My 4x level booster, the first circuit I designed myself, even if it is basically four opamps and some power filtering. Been running for a few minutes and hasn't blown up anything up, and the chip isn't even warm to the touch (any more, after correcting the fact that I'd designed it such that unplugged outputs made short circuits to ground).
This gets me audio in to my rack from the headphone outs on my Raspberry Pi & field recorder. Also want: a 6x level dropper, so I can use the line ins on said field recorder as a modular multitrack recorder; a mid-side encoder & decoder; and an all-pass filter. Also need to figure out some sort of enclosure/panel solution for these and the PSU.
Write up coming soon.

#eurorack#diy#modular synth#electronics#maybe I could get some panels 3d printed#don't know how wide they are but the prototype boards are suitably under 3U high

With school starting for so many people; here are some podcasts I use/used (Unordered)
Top Down Perspective - gaming news / talk show with a "Questions from the Fans" section. Recently added ads into the show via an automated system, only an issue when it cuts someone off mid-sentence.
The Co-Optional Podcast: "We only occasionally talk about videogames" gaming news / review show
The Devil's Mischief: like dark humor? This is for you. Comedy show that focuses on off-color humor (sometimes a bit too extreme), such as George Carlin, Lewis Black, and Richard Pryor.
The Pirate History Podcast: pretty self-explanatory. The host admits the show is biased in favor of British pirates, bit does try to shed the darker side as well as discussion on Mediterranean Pirates.
The Thrilling Adventure Hour: "A new style podcast in the style of old time radio!" Classic radio-plays, adapted for modern tastes. Sadly they have locked their old shows behind a paywall, but you might be able to find them. The newest shows are fully available.
Decoder Ring Theatre: another Radio Show podcast, but focuses on only a few stories. Leads to less humor than Thrilling Adventure Hour, but better drama.
Kakos Industries: an audio newsletter fr.the perspective of a company whose motto is "making evil, better"
The Accusation Party: not so much a fan anymore, but it used to give solid counter arguments to many of the popular "politically correct" stances. Then it seemed to be picking contrary stances just to aggravate people.
Welcome to NightVale: "visit our lovely dog park. But, remember: no dogs are allowed in the dog park. In fact, no one is. Pay no attention to the dark hooded figures within the dog park." (Used to be a huge fan, but I grew away from it after Desert Realm and stopped after the Dog Arc right after, sorry.)
Cox n Crendor in the Morning / Cox n Crendor: two idiots that know they're dumb try to run a "Morning News Radio Show"
We're Alive: Zombie Apocalypse survival / Radio Drama. Exceptional voice work and sound effects. I can't say my opinion without major spoilers.
Hello Internet: a "two dudes talking" podcast that has more "Corners" than even the most expansive nth dimensional shape.

Bluetooth headset recommended: four classic praise rate burst table classic flagship
It is undeniable that no matter whether it is a novice or an old driver to buy a Bluetooth headset, the favorable rate is the place that everyone values the most. After all, it will be used with a good evaluation. This is the most objective fact. However, what I want to remind the novice here is that the low-end low-cost headphones should be carefully bought. Most of them have no technical content at all, let alone the problems of Bluetooth disconnection, leakage, and sound delay. Therefore, comprehensive consideration, I gave you a summary of the four classic flagship Bluetooth headsets that are popular for you!

