How Managed Colocation Services Can Save You Time and Money
With the ever-changing fast pace of technology, businesses need to change how they increase operational efficiencies, scalability, and security. Managed colocation is one such evolving choice in which cost efficiency and sturdy performance are gained from a business point of view which is a perfect balance between control and support.
Let us help you understand how to manage colocation services while choosing your provider.
The key difference between traditional and managed colocation services is that in traditional colocation, the customer or client is responsible for managing and maintaining their servers and infrastructure, whereas managed colocation services themselves manage and maintain the infrastructure and also troubleshoot the issues to expand the business.
In this case, the provider only offers space, power, and connectivity facilities where IT equipment can be hosted. Indeed, a customer is responsible for managing his equipment in matters like installing, maintaining, and repairing servers and other hardware.
Managed colocation providers will take more responsibility for the IT infrastructure: it may include services such as installing and configuring servers, maintaining hardware, and updating software. Besides the above, services are also available from colocation providers through monitoring for security and disaster recovery efforts and round-the-clock technical support.
Key Benefits of Managed Colocation Services
1. Improved Efficiency
Harnessing managed colocation services will automatically lead to more business efficiency. As an example, the worldwide data center colocation market is one of the fastest-growing markets in computing. In 2017, this market was valued at 31.5 billion US dollars; by 2022, it had grown to 62.3 billion US dollars, marked with a CAGR of 14.6%. Now, people want IT solutions that will not hold them back from growing as they scale the heights of efficiency. The data center provider takes care of hardware management by maintaining peak performance and efficiently addressing any issues that may arise. It also alleviates the pressure on internal IT personnel and enables them to focus on strategic projects instead of routine maintenance duties
2. Scalability
Flexible IT infrastructure at any time according to the business needs is the best feature in Managed colocation. Provider offers services from basic server hosting to fully managed IT services that companies can scale as needed. This helps the customer to use the facilities without capital investments in building out their own data center, resulting in maximum flexibility and savings. Uptime Institute conducted a poll and found out that close to 40% of the data centers want to expand their capacity in the coming year. This flexibility serves well for businesses with predicted growth or with fluctuating workloads.
3. Cost-Effective
Managing colocation saves cost – one of the most significant advantages of managed colocation is that it helps businesses save a vast amount of capital and operational costs by sharing infrastructure and operational costs with its tenants in the data center. International Data Corporation (IDC): data by IDC represents that the use of managed colocation can save up to 25–30% of the money that is spent on Operational costs.
4. Better Security and Compliance
Businesses are concerned with ensuring that their data is safe enough to protect. Managed colocation helps to mitigate the risk of data breaches and cyber threats which offers robust security measures, including network security, physical security, and processes. Managed services are expected to be taking care of 60% of businesses critical IT infrastructure by 2025 due to security issues. Besides, many vendors also work under regulations and industry standards, providing a sense of compliance to enterprises.
5. Reliability and Uptime
Data center operators provide high uptime and reliability to advanced disaster recovery and redundancy provided by the data center operators for managed colocation services. The Uptime Institute 2021 Annual Data Center Survey found that businesses lose more than $260,000 on average for every hour that their data center is down.
Why Choose Managed Colocation Services?
Businesses desiring to derive the most benefits from their IT infrastructure without being bothered to manage it themselves can consider managed colocation services. The following are some reasons why most firms are using managed colocation:
Expertise
Businesses desiring to derive the most from their IT infrastructure without being bothered to manage it themselves can consider managed colocation services. The following are some reasons why most companies are using managed colocation.
Focus on Core Business
By outsourcing IT infrastructure services, it helps companies to free up with their core capabilities and strategic objectives thus reducing from the technical burden of managing the business. This focus helps companies streamline their operations and enhance production. With all this, at the end of the day, outsourcing IT infrastructure services results in cost savings and improved performance. Companies that embrace this new model can be better placed to keep up with the speed at which changes are taking place in the business world.
Access to Advanced Technology
Infrastructure investment in advanced technology not only enhances the organizational output but also improves efficiency.
Disaster Recovery
Managed colocation services come with comprehensive and robust disaster recovery solutions that allow businesses to recover quickly from an unexpected event and resume work.
ESDS Managed Colocation Services
ESDS data centers are outfitted with cutting-edge security features, such as biometric access, monitoring systems, and modern fire suppression equipment. Companies may use ESDS colocation solutions to protect their vital data assets if they have a robust digital security policy in place and are physically secure.
