On a musical note...

A group of Dartmouth researchers has learned that the brain's auditory cortex, the part that handles information from your ears, holds on to musical memories.

For a long time I avoided a lot of music that I used to listen too because majority of the music I liked growing up was so sad! But it got me through a lot of things at that time. Recently I’ve been trying to go back and remember the artist and songs I used to listen to everyday. What an emotional surge to hear these songs again! Surprisingly, as sad as they made me feel, I feel excited and connected. Like I’m seeing an old friend for the first time in a long time.
