Im going to comicon this year, i bought a store bought outfit but i’d like to get into the habit of making and crafting my own, (i’m going as any robin this year) i’d like to make a few particular outfits which would require sewing and such.

I CAN SEW. i have sewed multiple times over the years and handmade small pillows to fixing my own tears on clothes so learning the profession to stitching clothing together shouldn’t be too hard.

But my curious questions areeee:

1; how to take care of wigs? normally i just lengthen my hair out and dye them to match the character or attempt it but i’ve been cutting it more short recently (dysphoria.) so give me some tips there

2: How to make accessories to weapons? FAKE weapons, i know clay, that soft clay, foam and cardboard are viable options but what other options can i use / have in my budget?

3: Where to GET large requirements of cardboard?? honestly we never have any in stock at my home.

4: How to wash said clothing if it’s handmade without fear of tearing it apart? (I hope these are actually good questions and not really silly ones)

5: How long does the average hand making of an accessory to weapon crafting make? (i’m not too worried about the colour process)

6 + Add on question: How do i keep the colour intact with the accessories?

7: How do i make the wigs look less janky on my head and less like i’ve just stuffed tissue around my head?? (Yes i do wear a bald cap.)

8: duplicate accessories?? What do you do with them?

9; if you mess up a wig when haircutting it what do you do?

YES I KNOW i could go on youtube and watch tutorials but i have done that’s the thing, i’ve done extensive research and i’ve saved up my money to get pains, rollers and a glue gun for after comiccon for preparation for next years comiccon, but this is just genuine curiosity like, how do i stay within my budget?

Which ranges to 20-30 (i’m good at saving money.) maximum at best 50. and i hate wearing store bought outfits because it feels less creative than those who make them.

Not to say those who wear store bought outfits are bad for it, i encourage all cosplays! i just wanna get into my own creativity you know? Feel free to drop in and answer with questions of your own.

Back to historical AUs so I'm thinking about a 'mafia' AU but like, historically accurate organized crime as it was in the 1920s during prohibition. Except Techno is not part of any specific gang, he's the dude who runs the speakeasy where all the different syndicates come to make deals and stuff.