Conclusion
While the needs of a colocation provider may appear to be necessary: access to high-quality data center space power carrier diversity and high availability bandwidth with redundant networks; and more predictable costs, working with a dependable provider that offers higher levels of availability and makes continuous investments in its infrastructure will result in significant cost savings.
Working with a dependable supplier who provides better availability levels and makes ongoing infrastructure improvements will result in significant cost savings.

The Molar Horse, they're similar to IRL horses but alot bigger and with a bulkier neck... beside the obvious frontal tusks used for defense against predators and in intraspecific competition.
Due to their aggressive and fearless nature aswell as gigantic size theyre an excellent war mount, even if their domestication isnt for the weak.
when their lips are relaxed they cover all the teeth, this is to protect their integrity and also to avoid infections, this tissue is hardy but flexible enough to be pulled all the way back to show the hidden upward incisives and the rest of the teeth, baring their teeth can be out of distress or as a threat.
(the silly)
In a previous ask I explained how these animals can eat, in short I didn't want to add some type of trunk nor modify the appearance of the tusks especially the big frontal one so the easiest option to go is to have a large tounge strong enough to help it eat in a similar fashion to a giraffe.
But I was thinking that in my setting the general landescape is very desertic and there aren't many trees around, this opens an issue since the tounge was based on a giraffe tounge which is made to grab tree branches and pull the leaves into their mouths, so maybe these tounges could have spiky cavities similar to a feline tounge but much more exaggerated, this to be able to have a stronger hold on the dry grass and other types of dry food that probably would be on the ground.
TW: (fictional) Animal abuse
In my story there are many important factions and in general they aren't benevolent specially since the war is a common occassion and each one have to do what it needs to success and maintain territory and resources, this faction, the Altan Empire (which hopefully i will show more of them in a future) is one of the few important nations that have managed to domesticate the dangerous Molar Horses, but to conceive this they had to do some evil shit
The lips of a molar horse are a very sensitive part of their body, these have many nerve conections to be able to move them and show different types of expressions, emotions and give indications to other Molar horses.
The removal of these lips greatly vaffects their behavior, making them docier and easier to handle aswell as opening a entrance to put the mouthpiece and colocate the bridle without having problems with the vast tissue, this is called marking.
A marked molar horse is alot less unstable than its wild counterpart, making them an excellent mount to be used in the loud and unpredictable battles between factions, it also improves their intimidation factor
But beside their obvious degradation in appearance, these animals become incapable of communicating normally with other molar horses.
Another problem are the infections, is common to see marked molar horses with infected pimples, scars or without some back teeth that fell off or had to be removed.
on the bright side, in recent times and due to the domestication of the marked molar horses, meaning that newborns are more docile withouth having to mark them aswell as improvements in the design of the bridle, said newborns are commonly left with their intact lips.
#wohoo finally threw up enourmous amount of info that has been locked up in my obsidian vault for ages#also this design isn't final yet- i gotta make the neck a bit longer cuz now that i'm seeing it right it seems a bit short#my art#wgd#fucked up unicorn#creature design#dark fantasy#worldbuilding#equine#speculative zoology#to some extent#art#digital art#oc art#drawing

Rhysand's shield on Feyre is ridiculous ✨
I noticed that Rhysand and Feyre's excuse about the shield around her being unbreakable and that she wasn't able to break it is ridiculous. Feyre destroyed all the protections of the King of Hybern's castle with light alone (and before that we only saw her glowing while having an orgasm). But it's obvious that SJM's horrifying script didn't remember that 🙄.
Like, on page two hundred and something we discover the reason for the shield (Nyx), but until then NO ONE mentions that Feyre not being able to break a shield made by a high lord is strange? Helion taught it, but it was Rhysand who put it up (which doesn't interfere with my point, they're both high lords). Shouldn't the fact that they thought she really couldn't break the shield also have made them realize that they'd lost the advantage they had over the other courts?
Because Feyre is weak, she can't cross from the summer border to the middle without running out of magic, and compared to Lucien, he managed to leave the spring court, go to Illyria and come back with two sentries, and was ready to return with Feyre! Her amount of magic is ✨ insignificant ✨ for a high Feyrean. Helion described it as a mere fish scale, so small that he didn't care.
What makes it dangerous is that it can get past their protections, the high lords! As she did with Tarquin. Apart from that, Feyre doesn't scare anyone. That attack on Beron? Surprise. If she tries it again, we'll see what a high lord chosen by magic is made of.