First, low-key and pragmatic JEET W1S Bluetooth headset
As a mid-to-high-end headphone brand, JEET Bluetooth Headsets are based on the concept of “pragmatism”. They focus on simplicity and practicality. They have no fancy appearance. All the research and development energy is spent on the quality of the headphones and the sound quality, like the 11mm neodymium magnet. Qualcomm chips and APTX technology make the sound quality and Bluetooth connection of JEET Bluetooth headset more prominent, creating a powerful and full-bodied sound quality. People send the nickname "BMW Small Steel Cannon", compared with the international big name, the sound quality is not bad. And if you look deeper, the comfort is better!
JEET W1S Bluetooth headset is the high-end flagship representative of the JEET headset brand. It is a Bluetooth headset specially designed for sports. It focuses on sports fever. It has 3 core black technologies and 23 technological innovations. It has been upgraded 12 times over the years. With 15 years of technical inspection in the audio and video field, with strong R & D experience and technical strength, even the extreme evaluation of car rolling, ice water soaking, high-temperature cooking and so on are not afraid!
Anyone who knows the JEET Bluetooth headset brand knows that the JEET Bluetooth headset is famous for its "ugly" style, and its main "non-fashion" style, especially the low-key and pragmatic style, has attracted a large number of fans, most of which are powerful, connotative and self-cultivating. Those who pay attention to internal cultivation, they agree with the practical style of the current JEET brand, and various creative activities held under the JEET Bluetooth headset line, such as sending JEET to suggest how ugly friends are, ugly self-help guides, etc., let more "Ugly powder" gathered together to let more people know that the JEET Bluetooth headset brand is a national brand that pays attention to social responsibility!
Second, BOSE Sound sport Bluetooth headset
This Bluetooth headset is different from the general Bluetooth headset. The headphone cavity is large, and the outer part is made of silicone. It combines roundness and squareness. The headphones themselves are available in a variety of colors, such as pure black, black and blue, which are more resistant to dirt.
Third, JBL × UA FLEX sports Bluetooth headset
The JBL×UA FLEX sports Bluetooth headset features a neck-mounted design with the operating area of the headset placed on either side of the collar. At a glance, you can see that the buttons on the left have a switch/Bluetooth pairing/playback pause, and the outgoing voice assistant/warning light is on. The right button is for volume increase and decrease, and the daily use is completely enough!
Fourth, Shure SE215-BT1 Bluetooth headset
Shure's Bluetooth headset features a corner design and a unique shape that is more resistant to dirt. The headset is divided into two main sections, with volume control and ellipsoidal modules. This ellipsoidal module is bulky and can be used to drop the receiving chip, decode and amplify the circuit, and a larger battery. In addition, the earphone cavity can naturally sag, and there is no pressure on the ear!

Elon Musk wins access to files from Twitters former head of product
Elon Musk wins access to files from Twitter’s former head of product Elon Musk wins access to files from Twitter’s former head of product Kristen Radtke / The Verge; Getty Images Elon Musk’s lawyers notched a partial win this week in their Delaware Court of Chancery standoff against Twitter with a motion requesting information from 22 Twitter employees, or “custodians,” in addition to 41 others that both sides already agreed on for sharing data. Judge Kathaleen McCormick ruled on the issue Monday afternoon, deciding Twitter has to “collect, review, and produce documents” from just one of the people listed: Kayvon Beykpour, the former head of consumer product at Twitter. With the October 17th trial date for Twitter’s lawsuit against Musk for trying to break up their $44 billion deal drawing closer — and Musk selling billions of dollars worth of his stock in Tesla — his lawyers are trying to find something to shore up their arguments that Twitter committed fraud, while Twitter’s legal team issues subpoenas to help out the case on their side. Insider reports, based on anonymous sourcing, that Musk’s lawyers were pursuing information from Twitter employees who ranged from mid-level execs to lower-level employees, and noted that his legal team filed another motion to compel pursuing info on Twitter’s user data, as well as the methods used to collect and analyze it. As described in a lengthy countersuit (that Twitter already responded to), they argue the company put walls in the way of Musk’s attempts to verify data about how many daily active users are actually bots, as Musk disputes the company’s claim that spam bots account for fewer than 5 percent of the accounts it measures. When Beykpour appeared on our Decoder podcast last year to talk about Twitter’s upcoming plans, we described him as “responsible for deciding what tools Twitter actually builds for people to express themselves.” Those tools included things like Super Follows, the live audio Spaces rooms, and its Revue newsletters. However, he’s now a former exec after Twitter’s new CEO, Parag Agrawal, fired Beykpour and the corresponding leader on the revenue side, Bruce Falck, in one sweeping move on May 12th. Beykpour explained his departure by tweeting, “Parag asked me to leave after letting me know that he wants to take the team in a different direction.” Bloomberg reports Musk lawyer Alex Spiro said, “we look forward to reviewing Beykpour’s communications and will continue to seek information and witnesses until the full truth comes out.” https://ift.tt/R5oyEIZ https://ift.tt/gMWB7Fl

Nugen Introduce Sigmod Last Week to save 40% $29 thru June 25
Nugen Introduce Sigmod Last Week to save 40% $29 thru June 25

