The Crucifixion
Artist: Louis De Caullery (Flemish, c. 1580–1621)
Date: 1600-1620
Medium: Oil on panel
Collection: Museo del Prado, Madrid, Spain
The Crucifixion | Mark 15:25-32 The Message (MSG)
They nailed him up at nine o’clock in the morning. The charge against him - THE KING OF THE JEWS - was scrawled across a sign. Along with him, they crucified two criminals, one to his right, the other to his left. People passing along the road jeered, shaking their heads in mock lament: “You bragged that you could tear down the Temple and then rebuild it in three days - so show us your stuff! Save yourself! If you’re really God’s Son, come down from that cross!” The high priests, along with the religion scholars, were right there mixing it up with the rest of them, having a great time poking fun at him: “He saved others - but he can’t save himself! Messiah, is he? King of Israel? Then let him climb down from that cross. We’ll all become believers then!” Even the men crucified alongside him joined in the mockery.

Revelation 19:1 (NASB1995) - After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,
“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God;

This one was 100% concept and storytelling tbh LOL so I'll let myself ramble a little!
It was highly inspired by "riez" from Stromae's multitude, which laughs at the social economic differences, in a class struggle way that resonated so damn much with me. I think just knowing this context already adds so much to your reading of the art!
While some of us dream of fame, money and big accomplishments, others dream of having the bare minimum and being able to give a nice life to their family. I love stromae for giving a voice to this awful reality!

I maintain that the concept of “multitude,” as opposed to the more familiar concept of “people,” is a crucial tool for every careful analysis of the contemporary public sphere. One must keep in mind that the choice between “people” and “multitude” was at the heart of the practical controversies (the establishing of centralized modern States, religious wars, etc.) and of the theoretical-philosophical controversies of the seventeenth century. These two competing concepts, forged in the fires of intense clashes, played a primary role in the definition of the political-social categories of the modern era. It was the notion of “people” which prevailed. “Multitude” is the losing term, the concept which got the worst of it. In describing the forms of associative life and of the public spirit of the newly constituted great States, one no longer spoke of multitude, but of people. But we need to ask whether, today, at the end of a long cycle, the old dispute has not been opened up once again; whether, today, now that the political theory of the modern era is going through a radical crisis, this once defeated notion is not displaying extraordinary vitality, thus taking its dramatic revenge.
– Paolo Virno, A Grammar of the Multitude (2004)

So like my dumb excuse is that she didn’t know how the miraculous worked so she copied Multimouse’s design or just said, “Mullo, the best design you got so far please.” And boom, Micechievious was born.
I don’t think the dual-colored braids can be noticed but yeah, it’s the best I could do to imitate mice ears. 😪

Christ Rejected
Artist: Benjamin West (British-American, 1738-1820)
Date: 1814
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA, United States
Description
The monumental scale and complex composition of this painting have something in common with other forms of popular entertainments of the period - dioramas and panoramas. Such spectacular works used to travel from city to city in Europe and America, where they were displayed to receptive crowds in galleries and lecture halls. The English novelist Jane Austen was particularly impressed by West’s contribution to the genre: “I have seen West’s famous Painting, and prefer it to anything of the kind I ever saw before…[it] is the first representation of our Savior which ever at all contented me.” When the painting was featured in a special exhibition at the Museum in 1862, viewers received a three-page pamphlet explaining the scene.