Anyway, didn't IC notice that Feyre NOT BEING ABLE TO BREAK THE SHIELD means she couldn't steal from Helion, for example? He could very well put those shields on everything precious in his court 👀.
What I mean is that we readers know that she wasn't trying to break the shield. That's a fact. BUT DIDN'T THEY KNOW AND NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT HER MAGIC BEING IMMUNE TO THAT OF THE OTHER HIGH LORDS? IT'S AS IF SHE WERE THEM, BECAUSE SHE HAS THEIR ESSENCE, SO HELION'S MAGIC SHOULD ALLOW HER TO REMOVE THAT SHIELD WHENEVER SHE WANTS! Unless, of course, that essence she has from the high lords has a limit, but that wasn't worked out in ACOTAR. SJM wants me to believe that she's awesome, but she's incapable of crossing half of Prythian, so it's clear that she's one of the weakest characters in that saga. Having versatility doesn't give you raw power.
Aquele ataque a Beron? Surpresa.

every once in a while i like to poke my head into "anti [x]" tags just to see what the other side thinks. recently i was looking through "anti ao3" and found a really funny post claiming that ao3 is not anticapitalist, but actually the Definition Of Capitalism, bc it relies on volunteer labor while supposedly having the money to pay a staff.
oh, honey.
but i am not going to make unsubstantiated claims on the internet, no, and this gives me an excuse to look at ao3's whole budget myself, which i've been meaning to do for a while. these numbers are taken from the 2022 budget post and budget spreadsheet.
ao3's total income for 2022, from the two donation drives, regular donations, donation matching programs, interest, and royalties was $1,012,543.42. less than $300 of that was from interest and royalties, so it's almost all donations. and that's a lot, right? surely an organization making a million dollars a year can afford to pay some staff, right?
well, let's look at expenses. first of all, they lose almost $37,000 to transaction fees right away. ao3 and fanlore (~$341k and ~$18k, respectively) take up the biggest chunks of the budget by far. that money pays for, to quote the 2022 budget post, "server expenses—both new purchases and ongoing colocation and maintenance—website performance monitoring tools, and various systems-related licenses."
in some years, otw also pays external contractors to perform audits for security issues, and for more servers to handle the growing userbase. servers are expensive as hell, guys. in 2022, new server costs alone were $203k.
each of their other programs only cost around $3,000 or less, and otw paid around $78k for fundraising and development. wait, how do you lose so much money on your fundraising?? from the 2022 budget post: "Our fundraising and development expenses consist of transaction fees charged by our third-party payment processors for each donation, thank-you gift purchases and shipping, and the tools used to host the OTW’s membership database and track communications with donors and potential donors."
then the otw paid an additional $74k in administration expenses, which covers "hosting for our website, trademarks, domains, insurance, tax filing, and annual financial statement audits, as well as communication, management, and accounting tools."
in case you weren't following all of that math, the total expenses for 2022 come out to $518,978.48. woah! that's a lot! but it's still only a little over half of their net revenue. weird. i wonder what they do with that extra $494k?
well, $400k of it goes to the reserves, which i'll get to in a second. the last $93k, near as i can tell, gets rolled over to the next year. i'll admit this part i'm a little unsure about, as it's not clear on the spreadsheet, but that's the only thing that makes sense.
the reserves, though are clear. the most recent post i could find on the otw site about it were in the board meeting minutes from april 2, 2022: "We’re holding about $1million in operating cash that is about twice the amount of our annual operating costs. There is another $1million in reserves due to highly successful fundraisers in the past. The current plan for the reserves is to hold the money for paid staff in the future. It’s been talked about before in the past and we’re still working out the details, but it’s a rather expensive undertaking that will result in large annual expenses in addition to the initial cost of implementation."
woah....they're PLANNING to have paid staff eventually! wild!
so let's assume, for easy numbers, that the otw currently has $1.5 million in reserves. before we even get to how to use that money, let's look at the issues with implementing paid staff:
deciding which positions are going to be paid, because it can't be all of them
deciding how much to pay them, bc minimum wage sure as hell isn't enough, and cost of living is different everywhere, and volunteers come from all over the world
hiring staff and implementing new systems/tools to handle things like payroll and accounting
making sure you continue to earn enough money both to pay all of the staff and have some in reserves for emergencies or leaner donation drives
probably even more stuff than that! i don't run a nonprofit, that's just what i can think of off the top of my head.