NUGEN Audio is proud to announce availability of SigMod — a utility toolbox plug-in that more than lives up to its Thousands of ways to enhance your plug-ins and DAW tagline with straightforward signal flow modification via 11 single-process modules that can easily be inserted, swapped, and moved around, allowing for new options to correct, convert, or tweak audio as required — as of May 24…
Put simply, SigMod allows for far more flexibility than is already available in DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) setups by allowing access to creative and advanced production techniques with ease — even if they are not supported natively within its user’s DAW/plug-in collection — courtesy of the following flexible selection of single-process modules: Mid/Side (for converting stereo plug-ins to mid/ side operation); Protect (for safeguarding digital equipment via virtual protection ‘circuitry’); Mono (for switching the signal path to mono to check for phase cancellation and image issues); Switch (for switching over the left and right — or mid/side — signals); Delay (for delaying the — milliseconds or samples — signal path); Phase (for inverting either side); Trim (for applying dB offset); DC Offset (for detecting and offsetting accordingly); Tap (for parallel processing); Crossover (for splitting frequencies to apply band-limited effects); and Mute/Solo (for muting or soloing a specific channel).
Combining those modules in any order allows SigMod users to design the precise routing required, resulting in instant inclusion of ‘missing’ features for easy exploration of new creative choices with auto-resizing keeping signal flow and functionality clear at all times. The upshot of all this is that SigMod serves up many useful, creative processes that are otherwise difficult to engage. Examples include adding mid/side functionality to classic compressor and EQ emulations, or getting creative with mid/side delays, distortion, and many other effects by inserting the Mid/Side encoder/decoder either side of any left/right plug-in instance.
Another useful instance involves inserting Protect across the output bus which will result in this safety module automatically cutting in to prevent bursts of noise or feedback howls due to system errors (with manual or auto-reset options providing protection levels as deemed necessary). Needless to say, this is invaluable when working with headphones while mixing. Though the wonderful world of parallel processing — namely, a second audio signal running alongside or ‘in parallel’ with the original sound to enhance and enlarge it in some way (rather than simply chaining a series of effects to interrupt the dry sound of an audio or software instrument track via its inserts) — can prove daunting to some, it doesn’t have to be that way with SigMod... simply drop in the Tap module and all is good to go! Get going elsewhere equally easily using the Crossover module to split the high frequencies from the lows, allowing application of different effects to different frequency ranges — really useful for avoiding muddying up the low frequencies or getting creative with automation or sweep effects.
Endless fun can clearly be had with the time-saving SigMod. Thanks to its interesting creative patching possibilities, putting into practice advanced production techniques can be easily achieved. Also achievable are significant CPU (Central Processing Unit) load savings since SigMod only uses a significantly smaller part of a complex plug-in when solving a simple task, meanwhile making up for DAW architecture shortfalls. SigMod is available to purchase as a 32- and 64-bit-supporting AAX-, AU-, VST-, and VST3-compatible utility toolbox plug-in for Mac (OS X 10.7 and above) and Windows (Vista and above) directly from NUGEN Audio at an introductory price of $29.00 USD until June 25, 2018 (rising to its regular price of $49.00 USD thereafter). For more in-depth information, please visit the dedicated SigMod webpage here: http://www.nugenaudio.com/sigmod-modular-signal-architecture-sound-design-aax-au-vst_62

Optoma UHD35 projector review: Fabulous 4K picture for the price
New Post has been published on https://appradab.com/optoma-uhd35-projector-review-fabulous-4k-picture-for-the-price-2/
Optoma UHD35 projector review: Fabulous 4K picture for the price

The UHD35 is a 4K projector that costs only a few hundred dollars more than many 1080p projectors. It’s bright, has fairly accurate colors and looks far better than you might expect of a “budget 4K projector.” And it serves up eye-watering detail on a gigantic screen, the kind of sharpness that no 1080p projector can match.
Like
Bright with excellent sharpness
Accurate color
Costs only slightly more than 1080p competitors
Don’t Like
Mediocre contrast ratio
Limited zoom and no lens shift
While overall the image on the UHD35 looks good, it still has the same issues common among projectors similar in price. There’s no lens shift, the zoom is minimal and the contrast ratio — an aspect of image quality even more important than detail and resolution — is fairly average. It’s also noisy, which is true of all small projectors, but the sound from the UHD35 is more wheeze than whirr. And then there’s the HDR picture quality, which is improved over the earlier UHD30 but still not great.
Overall though, the UHD35 looks really good: Bright, vibrant colors, 4K detail, all in a projector that only costs a few hundred more than some great 1080p projectors like the Epson HC2250 or BenQ HT2250A. If you’re looking to step up in sharpness without going too far into debt, it deserves strong consideration.
4K4U
Native resolution: 3,840×2,160 pixels
HDR-compatible: Yes
4K-compatible: Yes
3D-compatible: Yes
Lumens spec: 3,600
Zoom: Manual (1.1x)
Lens shift: None
Lamp life (Eco mode): 10,000 hours
The UHD35 is a 4K projector and, as you’d expect, can accept a 4K signal up to 60Hz. Interestingly, it can also accept 1080p up to 240Hz, if you’ve got a gaming rig capable of such a framerate.
One spec improvement of the UHD35 over its predecessor is its claimed light output, now at 3,600 lumens. The UHD30 was no slouch either, at 3,400. I measured close to the same on both, technically slightly less with the UHD35, but the difference was well within the range of measurement error and unit-to-unit variation. The point is, they’re bright.
There’s no lens shift, not a big surprise for a DLP-based projector in this price range. The zoom range is also rather meager, at 1.1x. So the range of distance from the screen is limited, placement-wise.

