is that lead is, of course, a robot, and he was built to be as close to a human as possible. Each version represents him learning more and more about humans and their world, being able to travel to different times, places, and even universes.
What I have so far:
Alpha - just where he was built in France in the 2000s. Nothing much to learn besides basic human stuff like necessities, language, and the human body.
Little miss - very mixed bag. Little miss, taking place in Italy in the mid 1970s, is simply about learning human love, lust, and overall just deeper human connection, while also learning about the violence humans experience and project onto others or themselves.
Sunrise - unlike the others, sunrise doesn't take place in an area or exact time frame, rather the paper drawings of a child. Sunrise is where lead learns about human children and their childhoods, what they like and dislike, etc.
The love - Australia in the early 2010s, the love is a more friendly and wholesome version of what's to learn in little miss, showing the friendlier and more wholesome sides of love and empathy with no harm.
Brazil - simple: human events and overall nature, Brazil takes place in..well.. Brazil in the early 2000s. Not much to say
Alive - in the 2060s of Japan, lead learns more about the technology that built him and how it entertains and helps others in their day to day lives.
Jeevan - lead learns more about different cultures in India of an unknown time. Not much to put here for now
Dystopia - learning about the harms of technology in the way future, lead *tries* to sacrafice himself to destroy it once and for all, feeling as though he had learned enough.
Wekiddy - lead fails to sacrifice himself, only accidentally sending himself back in time to New York in the 1990s. Since he finds that his ability to travel has failed, he finds himself needing to warn everyone about what will happen in the future, but nobody seems to listen to him. While doing so, he learns about human entertainment and pop culture.
Feel free to ask about this au!!

Solfeggio is Italian for solfege derive from the names of two of the syllables used: sol and fa.
The generic term "solmization", referring to any system of denoting pitches of a musical scale by syllables, including those used in India and Japan as well as solfège, comes from French solmisation, from the Latin solfège syllables sol and mi.
The verb "to sol-fa" means to sing the solfège syllables of a passage (as opposed to singing the lyrics, humming, etc).
(I took it from wikipedia)
Trivia:
After Sigma becomes Maverick from Mega Man X2 to Mega Man X4 he becomes the new commander of the Maverick Hunters.
He and Zero don't know they are brothers.
He is a fusion of Ra-Thor and Alpha (the first reploid) from the novel Rockman X the Irregular Report

Hello, hello, do you miss me? :')
I know I do. I uninstalled Tumblr before my exams, and it's not on the Play Store anymore. PLUS I'm really busy with my project. Wanna know the pains I am going through? They gave us our topics FIFTEEN DAYS before final exams. Then, just as finals were over, they asked for our first draft. DO YOU THINK WE WOULD'VE DONE IT BY NOW?? NO! WE WERE PREPARING FOR OUR EXAMS! You'd think it would be obvious that we'll need more time, BUT APPARENTLY IT'S NOT because my college thinks we're robots. I don't even understand why they're making us do all of this for our BACHELOR'S degree. We could've easily just done a cute little project and been done with it, but no! We have to write a mini thesis, AND we'll have an external examiner asking us questions about it. I swear to god I will resort to arson.
That being said, I MISS BEING HERE. WHAT THE HELL??!
HI OMG YES OFC I MISS YOU!
yeah it's sad that india banned tumblr bro like not even on the play store? mad. it sometimes gets blocked here too but like in specific regions and you use a vpn then it's fine.
anyways your uni sucks big time (which uni doesn't) and idk why teachers think we can magically do multiple tasks at once like wdym we're not kids anymore ;-; wdym we're robots
i evaded this bachelor's mess bc of covid and being stuck at home, i'm pretty sure they would have made us do a mini thesis too, but they let us go with a couple of articles. i support the arson tho it's long time coming lmao
WELL. tumblr is still kind of the same! i hope you come back soon hehe your presence is missed, your jokes are missed.

March 2024 Important Dates
AKA my notes on The Astrology Podcast's March Forecast.
