“‘Repeat of yesterday?” Scorpius asked with the familiar feeling of dread setting into his bones like a second home, the words thick on his tongue and hard to push out.

“Yeah, you couldn’t remember us when we called out to you on the way to school, couldn’t remember how to get to school, couldn’t even remember the things we learned in class last week.” Cameron shrugged, gesturing at Scorpius vaguely. “You hadn’t brushed your hair, you weren’t even wearing your uniform. You were, like, totally out of it. It was like something possessed your body.”
