I think Limbus Company would be way better if every identity was a Faust identity. To illustrate this point, I have made some edits of pre-existing identities to instead feature Faust.

Ever since someone told me that every Ishmael ID has her hairband, I've been thinking about what other accessories or details that are shared across all or most of a sinner's IDs.

My "rules" for this is that it has to be in either the character art or sprites, and exceptions are made if the design obscures it (e.g. W Corp Outis' gauntlets covering her watch). I am also not including things that the character would've been born with/is just a part of their body, so eye color/shape, hair color/style, Rodya's mole, Gregor's beard and Ishmael's freckles.

(If anyone has noticed something else, please tell me, I'd love to hear it!! This is super interesting to me)

First of, Ishmael's hairband, even when she has her hair up, the hair tie is the same general shape. The exception being her Pequod Captain ID, where she instead wears a hat.

Outis' watch and earrings, every ID has one of the two, with an overwhelming majority having both. W Corp. and Wuthering Heights Outis have no visible watch. Barber, Heishou Pack, Blade Lineage Salsu, Magic Bullet and Seven Assoc. Outis have no visible earrings.

Ryoshu's sword, also an obvious one, every ID has the sword. You could count her smoking ??lol

Hong Lu's jade hair tie, for Kurokumo Clan Wakashu and Liu Assoc. the hair tie is a ribbon instead. You can also count his left teal eye, it is mentioned in his Liu Assoc. ID story that it is "noticeably mechanical".

Gregor's cockroach, right arm and yellow eyes, every ID has a cockroach somewhere in the art, and his right arm is always some sort of prosthetic replacement. Most IDs have prostheses that resemble a natural arm, but IDs like Rosespanner and Twinhook do not.

In some character art where Gregor is distressed, his eyes have a yellow tint/glow. Examples include pre-uptie Firefist Office, uptied G Corp. Manager Corporal, uptied R.B Sous-chef and uptied Edgar Family Heir. G Corp. Manager Corporal's sprite has more yellowy eyes compared to other Gregor IDs. Priest Gregor's eyes glow red instead.

Sinclair's puffy/red eyes, I was a bit conflicted about including this since eyes and hair stay pretty much the same across IDs. There's 2 reasons I felt I should mention it: Sinclair is the only sinner with this, and It looks like he has been crying, which fits his character.

Heathcliff's two facial scars and ring, IDs that do not wear gloves (e.g. Multicrack Office, Sunshower, Kurokumo Clan Wakashu) have a silver ring on the index finger. It's inconsistent which hand it is on. The ring is visible through the glove on Öufi Assoc. Heathcliff's left hand, but in sprites and the Shi Assoc. character art, it is on the right hand. Multicrack Office's uptie art has the ring on the left hand, but the sprite has it on the right hand.

There's variation when it comes to Heathcliff's scars, but every ID has two in the face. Most IDs also share a third facial scar, but IDs like Multicrack Office and Seven Assoc. do not have it.

Meursault's belt, the IDs that don't have it (Dieci Assoc. and N Corp.) have their waist/hip area covered. You can also count his constant eye bags.

Yi Sang's dagger and bookbag, most Yi Sang IDs have a bookbag strapped to the left thigh, this bookbag also has a ceremonial dagger strapped to it. IDs that don't carry the bookbag (e.g. Spicebush) have it included in the character art. The bookbag has 하융 (Ha Yung) written on it. Solemn Lament Yi Sang does not have a visible bookbag.

Rodya's tattoo, IDs with more cleavage have a visible tattoo over the left breast.

Still nothing for Faust and Don Quixote so far (Rocinante is not included because of Manager Don). It's true that every Faust ID has Gesellschaft and every Don Quixote ID is a bloodfiend, but since these things are not shown anywhere in the designs/art specifically, I've decided to not include them.

Kurokumo Heathcliff not having an envy skill... I dont think that's even supposed to be tied to the house at all when multicrack had one and also didnt want to go back. Most importantly he might be less horrifically depressed than that id but the identity story is still about him feeling worthless compared to people with a set goal. That pride skill that substituted envy is completely tied to his role in the syndicate and not how he's doing as a person. Once again Catherine's theory that she was holding him back is only half right- he's not tied to the manor anymore, but he has been deprived of his source of motivation that made everything actually worth it.

Love how the R. Corp launch IDs are still so good even after all this time.

Also way more fun for charge than W. Corp. always loved R. Corp but ended up HATING W. Corp.