February recap: The conjunction between Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Pluto in Aquarius conjunction has aligned with new tech developments. The Venus-Pluto conjunction heralded OpenAI's new text-to-video generator and the ensuing discussion on its potential political, labor, and artistic effects. Mercury was conjunct Mars and Venus trine Jupiter (with Virgo Moon completing a grand trine & involving the Saturn-Pisces opposition) the day Neuralink tried its first human subject. How will different parts of society react to further developments in cybernetics and body augmentation? Past occurrences of astrological alignments can help us make predictions. Advances in robotics during a major transit in the humanistic sign of Aquarius will challenge us to redefine what it means to be human. On February 10th, around the Mars-Pluto conjunction, a group of people set a self-driving delivery car on fire in San Francisco. These robo-taxis are likely going to increase when Jupiter enters Gemini, and indeed a few companies are poised to launch in other cities.
In other Pluto in Aquarius news, last episode Chris noted there's work in using X-rays to ancient scrolls from Herculaneum and Pompeii that can't be opened without incurring damage. On February 5th, the day of the Mercury-Pluto conjunction, the first images of one of these scrolls have been made available. This fits with Mercury-Pluto themes of lost or buried information coming to light. On the same day King Charles of England's cancer diagnosis was announced--an announcement of mortality. We also had the first privately-funded lunar vehicle landing. Pluto makes large thing imperceptibly small and makes microscopic things enormous.
In Saturn in Pisces news, in 2020 Chris predicted success for Miley Cyrus's Saturn return and indeed she won the Grammy. This also marks part 2 of the Dune movie--the book was written under Saturn in Pisces as well. Other influential sci-fi & fantasy stories were written under Saturn in Pisces like Lord of the Rings, and our hosts predict that a new classic will be born during this transit. In other Mars-Pluto news, we have ambiguous stories about nuclear weapons and Israel's announcement of storming Rafah. Unfortunately the upcoming eclipses (connected to 6 months ago) do not bode well for cessation of warfare. On February 15th, farmers in India have begun striking again, and doctors in South Korea walked out on the job to protest working conditions--Mars in Aquarius squaring Jupiter-Uranus in Taurus reactivates these ongoing labor disputes.
Our hosts recorded the forecast before the perfect Mercury-Saturn-Sun conjunction in Pisces hit on February 28th (the day I'm typing this!), which is one of the major influences over the first half of March. The other big influence is Mars-Venus in Aquarius. In the mutable, indeterminate sign of Pisces, Saturn doesn't bring us as much order as he did in the previous two signs of his domicile.
March 2nd/3rd - Venus square Uranus Venus in Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus--either a change is needed to bring us peace and pleasure, or something is disrupting our pleasure. Austin says either way, this placement prompts us for significant changes. Venus's is overcoming Uranus (earlier in the zodiac, has the upper hand), so we can make good use of this placement if we shake things up a little bit in relationships.
March 9th/10th - Mars square Uranus, Mercury enters Aries Mercury has entered the sign where he'll retrograde, stretching what would normally be a transit of a few weeks into 2 months. Mercury in Mars's sign amplifies the wishes of the red planet, who's doing some pretty interesting stuff. In a firey Mars-ruled sign, Mercury wants something practical to do. This clarity and decisiveness will be welcome after all the indecision of Pisces. However, the North Node is in Aries, with the power to obscure things even when it's not blocking the Sun's light. There will be an eclipse here in April, so the pathfinding is tricky. We'll definitely be doubling back as Mercury prepares to retrograde. Sometimes you need to dive into things while you have the vision, yet before you have the rationale. Austin likens it to clearing your way through thick jungle terrain to determine whether a route is viable--it's only by going forward that you find out that you're on the wrong path, and thus, where the right one is. Mercury retrogrades teach us to learn from our mistakes--third time's the charm!