Geoffrey Morrison/CNET
2×2.0 and more
HDMI inputs: 2 (HDMI 2.0)
PC input: Analog RGB
USB port: 1 (1.5A power)
Audio input and output: 1 in, 1 out (3.5mm)
Digital audio output: 1 (Optical)
Internet: None
12v trigger: Yes
RS-232 remote port: Yes
Remote: Backlit
While many other projectors have been dropping inputs, the UHD35 keeps several that seem almost anachronistic in a home theater projector in 2021. There’s still an analog RGB input, for instance.
For the home automation crowd, there are RS-232 and 12v triggers. For the complete opposite of that crowd, if you want to plug in a speaker directly to the UHD35, there are 3.5mm analog outputs and an optical digital output. There’s also a USB connection that can power a streaming stick.
A noticeable change from UHD35’s predecessor is a second HDMI 2.0 input.

Geoffrey Morrison/CNET
Picture quality comparisons
The BenQ is our pick for best PJ for the money overall. It’s only 1080p, but its color and contrast are so good — and I’ve seen how far above its weight it can punch — it seemed like a logical comparison. The UHD30, one of our favorites from 2020, is the direct predecessor to the UHD35. I connected the two Optomas via a Monoprice 1×4 distribution amplifier. The BenQ, being 1080p, got its own source. I viewed them all, side-by-side-by-side on a 12-foot-wide 1.0-gain screen.
One of the best things about DLP projectors is, in general, how sharp and detailed they are. They’re the only current display technology with no semblance of motion blur, so even at 1080p the BenQ is very sharp, even with motion. However, the Optomas are so much sharper. Projectors and the huge images they produce are the best way to see 4K content. The sharpness does draw the eye, with fine details like hair, wrinkles, fabric textures and so on much more apparent and lifelike with the Optomas. Neither are quite as sharp as the much more expensive LG HU810P, but better lens optics is one of the things you get when you spend more money.
Color-wise, the Optomas and the BenQ are quite similar, which is to say good. Unlike many DLP projectors, these three have accurate colors. So everything from background skies and sea, skin tones and hair, all look realistic. I’d give a nod to the UHD35 with HDR content, but we’ll get to that in a next.

Geoffrey Morrison/CNET
Generally, the UHD35 looks better than the UHD30 with HDR. This isn’t because it’s brighter, or has a better dynamic range. In both cases they’re nearly identical to the UHD30. It seems Optoma has improved its HDR remapping — the process of converting the HDR source to best match the display’s capabilities. This process is important with just about every display, but especially with projectors since they have neither the light output nor dynamic range to do HDR well. So HDR content needs to be remapped to be watchable.
The image on the UHD35 is, on average, brighter (even with the same settings). It also has far less banding, an artifact that looks like abrupt bands where there should be smooth transitions from bright to dark or one shade to another.
A good scene to show this off is the opening flying fight from Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The bright sky and clouds on the UHD30 show banding bad enough that even casual viewers would wonder if there was something wrong with the projector. The UHD35 doesn’t have this issue, though on some content I still saw some banding. If you notice it and are bothered by it, you don’t lose much just turning off HDR in your source.
Contrast has never been a DLP strong suit and the 4K chips seem worse than their 1080p predecessors. The two Optomas have basically the same contrast ratio, in the mid 600s, which is far less than the BenQ. It’s still the crowning champ in that regard at over 2,000:1. As a result the BenQ’s image has more depth and more punch to it. That said, the UHD35’s 649:1 is on par with pretty much every other 4K projector I’ve reviewed in the last year and higher than some far more expensive projectors.
Which is to say, the BenQ holds its own against projectors that cost nearly twice as much and with 4x the resolution. That extra resolution though — on a 100+ inch screen and with a contrast ratio that isn’t bad, plus great color — does make the UHD35 eminently watchable.

