Skin Care Products to Make with Essential Oils
Now that you know what essential oils work excellent on your skin, you can begin taking a look at various products to make on your own. Here are some suggestions:
Lotion
One skin care product that lots of people use for dry, broken skin is lotion. There are a several basic ingredients that you will need to make your own lotion with essential oils.
Shea butter is a typical ingredient that is utilized as a base in moisturizers, and you can include essential oils that work with your particular skin type.
For example, if you have aging skin, try including tangerine or rose oil to nourish skin that is starting to sag and have wrinkles. If your skin is prone to being both dry and oily, you can attempt including lavender.
Toners
Toners are fantastic for getting rid of excess soap and makeup and balancing skin. They also leave facial skin feeling creamy soft. Witch hazel is one component that is typically used in toners, particularly toners for people with oily or blemish-prone skin.
Lots of toner recipes for skin that is dry or aging opt far from witch hazel and are made entirely from essential oils that are fit to dry or aging skin types.
Serums
Serums help brighten and hydrate the skin and reduce dark circles under the eyes.
Generally speaking, a carrier oil, such as jojoba oil, is used as the base of the serum, and after that essential oils are included according to the requirements of your skin.
For example, a person who has an interest in warding off wrinkles but also has dry skin may include small several drops of rose oil and chamomile to jojoba oil to make their serum.
Beard Oils
Male commonly have a lot of the very same skin issues that ladies have, and they take advantage of a lot of the products like lotions and toners. A lot of men, nevertheless, also have beards to take care of.
Beard oil softens beard hair and nourishes the skin beneath. A carrier oil, such as coconut oil, is typically used as a base, and a manly smelling essential oil that is fit to the skin kind of the user is included.
Eucalyptus is an essential oil that is antibacterial and can deal with acne. It also has a clean, fresh fragrance that isnât too womanly. Sandalwood is another fragrance that has a woodsy, manly aroma. Itâs great in a beard oil due to the fact that it is hydrating. Another essential oil that works excellent for men is lemon oil. Easy Homemade Essential Oil Candle
Candles create a relaxing and comforting ambiance in your home. If you are trying to avoid toxic products, youâve probably been avoiding candles. It is so easy to make natural (and safe) candles at home. Make this Homemade Essential Oil Candle with just three natural ingredients, and bring candles back into your life!
If you have been following me for a while, you have probably heard me talk about the dangers of candles. Donât get me wrong, I love candles. They are so cozy and fun to have out for holidays and special occasions. Diffusing oils is a much safer way to enjoy ambiance and fragrance. There are several reasons why candles get a bad wrap.Â
Dangers of Candles
Candles made with artificial fragrances emit harmful chemicals into the air, ultimately contributing to poor indoor air quality. Most candles are made with paraffin wax. Paraffin is a by-product of petroleum or coal. Itâs a cheap alternative to soy and beeswax. Burning candles made with paraffin wax and synthetic fragrances releases volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as formaldehyde into the air.Â
How to Make an Essential Oil Candle
A homemade candle can be made with a wax base, a wick, and essential oils for fragrance. Soy wax and beeswax are two natural options to use in candle making. Soy candles burn faster than beeswax. Using essential oils is a wonderful way to customize your candle. The scent will be light, but noticeable.Â
Beeswax Candles
Beeswax was used in the very first candle, dating back to Egyptian times. It has very low levels of toxicity since it releases no bi-products into the air. It can also help neutralize dust, pollution, and odors in the air. Beeswax is a wonderful choice for natural candle making!
Beeswax stays solid and helps prolong the effects and aroma of the essential oils in a candle. Adding a carrier oil such as coconut oil can help the essential oils mix more evenly, last longer, and maintain their scent.
Beewax is also great to keep on hand for a variety of household uses. You can find it in many of my beauty recipes including this Chest Rub, Lip Balm, and Moisture Rich Lotion Bar.Â
Homemade Essential Oil Candle
Ingredients
4 cups beeswax pellets
1 cup of coconut oil
essential oils (see combinations below)Â
cotton wick
4-oz mason jars
Directions
Melt the beeswax and coconut oil using a bain-marie or melt in the microwave. Remove from heat. While the mixture is still a liquid, add essential oils and stir.
