I read the last caption and was very puzzled, and then saw the last picture and literally grunted and shook my fist at the screen.
THAT IS NOT A MINIDISC!!!! I TRUSTED YOU!!!!
*breathes in*

THIS is a MiniDisc. Says so on the upper right corner. The player beside it is a MiniDisc player, as noted by the giant "MD" on it. It is a portable, recordable, encased format that started production in 1992, and is in literally no way a CD, hence "CD" not being part of its name.
Tumblr media
THIS is a mini CD. It has been the standard format for CD singles from CD's inception (being declared as much in the Red Book which codified the CD standard) to around the turn of the millennium when labels decided to no longer bother making two CD sizes. It is literally just a CD but smaller, hence its name being "mini CD" (CD but smaller) and it being in a CD drive, which not only can read mini CDs but to which mini CDs are literally indistinguishable from normal CDs (since in CDs the groove is read inside out and the player does not care when it ends). In fact, here is a mini DVD, which is the same concept but for DVDs...
Tumblr media
...and a mini Blu-ray, you'll never guess!
Tumblr media
Notice how these three are all discs of the same size, such that if the first one was called "mini disc", by the same logic these would all be "mini discs" and we would have three different formats with the same name. Of course, that is not the case and they all have different names, which, when you think about it, makes so much sense that it makes it pretty easy to remember that MiniDisc is the standalone format, because if it was a mini version of something the name should clarify of what.
I had to go into the office today to do annual inventory, which means I get to e-waste stuff that's been at the company longer than I have and *you* get to experience old computer junk.
Can I interest anyone in a SATA II controller? Compatible with WinServer 2003.

Hey I wanted to know about how people who barely know Lily get "abusive" vibes from her.
I remember Vouch and Westside Tyler and others immediately recognise this on her "Writer tips".
How can a young neurodivergant person look out for red flags in people like Lily? Is there a way to break out their web?
Thanks for reading xxx
This is a really good question, and a super important one too—because you're absolutely right: even people who barely know Lily Orchard often report getting a kind of “abusive vibe” from her. That instinct isn’t paranoia—it’s usually a reaction to very real red flags. The tone she takes, the control she exerts, the way she presents herself as an authority and discourages criticism... it all adds up.
For many neurodivergent people—especially younger folks—these kinds of figures can feel safe at first. Lily speaks confidently. She provides strict rules. She sounds like she knows what she’s doing. That kind of certainty can be really appealing when you're unsure of yourself, trying to navigate a creative space, or looking for guidance. And that’s part of what makes it dangerous.
So, how do you spot these red flags early? A few things to look out for:
1. Do they talk at you, not to you? Lily often talks down to her viewers, assumes ignorance or bad faith, and speaks in absolutes. Someone who genuinely wants to help you grow or think critically will invite conversation—not shut it down. If you feel like you're being scolded instead of engaged, that's a sign.
2. Do they discourage disagreement or curiosity? Lily routinely punishes disagreement. She bans people for asking questions she’s “already answered” (even if the person is new), labels corrections or different interpretations as “talking past her,” and paints dissenters as harassers or stalkers. If someone is building a community around their personal infallibility, run.
3. Do they make you feel small, stupid, or scared to speak? Even when Lily isn’t yelling, the vibe is there. She creates a power imbalance where she’s always right, always smarter, always more “in the know”—and if you don’t fall in line, you’re either pathetic or toxic. That’s classic behavior from someone who wants control, not connection.
As for breaking out of that web—it’s possible, and so many people have done it. The first step is recognizing that the discomfort or unease you feel is valid. You don’t need to wait for proof or a smoking gun. If someone’s content makes you anxious, if you feel like you're constantly walking on eggshells just to be part of the community, that is enough.
And finally—don’t beat yourself up if you fell into that web before. People like Lily are very good at what they do. They know how to speak to vulnerable people, how to make you feel like they’re doing you a favor by being cruel. But the fact that you’re asking these questions means you’re already seeing through it—and that’s the most powerful first step you can take.