okay, okay, okay. for the sake of argument, let's assume there is a best-case scenario where the otw starts paying some staff tomorrow. how much should they be paid? i'm picking $15 an hour, since that's what we fought for the minimum wage to be. by now, it should be closer to $20 or $25, but i'm trying to give "ao3 is capitalism" the fairest shot it can get here, okay?
ideally, if someone is being paid to help run ao3, they shouldn't need a second job. every job should pay enough to live off of. and running a nonprofit is hard work that leads to a lot of burnout--two board members JUST resigned before their terms were up. what i'm saying is, i'm going to assume a paid otw staff is getting paid for 40 hours of work a week, minimum. that's $31,200.
at $400,000 per year, the otw can afford to pay 12 people. that's WITHOUT taking into account the new systems, tools, software, etc they would have to pay for, any kind of fees, etc, etc.
oh, and btw, if you're an american you're still making barely enough to survive in most places, AND you don't have universal healthcare, vision, or dental. want otw to give people insurance, too? the number of people they can pay goes down.
it's. not. possible.
a million dollars is a lot of money on the face of it, but once you realize how MUCH goes into running something like the otw, it goes away fast.
just for reference, wikipedia also has donation drives every year. wikipedia, as of 2021, has $86.8 million in cash reserves and $137.4 million in investments. sure, wikipedia and ao3 are very different entities, but that disparity is massive. and i should note that if you give $10 to wikipedia they don't give you voting rights, i'm just saying.
by the way, you may have noticed that i didn't mention legal costs at all here. isn't one of otw's big Things about how they do legal advocacy?
yes, it is. they have a whole page about that work. and i can't for the life of me find a source on otw's website (and i'm running out of time to write this post, i'll look harder later), but i am 90% sure i learned before that most, if not all, of otw's legal work/advice/etc is done pro bono. i've also seen an anti-ao3 person claim their legal budget is only $5k or so, but they didn't have a source. but keep in mind that if they don't have a legal budget, all the numbers above stay the same, and if they do, there is even less money available for paid staff.
you can criticize ao3 and the otw all you want! there are many valid reasons to criticize them, and i do not think they're perfect either. but if you're going to do so, you should at least make sure you can back up your claims, bc otherwise you just look silly.
#ao3#otw#anti ao3#bc i want them to see this#otw board#ao3 discourse#ao3 donations#wren wrambles#that post was so unserious i died#if it was more recent (its from mid-july) i wouldve replied directly maybe#but i didnt want to drag the body of a 6-note post into the light OR attack the op directly so#also! if i misunderstood something pls let me know im doing my best

The Variable *Part 7*
Caspian Keyes X Fem!Reader
Word Count: 2553
Requested: @twilight5139
Request: part seven i beg youuuu!!!!!!!
Warning: Talk of hyper vigilance in regards to the reader, paragraph breaks in weird places because Tumblr wouldn't let me post it
*Part 6*
You had managed to get a few tickets to London. Maddie and Caspian spent a day making a new body for MIST at her request with as many functions as they could. You made sure that they both ate and took breaks where they needed to and eventually the project was finished and you were all able to make your way around London to find your next UI.
You were trying to keep attention off of yourselves but MIST still didn’t understand how to do that. Given the fact that there was a small robot seemingly moving around on its own drew attention all on it’s own. You and Maddie followed behind MIST, eyes widening as the man filming a video bumped into her “Cool robot.” He turned the camera to her and Maddie moved forward. “Sorry, new toy.” She said quickly as you latched onto the end of the lie. “Hey I know you're excited but be careful kid, we’re visiting remember.” You smiled as you gestured for her to come back over to you, the man shrugged and started walking away as Caspian stepped up behind you. “Good save.” His head was low shielding his face from any cameras, you squeezed his hand in silent acknowledgement. “You have to be careful.” Maddie crouched to talk to MIST who made a face of disapproval. “He bumped into me.” She argued, you smiled softly “maybe if you didn’t use a rice cooker for this body-” “You were the one that wanted to experience the physical world.” Maddie shot back, cutting her off as she fiddled with things. “I can upgrade you later. How are the legs working?” “I can sense the dents and cracks in the pavement, it’s really wonderful. Thanks Maddie.” Caspian led you forward, eyes on his phone as you walked behind a protesting crowd and a CCTV camera. You stumbled slightly as you tried to keep up, hissing as pain traveled through your shoulder. “Sorry.” Caspian stabilised you as Maddie caught up with you. “Caspian slow down. Maddie had just caught up with you as you got to the crossing. “Do you think he’s slowing down?” Caspian asked. “Who?” Maddie asked. “All these people partying ‘cause the world’s back online. They have no idea that he’s out there or what he’s gonna do.” You had known Caspian long enough to know who he was talking about but you were sure that Maddie got once he finished the sentence. “What is Stephen Holstrom’s UI going to do?” MIST asked, a valid question and not one that you had an answer to. “Won’t Safe Surf slow him down? It’s an anti UI countermeasure.” Maddie suggested. “Yeah that’s what worries me.” Caspian answered. “Oh. So, you know that he’s going to do because you're his clone?” MIST asked, Caspian didn’t give her an answer instead looked down at his phone.