Also the R. Corp IDs are wayyyyy more fun for charge gameplay than the W. Corp ones. I bet my charge team will look like.

Happy R. Corp Hong Lu is a thing because we're getting better and more interesting charge IDs than whatever W. Corp is fuckin' doing.

as someone doing a 00 only run out of love and spite, yeah

and even on my main if there's just 1 ID I tend to not really be that interested, I am in fact even less incentivized to pull if I do not see a 2 star because while ego is cool it's not what you're using most of the time, you are using an ID first and foremost and without an ID that can compliment it an ego is situational at best. that's the problem with the new Heathcliff ego there isn't an ID that compliments it (which could be easily fixed by giving him a tremor charge 00 for example)

I'm not actually sure i'm a big fan of the decline/nixing of 00 IDs tbh, i think thats gonna have the opposite result of getting kjh that sweet sweet Anime Money unless he intends to implement a 0000 rarity or something, because otherwise people are probs gonna only shard for the sinners theyre attached to/ids that are GOOD rather than pull on banners. A 000 ID that performs like a 00 ID isn't gonna fly well if it starts happeninng more and more. but what do i know. i love my 00s so maybe i just want to have low rarity silly fellas

i also don't like the idea of older IDs falling into obscurity but its mostly bc im very very attached to my first IDs and dont wanna have to stop using them just bc rheir number output isnt crazy like modern IDs are. I feel like this could be fixed by rolling out an uptie V but on a per-season basis (for example, during hong lu's canto we get the ability to uptie V IDs and egos but only from season 1, so on so forth etc etc). I know the power creep IS a lore thing, but. surely this would be an easier option than implementing skins? Not that I dont like the idea of skins though, they're DEFINITELY a really fun idea 🤔

The world's biggest 00 fan has been left saddened and honestly should've expected this by now. Everything else looks so cool but this has been a notable sour point for me, I'm not sure if my excitement will recover until canto release day.

to be clear the IDs look perfectly fine, I do not begrudge the sneks for existing I just wish that one of them was a 00.

I'm doing a whole 00 only run on the side can I get some new guys to be excited about using for that please? Maybe a new Blunt Resist Heathcliff? To give me an option other than Multicrack for Canto 6?

I mean it's good that I have a pick at all I'm really not looking forward to canto 5 because all of Ishy's 00 IDs are pierce weak and I have to get through that first

Are any of these IDs worth uptying? It's difficult deciding what and what not to uptie, especially when thread is so sparse, and there's so many combinations for teams.

Solemn Lament Yi Sang - Likely should, especially since we use him. Just put off due to the high cost, since it is a 000 rarity.

W. Corp Yi Sang - His supports seem good enough, we just don't run charge teams often

My Seven Association - High cost -_- Also, it's a small thing, but I do prefer my nonuptied art for this ID far better... Sighs, but she also uses it frequently. So she supposes if it's worth it.

My Multicrack - Skill 3 and passives all seem good, high cost. Don't use charge much.

Kurokumo Clan Wakashu Ryoshu - Skill 3 and passives seem good, high cost.

Dead Rabbits Meursault - Seems fine enough, especially since we often use rupture.

Thinking about it, killing every Heathcliff might've been a mercy considering what just randomly losing every Catherine could mean for some Heathcliffs. Erkling can't even remember why he's angry now and is more akin to a vengeful spirit then anything. A ghost of a man who is now just lashing out without reason. N-corp Heath will probably fall further into Faust's influence now that the one thing that he had to keep him sane is gone Sunshower Heath is just more sad then before lol. QueeCliff probably wouldn't wanna send his body back to wuthering heights so now if he dies he'd kinda just be lost at sea and forgotten. Obviously some Heathcliffs probably don't gaf at all like R-corp and Multicrack for sure but how many Heathcliffs have been hurt now that she's gone? How many have fallen into a darker place now that they can't even remember why they're fighting or struggling? Everytime I think about this it becomes just a bit more hard to see a perfect world where Catherine and Heathcliff reunite. He probably wouldn't wanna hear it but it might be time to open up his options.

i dunno. people have been theorizing that if the Thirst is related to emotions as yi sang hypothesized, then it's possible it might be connected to the so-called 'disease of the human mind', which is best described as mind-numbing apathy. since prosthetics have been shown to exacerbate that sort of thing by cutting down on physical stimulus in some cases (see: multicrack heathcliff), i imagine it'd make the thirst a lot worse.