Geoffrey Morrison/CNET
More of the same can be a good thing
Side by side, there isn’t a massive difference between the UHD30 and the UHD35. That’s not a bad thing. The UHD30 was one of our favorite projectors last year — and one I kept going back to when I was between projector reviews. The new model is a little more colorful, which is certainly pleasing to the eye, and definitely decodes HDR better, even if there’s little real performance benefit to the HDR itself. If you already have a UHD30, there’s no reason to upgrade.
However, I think it’s safe to assume the vast majority of you reading this don’t have a UHD30 and are coming into this just looking for an inexpensive 4K projector. In that case, the UHD35 is great. It is bright, has fairly accurate colors and creates an overall highly watchable image. It’s not as bright as some, nor does it have as high contrast ratio as others, but it does offer 4K resolution for $1,300 which is a great deal. If you want the extra detail of 4K, without sacrificing color, brightness, or your wallet, yet can still afford spending more than $1,000 on a projector, the UHD35 is a great choice.

Measurement Notes
For the most accurate picture I used the Cinema picture mode and the D65 color temperature mode. This resulted in an image that was a little too warm, as in slightly lacking blue, across the brightness range.
Light output was solid in every mode. In the Cinema mode I measured 174 nits on a 102-inch 1.0 gain screen, for a lumen equivalent of 1567, roughly the same as other 4K DLP projectors in its class. If you want to sacrifice color and color temperature accuracy, the Bright picture mode bumps that up to an impressive 308.8 nits, though the overall image is much worse.
Color is quite accurate, with red, green, blue, cyan and yellow all on or close to their Rec 709 targets. Magenta is slightly red.
Contrast ratio, as typical with 4K DLP projectors, wasn’t great but roughly the same as its competitors. On average, I measured a native contrast ratio of 649:1. For reference, this is less than the 1080p Epson 2250 (1,026:1) and BenQ HT2050A (2,094:1, the best in class), but higher than the $3,000 4K LG HU810P (490:1). The Dynamic lamp mode tracks the incoming video signal and varies the lamp output accordingly. In this mode, the UHD35 has a dynamic contrast ratio of 2,034:1. The Eco+ mode does the same, but limits the maximum light output for better energy efficiency. In this mode the dynamic contrast ratio is 1,173:1.

About Jeep Commander keylock infrastructure
Jeep is an American international car-maker with an headquarter in Auburn Hills, Michigan, the USA Built in 1941 by manufacturing Sport utility vehicles.
Jeep originate accepting transponder chipped keys in 1998. Several earliest cars keys might be comfortably cloned utilizing dash-board console process, however with most current vehicles the combination of audio and infrared message is encoded and a distinct diagnostic equipage is mandatory.
Modern vehicles (since 2007) employs push-start electronic ignition system and the Keyless Go as keyless entry device.
Ignition switch repair
After locking and unlocking the ignition lock so many time, it is certainly conventional to face some type of ignition trouble and the signs is possibly key is stuck in the key mouth and wont turn, dashboard security lights are on, ignition key can't turn in the ignition and ignition key turn freely in the ignition and you cant start up your vehicle.
The source of those troubles might be a decaying key or an ignition switch malfunction and for one and the other scenarios, ignition replacement or repair is a job for an expert technician, so we recommend drivers not to make unauthorized alterations to the ignition switch by inexperienced individual that most likely going to cause a greater deterioration.

Decaying Jeep Commander ignition key

When the malfunction caused by a battered key, basic cloning of the key going to likely copy the fault to the new made key. Alternatively to copying the run-down key data, a qualified vehicle lock man ought to use suitable Jeep Commander cutters, programmers and diagnostic tools to construct a new key in consonance with the vehicle ID number.