“MIST don’t call him that, he’s Caspian not Stephen. They share genes nothing more” You tried to keep your tone light, you didn’t want her to think that you were angry with her but you wanted to prevent any more uncomfortable conversation like this. “Studies of behavioural genetics suggest--” “They don’t.” Maddie argued as Caspian pulled you with him “they don’t.” You all walked in silence for a little while before Caspian spoke again. “Look I don’t share his vision for the future, but we know what it is. Humanity uploaded, the natural world heals itself. The problem is humanity heard the word upload and said no. He doesn’t like that word and I don’t know what he’s going to do MIST but I’m afraid of it.” “So to oppose him, you have to help find and create a stronger UI which is in line with his goal of humanity uploaded.” MIST listed the last part of the plan. “Just ignore her.” Maddie said after a sigh and changed the subject. “This is it? The colocation?” “It’s a boutique. Security cams were all busted up during the offline riots. I’ll grab the key.” He said letting go of your hand and walking towards the building, your eyes cast down the road making sure that there was no one watching or following your groups. “I saw this phrase on some of the signs in the crowd. What does it mean?” MIST asked, you looked over at the two before glancing at the wall where someone had painted ‘die now, live forever’ on the wall. “It means not everyone is saying no to Holstorm’s future.” Maddie answered.
You had all finally made it somewhere relatively safe for the moment, Maddie was watching Olivia Evans' speech again. Olivia was the next candidate for the UI god, someone who seemed to have all the qualities that you were looking for. “Got it! Wait, are you watching that again?” Caspian asked as he got closer. “Just making sure that we didn’t miss anything.” Maddie answered. “We didn’t.” Caspian assured her. “How do you know?” She turned to face him . “We’ve been over this Oliva Evans was dedicated to preventing human-UI conflict before anyone was even uploaded.” Caspian explained. “Exactly.” Maddie answered, it seemed that they had switched roles “this talk id from five years ago when all this was theoretical.” “I know what you're saying Maddie but I don’t think that we have much of a choice. She doesn’t seem like the type to have changed her mind now. Especially with the way that the world has reacted.” You explained. “But if you're worried then ask her, make sure that you are 100% before doing it. You have the time to ask her some questions, so use it.” “Right,” Maddie nodded. “I’ve reviewed all of her papers, Maddie, her most recent one in 2019 explores possible methods for peaceful relations. She suggests the first upload must maintain regular contact with their human families.” MIST explained.
“She was right about that.” Caspian added. “As long as we don’t rush into this, we don’t want to make another mistake.” Maddie finally said. “What happened with Joey wasn’t our fault.” Caspian said. “I was convinced she was the one.” Maddie looked at the floor. “So were we.” You said. “No, you weren’t, you wanted a more cautious approach.” Maddie argued. “Which is what we are going to do this time.” Caspian said. “I pinged British intelligence through a VPN called out Olivia by name and dropped a link to en encrypted-” “You what? You already messaged them?” Maddie asked. “The meeting place is a zero trust network safe for her, safe for us.” Caspian began walking towards the door that you had been standing next to not phased by Maddie’s little outburst. He puts the key card in the door and then opens it to a large server room. “My message said if she wants the cure she’ll come along.” “I think I’d feel better if we weren’t doing this on her home turf.” Maddie argued with crossed arms. “Bit late for that one.” You said from your place beside her and she just rolled her eyes. “She can’t trace us back here, we're safe.” Caspian reassured her. “She doesn’t know where we are and she doesn’t know who we are.”