Mars follows Venus's path, and along with Mercury, weighs heavily on the upcoming lunation. Mars-Uranus connotes surprise attacks, sudden severing, unexpected explosions. Internally this can make us feel restless and impulsive. Keywords: recklessness and action without planning. Think of a cigarette being dropped near an oil drum. Technology disruptions are also likely.
March 10th - Pisces New Moon
Saturn and Neptune are close by to this lunation, and though Mars-Uranus is weighing in, Mars in particular is ultimately reporting to Saturn's broader plan. As Neptune and Saturn approach their conjunction, we'll seek escapism and the imaginal as a respite for our fatigue. We need to step out from being immersed in these waters. Mercury conjoined Neptune on the 8th before he left Pisces, leaving the imprint of confused or empathic communications in the air as the lunar cycle resets for the month.
March 11th/12th - Venus enters Pisces From here she builds up to a conjunction with Saturn at 11° on the 21st. As the sign of her exaltation, she's better able to bring harmony and reconciliation in our relationships, though Saturn brings a cool distance to our relationships. She'll conjoin Neptune in this sign next month. We may also see some kind of artwork that resonates with people on a deep emotional level.
March 17th - Sun conjoins Neptune, Electional chart
At around 1PM local time, this chart has Cancer rising with a dignified Moon in Cancer, applying to a trine with Venus at 7Pisces and sextile with Jupiter in Taurus in the 11th house. This chart occurs before things go crazy later in the month and is the best time to start something new. It's especially good for friends, groups and alliances and doing new things outside of the box.
March 18th - Mercury enters shadow (not pictured) Mercury hits 15Aries, the point he'll retrograde back to, at the same time as he conjoins the North Node. This is a precursor of things that will occur in April.
March 19th/20th - Sun enters Aries This puts the Sun in the same time as the Node that will eclipse it.
March 21st - Venus conjoins Saturn Saturn and Venus bring a sort of melancholy beauty to things. Though we may see them at odds for signifying discipline and love respectively, Saturn does exalt in Venus's sign of Libra. In the sign of Pisces empathy is especially relevant--think understanding each other's feelings because we've suffered the same things. Nostalgia is another important keyword.
March 22nd - Mars enters Pisces This puts him on track to contact to Saturn (exact cojunction c. April 10th)--a dangerous combination. Along with the Sun in Aries and Mercury slowing, this represents the event horizon of major developments for the rest of the month and early April. This will be the first Mars-Saturn conjunction in Pisces; note the Aquarius conjunctions in 2020 and later years coincided with the COVID lockdown(s). Sea lane transit will likely slam on the brakes as well, and current maritime conflicts will see big developments. More figuratively we may ask "where are we going, and what dangers lie ahead?"
March 25th - Libra Lunar Eclipse
For about a week things have been building up to this eclipse. Its twin will be visible across much of the United States in early April, meanwhile a comet will start to be visible in the night sky. Mars in Pisces copresent Saturn weighs heavily on this eclipse. The pace of events starts moving quickly and chaotically around eclipse season, and things start to move rapidly up or down, especially for prominent people & companies. This eclipse represents a culmination or next chapter of events started in October--major beginnings and major endings (in the Libra house of your chart for individuals). The picture may begin to get clearer. It's not the last installment, but things are clearly underway. Unfortunately this does not bode well for ongoing global conflicts. We can't see clearly with the eclipse, meanwhile Mercury is slowing down about to station retrograde, while right on the North Node. Combined with dangerous Mars-Saturn, it's a bit of a crazy situation. Jupiter's approach to a conjunction with Uranus indicates some surprising, amazing wins, and some people will find unexpected good fortune once the smoke clears. However, not everyone will be able to count on winning the Jupiter lottery here. (Later in April, when Jupiter conjoins Uranus exactly we can expect some kind of freedom and liberation).
The two weeks between these eclipses will be very active, dramatic, and chaotic, with beginnings and endings galore. In the Indian astrology dasha timing technique, the US Sibly chart has been in a time period ruled by Rahu (north node) since the early 2010s, making any eclipses visible in that country especially important to it. This is a time to be flexible!