Add a drop of wax to the center of the jar. Position the wick. You can also add more than one wick for a brighter candle.
Carefully pour the wax mixture into the mason jars. Allow candles to set and cool. Cut the wick to about œ inch above the wax. Recipe yields 4 candles.
Light and enjoy your homemade candle!Â

Next Level Everyday Essential Oils
Do You Use Essential Oils?
Are you a fan of them, have you only ever heard of them, or maybe you just donât know where to start since there are so many different types and accessories?
Here at the Next Level Plumbing office, we use essential oils everyday and for practically everything! They can be a big help in changing the atmosphere of a room, adjusting an individuals mood or focus, and fixing various other problems that can happen throughout the day!
Here are NLPâs 5 favorite essential oils/ essential oil products and what we use them for regularly!
Essential Oil Diffuser:
Having a Diffuser is the main room is an absolute must for Next Level Plumbing. To walk into a room and smell an essential oil being diffused can be like having a weight taken off your shoulders unexpectedly. It fills the room with a great smell, and can often change the atmosphere depending on which essential oil you put in it! Havenât invested in a Diffuser yet? Theyâre not too expensive, easy to maintain, and come in a lot of styles. Not to mention the benefit they bring by diffusing great smelling essential oils into the air!
Muscle Ease Blend/ Deep Blue doTerra lotion:
These two separate types of essential oil products are necessities these days here at the NLP office. Plumbers have hard physical labor jobs and can be expected to finish off the work day feeling sore in some part of their body. So whether diffusing the muscle ease oil blend or using the Deep Blue lotion blend on sore muscles Byron is able to find a bit of relief through the blends, topically or by simply breathing it in. The Muscle Ease blend consists of peppermint, rosemary, cinnamon leaf, and arnica oils giving off a warm, soothing and relaxing vibe. The doTerra âDeep Blue Rubâ lotion has a lot more ingredients but a few of the more prominent ones include: wintergreen, peppermint, eucalyptus, ylang ylang, blue chamomile, and menthol.
Peppermint Coconut Oil mixture:
This is a simple concoction that requires melting coconut oil into a small lip gloss container or something like it. Once the liquid coconut oil is in the container I like to add in a few drops of peppermint oil and stir it up. Toss it in the fridge to harden up and it can be used as a lip balm, rub a bit at your temples to help improve focus, rub on your stomach to help reduce stomach aches, massage into your hands or any tight muscle group for a relaxing effect, it can also help with skin irritations (I use it on mosquito bites) and also as a pet odor neutralizer. So many wonderful things peppermint oil can do! This is by far the best and most useful oil (in my opinion!)
Lavender/Peaceful Sleep blend:
Lavender is another essential oil that has a multitude of uses, but itâs especially great for helping people relax and improve their sleep! Diffusing this when you sleep can help reduce any anxiety or stress and improve your overall sleep. If youâre looking for something that isnât just the lavender scent, you can try out one of my favorite blends âPeaceful Sleep.â This floral citrus blend is incredibly refreshing and isnât too strong either. Itâs a mix of orange, tangerine, lavender, chamomile, ylang ylang, and sandalwood oil. Either one is great but I love to diffuse the peaceful sleep or put a tiny bit on my pillow at night to really help me relax and sleep well- it works great too!
Peppermint/Vanilla âWishâ Aromatic Mist Spray:
This spray is my automatic go to when I want to freshen up a room, or even wake myself up a bit by spritzing some on myself! While the blend can be easily made at home, I bought my spray at Richardâs Foodporium (where they have other varieties of essential oil sprays as well.) Iâm personally a huge fan of the sweet Christmas/winter vibes the peppermint gives with the soft undertone of vanilla mixed in. I havenât met a single person who doesnât take a deep breath in when smelling it then proceed to drop their shoulders in relaxation and smile at how good it smells!
Now you know Next Level Plumbingâs Everyday Essential Oils! Theyâre a part of our lives and we love them- if you havenât tried any of them and are interested, do a bit of research to find the quality products and give it a go with a crowd favorite like peppermint or lavender!
