Feeling absolutely deranged about the blakefield symbolic differences rn. Everything about Blake is opposite to Schofield. He’s softer, shorter, his uniform hasn’t faded nearly as much, he’s got color in his face and conviction in his heart, whereas Schofield is taller, thinner, paler, everything about him just feels faded. Like a ghost living in a shell. He’s not outwardly sentimental, has gaps in his memory, has lost a lot of the motivation that might have fueled him before, maybe even all of it.

Blake is young, almost childish, he talks about his mama’s orchard and his dog having puppies and his big brother, Schofield rations out the amount of times he allows himself to look at or speak to his family for fear of having to leave them behind too. Blake boosts morale, gives him hope, but most importantly, he becomes Schofield’s motivation. In turn, Schofield looks out for and protects Blake, helps him up, gets him out of trouble, takes blows for him. He was supposed to protect him.

That just makes it SO much more important that Schofield is the one that must carry on alone. Its a trope subversion of the most painful kind, the more experienced mentor and guiding figure, instead of dying and leaving the young hero full of hope to fulfill his destiny alone, must suffer yet another loss and carry on to complete a mission he didn’t even want to take in the first place.

One of the artists I like made a short about how her old selfshipping art with Wander on YouTube, and people in the comments tried saying how selfshipping is "problematic"

Becsuse: "you're shipping yourself together, that's basically incest!"

I don't even use the pro/anti labels. I just know that people like that deserve for "proship to be normailized" or whatever.

Some people were also saying that she was only not getting backlash because she wasn't showing off the "weird" kind of proshipping.

Listening to "Ace" by Angela Chen (audiobook ver.) rn

and my whole shit is getting shifted

like I've known I'm Aromantic and Asexual since I was in high school

But this book feels like a part of me is being healed and its so incredibly validating to hear other experiences and learn more about my own communities

It also makes me mad because its just like,

"FUCK I wish I knew this stuff way earlier. I wish it could be normailized. I wish people knew about Asexuality and not just stereotypes. And I wish other ace people connected more with their history."

I HIGHLY reccommend it to literally anyone

I used to be so normail pilled and not chronically online too then I took a sudden and brief interest in kpop (ateez - woosan ship specifically after never having interest in online people at all) and then like a couple months later I found Dream through dnf and followed cause the drama intrigued me and I felt bad for him.
