a/n: this is my first attempt at writing here in tumblr. I'm still unfamiliar with the mechanics so forgive me if the format looks a bit plain ;-; This is also my attempt at challenging myself to write romance and capture intimate, domestic moments without excessively using kisses/hugs. Please excuse the writing mistakes here. Hope anyone reading this enjoys! (◕ᴗ◕✿)

➷ Him spooning you and covering your ears during a thunderstorm knowing how sensitive you are to the startling noise
➷ Extending a hand towards you out of reflex whenever you're seen bounding towards him, as though ushering you closer and not allowing a single millimeter of space to fester between you
➷‌ Him immediately sliding over his meal of choice to you when he catches you openly staring at it. You point at it and sweetly ask him if you could have a bite, and when he complies, he doesn't take it back until you are satisfied
➷ His firm tone when he chastises you for picking the cheapest option on the menu, repeating the phrase he often uses in situations like these: "I'm paying. Now, perish those thoughts and choose what you truly want". As you place your order, he notices that your current option was the second cheapest meal on the menu. This stunt garners his disapproving stare, and you eventually cave in from the pressure and order what you really want
➷ He doesn't partake in PDA often, or much at all, but people aren't oblivious to the way he tends to shift most of his body weight towards you when you're around just so his skin can make contact with yours or the way he seeks out every opportunity to touch you, whether it's a simple shoulder tap or a poke at your forearm (bro must have you within at least a meter radius, further than that and he'll pull you closer to him)
➷ ‌In the early stages of your relationship, he noticed that you frequently hold his bag for him, which was a gesture more commonly practiced by men. Not wanting your considerate gestures to go unreciprocated, he now takes the initiative to carry your belongings for you whenever you're out together. His arms now serve as a multifunctional tool for you to either hang your belongings on or latch onto when you're afflicted with a sudden bout of neediness
➷ Never turning down an opportunity to touch your hair. He sees a leaf on your hair? His fingers are already working on removing it. Not only that, but he goes the extra mile by also brushing your hair. He sees a few stray hairs sticking out? His palm swiftly mats it down with gentle, methodical swipes. You wonder why his hand lingers for more than a minute, but you make no attempts to stop him ‌
➷ Your arms are his stress ball. Whenever he catches you doing something cute, be prepared to have your upper arms seized and squished to oblivion. He's done it so often to the point that it developed into a habit. It wasn't until one of his acquaintances pointed it out did he realize it had long gone past the point of habit and into the territory of involuntary behavior. He'd do it even when he's ticked off by what you did/say that at this point, the line between cuteness aggression and sheer aggression is blurred‌
➷ Reflexively holds your hair back whenever you lean over something, especially food. He can tell when it's about to happen by the spark in your eyes and by the time your body tips over to gain a closer look at the object of interest, his lithe fingers shoot out from their previous position at breakneck speed to prevent the falling strands from getting dirty
➷ Those lips that are prolific in spouting soul-crushing, confidence-tearing remarks become pliable crescents whenever you speak. Even if the contents of your mindless ramblings are something he deems nonsensical, inane, and even outright idiotic, a smile will inevitably worm its way up his face. Additionally, as much as he enjoys teasing and berating you (lightheartedly), there is nothing that sates his senses more than your gleeful laughter every time he comes up with a clever quip or a bestows you with adulations. He's not one for sugar coating, but he'd be lying if he said your mirthful reactions aren't enough incentives for him to start doing so
➷‌ Always knows instinctively whenever you're confused by a term or saying, by that pursed lips of yours and the way you stare up at him with a distraught look as if fearing that admitting your incomprehension will garner his or his peers' disdain. When he spots these telltale characteristics of befuddlement, he will draw himself closer to your ear and explain to you in a voice as smooth as silk, yet as soothing as the nightfall breeze, with words meticulously formulated to aid you in obtaining a general scope of what's being discussed. Your apologies are met with a swift rebuttal as he assures you that it was best to be forthcoming about one's lack of knowledge than to feign understanding
➷‌ Him being extra careful with his words when you need his candid input. He goes the extra mile to mince his words when he would usually show no hesitation dishing out insults like flyers. You would ask him for his thoughts on an outfit, and he'd reply "do you want me to be completely honest?" At this point, you had resigned yourself to an inevitable fate of being on the receiving end of his critical and straightforward dissection as he picked on each and every visible flaw, supplying concrete alternatives to mitigate the mistake but not before bashing you for your poor taste. To your surprise, however, he actually... held back? Instead hearing something like "even the most mediocre of minds know not to go for this color scheme. Pray tell, is your goal to be presentable or a laughing stock?"; he goes: "The color of your top clashes with your shoes; perhaps, you can try this instead." or even something simple like "That won't do. You can achieve more with this instead."
