Aliens vs Predator (2010) with 4K!

This new movie made me want to play some of the older Aliens games. Landed on Aliens vs Predator from 2010 and I then checked out available mods. 4K in game cutscenes! Yes please.

Made a modding guide for that and some other things as well.

I hope this game is as good as I thought it looked. : P

"There's no easy road to break from hell..." A small something👀 Modded Minecraft multiplayer world just dropped for me and the fellas, and we have lore. Anyone wanting to join, hit me up on messages and I'll drop the Discord invite by.

Be warned: Colony members might not bite; but Xenomorphs do. (we are using AvP mod in the modpack)

And before anyone yells at me: yes I know that the word xenomorph is a defining term that means "alien lifeform" and should NOT be written in capital. Hell, even the subtitles for Alien Romulus didn't have it with a capital. I'm just doing it to keep the misconceptualized peeps in line. Hard choice.

One time in the Alien vs Predator fandom I spent weeks plotting and talking OOC with someone and then one day out of nowhere we just both realized we were from the same country, live less than an hour away from each other, and were both in English teacher-related career paths. So shout-out to my comrade Ness 🇦🇷

🔥 my hot take about the roleplaying community

This is for all RPCs, people with multiple muses have to realize that one person not being interested in one of your muses =/= that person doesn't want to roleplay with you at all. Like, if I expected you all to care about all of my muses if you wanna write with a single one of them, you'd all die of burnout or I'd logically have nobody to roleplay with. I've seen people accuse someone of USING THEM for a specific character just because that person wants Character A but not Character B, and shows the polite amount of interest when the person brings up Character B but makes no move to interact with that muse. Sometimes people just, DON'T think about a character with theirs in any way, if YOU DO think about that character with the other person's, YOU come up with a plot that might interest them.

Also to everyone else, please please PLEASE have an idea of who you want to interact with when you follow a multimuse- always but especially when they have many muses (like myself). "I love all your characters" will get us nowhere. I can't pick for you.

I don't have many pet peeves IC other than, self inserts, god modding, and ppl who use roleplay as barely disguised x reader stuff. But OOC, my biggest pet peeve is people who preach about things that they themselves fail to do. A big example of that across roleplay circles is people who preach about communication and then turn around and don't properly communicate. I personally am certain I've failed to communicate multiple times, it happens, that's why I don't preach about it.

The Original My Diaries by Aphmau started off as a modded minecraft series but grew and grew

an old Aliens Vs Predators series I watched as a kid, where the framing device was that the players pet chicken was a shapshifting alien transporting them from planet to planet

Hell, thats just to name TWO of the hundreds!

the thing that pisses me off about the minecraft movie is how boring it is (or will be). people have consistently proven that complex stories and ideas can be conveyed through minecraft, with it not just acting as a backdrop- instead we get jumanji: block edition and it’s so annoying. minecraft is a beautiful game that has brought so many people together, that influenced countless childhoods, and this is what we get? i’m pretty sure it’s going to be the same plot as fucking angry birds.

this movie is taking all the momentum that countless creatives have provided to minecraft for 15 years and acknowledging NONE of it. you can have your opinions of mcyters but at least they have the guts to tell a story.

fuck, maybe my expectations were too high- but it’s hard to not expect more when we consistently got more from way weirder sources. things like stampys lovely world, the fallen kingdom saga, dantdms lab, hermitcraft, the dsmp and qsmp, genuinely every minecraft let’s play has SOME form of story- it’s just disappointing to see mojang fail to create a better story when they’ve had so many examples.

the world has MUCH bigger problems right now, but it’s still upsetting- i was born right in time to grow up with minecraft. and while im not surprised, i am disappointed.

The Jungle Hunter:

(The OG boi, the classic suit, the seminal essence of the Predator / Yautja)

The City Hunter:

(What many call Stan Winston Studio’s Predator Magnum Opus. Complex patterns, and gorgeous Sci-Fi Tribal armor abound, he’s stunning.)

The Celtic (&/Or Scar too) Predator:

(Listed Celtic as he has a gorgeous mask. These boys are big, they’re beefy, and they’re badass tanks.)

