The Knocker x Reader Headcanon

🌲 The Knocker didn’t find you. It heard you. Every pickaxe tap, every torch placed, every echo of your footsteps—it memorized them. You made music, and it listened.

🌲 The first time you caught its glimmering eyes in the dark, it stilled completely, watching you. Silent. Then, it knocked three times, slowly, like a heartbeat. Your heartbeat.

🌲 It doesn’t understand human emotions conventionally, but it feels. Deeply. Obsessively. It mimics affection like a child might—off-mark, but terribly sincere.

🌲 Brings you strange “gifts”: glimmering ores freshly dug from walls, clusters of glowing lichen braided with cave roots, bones it’s cleaned immaculately.

🌲 Knocks on your door at night. You don’t hear it, but you wake up and things are�� different. Reorganized. Cleaner. Or messier. It depends on its mood.

🌲 Gets jealous of iron golems and villagers. Doesn’t attack, but they seem to avoid your area suddenly. You don’t see them again.

🌲 Taps in patterns on your walls that you realize mimic your voice when you talk. It’s trying.

🌲 Has learned the cadence of your name—knock knock… knock. You swear it sounds like it’s calling to you.

🌲 You begin to see symbols in the stone. Spiral-shaped grooves. Crude hearts made from crushed redstone.

🌲 It once imitated your voice exactly, calling you from a dark shaft. When you investigated, nothing was there—just three fresh knock marks in the wall.

🌲 You’ve stopped bringing torches. Somehow, it always lights the way ahead. Dim, mossy glow. Feels like a whisper more than a light.

🌲 If you cry, the cave walls seem to knock softly in rhythm with your breathing. A lullaby. It never stops watching you.

🌲 When you leave the cave for too long, it scratches your name deep into the walls. Over and over. Whole tunnels are filled with jagged carvings shaped like your initials.

🌲 It’s figured out how to mimic your footsteps exactly. Sometimes you think you’re being followed, but when you turn, you’re alone. Still… the tapping continues.

🌲 One day, your skin brushes against the wall and it’s warm. Not from lava. Just… like something was pressed to it. Recently. Watching.

How *do* you change your karma with knocker? Just tolerate his shit?

tolerating him is absolutely a part of it, but to get more in-depth about it:

- NOT attacking him in any way (even unintentionally )

- appearing unafraid of him via like maintaining eye contact without running away or something

- kind of similar to the last one, letting him linger when he appears rather than approaching and triggering a reaction like disappearing/attacking from his coding . I interpret it as giving the miserable minecraft boogeyman a break

- placing a black bed (that you don't sleep in) somewhere inside your house

- naming a pet after him

- playing music discs (except for the creepy ones)

- placing several interactable blocks around (doors/trapdoors, buttons, fences, levers) (listen its like. his coding demands for him to interact with these regularly . the more the easier for him to hit his internal quota )

- players who explore ( given he's tied to the player, only able to appear where they are, he subconsciously enjoys getting to sightsee now and again)

- responding to his chat messages — he doesn't ALWAYS respond, but has a higher chance of engaging in conversation as opposed to his low-karma self, who more often than not rarely communicates through signs

- closing a door he opened or opening a door he just shut - and the same with the levers and buttons and whatever else - amuses him. He initially thinks of this as paranoia rather than play, which still serves to "reward" his coding

- if he's around to witness your death (jumping into lava, being blown up, shot by arrows, etc) (he finds this funny) or if he causes it (e.g pushing you into lava)

On the other hand, triggering "bad" karma is hilariously easy if you just did everything possible to offend him, like trapping him in cobwebs, attacking him, killing him, etc etc etc