➷‌ Watching a movie together and he sees your quivering lips, hears a whimper, and catches the indignant wipe of your eyes. With a sigh, he opens his arms for you to leap in to and make a mess of his freshly ironed shirt
➷‌ "Tell me why!" You angle an imaginary mic at his face, watching closely and expectantly. He breathes out an exasperated sigh, mutters something about your maturity, and then finally says the following line with a delivery somehow more monotone than gal gadot: "ain't nothing but a heartache..." It takes a year off his lifespan every time you initiate these spontaneous karaoke sessions, but he supposes that having the lifespan of a mosquito is worth it if it means seeing you burst into a fitful laughter
➷‌ As much as he finds solace in the moments shared between him and you, Ratio also relishes the times he is able to enjoy a good book and delve in his own ruminations. However, in the rare instances you show even the slightest bit of interest in what he's keeping himself preoccupied with, he'll scooch over to make room for you. No words are exchanged or needed. The moment you accept the silent invitation and the proximity amplifies, Ratio's arm rests around your shoulders like a seat belt securing you to his side before you both eventually embark on an academic journey together
➷‌ There's nothing that robs him of his composure more than when you say "thank you" and bat your lashes at him, playing coy. It sends his heart thumping wildly and engulfs his face in a disarming sense of warmth. It makes him weak—he knows it, you know it. He chases that high by making himself available whenever you're immersed in a task that he knows will require his assistance
➷‌ It's public knowledge that Ratio's productivity and looks can be ascribed to his habit of waking up early. He utilizes the time to read a page or two from his book, exercise, gather his bearings, and prepare himself a balanced meal for breakfast before he would eventually tackle his arduous day-to-day routine as both an educator and a scholar. But now, his morning routine undergoes a bit of change. The steaming cup of coffee becomes two cups. The table is occupied by two separate plates instead of one. And once all that is done and over with, he goes back to bed to wake up his other half
➷‌ You run to him, frantic, acting like the apocalypse is nigh, frazzled and distraught beyond words and he just points to the vanity without a single scathing comment, unfazed to the point of blase. You grab your missing phone with a hop in your step and thank him. The next time you do it, he just goes, "have you tried looking in the drawer?" Wallet found, breakdown averted
➷‌ When he laughs at your jokes (he actually doesn't; on a good day, the most you'll get is a faint, airy snort while the second best is just a blank stare) ‌
➷‌ When he puts his book down, tucks a bookmark between the pages, and ultimately relinquishing his source of entertainment to listen to whatever you have to say, trivial as he may claim it is
➷‌ When he calls you by a term of endearment and doesn't shy away from regarding you with light touches in front of people, despite being fully aware of how this would impact his professional life. This impact being employees gawking at him for actually having a love life, close peers teasing him for being a sap, and even a few brave students approaching him to offer him their best wishes (and surprise because, as a brazen student of his once said: "someone as prickly as him can get together with someone? damn")
➷‌ Even in the aftermath of a recent conflict, he keeps the door to his study room unlocked. He might not say a word to you due to his lingering annoyance, but at the end of the day, he wouldn't (correction: could never) turn you away if you come looking for him
➷‌ Gaining the doctor's interest is a monumental achievement as he is someone with a penchant for knowledge and discoveries that most people will take years to understand. Yet somehow, a simple text from you is all it takes to keep his attention riveted to his phone. If anyone ever sees his vision glued to his screen as though he has just seen someone solve simple addition incorrectly, they'll know who's responsible
➷‌ When he takes you out to your favorite restaurant and brings you to the beach at evening to watch the sunset, knowing how much this kind of scenery soothes your soul
➷‌ When he tosses an apple towards you while you were off collecting seashells, only for it to land on your lap, earning a dissatisfied grunt from him as he chides you for not catching. He retrieves the apple and tosses it again. You try to play it cool when you manage to catch it the second time, but it's hard not to get giddy when you see him with the biggest smile on his face

A famous prehistoric cave site in Belgium has yielded the oldest multifunctional tool of its kind. This Ice Age “Swiss Army knife” wasn’t crafted by early Homo sapiens, however. Instead, the handy accessory came from our evolutionary cousin, the Neanderthal. The findings are detailed in a study published in Scientific Reports.