The Classic / Crucified Predator:

(An homage, and retelling of the OG Jungle Hunter, this boi has all the trappings of the classic, with a co-operative story to boot.)

The Wolf Predator:

(I know he’s on EVERYONE’S list, and he’s incredibly hard to see in the movie… But, there’s no denying the presence this hunter has.)

There’s definitely more hot predators, but these are definitely some heavy hitters for me.

Good/Great Games That Sorely Needed Expansion Packs/DLC Stories, if not More (And What They Might Have Entailed):

X-Wing Alliance (tying up the loose end that is Uncle Antan, whilst maybe extending to the Liberation of Coruscant)

Quake 4 (eliminating the remnants of the Strogg while fighting what may be fellow humans sent to hunt you down)

Return to Castle Wolfenstein+Enemy Territory (just more B.J. Blazkowicz adventures)

Star Wars: Squadrons (modding, more ships like the Assault Gunboat and E-Wing, and a far better and more expanded story campaign akin to X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter: Balance of Power)

Battlezone II: Combat Commander (probably cleaning up General Braddock's remaining yet fanatical forces, with an alternate campaign showing the full extermination of the Scion)

Batman: Arkham Origins (basically, a singleplayer campaign between Batman and Dick Grayson Robin based on the premise of the now defunct multiplayer)

Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000 (just more missions for the Colonial Marine, Alien, and Predator; maybe even more modding tools)

Original War (an Arab campaign that explains the main game's plot holes, among others)

SiN: Wages of Sin (perhaps an alternate timeline where the elusive Elexis Sinclaire was actually killed, thus preventing the existence of the lackluster episodic sequel)

Valiant Hearts: The Great War (an extension involving the American intervention, the fall of czarist Russia and the rise of Communism, and the end of WW1)

Command and Conquer: Tiberium Wars+Kane's Wrath (basically, Kane's Wrath-like takes for the GDI and the Scrin, with maybe a bonus campaign involving CABAL remnants and an actual crossover with Red Alert 2 by way of a Nod agent about to be sent back in time named Yuri)

Brutal Legend (even I can't think which)

Singularity (mayhaps an interquel involving another time traveller who may or may not be helping the protagonists)

Impossible Creatures (again, I can't think of anything)

Shadowrun Returns (Dragonfall and Hong Kong are great, but really, we need more)

BattleTech 2018 (same as Shadowrun Returns)

Mad Max (more adventures, vehicles, and franchise fanservice, and I don't mean the skin kind)

Halo Wars (just some side stories over the course of the Human-Covenant War)

Total War: Shogun 2 (Mongol invasion, 'nuff said)

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (I don't really need to say more)

Act of War: Direct Action+High Treason (either a campaign that shows us the fall of the Consortium or, better yet, a full blown alternate universe Consortium campaign)

House of the Dying Sun (more intriguing missions and ships, I guess)

Edit: OK, Valiant Hearts actually got a sequel named Coming Home in late January 2023, in a different medium that does show the American intervention and thus the end of WW1. Suffice to say, heard it did well.

my farm on Fox Island is going very nicely! the new set of hamum roots just finished coming in and i'm turning around and replanting all of them into even more garden beds

unfortunately business sees us sailing to sadrith mora for a bit but when your house is a boat that's fine

modded morrowind is swiftly becoming absolutely insane and when the painting mod and fishing mods get released you'll be able to live as a nomad farming boat artist this isnt' even morrowind anymore

early on with morrowind being the only game that oculd be modded like this people treated it like a single player second life, releasing all kinds of insane shit that had nothing to do with the game. literal predator vs aliens characters, weird blingzee fairies and honest to god anne rice vampire stuff despite none of it fitting the lore

but now that mwse has come around we're seeing that happen again but in gameplay terms specifically, with things actually being fairly cohesive narratively/thematically which is just reallye xciting

anyway i'm playing as a fox nomad on a boat who is a member of the mages guild as a coverstory for being in the thieves guild which is a cover story for being a morag tong assassin which is a cover story for being an imperial spy which is a cover story for being a scheming vampire-to-be-mage-lord probably because when do i not play as a telvanni vampire