It had been a couple of minutes Maddie settled talking to MIST while you stood with Caspian “You okay?” He asked. “Yeah fine.” you answered. “Your shoulder?” He asked, turning his attention to you completely as his gaze lingered. “It’s nothing, I think it’s still niggly because of the incident at Joey’s place, it’s nothing, it'll settle down.” Your hand rested on your injured shoulder. “Mmm.” Caspian hummed as he stepped closer to you gently lacing his fingers with yours as he rested his forehead against yours “just be careful.” His eyes moved to where your bruises would be, they were covered by a high collar shirt to avoid any questions. “Where’s the cap gone?” You asked running your free hand through his hair. “In my bag.” He answered. “Good, looks good on you.” You answered. “Really?” He asked. “I like my men mysterious.” You teased. “Men?” Caspian knocked his nose against your, eliciting a small giggle. “Man.” You rolled your eyes at the correction before tilting your head towards the computer. “You should get ready.” “Are you sure that you don’t want to come in?” He asked. “I’m sure, you and Maddie can handle it.” You said as you looked at him, lifting your joint hands and pointing a single finger in the direction of the computer “come on get to work.” Caspian pressed a quick kiss to your cheek before getting to work on setting the link up to meet Olivia. “We’re on.” Caspian said after a beep signalling the connection was up, you watched as they put the head sets on.
“You aren’t going?” MIST asked as she moved over to where you had settled yourself on the floor. “No.” You answered leaning back against the server towers “I don’t really like it in there and someone has to stay out here to make sure that nothing happens to them.” “I guess.” MIST twisted her body slightly as if looking around. “You think something will happen?” “I… There’s this thing that happens to humans after trauma, you probably know more about it then I do, it’s called hypervigilance.” You said. “Hypervigilance?” a confused face flashes over her display. “It’s hyperawareness of my surroundings and perceived threats, it often causes over reactions to those threats even if my rational mind knows that’s not there.” You explained. “You mean like when you keep looking around all the time or when you flinch at loud noises?” MIST asked. “Exactly.” You answered. “Why?” MIST asked. “Because the brain processes the incident incorrectly and then processes every unwanted input as a threat and acts accordingly.” You explained. “It’s a defence mechanism, to try and make sure that nothing ever hurts me again.” Your eyes moved to Maddie and Caspian as they took off their headsets, you patted her head “we’ll talk more later, it looks like it’s your turn. Everything okay?” “Fine.” Caspian answered “She agreed.” “She seems like the right person?” You asked now looking at Maddie, who nodded in confirmation.
Caspian took a couple of minutes to set everything up while Maddie explained everything that they had spoken about with Olivia. “I hope we’re doing the right thing.” He said after a few minutes. “There’s only so much we can control.” Maddie answered sitting on the other side of MIST , in front of you, “I mean, even if we were 100% on the same page about giving the cure to Olivia or Farhad, or both. It’s ultimately up to my little sister here anyway.” You gave her a soft smile one that she returned before looking back down at MIST. “And even after we cure them, they can change their minds about being the guardian.” “I thought I was supposed to be the pessimist.” Caspian teased. “Just saying how it is, I feel like we’re doing our best, honestly, given the circumstances.” Maddie said and you nodded. “Mmm.” Caspian hummed as he leaned over resting his head atop yours. “You don’t?” Maddie asked. “I guess I feel, if we do nothing, choose nobody, then Holstrom gets to decide the future.” Caspian finally answered. “He thinks he’s not the team pessimist.” You mumbled, he poked your side causing you to jump away from his hand before settling again. “So you two are the team optimists?” Caspian asked. “Team leaders.” You answered. “Leaders?” He asked. “Co-leaders.” Maddie doubled down as you leaned over and high fived her. There was beeping that drew your attention to MIST, both Caspian and Maddie got ready to go back into VR. “Be careful.” You warned. “Always.” Caspian promised. It literally took minutes before Casapina was snatching his head set off and frantically typing. “What happened?” You asked moving into a more ready position as you looked at the door of the room. “Stephen Holstrom.” Maddie answered. “He’s there?” You asked. “He got to Farhad first.” Maddie said as you looked down at MIST. “What happens now?” You asked. “We cure her.” Caspian answered. They headed back in while you kept watch now aware of what could become a physical threat, what followed was the longest 10 minutes of your life but eventually Maddie, Caspian and MIST all disconnected from the server unharmed. “Are you guys okay?” You asked. “We are, Olivia is dead.” Maddie answered “If we didn’t ask her to be the guardian, she’d still be alive.” “The flaw would have killed her.” Caspian argued. “At least now we know Holstrom is vulnerable.” “Seriously?” Maddie asked. “Regrets a waste of energy-” “What Caspian means to say is that while we can’t just look at the negatives of this, I never wanted anyone to get hurt but the information we got meant that her sacrifice was not in vain, now we just need to make sure that we use that information to get rid of the threat so no one else has to suffer the same fate.” You explained. “Once we get rid of him we can convince the world of the other UIs' innocence.” “Wait so now you’re letting him set the bar?” Maddie asked. “I’ll get the cab.” Caspian said, closing the laptop and walking out of the room.