Updated Future Donnie Concept Art!!!
So, I've been hesitant to try my hand at designing an Apocalyptic Future version of Donnie for a while, for a number of reasons - mainly that I just didn't have a clear idea of him in my brain yet and the thought of attempting to update his already pretty perfect design was highly daunting - but I finally caved and decided to take a crack at it. A couple months and several revisions later, I'm actually genuinely happy with the result. I'd still consider this "concept art" more so than a final design, elements of it could definitely be improved, but I really do like the concept as a whole - I think it could work!
The main goals I had in mind while working on this were: A. Must fit the character/look like something Donnie would canonically wear and still be easily recognizable. B. Must work in the Rise world & style (i.e. not be overly detailed or have too complex a silhouette.) C. Must fit in with the other (canonical) Future Rise designs.
I was also thinking about what problems Donnie might be trying to solve, which is what inspired the belt (more info on that below). All-in-all, although there might still be a few kinks to work out, I think I managed to come up with a pretty solid base design for my favorite Warring Warrior Scientist (Jr.)
Some additional character tidbits under the cut.
Also, I can't draw mechanisms to save my life, so just pretend those vague ninpo-gun-things make sense lol
Donnie has a mechanical prosthetic leg. How'd he lose that leg? Up to interpretation - my working theory is that it was a minefield accident that occurred when he was trying to blow some Krang dogs to Timbuktu. Naturally, since it's Donnie and they are in the midst of an alien apocalypse, he designed the leg to do a whole lot more than just help him stand without falling down. It's a multifunctional tool that contains a plethora of secret uses - including, but certainly not limited to, sawing off ugly Krang faces. It's essentially his new tech bo.
Bonus leg tidbit: Casey Jr. saw him deploy the saw blade in battle once when he was little, he then proceeded to beg for a saw-leg of his own to fight the Krang with. Donnie, realizing that amputating a perfectly healthy child's leg is probably not that most morally acceptable option, instead made him his own "sawing stick"(AKA, his motorized hockey stick)...which the others then made him wait until Casey's 10th birthday to give him.
The belt that Donnie's wearing here is a prototype of his latest invention. Its intended purpose: to deflect the Krang's mystic-blocking attacks, allowing them to use their ninpo in close combat. It took a lot of risk-taking to collect the necessary information to create such a device, and he experienced a number of way-too-close calls (one of which may or may not have resulted in that large gash across his plastron), but he finally managed to crack the code and pinpoint the frequency of the Krang's sound waves. He's testing it out right now to make sure that it works and is safe to use, but once it's out of beta, he plans to mass-produce them for every mystic-wielder in the Resistance to use in battle. He believes it could turn the tides of the war...unfortunately, the device never makes it out of beta, as he dies before its completion.
Donnie's gloves are fashioned after the ones his dad used to wear in his Lou Jitsu days (with some modifications, for comfort and to make working with screens a little easier and less annoying.) The material they're made out of is far more durable, of course, since he's working with them near-constantly and under varying conditions. But maybe he designed them to look like this as a way of keeping his dad's memory close, similar to Leo's sword hilt?
Ironically, Donnie uses his ninpo probably the most consistently out of all the brothers (even though Mikey uses his to the greatest extent, hence his rapid aging). He's constantly using it to check on the base's security status and multitask while working on other projects. Because his ninpo takes a good deal of brain power to operate, it puts a significant amount of strain on his nervous system and this causes frequent complications. Seizures, spasms, and blackouts become a semi-regular occurrence - especially in the latter part of his life. Donnie does his best to manage them, but the workload makes it almost impossible to do so properly. Mikey is able to help with these attacks when they happen, but Donnie - not wanting his brother to overuse his powers any more than he is already - usually opts to just ride it out and save the mystic healing for people who need it. The exception to this rule being when he's in the middle of an extremely important procedure and can't stop long enough to let the attack pass naturally, then he has no choice but to accept Mikey's aid.