Broken Jeep Commander ignition lock

When the malfunction caused by the ignition switch, it is possibly due to the fact that dirt or dust trapped in the ignition crater hole or perhaps a detach or broken axis or rod inside the ignition lock preventing the switch from turning on. Using suitable ignition diagnostic, replacing and troubleshooting equipment a lock-smith have to extract any dirt or dust from within the key-hole alterate or rekey ignition lock or maybe even outplace the ignition overall.
Transponder key form
As a result of the large extent of vehicle theft back towenty years ago, majority of cars starting at nearby 1995 implement electronic key-lock utilizing transponder key, passive anti theft or V.A.T.S keys.
The idea behind this is to attain anti theft structure where the vehicle contain ECM and the key contain a small scale chip hidden into it's plastic apex.
Whenever the owner inject the key into the ignition key-space, authorization code is conveyed to the car computer system. If the car computer system will not understand the signal, the motor vehicle engine won’t crank. This mechanism means that sit on top of cutting a blank-key, the key need to be coded to the car by a suitable programming machine done at the dealership or by a locksmith .
Jeep Commander smart-key
Push-to-start ignition mechanism arrive with a remote fob that a user can hide in the briefcase, purse or pocket, or everywhere within a distance of close proximity to the immobiliser inside the car.
The chip in the key-less entry deliver an exclusive low radio-frequency signal to the vehicle computer, which in turn makes sure that the proper signal has been transmitted and allows the user to remotely open and close the doors locks besides click a toggles on the dashboard to deactivate or light up the engine avoiding inserting a key or pressing a button on the fob.
Though smart-keys and push-to-start ignition has become greatly available, even on mid-level motor vehicles, these instruments are still not an necessity as power windows and door locks, nevertheless, the convenience factor is a a selling point for many smartkeys consumer.
Copy vs lost car keys
Current Jeep Commander key and lock instrumentation contains car and transponder chipped key and even though chipped keys furnished in a selection of keyless device, high security, flipkey and key-fob keys, the prime idea around this system is that the transmitter in the key deliver a signal to the receiver in the car. If the receiver does not identify a compatible signal, the fuel injection will locked and the vehicle wouldn't run.
A few outmoded cars keys might be smoothly copied employing dash-board console procedure, yet normally to copy another key, the transponder inside the key should be programmed by a suitable programming machine carried by the dealership or a locksmith.
If all your keys is lost or stolen, the ECM should be decoded to utilize the new key and dismiss the old one. This practice feathers a safety feature assuring the disabling of the misplaced or stolen key. This key programming, solution available only to a licensed locksmith or the Jeep Commander dealer, which means that you’ll must call a car key-smith or tow your vehicle to the dealership.

Floor standing speakers have richer sounds, powerful bass, and an acoustic sound. Our selection of floor standing speakers with subwoofer has all you need to light up any living space with richer sounds.
Do you need a subwoofer with floor standing speakers?
What subwoofer does is increase the bass of the music or movie, and create a louder sound for the stereo player. But with a floor standing speakers with subwoofer, you don't really need anymore subwoofer except if you want your neighbors to pack out, but some of the listed speakers can also bed connected to a subwoofer for a more richer sound. Unless specifically stated that the speaker has no subwoofer or may need a subwoofer, then you might want to get one and also an amp, otherwise, you don't really need any subwoofer with a floor standing speakers with subwoofer.
Are floor standing speakers better than bookshelf?
Firstly, floor standing speakers, unlike bookshelf don't, need going on a bookshelf or a speaker stand. Floor standing speakers usually have more bass output and they sound much louder than bookshelf speaker. Even though some floor standing speakers don't have a subwoofer or are not full-range speakers. If you have floor standing speakers with richer sounds like we do here, you might want to pack up your bookshelf speaker as these pack a huge punch.
Can I use floor standing speakers for surround sound?
Floor standing speakers can be used for many things like surround sound system, but they are usually used as the main front speakers. Among the things, you can use a floor standing speakers as a rear surround system, also if the floor-standing speaker comes in a 5.1 channel system. Usually, a stand-alone floor standing speaker will have dome tweeters (maybe 2 or 3) and large subwoofers, but if it comes as a 5.1 channel, then both tweeters and subwoofer come separately.
Can any speaker be used as a subwoofer?
If the speaker has a subwoofer, then yes you can, but if the speaker has no subwoofer, there is no point. What subwoofers do is to improve the sound stereo system, but not just any speakers, subwoofers does that. Subwoofers are usually used in home theater systems to bring out a richer sound, deeper bass if properly integrated with the right sub with inbuilt or external amp, it will deliver a heavy punch.
Where should I place my subwoofer or floor standing speaker in my room?
Floor standing speakers are usually used as a surround system or front speakers, just like subwoofers they can be placed in the corner of the room which can make it sound louder. You can place the floor-standing speaker in the middle of the room, (below image) it is a 5.1 channel floor-standing speaker, well connected and I can tell you, my house sounds like a mini club, always tempted to have an indoor party, but that's once in a while. Another way is to try which sides produce louder and richer sounds, but you have to consider your floor space so it is not out of your listening.
Most of these floor standing speakers are sold in pair, so check well with the seller to know what you are buying Top Floor Standing Speakers