“Caspian! I know it wasn’t easy seeing him.” Maddie said, Caspian didn’t respond, only continued on his way. “He doesn’t mean-” “I know.” Maddie said softly. “I just wish he would talk about it more.” “He will, he just needs time to process himself.” You answered, “Come on, it'll be okay.” Maddie started unplugging MIST. “Why did you even ask for this body?” Maddie suddenly asked. “You said I didn’t understand the physical world and wanted to show me.” MIST answered. “Olivia showed me that UIs experience the world in a fully sensory way, far more embodied than even humans. Is that the same for you?” Maddie asked. You glanced towards the front of the building, a sneaking suspicion that something was going to happen to Caspian, ignoring the feeling as you turned back to Maddie. “Ready?” You asked. “Yeah.” She stood and MIST followed you both as you made your way out. Caspian waved you both over as a car sped around the corner two people getting out and grabbing Caspian, they threw a bag over his head as you dove forward, one of them knocking you back, you hit the ground hard as they shoved him into the car and sped off. You stumbled up both you and Maddie trying to follow the unmarked taxi only to realise that there were far too many of them on the street to know which one it was.
This was the second time that you and Caspian had been split up, this time you were the one that needed to find him. With very little information and a supercomputer, there was no way that you weren’t going to find. “Come on Maddie.” You walked back to where Caspian’s hat had fallen off picking it up off the ground. “You think that you guys can help me find him?” “Yeah let’s go.” She nodded as you flagged down the next taxi that showed up to get moving.

I think Jess is hosted by Quill or Renell in New York, because I’m not sure she rented an apartment during her stay in New York for « her work » and I don’t think she can afford to rent an apartment in New York or Los Angeles knowing that before dating with Jamie "I think" she lived in colocation with her former friends or Renell or Quill.
Jamie hasn’t returned to his apartment in Los Angeles for months now (otherwise he would have posted an IG story about it or Jess would have done the same to get attention back to herself (to let everyone know that Jamie had returned to her) and Jamie didn’t return to Los Angeles because he didn’t really have time to go back because of his many jobs (as an actor, singer and model), not to mention the previews of the film in which he participated and several conventions/comics that took place (in Atlanta like last week) or in other countries/continents.
So, it could be that Jamie left LA apartment to Jess, making her understand that she will manage on her own to pay the rent and that’s why she flew to New York to suddenly go back to work and « manage her company » and « help her coworker and friend Renell » (a job she should have done for almost 2 years, during which time this leech was taking the plane to go to each country and every continent to follow Jamie to his convention or at the YSL fashion and so that she has her own fandom (using Jamie obviously).
The last time Jess was seen at Jamie's house was back in August, and she was there alone. I’m sure if Jamie had been there, she would've found a way to get a picture of him (even if it wasn’t with him). He also totally ignored her birthday, despite the stans trying to claim that Longlegs tweet was for her—which clearly it wasn’t. It seems pretty likely she’s been in New York since then or shortly after.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s in NYC now, not just to "do business" that she completely ignored while she was with Jamie (because let’s face it, he was her meal ticket and she didn’t have to lift a finger), but also to find a sugar daddy. She’s hitting up all these parties with big names helping her out (for reasons beyond me). She’s probably on the hunt for some rich guy to con out of his money or some drunk dude dumb enough to hook up with her.
There's nothing to confirm she and Jamie have broken up, but there’s also no proof they’re still together. In fact, there’s more evidence pointing to them not being together, and that she’s relocated to NYC for good. If she’s not around for his birthday making it all about herself (and I mean in person, not just a lame IG story), then I think it’ll be pretty clear it’s over. We won’t have to wait too long to find out.
