ANNE FINALLY HAS A(N UPDATED) CANON APPEARANCE!1!!!

I’ve been rewriting and redrawing more and more of Sovereign Ones and there’s a very prevalent theme of motherhood that has wormed its way into this series. More so in that sense of feeling obligated to take care of someone, feeling maybe, just maybe, a little twinge of resentment, and slowly beginning to come around, learning to love this person like your family. I hope those themes eventually become obvious to the reader as the series progresses.

Here’s some bts stuff for Sovereign Ones. Read on if ya want. Since Lloyd is a mechanic I had to come up with what he would work with and how he would work. The world of S.O. is a weird mix of future-y elements and fantasy junk, but for his work I leaned heavy into the futuristic technology bits that have been floating around in the blood of this series. I had this idea of Lloyd working on huge machinery, while suspended in the air on some kind of cable, (taking some mild inspiration from when I worked on crane maintenance in a machine shop (love me some high heights)). Developing bits and pieces of this universe, and I’ve finally decided on the names of these faceless armored characters.

I’m calling them the Mega-Deities. This blue fella is the Monarch Mega-Deity

Rewriting my comic from scratch means I get to give everyone a fresh look. Herald gets a redesign (and the thangs are thanging)… and Kaz gets a new haircut. Finally took the plunge and purged the first few chapters after re-reading them and still having a physical reaction to how much I disliked it 😮. I’m excited to start fresh!

Imagine that it’s still October 31st!! It’s become a Halloween tradition to draw my character Lloyd in some sort of Bayonetta outfit, and this year I went with the Tokyo queen herself. Had a lot of fun with this one. One of my biggest goals this year was to make my art more energetic feeling.