Season 6, Mission 8: Runaway
Vessels passing in the night
SAM YAO: Runner Five, are you receiving this? Get to the gate right now. Bloody hell, it feels like a long time since I last said that, doesn't it? I don't know, what with one thing and another. We've been running so many missions, but I don't know if we've actually raised the gates lately. I miss this, Five.
PAULA COHEN: You ready to go, Five?
SAM YAO: It's a dangerous mission. The woman who ran that listening post in Worthington-on-Sea is on the run.
PAULA COHEN: Oh yes, Amelia told us her name. Sweetpea? She has pink and purple bunches, and likes mid-80s synth rock? My kind of woman.
SAM YAO: I picked up a message from her via Rofflenet. Secret channel. She has a message about Sigrid's work on Moonchild Syndrome. We can't risk her being picked up by a Ministry-loyal territory.
PAULA COHEN: I heard yesterday that Kingsnorth has gone Ministry.
SAM YAO: Yep. Sigrid's passing her serum out like horrible baby-derived candy bars, so uh, you'll catch the next train running along our border with Radial. Your contact'll meet you there.
PAULA COHEN: The contact's Lobatse, isn't it?
STEVE SISSAY: We can neither confirm nor deny that, Dr. Cohen.
PAULA COHEN: Steve! It's been ages. How's your eye?
STEVE SISSAY: Oh. Well, it was nothing. And then the second and third times, it was also nothing.
SAM YAO: You've got to make that train. But wait for it... raise the gates! [gate siren, gates raising] Oh my God, that felt good! Covering fire! [gunshots] Five and Paula, get that train. Run!
PAULA COHEN: All right, Five. The train will have to slow down at this bend. If we time this just right, we'll be able to jump onto the viewing platform at the back. I love these old 1960s trains, don't you? I think Sigrid found them easy to convert to multiple fuel sources. They're just elegant.
STEVE SISSAY: Yeah. I bet that baby has a sleeping car.
PAULA COHEN: I bet it has a smoking car.
SAM YAO: I bet it has a jelly bean dispenser. ... what? Right. Five and Paula, run now and grab onto the back of the train. Okay, great, you're on! Now there should be someone waiting for you in the last carriage.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Dr. Cohen, Runner Five, it is so good to see your faces.
PAULA COHEN: Oh, not as good as it is to see you, Bots! How are you? Keeping well?
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Oh, as well as can be expected. I am here under false papers, and no one looks too closely at the papers of a doctor in a hospital anyway.
PAULA COHEN: Don't you want to get out?
KEFILWE LOBATSE: These people need me. Let me tune my earpiece to your frequency, Sam. Is that you?
SAM YAO: Oh, it's great to hear your voice, Kefilwe.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Oh. Is it just you, today?
STEVE SISSAY: No. Um. I'm here, too.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Oh. Steven. Hello.
STEVE SISSAY: Hello.
GUARD: Papers. Everyone, papers, please.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: We cannot afford for that guard to find you both here. Quickly, out onto the viewing platform. [door slides open] We will climb up the ladder onto the roof. Then we must run along the train roof to be in position to jump to the next train.
SAM YAO: Uh, the next train?
STEVE SISSAY: I know. [sighs] She's amazing.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Five, Paula, run!
PAULA COHEN: Wow. You really can see how divided the country's become from up here. Tiny little pocket states. Some are no bigger than a farm or two.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Some of them owe fealty to Sigrid. Some side with the Exmoor Militia or the Psychoanalysts. Some have hired Pit Viper assassins to protect them. Some are run by militarized gangs or are playing different sides against the middle.
STEVE SISSAY: That train is the only one that goes between several different pocket states. Anyone on it might be secret police. The only way to get those papers to Sweetpea is to make sure you've thrown off any pursuers.
PAULA COHEN: So, should we be worried that the guard asking for papers had a Pit Viper tattoo on his face?
STEVE SISSAY: Marbles. Kefilwe?
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Marbles, Steven.
SAM YAO: As in, "Am I losing my"?
KEFILWE LOBATSE: No, no. I'm about to lose mine. Five, Paula, do you see our train coming from the other direction? The two trains will slow as they pass. We will jump from one to the other and run up to the engine, and I will empty this bag of marbles into the carriage below us to prevent pursuit. Wait for it!
STEVE SISSAY: Wait for it...
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Now! [dumps marbles] Five, remember to keep moving when you land. Now jump!
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Woohoo! That was very good. You are well on your way now.
STEVE SISSAY: You've got the papers for Sweetpea?
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Oh, yes. Here they are, Five. Keep them safe. They have her name and photograph. They would not pass muster at one of Sigrid's checkpoints into Abel territory, but she can use them to cross into Devil Fish, and then the Exmoor Militia will pick her up.
