I'm pagan, but I love hearing about other religions and despite living an hour from Deerborn (which has the largest muslim population outside the middle east) I know shockingly little about it. Like it was taboo to talk about.

The last time I did it was a girl in 5th grad showing me how to use scarves to make a hijabi and it was so magical to me. I loved her smile when she got to show it off and then I got yelled at for my teacher to take it off because it was 'disrespectful'. And that made me super sad. Now I just don't see much social media about like muslim culture either.

You're one of my favorite COD blogs and I eat up everything you say but this is a really long way of me saying I love when you post about your religion and cultural stuff. It's all very fascinating and I love that you share it.

Your story about the hijab is so wholesomeee, but i assumed the teacher thinks that it's disrespectful for non-muslim to try hijab? If so, it's totally fine, hijab isn't just a muslim thing anyway- some people ik who are christian ortodox wear lowkey similiar hijab and thobe- they often uses a cross necklace so ppl would know they're not muslim

I also have a hijab story from when i was in first year of HS. I have this friend who's protestant, sometimes she would message me at 4/5 am, telling me to bring a spare hijab to school coz it's a bad hair day for her and im like lolol ok, id bring some cute accessories too

And idk why (?) but even tho people here mostly dont speak arabic at all (i can only read them u_u), everyone uses sentences like "Mashaallah" "Alhamdulillah" "Inshaallah" etc etc, including non-muslims.. because the words just became one with Indonesian daily language ig lolol

I'm gonna be honest with you tho XD, finding muslim culture influencer/community in social media that's not toxic is.. hard. I stopped seeking them tbh lolol, from my experience.. they're quite intolerant with people who follows different scholars/mahzab than them etc etc.. but if i have to suggest, ig follow influencers who are reverting seriously (not Andrew Tate definitely). They're more open-minded

The muslim cultures varies in different regions anyway.. so yeah, things i write usually inspired by my own experience- def not a representation of every Muslim sksksk. Like.. i dont think Muslim everywhere else do this

I can't say i'm an expert either :'3, i still have soo many stuff to learn- i think my 15 yo brother is more of an expert coz he memorizes the whole book already. And while i could be quite lazy.. i try to learn more every now and then, about other beliefs and cultures too!! My sources rn are just irl lectures and just casual convos with friends tho..