This is probably needless to say at this point, but much like Leo and his other brothers, he is a giant. Equal in height to Leo (if not slightly taller, even without the goggles.) The doodle in the top-left corner of the sketch page where he's next to April is meant to be them sitting, so don't take it as anywhere near an accurate representation of their height comparison. It is not, he dwarfs her by several feet, lol.

Windenburg Train Station [Restaurant + Cafe ] ♥ The Sims 4: Build // CC
➽ Speed Build Video
➽ Rheya's Notes:
Hi guys, Today I present to you The Windenburg Train Station located in Windslar. This train station is known for it's Classical Architecture and beautiful historic interiors that has been conserved for decades. While the interior was updated with modern furniture's, the overall structure and essence of the building remains the same. Located inside is a 5 star restaurant, "Florentine," and a café, "Stella's Cafe," where sims can dine and lounge while waiting. The Windenburg Train Station is a multifunctional lot athat can be set as a restaurant or a Cafe. Some Spaces were left empty as I did not want to overly clutter the space with too many custom content. Feel free to decorate it! Considering that this is a multifunctional lot, I recommend downloading LittleMsSam's Lock Door mod to lock doors in community lots. This will give you more control of the space. If you want your sims to specifically be seated inside the restaurant, I suggest locking the doors to the cafe and other parts of the building.

What I Carry Every Day! - EDC
I get asked a lot about what I carry every day. I'm not a big EDC person, but here's the two things I almost always have on me!
The goals are to handle 99% of the stuff I deal with while out and about on our walks in the park, at the beach, or riding bikes, or swimming in the ocean.
Tumblr media
That means bugs and branches are the #1 enemy. Bites, scrapes, stings, blisters, and general ouchies are what I care about.
So gloves, band aids, sting relief, splinter remover, BIG magnifying glass cause I'm old and blind, and hemostatic gauze to go with the bandaids are my go-to's.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice that I also have an emergency blanket that I can throw on the ground, as well as the most versatile thing anyone can carry, a triangle bandage w/pins! Use it as a bandage, a sling, pressure on a wound, even as a tourniquet. It's lightweight and will do the job in a pinch until EMS shows up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's also a knock off swiss army card tool because it has tweezers & small scissors. Also a tiny screwdriver for fixing glasses, a write in the rain notepad, a marker, and a really loud whistle. If you need help, it's a great way to signal help so you're not playing Where's Waldo EMS Edition.
Tumblr media
I do go a bit overboard with the tools/knives. I carry a multifunction pen w/bit driver, knife, light, window breaker, PEN!, stylus, & more. A prytool, a SOG multi-tool w/seatbelt cutter, and folding shears w/ring cutter and seat belt cutter. I also usually have another knife w/cutter in a pocket.
Tumblr media
So there you go, that's my EDC for out and about at the beach, the park, & places where my car FAK isn't accessible. I'm not going to the park in Fallujah, my daily hike isn't through Sangin. I don't need a RATS tourniquet, chest seals, or a full MOPP suit when I sit by the ducks.

Forgetting your stuff at home
An ADHD thing I've always had problems with is forgetting half my important stuff (money, keys, phone, ect) at home because I had to remember to bring something else too or because I was late.
What I'll be talking about:
1. Why putting it in temporary places doesn't work for me.
2. How I got the idea and what the idea is.
3. What I keep in that bag
4. My solution, how I worked it and some more experiences I've had with it.
5. TLDR for people that dont wanna hear my ramble
1. Why putting it in temporary places doesn't work for me.
Having your wallet or other things in the pockets of your pants might be convenient but sadly I have more then one (1) pair of pants and to search for my stuff every morning that I decide to wear a different ones, is not something I will remember.
And so I've got an easy and actually pretty simple way to prevent that.
2. How I got the idea and what the idea is
It's a bit inspired by my mom, who has all her stuff in her bagpack that she takes everywhere and pretty much never uses a different one.
But because I still go to school (so i have a schoolbag) and I have to decide on the outfit what bag I wear, I had to do this a bit differently.
So I, too, got a bag that I would always wear when going out. It's not a bagpack tho, its is similar to a fannybag, and I wear it on my hip.