PAULA COHEN: You could have left these papers in a safe spot for us, you know. No need to risk your neck.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: I wanted to see them safely into your hands. And besides -
STEVE SISSAY: You want to keep your hand in, don't you, babe? Get more experience in espionage. Learn the ropes.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Yes. It is useful. And also... I think I like it. It is extremely fun and exciting.
SAM YAO: Hey, if Janine hears you say that, when she's back, she'll have you signed up to MI6 fast as look at you.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: I will have to make sure she hears me, then.
STEVE SISSAY: That's the spirit.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Five, Paula, get ready. The train is slowing down.
STEVE SISSAY: We'll be in touch via the usual dead drop then, babe.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: We will, Steven. I cannot wait for your next coded message.
STEVE SISSAY: Oh yeah. I'm going to make it very hard to decode. If you know what I mean.
SAM YAO: Yeah, we all know what you mean.
KEFILWE LOBATSE: Five, Paula, this is it. The train will stop at this red signal for just a few seconds. Climb up onto the railway bridge and head along it to the far side. Be quick! Run!
SAM YAO: All right, Five, that's the spot. The coded message said Sweetpea's waiting in that railway warehouse.
[door creaks shut]
PAULA COHEN: It's beautiful. Victorian. Brick and cast iron columns. Built in a world before zombies. Will probably outlast them all. Looks like one of Sigrid's supply dumps. There are rows of packing boxes labeled with letters and numbers.
SAM YAO: Ah! No, yeah, that makes sense. Sweetpea said she'd be waiting at A17.
PAULA COHEN: Hmm. Well, we've come in at Y349. I suppose we'd better run, Five.
PAULA COHEN: A25, A23, A21, A19... ah! Voilà. A17, here it is. Down this alley between the packing crates. [whispers] Did you hear that, Sam? Sounds like footsteps.
SAM YAO: Yeah... oh yeah! I see someone on cams a few rows over. Oh. Someone with a Pit Viper tattoo. You need to find Sweetpea and get out of there. ... Someone's already found her, haven't they?
PAULA COHEN: Yup. She's here. Pink and purple bunches, as described. But she's dead.
SAM YAO: Oh, that Pit Viper's still walking the aisles. Can't have heard you, or you'd be dead already, too. You've got to get out of there!
PAULA COHEN: Not yet. Not yet. If the Pit Viper's still looking, they can't have found whatever Sweetpea brought with her. Must still be looking for it. So it might be – ah! See that, Five? Little corner of something wedged into this packing case. If we can just get it out of there... [cracks crate open] It's a mini tape recorder.
SAM YAO: And that Pit Viper heard the noise you made! Five, Paula, there's going to be a train passing through, heading for Funder's Farm. They're neutral territory. You've got to run for it, now!
PAULA COHEN: Come on, Five, grab my hand! [sighs] Oh, we made it. Sam, we made it.
SAM YAO: Okay. Okay. It's all right. You can ride that thing all the way to Funder's Farm, and we'll pick you up from there.
PAULA COHEN: Come on, Five. We can take a seat. Here's the tape player. This is what got the poor girl killed. Do you think we should listen?
SAM YAO: Hmm. Well, is there anyone else around?
PAULA COHEN: No. The train's almost empty. I'll just play the start.
NEWS REPORTER: - and in the news today, the Minister has announced that the national coal lines are proving even more effective than previously expected.
SAM YAO: Hm? Well, this just sounds like a news report from a few days ago. When you were doing that mission with the Winchers, I think, Five.
PAULA COHEN: It certainly doesn't sound secret or sensitive.
NEWS REPORTER: Crop yields are also expected to be considerably higher next year than this, due to the Ministry's [audio distorts] defensive agricultural policies.
PAULA COHEN: [muffled] Are you all right, Five?
NEWS REPORTER: [distorted] The Minister is particularly interested in you. If you can hear this message, you have something she wants.
MOONCHILD: Do you hear that, Five? I'm serious. Is it just me?
[news report continues in the background]
PAULA COHEN: [muffled] Five, you're looking really weird. It's just the news, Five.
SAM YAO: [muffled] Five? Five, do you – can you - ? Are you all right?
NEWS REPORTER: [distorted] If you can hear this message, you have Moonchild Syndrome. And if you have Moonchild Syndrome, the Minister wants to talk to you. You will come when we call you. You will do what we tell you. You belong to us.
[SAM YAO and PAULA COHEN continue trying to get Runner Five's attention in the background]
MOONCHILD: I feel strange... I feel really, really strange. Mercury rising, trouble ahead... She's looking for me. She's coming for me! What has she done to my people?
NEWS REPORTER: [distorted] We will find you.

[clear] We will find you and make you ours.