In that bag (I lovely call it my everything bag, because I have pretty much everything imaginable in it) is a bunch of stuff that I do need pretty much everytime I go out, just as stuff that maybe I could use sometimes.
3. What I keep in that bag
As an example;
things I need constantly in the bag: Wallet, Keys, Headphones (in ear), Phone (it's not constantly in the bag, but it has a designated place for if I need to put it away)
now, things I keep in my bag that i only need sometimes: brush and mirror combination, my meds and painkillers, eyeliner, pocketknife and multifunction tool, lipbalm, hand cream, one (1) fidget toy
And lastly things I keep in there that I pretty much never use but still wanna keep on hand: usb stick (for school just in case [I have one in my schoolbag too, dont ask]), five (5) lighters (I dont smoke [they were all gifts]), padlock (mostly for if I need a locker at school), magnet (I stole it for a dentist office and it is my treasure), allen key, wrench
4. My solution, how I worked it, and some more experiences I've had with it
So basically my tip to not forgetting your stuff at home is putting it in a bag to always take with you, but what I'd like to make more clear is, use a small bag so you can still wear a back- or shoulderbag when you have to bring more stuff with you.
Get a cool or pretty bag that could count as an accessory and doesn't look out of place. Mine as multiple pockets and places on the outside to which I could clip things when I need to. Some of those places have accessories on them, sometimes I use them for a small waterbottle to hang from and I've got a carabiner on one of the for possible bigger things and in case I need a carabiner. Basically, just have fun with it.
'Course, I still sometimes forget the bag, and then I dont have anything on me (very bad, thankfully doesn't happen often), but that happens a lot less frequently. Since I dont have to worry about forgetting my keys, wallet and stuff, i can use that brain capacity to remember other things (like to bring that school project with me or the birthday gift for the birthday party im going to [has definitely happend before and was very late cus I had to go back to get it])
Somethings that I can't forget, like my ticket or some stuff that i could need, should I forget my bag, I keep in my phone case because forgetting my half pretty much never happens.
5. TLDR:
Because I kept forgetting stuff like my wallet and keys at home, I got myself a small bag that I wear on my hip where all those things are in and stay in at all times. I still sometimes forget the bag, but it happens a lot less frequently.

Some devices have acquired an aesthetic and nostalgic meaning. Examples include gramophones, cassette players, old telephones, kerosene lamps, and more. There are many explanations for that, but today, I will point out two reasons.
One reason might be that these devices are no longer used in everyday life, so people don't fully understand their function or have anything to compare them to. For instance, someone from a place without electricity might be surprised by city people's romantic descriptions of a kerosene lamp, even though, for that individual, it was nothing more than a smelly, inefficient device that gave off weak light and heat—unlike modern lighting and radiators. The same can be said for gramophones, cassette players, and old telephones when compared to today’s technology. Modern people might use these old devices as aesthetic decorations without reflecting on their actual utility. It’s only when modern devices fail, or when electricity goes out, that people truly appreciate the functional value of both old and new technology.
However, this first reason doesn’t entirely explain why city dwellers, so dependent on their mobile phones, still admire old telephones or cassette tapes—devices that were often banged or hit hard by their grandparents just to make them work! I think the second reason is that these older devices did not have the same negative impact on social interaction as modern devices do. An old telephone, for example, meant having a conversation with another person; it didn’t mean sitting alone with an app that constantly delivers small hits of dopamine.
Moreover, these old devices were often designed with one purpose: a gramophone for playing music, a telephone for making calls, and so on. In contrast, today’s devices are multifunctional, which leads to constant distraction. Instead of focusing deeply on a single task, individuals are often pulled in multiple directions. Mobile phones are just one example, but modern cars, televisions, and even smart lighting or refrigerators are also multifunctional and, as a result, can feel chaotic or disorganized.
It’s important to recognize that old devices were often less efficient (and perhaps less attractive) than modern ones. The nostalgia surrounding them may mask their flaws. Perhaps we should focus less on spending large amounts of money to purchase old devices or falling for companies' marketing tricks, where modern, environmentally unfriendly products are sold with the same negative effects on mental health and social interaction—simply because they resemble old devices. Instead, we should emphasize fostering meaningful social interactions and critically examining the true impact of the tools we use.
